“Y/n he’s my roomate!”

Thoughts cloud your mind, an unreadable face expression shown on your face. You just fucked your Professors roommate, and Sirius said last night, he was coming home today?! The thought made you panicked, a bead of sweat threatening to fall from your forehead if you stress anymore.

“I- Sirius i need to get out of here before he gets gets home!” Sirius nods his head. His face soon changed from concerned to realisation.

“We need to get you gone quick Y/n, i don’t know when he’s going to be home” You grab your dress and wand and check the time, 1:03pm, shit, that’s late! You scurry around trying to remember whether you brought anything else or not, you damned yourself for drinking last night as your memories slurred.

“Do you have a fireplace? I don’t have my apparition licence yet” Sirius nods quickly, wrapping his arm around your back, ushering you down the stairs but you were to late, you heard the faint rumble of the flu network...

“Shit, shit, shit” Sirius face palms. “Y/n, i’m so sorry” He didn’t even try to hide you, he just stood there and waited for Remus to walk round the corner.

Your eyes grew wide as you realised that you had Sirius’ shirt on and a pair of his boxers that you couldn’t even see and a silk dress in my hand, we couldn’t even play it off, we couldn’t make up some silly exuse, then Sirius started to guide me towards the kitchen, but that was the first place Remus went.

The panic rises even more, you bit your lip trying to breath normal and quiet breaths after running around like a mad man.

“Sirius!” Remus shouts from around the corner, he was getting closer. At this point you gave up completely in trying to hide, you might as well surender. “Why’s there two glasses of firewhiskey on the table” He shouts again. Remus turns the corner, of course where you were hiding...

“Y/n? Oh... Y/n?! Sirius?” Remus face went from confused to wide eyes too angry but then back to confused. You bit your lip and stayed silent.

“Sirius, what. the. fuck” Remus couldn’t look you in the eye. Sirius then grabbed you by your shoulders and moved you behind him, obviously reading Remus discomfort.

“Let- Remus, let me see Y/n out, then we can’t talk about this” Remus huffed and turned around, letting you and Sirius do the walk of shame to wherever the fireplace was.

There was an awkward silence as we walked... it were more like a shuffle.

“Sirius, i’m really sorry” Sirius smiled and scoffed, like nothing was wrong. You were in slight disbelief but then you remembered why you were so attacked to him in the first place. “You’ve got nothing to be sorry for Pup” He kissed your cheek and backed away from the fireplace.

Third Person POV

Sirius let out a loud huff as Y/n disappeared, he didn’t want to face Remus, Remus could be scary.

Sirius saunters as slowly as possible, stopping to brush the dust off photoframes he didn’t even acknowledge before today. Finally he reached the kitchen, where Remus was sat at the table, head in hands.

“Please tell me it wasn’t you that left them horrible marks on her body” Sirius knew what Remus was referring too, he found them rather pretty, he was proud of them, obviously Remus didn’t think so.

The silence answered Remus question.

“For fuck sake Sirius” Remus banged his fist on the table making Sirius flinch. “That’s my fucking student, ive taught her for years!” Remus voices his anger, tugging at the roots of his hair.

“In all fairness Rem, i didn’t know that she was your student until this morning” Sirius was calm about the situation, this told Remus that he didn’t care much but Sirius did care, he just wasn’t a very empathetic guy.

“Tell me the story then” Remus rests his head on his arm and cocks an eyebrow in question.

Sirius told Remus the story in detail, all in detail but the part where they had sex, he didn’t think Remus wanted to hear about that part. In all honesty, Sirius was excited to tell Remus about this girl, about how amazing he was in bed, about how she rocked his world that night, that excitement went out the window very quickly.

“She said she wouldn’t go to the bar” Remus mutters under his breath, away from Sirius so he didn’t hear.

“Did you have sex?” Remus holds his hand out in question, you could see where he had dug his nails into his palms.

“Erm... ~yeh~”

Remus face palms, many questions and scenarios to do with his work fill his mind, overwhelming him slightly.

“I’m sorry Rem, i truly didn’t know” Remus shakes his head.

“What, and if you did know, would that have stopped you? Would you have been able to control yourself?” Remus asks seriously.

“If i knew she would fuck me like that then no” Sirius joked, immediately regretting it seeing the look on Remus face.

