pretty.

From the moment he met you, Frank hadn’t been able to shut you up. He always knew exactly what was on your mind because you had no problem speaking it. For someone so small, you sure as hell had the confidence of someone his size, and the attitude to match. He was certain it looked comical every time he had to haul you out of a bar over his shoulder when you tried to pick a fight with some asshole three times your size. Other times though, he just sat back and watched with a grin. After all, sometimes those shitheads earned it.

If there was one person in this entire world Frank was scared to death to piss off, it was you. But, he got lucky in that your patience with him seemed to be limitless. As much as he had tried to keep you at arms length when you two first met, you weren’t having any of that shit, and very quickly had won him over. You very easily became one of his favorite people, and overtime he eventually got used to keeping up with you. 

But tonight, you were quiet. 

Frank couldn’t think of a time since he’d met you that you had ever been quiet. There was the one time you lost your voice from having a cold, but that didn’t stop you from furiously going through two entire notepads in a three day span. He thought he’d enjoy the silence, but honestly he had gotten so used to your voice that it was unnerving not being able to hear it. There was an immense sense of relief he felt once you could talk again, even if you did sound like you smoked forty packs a day for a while. 

You hadn’t said more than ten words since you showed up at Frank’s door thirty minutes ago with a full bottle of tequila that was steadily being depleted. He cocked his head to the side as he studied you, noting the intense look of concentration on your features as you sliced up another lime in perfectly proportionate wedges. 

“Did someone die?”

You immediately paused, whipping your head around to face him as your brows knit together in the center of your forehead in clear confusion.

“What?”

“Just wonderin’ if someone died.”

“Uh…not that I know of?”

“Then what the hell you bein’ so quiet for?”

“What are you talking about?”

Frank leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms over his chest, narrowing his eyes slightly as he studied your face.

“You’ve barely said a full goddamn sentence since you walked through that door, and you’re cuttin’ up that lime like you’re performin’ fuckin’ open heart surgery. Not to mention, that bottle was full thirty minutes ago.”

A scoff sounded from your lips as you squeezed the juice of one of the lime wedges into your glass and shrugged your shoulders.

“Yeah well, someone is a heavy handed bartender and likes their drinks strong.”

“You’re the one makin’ the drinks, sweetheart.”

Frank arched one of his brows with a smirk as you glared at him. Your lips parted as you went to retort, glancing between both of your glasses and the assembly line that you currently had going. You shook your head as you went back to fixing yourself another drink and flipped him off over your shoulder.

“Shut up.”

Frank rolled his eyes as he rubbed his palms down his face, eyeing you as you sat back down at the table across from him and sipped on your drink.

“Jesus, normally I can’t get you to shut the hell up and now I can’t get ya to talk to me? The hell’s that about?”

He could tell he was testing your patience by the way you narrowed your eyes and pursed your lips in displeased line.

“No one died, Frank.”

“Then what happened?”

“Nothing.”

“Bullshit.”

An exasperated groan left your lips as you set your glass on the table with a heavy thud, crossing your arms over your chest as you rolled your eyes.

“I had a shitty date last night and I wanted to drink about it. There. Will you quit being a dick now?”

Frank tensed up at the mention of the word date. 

Who the fuck did you go on a date with? Why didn’t you tell him? Since when were you dating? Wait…did you say-

“That bad?”

Your eyes instantly locked with Frank’s, and the emotion swirling around in them had him softening. You swallowed thickly and put your armor back up, rolling your eyes as you laughed dryly and downed another sip of your drink.

“I’ve had worse.”

As much as Frank didn’t wanna hear about you going on a date with some asshole, he did have a lot of questions.

“He uh…do somethin’?”

The nonchalance he had attempted had clearly failed by the smirk tugging at the corner of your mouth.

“Nothing that warrants you going all “Punisher” on him.”

Frank cocked his head to the side slightly as he stared at you, tensing his jaw as his fingers twitched in his lap.

Anyone even fuckin’ lookin’ at you the wrong way would warrant that.

The smirk on your lips quickly fell when you noticed Frank was seriously considering the validity of your words. You let out a deep exhale as you stared down into your glass, swirling the contents around slowly.

“Just…not his type I guess.”

“The hell’s that s’posed to mean? He say that?”

You held your hand up as Frank sat up a little straighter in his seat, shaking your head as you chuckled dryly to yourself.

“He didn’t have to.”

Frank’s face fell at the dejection in your tone, but he was impossibly confused. There was a layer of scarlet starting to burn on your cheeks, and you prayed Frank would think it was from the tequila and not from the embarrassing truth. 

