reading that "Blizz knocked out, lost memories" question made me remember my "OCvee" Hope the shiny sylveon and how I literally just snatched the "character gets amnesia and is completely different" from Blizz lmaooo. tbf i thought Blizz was evil when he was in the plex??? but recently i think not and he was actually the good guy?? idk. Dusk and Vay tell different stories.

anyway, why not tell Hope's edgy nonsensical backstory? her dad was a shiny that had a special gene that made all his kids shinies, so Hope and her bro Dream were shinies. but mom was a normal eevee and had an older litter of non-shinies, and she was killed by the evil lab ppl because that's useless. they kept Hope and Dream (they didnt have names at this point actually) together for a bit, putting them through extreme tests (idk why??? just to be evil?? they were trying to make them super obedient soldiers, like how Dusk described old Blizz at one point i think?), but at some point they got separated and Hope was devasted. she got put under super harsh conditions as the 'stronger' vee while Dream went off to.... not sure actually? i know he HAS kids with a shiny vulpix (one shiny eevee, two shiny vulpix/ninetales), but i dont know if thats cause he became a breeder vee or if he fell in love with the vulpix idk. i think both, and he had other kids but theyre not important/got taken away from him.

the mention of older non-shiny vee litters is important because one of those vees was Cream!!! who named himself that cause he has creamy fur. he saw the death of his mom and was very sad (even tho i think his mom was the one who tore half his face off? he has half his face ripped or burned off or something, blind and deaf in one eye/ear, but i canNOT remember how/why), but he (somehow??) discovered his younger (by like. a month? idk) siblings, or at least Hope. he wanted to save her/comfort her, so after her bro was taken away Cream was always there to talk to her between tests! (no clue why the scientists never... stopped him?? cause he was cute maybe lmao) but Hope Did Not Care For Him. ignored him most days, tolerated him on best days, and berated and attempted to attack him on worst days. sure, there were a few instances where she may have been kinder, but mostly she was just. the worst.

she was all edgy and cruel because, on one hand she had a bunch of experiments done on her, and on the other, she also was forced to fight a whole lot, and straight up murder other pkmn. like genuinely if you were told you were going to fight her, it was a death sentence. she was a killing device, because they were also trying to hone her unique powers (she knew moves that eevees cant know, ghost type i believe, which actually came from her mom who turned into a zombie/ghost idk. the details are fuzzy to me).

so one day Cream hears word of a group of escaping vees who've caused chaos, and Cream thinks this is the perfect opportunity to escape since the scientists are all frazzled. Hope ignores him at first but when she realizes she can actually escape, she bolts. Cream tries to help lead her, but she DOES NOT CARE or listen to his instructions, she's just running. at one point Cream tries to stop her and tell her there are vees that can help them over yander, and she just straight up kills him before he finishes his sentence. cause yeah.

and then i honestly have no idea what happens. right after killing her half-bro, she gets knocked out (falling? running into something? attacked by a mon? i think it might have been by the main vee Glaceon) and she. forgets literally everything. not only that but all her trauma, physical and mental, is magically gone somehow even tho amnesia cant erase patterns on the brain like that (well. it can but not blunt force trauma-induced amnesia usually i dont think).

she gets found by the other escaping vees, and taken in by the nicknamed Dee, an old eevee who is the father of most of the other vee-lutions in the group. her dad names her Hope because she "holds no trauma from that evil place and shows what our future could be." at first she's kind of quiet and odd, but slowly she opens up and becomes super hyper and happy and overly joyful, always wanting to put a smile on everyone's face. she even evolves into a sylveon because of this happiness and affection. no one in the group knows about her past, and think she's just some fortunate shiny vee that escaped (except maybe the Glaceon vee, who keeps a lot of secrets and is still in contact with the lab, and also 100% knows Hope has an obvious tracker on her ear, but doesnt say anything about it bcus Hail [the glaceon] knows that theres a tracker in his body too anyway). the only thing Hope can remember is the faint memory of a happy, laughing eevee that she knows is a) her brother and b) named "...ream." ...which is how she gets the idea that she has a brother named Dream.

sucks to be Cream, I guess.