“Sirius! Your disgusting, genuinely disgusting, i have to teach that girl, i have to watch her sit in my class, knowing that- ugh i don’t want to think about it” Sirius laughed at Remus reaction, he thought that Remus would take it harder than this.

“Did you tell her how old you was?” Sirius sucked in a breath, offering Remus a shy smile and sorrowful eyes.

“No, Pads...” Remus realised that Sirius had lied about his age. Remus hands snake into his hair, pulling at the roots in annoyance.

“What’s next, are you going to tell me you got her pregnant” Remus laughs.

“Oh shit...” Sirius fakes concern. Remus eyes shoot open, he looks like he’s ready to throttle Sirius.

“Joking, only joking, please don’t kill me” Remus hits Sirius round the back of the head.

Sirius knocks on Remus bedroom door, it hadn’t exactly been awkward since the whole situation, seeing as they were joking about it in the end but it wasn’t the same.

“Yep” Remus answers, eyes shooting up from the book he’s reading.

“I just wanted to apologise, like genuinely apologise, i realised how bad it actually was” Sirius fiddles with his thumbs, standing in the doorframe.

“I thought you said it was good?” Remus asks, jokingly talking about the sex. He knew what Sirius was talking about.

“Oh no the sex was some of the best sex ive had in a while and that’s saying something, i meant how bad it was, what i done Rem, i’m sorry” Remus cringed at the subject of his student but his eyes turned soft when Sirius voiced his apologies.

“Sirius, you said it, you didn’t know that she was my student, there wasn’t much you could do about it, neither of you” Sirius nods. “I’m dreading going back to school now, i cant imagine how embarrassed the poor girl is” Remus eyes lying back on the book.

Sirius sniggers. “There are so many things i could reply to that comment with, but for your sake, ill refrain” Remus made a disgusted face.

“Sirius, your gross”

Going back to school wasnt as bad as the pair thought it was going to be. Y/n was incredibly worried, she was worried that Remus would think less of her, that he was disappointed. But when they saw each other, they just nodded and smiled. Until one day.

Remus asked Y/n to stay behind after lesson.

Y/n immediately knew what the subject of their meeting would be about. She was afraid. She was embarrassed.

Y/n knocked on her Professors classroom door.

“Come in” She walked into his class, warily.

“Ah Y/n, come sit” He offered a welcoming smile.

You obliged, you sat and fiddled with the hem of your skirt, staying completely silent.

“Y/n, first of all, i wanted to let you know that you’ve done nothing wrong here, your an adult and you can make decisions for yourself, i’m not angry or annoyed or dissapointed at you, it’s a natural thing, you know that” You nod with a smile, a releif being lifted of your shoulders. “And sorry about my language, i was in such shock,” The Professor scratched the back of his head in awkwardness. This still doesn’t change that your Professor saw you looking like a disheveled mess.

“Also, i wanted to give you this” He hands you a little tub of gel. You look at him confused as to what was in his hand.

“It’s bruise gel, it will help your marks” You thank Remus for the gel, the hickeys had gone down a little bit since he last saw.

“I know a bad bruise when i see one, that was bad Y/n” He chuckles, your glad you can joke about his with him, you feel comfortable.

“You can blame me for that one, that wasn’t my fault” You laugh with him.

“True point, i’ll tell Sirius off”

Glad You Came (JS)

A/N: trying to beat my writer's block and writing the first thing that came to me :////

It was your first art show and you were buzzing with nerves and excitement. You felt like throwing up and shouting at the top of your lungs in the same breath-you supposed it was possible. But you resist the urge and greet everyone with a flash of a smile instead.

Most of the people who came out, you didn't recognise. A lot of other artists and friends milled about but you had told your friends to invite anybody they knew, which resulted in a mix of people. But it was nice in a way, you liked the thrill of walking past people talking about your artwork without a clue that you were the artist.

Your childhood in the country and the shift of adulthood in the city played a role in the traditional work and prints you'd made. It was whimsical and sometimes nostalgic, you'd poured your heart into it and it was like your baby finally being revealed to the public.

"Babe you've got like two sales so far." Kira whispers beside you.

"That's amazing!" You squeal but a small part of you curls into itself. You didn't want to let any of these pieces go, but you'd made art with the purpose to share it. And you also seriously needed the money.

"That cute bloke over there could take convincing but I bet he would buy," Kira points to a blonde-ish guy who was wearing a black jacket, black jeans, and black boots. You look down at your own outfit which mirrored it except your boots were heeled. What was the harm?

