#hongcamposting#idk if this is his own camera or just a propr but words cannot express how WEIRD this camera is#it's an instant camera but it looks and even has a LEVER like an analog camera. you pull it to print. you turn the dials to browse#between 'film' and 'lens' effects (applied digitally but the aesthetic is v much vintage-inspired). you can connect it to your phone#via bluetooth/app and like print stuff from your phone. WHAT#but also from a like. cultural point of view this is fascinating because 'retro' and 'vintage' are trendy (just look at music)#although i guess y2k is more popular than the 70s/80s at this point -- but no one really went 'let's bring back analog photography!'#(i'd know if it happened. film and developing would be cheaper for starters)#instead the retro-adjacent aesthetic is being reproduced digitally. of course it has been over a decade ago -- on instagram -- but i feel#like after a while the insta retro filters have gone out of fashion. filters are still being used but subtler; closer to color editing and#more hq. at some point i caught myself thinking back to insta's filter+frame combo with nostalgia -- because they've phased the frames#out years ago. WHAT is the human brain/culture doing

#shrimp thoughts#AAAAAAAA god i'm so happy whenever i catch a hong-chan with a film camera :')#i gotta see if there aren't any videos in which he talks more about photography! show off your collection!!#now that i think abt it they did have the 'members + some semblance of them taking photos' thing in like... three? albums?#and they were always diary versions lol. fever 2 where they had the 'press the button to take a photo' thingy#fever 3 where they posed with disposable kodaks but didn't take photos and fever epilogue where some photos had suspiciously grainy vibes#but most of them despite the colors/aesthetics were too hq to be film camera photos. although that first group one...? HMM HMM#they should pull a deukae escape the era and let them just snap pics of each other. like for the photobook. as the official photographer#sits and sips coffee lol#and speaking of deukae i'd like to identify those cameras too... as opposed to the atz pics they're grainy enough and i can't see shit :')#hongcamposting