Asa Emory hcs while I cry

This man works consistently. He's a college professor but one of those lazy ones where he hands out an assignment more than the bare minimum for grades, but fuck does he feel the need to do research and he still works on his collection a lot

He's a dog person!! He loves dogs. Small, annoying ones he swears he hates? He gives them little pats and everyone wonders why all of a sudden their dog doesn't bark at him specifically. He actually likes dogs that are on the smaller side of medium the most! (20-40 lbs) He feels like his germam shepherds are more specifically for guarding than anything. They're not exactly "pets" to him but he still loves and cares about them

He actually really enjoys spending time with his dogs. Petting them helps him destress and he often vents to them. Not to mention german shepherds in general are extremely keen and aware of their owners emotions. If he's stressed, both of his dogs sit near him and wait until he's ready to be pet. He takes pride in brushing their coats and clipping their claws. His dogs are the epitome of a breed standard and could win in any competition. He gets his dogs from breeders that screen for any health conditions, breed specifically for working dogs and are ethical.

He actually doesn't even really like german shepherds. He wanted a doberman at first, but with the fact that they can get blisters on their ears during training if not cropped, he opted for a different breed. He didn't wanna go through taking care of the ears after being cropped

The names of his beloved dogs are Vincent (from Pulp Fiction) and Hal (2001: A Space Odessy)

He loves movies! Iconic movies that started generations and changed the industry for years are so interesting to him. He has a love for all genres, as long as the plot is good and there's good acting he's all in. This can lead him to like some more childish movies like Rango 2011 but he doesn't care. His favorite genres are sci fi and gangster/mob movies tho. Still very snobby about what media he consumes. Hates cliche 2000s movies. You know the vibe they all had. More modern movies he would enjoy would be things like Marriage Story, Gerald's Game and Her. He doesn't really like documentaries unless they're on bugs or crimes

He hates coffee. He hates the bitterness. He hates everything about it. But something has to keep him up and active. This led to a caffeine addiction. I've seen the hc that he only drinks it black but that is FALSE (jk you're allowed to hc whatever you want) He takes his coffee with a lot of sweetener and specifically hazelnut creamer. Hs doesn't use sugar because he's aware that putting too much can give him a sugar crash.

He makes coffee at home in the morning because he refuses to go to Starbucks and takes it to work in a thermos. He gets his second cup from a locally owned café that's quiet enough for him to do his work and priced reasonably enough for him to buy lunch when he forgets to pack it (by forgets i mean he really just wants to eat a giant blueberry muffin for lunch but can't bring himself to bake)

Actually decent at cooking. He's not a master chef and wanting to be time efficient often leads him to microwave premade meals, but mans can in fact cook to an extent. He usually just makes grilled chicken and broccoli but he's known to throw down a mean steak

Smokes weed. I will not elaborate. You can't take this hc away from me. You'll have to pry it out of mt cold, dead hands and I'll wake back up and punch you in the jaw

Hates loud noises. He gets upset and overwhelmed by a lot of loud noises very easily. It's part of the reason he hates when his victims scream or talk to him too much. It reminds him of his chaotic household from his childhood

Because of said childhood he's a light sleeper. He's scared someone is gonna show up. This has never happened and won't because he specifically has one of the dogs outside and one sleeping in his room. They trade spots everyday. He doesn't want it to be unfair and if it's too cold/hot or raining he has them both sleep on the floor in his room. He hates the smell of wet dog

He's actually capable of love. Like I said before, he cares about and loves his dogs to an extent. That's it. He can love things, his insects, his dogs and even his s/o to an extent. There's no unconditional love. There's no "I'd go to the ends of the world to make you happy". It's very conditional and he doesn't get close attachments. If he let his s/o go or if they died he would be sad for a while but would move on fairly quickly. He doesn't care that much. It's not a total loss to him. With that being said, he definitely shows his love in smaller ways. Holding hands, cuddling, eye contact, just being around in general. Even little gifts. They're typically useful gifts and not just a stuffed animal or flowers or chocolates. He also takes what you say to heart. You really think the shirt he has on is that bad? First of all fuck you, but you're right. He stops wearing it. You really enjoy when he rubs his thumb on your hand while he holds it? He's doing it every time now

Asa is seemingly unemotional. He holds back smiles. He rarely cries and he rarely laughs. It only happens when he's tired, high or drunk. Or if he's taken by surprise. His father is still in the back of his mind telling him he's not man enough. Whatever the hell that means smh