“I…I’m just…not what he wanted, and that’s fine, you know? I just wish I would’ve stalked his social media before the date, because then I would’ve known better than to go. I mean…all his exes were these like super tall, thin, bombshell supermodel types, and that’s just…not me.”

There was a rage flowing through Frank’s veins that he hadn’t felt in a long time. As much as you were trying to play it off, he knew you were upset. He could see the way your eyes glimmered as you gazed down into your glass. 

“Whatever. He was boring anyway.”

“He sounds like a bitch.”

A loud laugh slipped past your lips as you spit out your drink, covering your mouth as you stared at him incredulously and tried to speak through your giggles.

“God Frankie, tell me how you really feel.”

No one had called him Frankie since Russo, and the first time you had, he froze. He hadn’t expected to like the way it sounded coming from your lips so much. He tried to pretend like it annoyed him every time you called him that, but he secretly loved it. It was something that now belonged only to you. He’d never let anyone else use it.

Frank shook his head as he finished off his own drink, setting the glass down on the table a little harder than he had to as he scoffed.

“Fuckin’ idiot was probably intimidated.”

“Intimidated? Frank, I can’t reach the top of my fridge without a step stool.”

“I’m not talkin’ ‘bout your height, smartass. I meant by you.”

There was an edge to Frank’s voice that stunned you quiet and had your giggles immediately disappearing. He seemed genuinely pissed off about something, and there was a flame flickering dangerously in his eyes. He stared at you quietly for a moment, seemingly trying to gather his thoughts. Shaking his head slowly, a tiny smile pulled at the corner of his mouth.

“You’re smart, I mean really fuckin’ smart. Sometimes too smart for your own damn good. You’re funny, and you ain’t even gotta try to be. You got the biggest goddamn heart out of anybody I ever met. I know you talk a big game and you’re ‘bout five feet and some change of pure sass, but you give a shit, ya’know? I mean you care ‘bout people, always goin’ out of your way for everyone and shit. I mean hell, you intimidate the shit out of me, and I’m a man. I can only imagine how much you terrified that little boy.”

Your mouth hung open as you processed Frank’s words. There was so much venom in that last sentence alone that you were nearly speechless. 

“I…you’re…contractually obligated to say that.”

“The hell I am.”

“Frank-”

“A boy wants a girl, sweetheart. But a man…a man wants a woman, yeah? And you, darlin’, are all woman.”

You’d be a fucking liar if you said you didn’t find Frank attractive. But you certainly never thought he would ever see you that way. You thought he tolerated you at best considering you practically forced your friendship on him. You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol simmering in your veins or his words buzzing in your ears, but there was something about the way he was looking at you right now that had warmth spreading throughout your lower half.

“I do.”

“What?”

Frank chuckled as a wolfish grin spread over his lips, nodding his head in your direction.

“You asked if I thought you were pretty.”

Your eyes doubled in size as your lips parted, blinking a few times to try and clear the drunken haziness that had started to cloud your judgment.

“Oh God…did I say that out loud? I don’t even-wait, what? You…you think I’m pretty?”

“I think you’re fuckin’ gorgeous.”

Frank tilted his head to the side slightly as he let his eyes wander shamelessly over your body, clearly pleased with your reaction to his confession. He used his boot to kick his chair away from the table a bit so that he could spread his legs out as he faced you directly. He gently patted his thigh with one of his large hands as he stared at you with a smirk spreading over his mouth.

“Now, why don’t you c’mere and let me show you just how pretty I think you are, sweetheart.”

also small announcement below the cut!!! especially considering ive been experimenting more with dead dove/nonconventional topics and themes.

first thing; i made a side blog for my dead dove and other extreme fics. the reason why i'm doing this is bc some people don't want to see that kind of stuff- and that's totally okay! and ik the filtering/blocking tags thing doesn't always work, especially for more "niche" topics.

i plan on branching out my repertoire by writing about topics that are "scary" or "new" to me- so this little counterpart to my blog will make it easier for me to post things that aren't typically sought after by the gen. pop. things like sickfics, whump, noncon, and other graphic or heavy themes.

in addition/addendum to that:

idk if this is common knowledge for any of my followers, moots, etc, but i have a severe phobia of vomit. like. huge. and at my big ass age of 21 (lol) i think it's time to start...getting through that fear. i've struggled with contamination OCD for a really long time and it's something i never thought id even try to overcome- but then i came across a creator on here who makes fetish art- which def wasn't something i was looking to encounter. but like a car crash, i couldn't stop looking at their work and i ended up coming across a post of theirs where they explain that they do what they do to get over their fear. at first i was fucking baffled as to how they couldn't manage to do that, but i get it now. taking something innately fucking horrifying and flipping the narrative so casually can be cathartic, and i finally after over a year of contemplation, gave it a whirl in my own writing. i mean, what better way to get over something by attacking it from my best angle??

