‘Capture the Real You’, a tagline synonymous with the brand. Oppo is a brand that prides itself on its cameras and markets them heavily.  As a matter of fact, the camera is marketed so heavily by the brand that it has had a good amount of success with people looking for a camera-centric smartphone. However, Oppo’s biggest competitor in the Indian scene is Xiaomi and its own sister brand Vivo, and they both have incredibly strong contenders across a range of price brackets. Oppo recently launched the F5 which is their brand new device keeping in line with the ideology of their previous devices.  It is a direct competitor to the Vivo V7+ and the Mi A1. Like all previous devices, it too is a camera-centric smartphone and is marketed as such. So how does the F5 differentiate itself from the competition? Let’s find out in this in-depth spec analysis. Design and Display Well to start, the Oppo F5 and the Vivo V7+ share identical body designs. They both have metal bodies and a big screen which incidentally happen of the same size more or less.  They are quite in terms of overall dimensions, too but the differentiating factor between the two is that the Oppo F5 has rounded edges in the corners of the display, more or less like the LG Q6. Also, another key differentiating factor is the shape of the fingerprint sensor which is a bit oval on the back of the Oppo and squared off at the back of the Vivo.  The fingerprint sensor is very fast and accurate. Other key differences include placement of cameras and the antenna lines on both the devices. Overall, the design is quite generic and doesn’t do much in the way to stand out. The Oppo F5 also comes with a 5.99 inch LTPS-LCD display with a 1080p+ resolution which basically is 1080x2160 pixels. It dictates to about 402ppi which is really sharp and is considerably higher than Vivo V7+’s screen which has a low resolution of just 720p on its panel.  The display too is one of the best that you would find in this price bracket and has nice colors and contrast. However, the display in the Huawei Honor 9i remains the leader in this price bracket. Performance Now, this is one area where both the Oppo F5 and the Vivo V7 Plus undercut heavily. We can’t really tell why but both of these manufacturers seem reluctant to use better chips on their devices.  Where the Vivo V7+ came with a Snapdragon 450 SoC, the Oppo comes with a MediaTekHelio P23 Octa Core SoC. It is made using the 16nm fabrication process which isn’t very efficient as the FinFet 14nm chips from Snapdragon but these cost low too.  Other than that, these are power hungry chips and although it is faster than the Snapdragon 450, it isn’t really as efficient. Also, the embedded Mali G71-MP2 dual-core graphics chip doesn’t help with gaming either. General day-to-day performance is fine but heavy gaming is off the list. It also has 4GB of included RAM which is quite standard for all devices across this price bracket. Software On the Software front, the Oppo F5 runs a heavily skinned version of Android called the Colour OS. It has Android 7.1.1 as its base, and the UI tries to mimic the UX of the iOS. This is a trend that really needs to stop because it’s just blatant copyright theft and points towards an inability to create a better UI on the company’s side.  In my opinion, Oppo should simply pay the royalty to Google and get stock android for its devices. But that aside, the color OS doesn’t have a lot of bloat for the Chinese version, and there are customisability options like applying custom themes and so on. Camera and Storage Now, this is the area which should, in theory, be the ultimate selling point for the F5 but I’ll argue otherwise, and this goes for the Vivo V7+ as well. The Oppo comes with a 16MP primary camera with a CMOS sensor and an f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by a single tone LED flash. The camera is fairly okay but cannot come near the performance of the Honor 9i.  The colors are good, and we get a revamped camera app that can control various aspects of the camera.