"You think?" You ask as Kira pushes you towards him.

"Chat him up, he looks interested."

The two of you freeze when he turns around and looks over his shoulder as if he'd heard you two. But he glances around the room before looking back at the painting.

"He looks interesting too," you giggle. His face intrigued you. And the fact that he was alone.

Kira gives you one last shove and you move towards him, standing beside him for a moment as you both look at the piece. This one was about the chaos of adulthood, multiple blocks of colours coming to the center in a black dot.

"What do you think?" The guy speaks up before you could. You look at his nametag-everyone wore one including you. Joe. "Do you like Y/N's work?"

He knew your name. Who was he?

"It's interesting," you say as you discreetly cover your nametag with your jacket. "What do you think?"

"There's a lot going on," Joe chuckles and you bite back an awkward smile. Here comes the brutal honesty. "A bit shocking to look at but when you look at the center it evens out-I like looking at it."

You're speechless. You didn't expect this very attractive stranger to give such an accurate analysis of your work.

"Do you know the artist?" You ask.

"Y/N? My friend's friends with her but I don't know her personally."

"Thought so," You say, no longer covering your smile or your nametag.

Joe raises an eyebrow before looking down at your shirt.

"You're the artist."

"Yup!" You say gleefully.

"You made me...."

"It's a little trick I like to do," You laugh. "Don't worry, a lot of people weren't as nice as you."

"I..." Joe is still speechless. He looks you up and down, opens his mouth and then closes it. And then finally: "You're younger than I thought."

You can't help but laugh at the unlikely comment, shaking the awkwardness off as he joins in.

"I'm Joe," he finally introduces himself. "Byron invited me to the opening."

"Oh! You're Byron's roomate!" You realise you'd heard about Joe. He was a Youtuber. "He's mentioned you-I haven't seen him though."

"He had a thing in Manchester and his train got backed up so he asked if I could go in his place." Joe explains.

"Oh he could have just texted me-you didn't have to come all the way down here." Warmth envelops your heart for Byron's commitment-and this new friend apparently.

"Ah it's nothing," Joe says humbly. "I've never gone to one of these-it's nice. I can see why Byron likes the art crowd."

"Don't let it fool you though," you say. "It can get really pretentious really quickly."

"Like the way I'm drinking this champagne even though I hate it?" Joe holds up his flute.

"Why are you drinking that!" You grab Joe's arm and try to ignore how strong they felt under your hands. He lets you lead him to the bar. "What do you drink? It's covered."

You return the champagne and hand him a beer, grabbing your own glass of pretentious champagne. Joe looks a lot more relaxed as he drinks his beer and the two of you find a dim corner to lean against the wall, staring out at all the people who'd come out.

"This is really impressive though," Joe says after a while. He places a light hand on your waist so you could hear each other better and you move towards him an inch. "You should be proud."

"Yeah," you blush. "I'm overwhelmed with all the support. I poured my heart into all this."

"I can tell," Joe's gaze remains trained on your face. "I look around and it's like I know you. The paintings from your childhood remind me of my own. You're really good at what you do."

"Wow," you press a hand to your beating heart. "That's really...nice to hear."

"Where'd you grow up?" Joe asks and you tell him. "That's not too far from me..."

The two of you bond over the simplicty of childhood and how boring it also got sometimes.

"...so I climbed a lot of trees," you laugh as the two of you share your childhood hobbies. "My mum was always yelling at me for getting my hair in knots."

"I've climbed my fair share," Joe replies. "It's perfect for tearing holes in all your clothes isn't it?"

"Especially on your way down!" You say and the two of you laugh as you show him a scar from when you fell off a tree.

As the laughter subsides, you sneak a glance at Joe while he's not looking and feel your heart hammering. He was handsome and kind-the type of boy your mum would approve of. But more than that, he had an infectious smile and he was so easy going you were surprised every person in the room hadn't already asked him out.

"I bet I could climb a tree faster than you-I was champion in my class." You say suddenly. Maybe you just wanted to see him again, or maybe this was your way of flirting. But Joe responds appropriately.

"Not a chance, I would beat you by a landslide."

"Oh it's on," you say seriously. "You are so on."

"Yeah?" Joe leans in. "What happens when I win."

"Oi, it's if you win not when you win."

Joe lets out a hearty laugh, laced with a challenge.

You cross your arms, "You don't think I could do it but once I change into my sneakers-I'll have bragging rights from now until infinity."