typically this isn't something i'd ever consider doing. but...here we are. and i feel like im doing myself, and other people who feel the same way, a disservice by hiding this type of content in my notes app, never to be seen by anyone but me.

my blog has always been a safe space for the freaks and weirdos, and i want to keep facilitating that space while also keeping it enjoyable for all crowds. so by keeping a little separation between the two blogs, it'll ensure i feel comfortable, and others do too. i'm not gonna force everyone who follows me to come across some crazy fetish content they didn't sign up for, especially when previously i'd stated i don't write that kind of stuff. but alas people change and grow and i don't want to stifle myself from writing good things because im too afraid of judgement or my own insecurities.

i think kink is a very important thing in the fanfic world, because it allows the writer, as well as the audience, to connect on an even further level through the delivery of fetish content. as someone who hyperfixates on the development and accumulation of fetish and kinks, especially from a psychological level, this is something i was considering in the past- but not to this level, yk? like yeah, i could continue to just write sweet little hcs of softgaraki, and i love doing that, but also...like, i need these freak ass men to live their truths, and i need to live mine.

honestly? it could've been worse.

lots of things happened in 2023, both good and bad, in real life and on this hellsite. i feel like i've started to hone in on my voice as a writer this year, and my creativity and motivation just seemed to skyrocket for absolutely no reason. it's been fun sharing my work with you guys, and i'm forever grateful for all the love and support i have received <3 furthermore, thank you so so much for 4k followers!!!!! i never thought i would reach such a milestone, so it truly means a lot :')

there's a lot i wish i could have done during 2023 that i didn't end up doing, but i think it is best to focus on what i did accomplish and use that as a stepping stone towards better things. also, there were a lot of times where i didn't feel content with where and who i was. right now, however, i can confidently say that i am happy; i am hoping that happiness will be abundant for everyone in 2024! we all deserve it!!

furthermore, everyone worked hard, so i hope you all give yourself some grace in order to recharge and reset. taking breaks is paramount in maintaining your health and happiness, and i'm glad i learned that it's okay for me to take them lol.

I know, I know—it’s only been a few days since I started this on December 26th, and it might seem like there isn’t much to thank for yet, but hear me out. In just these few short days, I’ve been genuinely amazed by how much love and support I’ve received. The kind of response I’ve gotten feels like something I should be thanking the universe for, considering I’m still in my newbie phase of Tumblr. You all came through, and it honestly blew me away. Even though I didn’t expect anything this early on, you’ve made it feel like I’ve been part of this wonderful community for much longer.

I’ve always believed that when you start something new, no matter how small, it’s the people who make the experience worth it—and you guys have proven that in spades. Whether you’ve followed, liked, reblogged, or just casually checked out my posts, it means more to me than I can express. The fact that 65 (I’ve been on Tumblr for much longer, but I’m counting from the time I started gaining traction, which was after I began writing.) of you have decided to follow along this early on? That’s honestly crazy in the best way possible. It’s a little surreal, tbh, and makes me feel like I’m on the right track.

As someone who’s still figuring things out, your support has made all the difference, whether it’s been through a simple like or dropping a comment that made my day. I’m still getting used to everything, and the fact that you’ve been here for this small but meaningful start is something I will never take for granted.

So again, thank you—seriously, thank you. I’m excited to keep this journey going with all of you, and who knows, maybe I’ll end up embarrassing myself with some more quirky posts along the way. Alright. I'm gonna open up about some things cuz I think it'd be good for me. I kinda want some of my moots to see this so they understand me and what I'd want a little better. (The following is pasted from a vent I posted, so I have realized certain things or reflected—like I do understand not everyone's gonna magically know how I feel. That's kinda why I'm posting this. I think I just crave more of an understanding or gentle approach sometimes, or to be asked about how I felt more.)

To be honest, I feel like no one understands me cuz I don't talk about how I feel a lot, so people don't really get what I need, and as a result I feel worse and worse. I always crave affection from other people cuz I feel reminded that others care about me whenever it happens, but at the same time it feels selfish. And it feels selfish to want more anytime I'm given affection. Anytime someone gives me affection without me giving it to them first, I get all happy and start to crave that feeling more. The urge to be held by my friends or treated gently like I'm not literally fifteen and aging is a bit too strong sometimes.

