Have you heard? @gisou, that sweet-as-honey 🍯 hair care brand that has had beauty addicts buzzing 🐝 since their launch in 2017, is now available in store and online at Sephora! Gisou’s products contain a blend of minerals, vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants along with their key ingredient, honey. Derived from co-founder @negin_mirsalehi’s family bee garden, in her family for over 6 generations, honey is a natural humectant with incredible moisture-retaining properties. It’s the perfect ingredient for maintaining hair’s natural moisture balance. I’ve been intrigued by the brand for awhile now so when they reached out I jumped at the chance to try some things! They kindly gifted me their Honey Infused Hair Oil and Propolis Infused Heat Protecting Spray, which have both ended up being THE perfect choices for my hair. My scalp gets super oily and my hair is on the finer side but I have tons of it, so hair oils are usually no-go. Gisou’s Honey Infused Hair Oil however is the exception. The texture is thick like honey but it’s not heavy on the hair at all. I’ve truly never felt a hair oil like this! Cautiously I first added a few drops to my deep conditioner. That felt great so I applied a bit more to the ends of my damp hair and combed it through. Once my hair was about 90% dry I still felt no signs of the unwanted “wet look” I was expecting, just healthy, soft hair. So I proceeded with my blowout and went full-on by adding a few more drops to the ends of my dry, freshly styled hair. What would typically be a disaster resulted in soft, shiny blowout perfection! Over the next few days my hair stayed silky soft and my scalp was no more oily that usual. Not to mention my hair smelled incredible! It reminds me of the warmth and freshness you get from a floral honey and isn’t the least bit overwhelming. It does contain silicones, which are fine for me since I don’t style my hair everyday, but possibly not for others. QUICKIE REVIEW: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲 ($41.00 - 6.7 oz) is one of the first products I’ve tried from @gisou (you know…that brand taking over your feed) and it’s meant to provide heat protection from styling tools, prevent sun damage with UV filters, and condition the hair to help prevent breakage and split ends. What I like is that it manages to do all that it claims without weighing the hair down or leaving any trace of product residue (which is super important to me). It also allows styling tools to glide effortlessly through your hair and speeds drying time. While I really like the aroma of their Honey Infused Hair Oil, I have to say there’s something about it in this form (same with the Hair Perfume) that I don’t love. It’s not an offensive scent, and the performance of the Heat Protecting Spray outweighs that aspect, but still felt worth noting. What’s you’re fave Gisou product?