Joe wipes his eyes, "We'll see, love. I'm going to actually set this up."

"You can record it too! So no one's cheating!"

"Are you calling me a cheater," Joe grabs your hips again and this time the touch is familiar as you fall closer to him with a smile.

"Heyy," Kira suddenly walks up and Joe drops his hand, turning his attention to her. "Cozying up with the artist, I see."

"Oh uh," Joe laughs awkwardly. "We've just agreed on a tree climbing contest."

"A what?" Kira looks between you two and you know she wouldn't get it. As a city girl, your tree climbing escapades were a funny anecdote for her. "As long as you make sure her arms are still intact by the end of it."

"I've actually seen artists paint with their toes," you say which earns an odd look from both Kira and Joe. "Just saying."

"I'll leave you two," Kira glances at you and shifts her eyes to Joe. You shake your head subtly-he was a friend now-not a potential customer. She shrugs and leaves.

You turn to Joe. "Sorry, Kira can be a little hard to warm to."

"That's alright," Joe shrugs. "I'm used to meeting all sorts."

"That's right-you do Youtube right? How do you like that?"

"It's great. Really rewarding-I wouldn't change it for anything."

"So I should check your work out now that you've seen mine," you tease.

"Oh it's nothing compared to this."

"Maybe I can learn something about you?"

"Maybe," Joe says with a wry smile. "I can tell you anything you want to know about me now though. Including how good I am at climbing trees."

"I already know that particular bit-you're good but not as good as me," you inch closer. "What I want to know is if you have a girlfriend?"

"No," he says. "It's...it's complicated."

"Oh," you step back, red flags shooting up. "Oh-okay I-"

Joe laughs and you shift uncomfortably but he yanks your hand towards him. You stumble closer to him and he curls his hand around the back of your waist.

"I'm kidding-I'm very very single. No commitments. No complications. And yourself?"

"Oh, you had me...jeez." You chuckle. "Same though. I'm uh-I'm very single."

"Hm," Joe nods slowly, his eyes memorizing your face. "Anything else you want to know?"

"Um," you bite you lip, enjoying the way Joe seems to linger on your features. His icy eyes were art in itself and his gaze was suggestive of another kind of art. "That's all I can think of right now."

"That's it?" Joe smiles.

"Well," you finally rest both arms on Joe's shoulders and he shifts to wrap both arms around your waist. "What were you doing after the show? Say, around 10?"

"Hm," Joe smiles lazily, moving you closer to him. Your heart hammered away yet you couldn't move away, you knew what was coming. As his blue eyes and slight stubble came closer to you, you glance at his lips and back up at him, knowing he was going to kiss you. He tilts down and you let him press his lips to yours; they're gentle, his lips soft on yours and your hand curls around the back of his neck in response as you push yourself closer to him. You didn't really want him to be a gentleman right now.

"We'll have the artist present her statement on this collection...." the loud voice booms around you two and Joe pulls away. Your hand goes to your lips and you stare at him, startled, as you remember that despite the dim area you were in, you two were still in public. "....Y/N? Can we get a short final speech?"

Shit. "Um," you widen your eyes and Joe laughs, lipstick smudged slightly on his lower lip.

"You'll be fine," his eyes crinkle with a smile. "Go."

You swipe at his bottom lip and squeeze his hand before stepping out in view of the gallery's collector.

"There she is!" He holds out the mic and you rush to grab it. Your eyes search for your friends as you thank everyone for coming after explaining your statement.

"Here's to more art and here's to more friends," you hold out your empty champagne glass which you were surprised to be still clutching. You find Joe as you say your last bit and he's leaning on the far wall with his arms crossed. Even though his body language showed no interest, he looks at you with a shining happiness.

"So where are we headed after this?" Kira asks after you hand back the mic.

"Do you mind..." you glance at where you saw Joe last. "I might head out with the guy I met."

"The one I pushed you to?" Kira squeals.

"Yeah sure," you roll your eyes. "Take credit."

"Obviously," Kira says and the two of you laugh. "Have fun-you've earned it babe."

She kisses you on the cheek and heads to another friend as you look for Joe. Many people side track you including the gallery owner who tell you you made five sales in total. You bounce away, feeling like you're on cloud nine.

Looking for Joe, you eventually find him near the entrance, on his phone.

"Ready?" Joe asks you and you grin, too excited for words. "I was thinking about a bottle of wine I have at home-would you be interested?"