Also, the f/1.8 aperture enables a nice bokeh effect, but it isn’t as profound as the dedicated telephoto camera setup on the Honor 9i and the Mi A1. Coming to the front, we have a 20MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture and a large 1/2.8 sensor to accommodate for the loss for the dual camera setup with the F3. The Front camera is also good and takes good pictures across a range of lighting conditions. However, the device has some glaring and serious flaws like no Image stabilization of any sort, no 4K video recording (courtesy of the Helio P23) and no dual tonne LED flash. Storage wise, the device comes with 32 and 64 GB variants with the ability to expand it further to 256GB via an SD card. Battery and Connectivity The Oppo F5 gets a 3200mAh battery which is almost similar to the Vivo V7 plus. There is no fast charging support so charging up that battery might prove to be a lengthy process. Connectivity wise, the Oppo F5 has already launched in India, and so it supports Indian network bands including 4G VOLTE. It also features Wi-Fi a/b/g/n 5GHz, Bluetooth v4.2, micro USB 2.0 (no USB type-C) and GPS with A-GPS. Conclusion It’s hard, to sum up, the Oppo F5. The biggest problem with this and the Vivo V5 plus is that both of them don’t feel special in any regard. Also, advertising the camera to cover up the Phone’s apparent lack of proper hardware is simply misleading.  Also, the omissions like no USB Type-C connector, No image stabilization, and lack of fast charging doesn’t supplement the phone in the least in this price bracket. My Essager USB Type C Cable 3A review w/ my Romoss Sense 6 Plus Pro [PH80 Pro], my Anker powerport 2 (and my paper dolls) - Part 2 [Jan 22, 2021]

Hi! Here’s my part 2 of my Essager USB Type C Cable with my Romoss Sense 6 Plus Pro power bank [PH80 Pro], my Anker powerport 2 USB charger brick  and my paper dolls.

In this part, I’m attempt to charge my drained low battery Romoss power bank the Sense 6 Plus Pro using my USB Type C Cable from Essager and of course my trusty 4 year old Anker powerport 2 USB charger brick ⚡🔋, which is surprisingly still functional after a whole amount of used for charging phones and other tech gadgets 😊; and that’s why I love Anker products🥰. Now I’ve already tested before back then, so I want to show ya how long will full charged and what estimate time did stop charging.🙂

So without further ado, let’s get started:

1st and 2nd Image(s): • Here are my gadget tools that I need to charge my power bank to the test. I’ve already listed down so I won’t repeat it once more. • My paper dolls saying that you have a cool charging tool stuff around, thanks.☺️

3rd Image: • But before I set things up, I decided want to take a look a comparison fit between Romoss Sense 6 Plus Pro’s USB Type C female socket ♀ and the Essager USB Type C Cable’s male socket ♂. If I have a USB Type C Cable on both sides I can use it as either charging via USB Type C charger brick (also I want that someday) or charging a smartphone with USB Type C format used, because my Romoss Sense 6 Plus Pro accepts vice-versa charge with their "Fit charge+” system.🙂

4th and 5th Image(s): • Nonetheless, it is time to charge right now and once I plugged my Anker powerport 2, the estimate time begins at 3:21AM Philippine Time (GMT +8).🕒🇵🇭

• My paper dolls say that “how long will your power bank full charged?”. Hmmm... I’m not sure, but be patient while I’m doing other stuff.🧘‍♂️☺️

6th and 7th Image(s): • After doing my computer activities, at around between 11:13 to 11:14AM my Romoss power bank is finally fully charge; estimate of total time is 7 hours 52 minutes (53 minutes) to charge my power bank using my Essager USB Type C Cable 🕚⚡🔋. As a comparison, My Romoss CB12 Lightning Cable’s [Pls see Part 2 - CLICK ME!] estimate time was 12 hours, which is longer than my Essager USB Type C Cable’s charging hours.

•My paper dolls approves your charging test and saying that hope I should use my Type C for charging than the Lightning one. Yeah!😀

Overall: • When it comes to charging, I think his is pretty good USB Type C Cable (I ordered from Essager at Lazada PH [CLICK ME!]). Although my current charger brick doesn’t have Qualcomm Quick Charge feature only a regular fast charge, my Essager USB Type C Cable can handle for my Romoss power bank. If only I have another USB charger brick that was support Qualcomm Quick Charge feature for my Romoss power bank this should be a very interesting topic that I want to tackle on.🙂 With so many cheap and expensive price brands of Qualcomm Quick Charge USB charger brick, It seems to me I have a plenty of time to browse from both Lazada and Shopee, for finding a better quality for that USB charger brick.

"Can we get on with the shopping then?!" FreeLee the Banana Girl asked.

"Yes," Count Macrula said.