I only like being treated gently because I genuinely don't know what I'm doing sometimes. Unironically, being treated like a kid who can be gently corrected on certain things is sometimes the way I wanna be treated even though I know I'm a teenager and I'm growing up and can't always be treated like I'm below the age of 5. Maybe it's the feeling of understanding and comfort and security that I miss?? I dunno. Anytime I'm treated like I'm younger than I really am, it makes me feel like I'm cared about or like maybe everything is okay. And admittedly, there's just some ways I think or some bad habits that I can't help—and some things that I wanna say but don't say because I don't wanna hurt anyone. I think this is mainly cuz ever since I've gone onto Reddit, I've been told a lot of hurtful things or misunderstood just because people got pissed off at me for literally the littlest things or things I didn't know could be offensive. Honestly, if I went onto a vent reddit and placed this here, I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me to just grow up or get over myself.

I'unno. I kinda feel like letting everyone I know—know this about me. I think maybe if I do, people will get me a bit better. I'm not asking people to treat me like a kid if they don't think that's what's best for me, but I just wish people reached out to me more is all. I know not everyone can be magically understanding and automatically know when somethings wrong with me—I just wish I was asked about more sometimes. Or just seen as a kid. I am a kid. And I'm supposed to be growing up. But I wanna be treated like I'm still one if only for a little longer. I unno. I'm feeling a bit choked up as I write this.

Honestly, I think a lot of it has to do with how much I relate to him. He’s really special to me because he’s a character I can really see myself in. I’m Mexican, but something about him being half fae and half human really resonates with me. Maybe it’s because I’ve lived in the United States for so long, that it’s become a part of me somewhat. His issues with his identity is part of his charm, and mean a lot to me because it’s just so…. Realistic and deep lol. I cry about Sebek sometimes because he is just so tragic.

He’s just a loud, passionate boy who loves his family!!!!! He has a superiority complex!! It was influenced by the people around him!!! By his family!!! By his community!!!! People hate his human side!!! HE hates his human side!!!! He was a late bloomer!!! His ears are round!!! It’s a sign of everything he hates!!! Everything he hates about himself!!! His best friend is a human!!!! And he was able to do magic faster than him!!!! The people he idolizes love silver and give him so much attention!!! He’s the focus of attention and Sebek is left struggling!!! He gets the crumbs and he has to fight for recognition!!!! He values what he can get because he has to work for it!!! It’s so scarce!!! He wants to be strong!!! But his hatred for himself is so strong it interferes with his daily life!!! He latches on the bits of identity that mean so much to him because without them he feels lower than everyone else. He’s going through so much it hurts 😭😭😭 he’s just a boy 😭😭😭 he’s just 16 and it’s like the worlds against him 😭😭😭 he’s so loud , he can’t control his volume. Literally everyone hates him because of it. Because he’s so stubborn too. Because he’s so blunt. Because of the hatred that was drilled into him since he was young. That humans are lesser than and because he’s half human it affected him so much!!!!!! AOFUFJFHFJDHFHFHF HE MAKES ME SO SAD 😭😭😭😭 I KNOW IM JUST EXPLAINING HIS STORY BUT ITS SUCH A BIG PART OF WHY I LOVE HIM

HES ALSO SOOOO SILLY!!???!???????? He does silly things and he’s kinda dumb 😭 he thinks he knows everything but he doesn’t 😭😭 he gets tricked by Lilia so easily and it’s funny but it’s also so TRAGIC TO ME???? LIKE HELLO???! HES SO GULLIBLE??!!?! ESPECIALLY WITH PEOPLE HE RESPECTS?!?!?? 😭😭😭 Lilia pranks him so much and Sebek just accepts it. I swear Lilia (or malleus) could tell him to jump off a cliff and he would do it. It drives me insane how sad it is. LIKE OHHH MYYY GODDDDDDD 😭😭😭😭 HE JUST WANTS APPROVAL HE WANTS SOMEONE TO GIVE HIM A PAT ON THE BACK AND TELL HIM HE IS GOOD AT SOMETHING. ANYTHING. HE WANTS RESPECT. AND HE TRIES TO GET IT THE ONLY WAYS HE KNOWS HOW. 😭😭😭😭

But yeah he’s also really comedic and has funny scenes.. he is just a silly dumb 16 year old boy so ofc he has goofy moments. also he’s just really nice to look at. I adore his design… I think his hair is very pretty especially with it down… his slick back hair suits him and his character…. AOUFH HIS HAIR IN GENERAL IS SOOO IMPORTANT TO ME….. his lightning motif…. It’s so good.. HIS CUTE LITTLE SMILE :} AOUFH….. the cutest boy ever

He’s very expressive and emotional and overreacts and AOUFHHH he’s just like me for real….