"Sounds perfect," you hurry out with him and let him hold your hand. First art showing down and many more to go-you hoped.

With that thought you glance at Joe who's getting the two of you an Uber. Maybe he could be there for the many more to come...right after you beat his ass in tree climbing.

"What are you smiling at?" Joe asks you as he catches you looking.

"Nothing," you shake your head, your smile turning into a grin. "Just really glad you came."

Vows.

All that is known of Mal and Alina’s vows is that they were true, but what were they? (I promise you guys won’t be mad) it’s a oneshot. Also I’ll take headcanon requests now too I guess. You probably won’t send any I’m very bad at this but it’s three thirty am and I’m salty as hell. It’s not very descriptive and if you wanna write this better then please do I feel like I butchered the characters but like I said SALT.

Priest Eliotte looked at the girl and boy in front of him, it was an odd request they gave him and he was reasonably sure the names they gave were fake. To outsiders this may have looked like a wedding, but the priest knew better. He saw the look the white haired girl gave the boy, it was filled with cold determination, shared history, understanding, and a love once fiery now dead, he could see all this in her eyes, the boy however, he wore similar determination and history in his eyes, but it was clear he still loved her. And believed he could win her back. The priest was smarter than that, he knew that these vows were for the people, the orphans. It was as they’d asked, well she’d asked.

“I vow to help every child I can, grisha or otherwise, I vow to do all that is within my power to help the unwanted children of the world find their place. I vow to do what is necessary for the children I am swearing to protect. I vow that my life is theirs and my heart beats for them,” the boy says this, to priest’s shock, not with spite, but with honesty. He means to do as he says.

“I vow to help all people I am able, starting with children. I vow to go where I am needed to help who needs it. That I will dedicate all my time to those in need, to make the world better and repair the rifts in this nation,” there’s a kind of fire in her voice as she says her vows. She will do all she says and more, “I promise to make decisions that benefit people, no matter the personal cost and that I will do all that is needed of me and more.”

“With the saints as your witnesses let these vows be made,” and so Priest Eliotte watched the as the odd duo nodded at each other before walking away, arms linked.

The first place Alina was needed was the orphanage she’d grown up in. It started with painting places to add more color, teaching lessons and buying books. Mal was more than happy to have her there, and he believed he was getting somewhere with her, perhaps they weren’t married, but the children thought they were and Alina hadn’t said they weren’t. Of course, she still wore her hair like an unmarried woman, but if things went well, Mal planned to change that.

Then the Kefta came and Alina began looking towards the horizon. The orphanage was doing well, so Alina could leave and not be breaking her vows, but she could also stay and Mal believed she was beginning to love him again, he should have been better, less controlling, less scared, but she didn’t have her powers now and she still loved him for a time, so Mal thought she would stay.

It was in August not a week after the kefta that Alina was packing a bag. “Where are you going.” It wasn’t a question, Mal knew, she was headed back to the Little Palace.

“Ketterdam.” This was said with the will of the girl Alina had been about two years ago. During the war.

“What’s in Ketterdam?”

“People. They need me, there’s been a plague.”

“Alina, the children -“ he was desperate now.

“Will be fine, you’re doing well with this and I’ve hired staff for lessons, I made vows, Mal,” she was angry now, Mal didn’t understand.

“Alina, I need you!” And he thought she needed him.

“If that were true, you would’ve treated me like it instead of yours Mal. I’m leaving and you can’t stop me, tell my friends that I’ve left,” and with that she walked out the door.

Mal never told her friends that she’d gone, he simply let them believe she’d disappeared, when they mentioned her he said nothing, until the stopped asking, until they stopped coming.

Although Mal may be an awful lover, he had meant his vows and so he stayed with the kids, kids who still wrotwe letters to Alina and got little gifts from her. Eventually he married the woman Alina had hired to work with him and the two raised the children like their own.

Alina found that Ketterdam needed help even after the plague, the merchant council had only been all too happy to let her send letters to the families of people who died and to keep track of who died, like those two brothers she remembered writing down; Jordie and Kaz Rietvald, she looked into it and found that they’d lost their father. Saints help their mother.

It had been about seven years since she got there, nine since the war and five since she opened a school for the poor children left without proper education or food, so far she’d opened three of these schools, open to anyone who wanted to learn.