FreeLee the Banana Girl, Count Macula, Jr., Count Macrula, and I continued to shop. We picked up Annie's vegan macaroni and cheese, canned pinto beans, canned black beans, canned great white canned beans, corn tortillas, bags of brown rice, bags of white rice, and Daiya cheddar cheeze shreds.

FreeLee the Banana Girl then looked around the canned vegetable aisle to look for the canned whole golden kernel corn.

FreeLee the Banana Girl looked frantically for the golden whole kernel corn while I was absent-mindedly putting the other groceries in the cart.

“WHERE THE FUCK IS MY CORN?” FreeLee the Banana Girl screamed loudly to the point where the whole store could hear. Count Macula, Jr. dropped the list because he was shocked at the random loud volume of FreeLee the Banana Girl's voice. “Count Macula, Jr., find the fucking corn now. What the hell? Where the hell’s my corn, Count Macula, Jr.?”

“I don’t know! I'm trying. Stop yelling at me!” Count Macula, Jr. said as he was crying and slumping his shoulders.

I was slightly shocked when a Jewish Karen joined in with her voice. “Yeah, where the fuck is ze corn? You’d think canned corn would be easy to find in a fuckin’ grocery store,” she yelled.

A store associate rushed to the scene in a panic. “What kind of corn are you looking for, ma’am?” she asked.

Another woman sales associate chimed in, “We’d love to help.”

“Golden kernel,” FreeLee the Banana Girl said.

Everyone in the store was looking for the corn she mentioned. Even Count Macula, Jr. and I were in on looking for it. I wanted FreeLee the Banana Girl and the Karens to shut the fuck up. I lifted Count Macula, Jr. in my arms as we looked for the corn.

“No, no, not here, dammit,” the Jewish Karen said. “Son ov a bitch!”

“Not here,” Count Macula, Jr. said.

“Is this it, ma’am?” one of the customers asked her.

Count Macula, Jr. randomly farted. It smelled like too much tacos. 

“No! I said ‘Golden kernel,’ you stupid mother fucker!” FreeLee the Banana Girl yelled. “I already told you. ‘Golden kernel’ ‘Golden kernel’ Goddammit!”

“Sorry, ma’am, Jesus Christ, please help us find this ‘Golden kernel’ corn,” he said.

“Jesus Christ wasn’t born yet,” the Jewish Karen interrupted. “SHIT WHERE THE FUCK IS FREELEE’S CORN?”

“All of a sudden my corn is gone. It has been on this particular aisle for ages. Why is it gone? Where the fuck is the CORN?” FreeLee the Banana Girl ranted.

Count Macrula carried several cans of whole golden kernel corn as he flew to the carts we were pushing. Angels and Lord vampires literally sang as he flew. It had no added salt, so the angels and Lord vampires sang even louder.

He saved Publix.

"Really Publix saved Publix. It had this corn in stock. And I found it. They didn't move it 40 feet down like the Publix on 11 did two years ago," Count Macrula pointed out. He flapped his wings quickly for effect.

"But you still found the corn and saved Publix," I said.

He stared at me. I stared at him. We blinked. There was a moment in which I was honored by his darkness.

"Thank God Publix can stay alive. Now can we pleeeasssse get out of here!? I would like to get over this Taco Mac with me series and move on," Count Macula, Jr. said. "And if I have to listen to ingredients ONE TIME, I am going to scream."

Count Macrula, FreeLee the Banana Girl, the cast of PeeWee Herman, the Grinch, Smeagull, Garfield, and everyone in the store screamed.

"At least no one is reading ingredients. Ugh!" Count Macula, Jr. said as he ran like the cub he was to the check-out.

"In non-GMO, organic, gluten-free corn tortillas, they have WATER, STONEGROUND ORGANIC YELLOW CORN MASA FLOUR, ORGANIC GUAR GUM, and LIME," I said as I read the ingredients just to troll Count Macula, Jr.

Count Macula, Jr. screamed so loud that everyone else started screaming. "THAT'S ABUSE!!!!!" he shouted.

Paul the Goat even walked back in the store and bleated.

Then we went to check-out because Count Macula, Jr. just couldn't take anymore.