She was grading the work of a particularly eccentric young boy, when there was a knock on her door and so her newfound business partner, friend, and roomate, Lilian, sighed and opened the door. Alina couldn’t make out what was being said, but she could tell there was a man there. Maybe he was wealthy. Maybe he would invest in their schools so she could go back to Ravka and reconnect with the friends she lost when she moved. She’d asked Mal to tell them she’d left, but in her anger at him she’d forgotten to give them an address.

“The founder of these schools is just over there, she’s grading some papers right now, but she’ll talk to you, her name is Tatia,” Alina heard Lillian say from the other room, she felt bad for lying, but she had vows. “Though can I ask why a- well- you’d be interested in schools?”

Alina didn’t hear the man’s response, but at least this would be interesting. The man walked through the open doorway and Alina listened to his strangely familiar footsteps as he approached down the hall. Then they stopped in her doorway.

“Alina.” At this her head snapped up.

“Nikolai.” Before either of them knew what had happened they were holding eachother tight and sobbing into each other’s shoulders.

Nikolai spent that night drinking and catching up with his dear friend. She told him how she left Mal, who Nikolai had previously thought she married. Apparently she didn’t. She told him about her school and helping with the plague. He told her about Zoya and how their friends were crazy, and the nobles were stupid. He told her his problems and she told him solutions and he couldn’t help but think she’d be an excellent queen. He spent that night falling in love with the Saint all over again.

When he asked her to come back to Ravka with him tomorrow she said yes. With the reconstruction of the cities swallowed by the fold done, someone would need to open schools. She had vows.

When the two grew closer working with the children in these new old cities and he kissed her after a long night working, she kissed back.

When he asked if she’d come to the palace with him and serve as secretary of education and come up with standards of education and laws regarding the treatment of children, she said yes.

When he asked her to marry him, she said yes.

And so the two vowed themselves to eachother, not their missions, which they would still work to accomplish, but eachother and their love. The saint and the prince, the king and the queen.

I’m pretty sure this works with canon but if not whatever like I said it’s three fourty am as I write the end of this and I’m still salty over MAL and am a die hard Nikolina shipper and so I’m adding onto the ending and maybe the timelines were off, but change that if you need to point is Nikolina is canon and this is how, but better written than this.

Percival looked up from his cup of coffee, bleary eyed and tongue heavy inside his mouth. He stared at Theseus for a second, before hanging his head low. “Yeah.”

“Hey,” Theseus said, stepping closer. He held a cup of tea in his own hand, and he took a sip from it, burning his tongue as he searched for the right words. “I’m cool with it. I just think, maybe you should talk to someone about this, and I'm just saying - I’m right there.”

“It’s just…” Theseus hesitated, before deciding honesty was the best answer, manliness be damned. “We been roomates for over a year now, you know? Best mates, even. And seeing you like this…” He took a deep breath. “My offer still stands, you know.”

“Which one?” Percival asked with a hollow smile. “The one where you kidnap me and drag me to your car to make me see a psychologist, or the one where I should sleep in your room because it is supposed to make me feel better?”

“Both,” Theseus said nervously. “But mostly the latter. The former too. If you want I can call the doctors for you, come with you to appointments, even, but I can’t keep just… watching you as you refuse any help. I love you, man. You don’t deserve that shit.”

Percival smiled again, tight lipped. He looked far more lonely and sad than any guy had the right to be at nineteen, and Theseus felt at a loss for what to do. “It’s not the end of the world, eh, mate?”

“No, of course not,” Percival said dryly. “I just -” His voice wavered. “I just fucking nearly killed my brother, you bloody wanker - oh, God, Theseus, Theseus, what the fuck!” Percival buried his face between his hands and let out a muffled scream.

“You didn't do it!” Theseus said sharply, his voice booming as Percival broke down into sobs in front of him. “You didn’t do anything, Percy, this crazy woman did! You couldn’t have known!”

“I should have noticed!” Percival shouted, on the verge of hysteria. “Every evening that woman came to fetch him at school and brought him home where she was supposed to help him with his homework, feed him and then I’d be there at nine to pick him up, and instead she beat him where I couldn’t see, fed him the worst she had in her pantry and brainwashed him! My little brother, Thes! Even my bloody father didn’t notice, and he’s a fucking cop! What the fuck is wrong with our fucking family!”

Theseus didn’t know what to say.

He could only repeat, weakly, “It wasn’t your fault.”

“Credence has to go to therapy now,” Percival sneered. “He’s bloody nine. I can’t fucking believe this.”

“At least she’s been arrested,” Theseus said without great conviction, feeling weaker by the second in the face of such pain. He was a bit better than his brother Newt was when it came to understanding people, but he was still young, and he wished he knew what to say to make Percival feel better. His words sounded empty to his own ears, threads of hope they hung onto to ignore the fact that Credence was fucked over, and that Percival’s family was being torn apart once more. “There’s been too much evidence of abuse, it was even in the newspapers. Her own daughters will have to find a new home.”

“Thank God for that,” Percival muttered. “I don’t even want to imagine what they went through.”

Silence fell again.

“And she seemed okay, you know?” Percival said after a while. “Hell bent on religion, that’s for sure, but Queenie Goldstein is pretty much the same about being jewish and she’s the most adorable person to ever exist. Right? I trusted that cunt. I paid that cunt, and this is what we get.” He shook his head. “Didn’t want to follow my dad's footsteps just out of principle, but I think I fucking will. If only to notice such scum in the world before it’s too late and get rid of it. A policeman.” He smiled and looked at Theseus. “How does Officer Graves sound?”

“...Sexy,” Theseus admitted with a sigh. “Look, Percy - I’m sorry this is happening to you.”

Percival shrugged again. “Not your fault. I’m sorry for being such a shitty friend and roommate.” He swallowed his coffee in three gulps and gagged. “Motherfucker, that shit’s cold! Disgusting!”

Despite himself, Theseus laughed. “Alright, drama queen. Don’t forget your croissant. Left it on the counter.”

“Not hungry,” Percival said as he rose up.

“Baby, you need to eat.”

“Pet names won’t make me want to eat more or sleep with you, mate,” Percival said, but Theseus could see the hint of a genuine smile on his face.

“Can’t keep a guy from hoping. Seriously though - I don’t care if you hit me in my sleep or some shit, I’m a tough guy, can handle a few kicks and all that jazz. I just don’t like hearing you go crazy when I know I could help. Not to mention, I think the room next to ours might hate us just a bit if this continues.”

Percival snorted. “Last time, we heard them fucking till two in the morning, they can handle my screaming.”

“Well I can’t,” Theseus said. “To be perfectly honest, I’d rather hear you fucking.”

Percival laughed, and Theseus felt happiness bloom in his heart. He’d made him smile!

“I’d rather be fucking as well,” Percival said at last with a grin. His cheeks were pink as he looked at Theseus, and Theseus was reminded that Percy looked way more adorable than he had the right to be. Theseus wanted to kiss him. “And I will once these exams are over.”

“Oh?” Theseus asked lightly. “And who will you be fucking?”

“My own hand, probably,” Percival said mournfully.

“Didn’t Seraphina ask you out?” Theseus frowned.

“Oh, right. Told her I wasn't interested.”

“Oh. Why?”

I mean it’s not much a shocker though, but this is funny as hell.”  You did not know what to do in all honesty, but all you knew was if looks could it wasn’t going to be from the guy in front of you. He was red yes also angry but there was a hint of embarassment which softened his angry filled features. “Jason shut up.” A voice pleaded and the guy next to Jason? smacked his chest making him stop. You decided to look towards the glass hoping to see your fathers reaction from there and sadly you couldn’t. So you looked at the guy seating in front of you. As you were about to say something he spoke, well more like mumbled: “Unbelievable just what I needed to be plagued by charity cases.” “Sorry to burst your bubble trust fund but you are not of my interest.”  You retorted “But wanna know what is? That chair that right behind you and the Snicker pie I managed to collect from dad. So if you’ll excuse me I’m going to sit.”  The guy scoffed and said: “Simple minded buffoon.” “Damian!” Was heard but from the man sitting to him and Bruce. Your father held the back of your shirt just in case things got more heated, but you looked at him with a smile letting him know that it was ok. “I’m so so sorry about what he said.” The man next to him apologized. Bruce tried to do the same but you let them know that it was fine and that you have been called worse. You apologize as well though saying that you should have just ignored him and proceed to sit. “Pst. Hey kid.” You look at the direction of the voice. “Why don’t you sit here next to me and Timbo here? Don’t worry about grumpy pants ok?” You look at them unsure and the guy called Timbo stands and gives you his hand to shake. “Tim.” He says smilling at you warmly. You shake his hand “[Name]”