Bugs aren't his only passion! He likes sculpting and pottery! Tiny figures and vases stand on a shelf in his living room. He quite enjoys them even if they're crudely painted. He also likes training dogs. Granted this only applies to drugged up humans and dog breeds that enjoy being trained and worked. He hates challenges

He likes shopping for antique decorations. I mean, we've all seen his house

He gives me bi vibes. He's bisexual. Idc what anyone else has to say. He's suppressed it for a while but when he finally came to terms with it he's fairly comfortable with his attraction. He simply doesn't care

His type is honestly just different. He typically doesn't like people that look like everyone else he's seen a million times over. He wants someone new. Someone fresh. He wants to see flaws and scars and birthmarks and some chub and eyebags and some acne. It makes him feel better lowkey

He likes talking. He's not vocal about his feelings or emotions but he likes to ramble about a new dog breed he thinks would go great after his german shepherds pass. How different the human anatomy is. How his day went. He likes complaining most of all smh

bcus Sun and Moon was one of the more recent I’ve played I decided to go with that theme-ish mostly just amusing myself here lbr I was gonna doodle them all but I am...lazy and not sure where I put my tablet SO.

Reese just moved to Alola and is mad abt it but whatever he’s still going to have his pkmn journey damnit. His mom gives him 900 tubes of sunscreen as his travel package.

He gets Bubbles the poppilo as his starter, Comfort the gyarados is a gift from his mother who has had her since she was a magikarp. The rest he finds along the way, Calanthe the flabebe, Snuggles the vulpix, Verdant the dhelmise and Spooks the Mimikyu. (you can tell which he named himself and which he got suggestions for I’m SURE. Tho I mean his mom named a magikarp Comfort so like. Maybe it runs in the family.)

Penniah has lived in Alola all his life and its super excited to lead the new kid around. Pen is a bit older and thus a little more experienced. (a whole half a year, like lbr here they’re 10 that's YEARS to them)

He chooses Lychee the rowlet as his starter, Magnolia the furfrow is a gift from his dad and Keahi the marowak is a gift from his mom. The others he catches along the way, Kale the shiny buneary who hates him with all the anger contained in his tiny bunny form and is a constant disaster in battle. Apikalia the hawlucha and Peni the pancham are his newest additions.

Niko has recently moved back to alola after having been away idk where don’t ask me. Currently kind of floating around not sure what he’s going to do with himself he kinda tags along on the kids journey but like to the side so they don’t 100% realize he’s keeping tabs on them. He has a perfectly crafted reason to be wherever they find him each time, its infuriating. Young adultish age and like still an anxious ptsd mess tho honestly idk how that would come abt in a pkmn setting.

Lizhu the shiny manectric is a Good Girl™, she’s a trained ptsd doggo and is extremely protective of her mess of a trainer. She’s never in her pokeball and at this point Niko probably doesn’t even know where he put it. She probably hid it. (its buried in Tek’s yard somewhere.) Uilani the raichu is a trouble maker but doesn’t mean any harm. She’s Niko’s first choice in battle even though she’s as likely to play tricks as listen. Orb the natu was a gift he got while away and he won’t really talk about where he got him but the natu is v attached to him & Ridi and prefers to be carried at all times. Aloalo the oricorio is the first pokemon he caught upon his return to Alola they’re still figuring each other out. Konani the skarmory and Ekewaka the golem are Niko’s oldest pokemon caught when he did his own journey around the islands.

Ridi (Niko’s daughter, adopted) despite not quite being old enough to start her journey she doesn’t let that stop her and bullies her way into tagging along with Reese and Pen, which is like 90% of the reason Niko is following them too but he wouldn’t admit to that. Niko is kinda vague when asked about the details of adopting her but also obviously adores her so most people just let the subject drop. Ridi wants to be the best EVERYTHING which like, shes 8 so ofc she does but Niko is also a giant softy so he is 100% encouraging of her determination.

Orb the natu is Niko’s gift to Ridi when she convinces him that she’s going to tag along with Pen and Reese. Tbh she probably catches the rest despite her age bcus that’s who she is ngl. Sylveon was probably a gift as an eevee.

Tektite (Pen’s dad) idk what he’d been in this AU tbh. Like, law enforcement of some kind? Probably caught up in trying to deal with team Skull? Private investigator? Idk. whatever.

admittedly loosing my attention here with naming everyone’s pokemon WHOOPS. Espeon is def a gift from his wife and he is a spoiled little SHIT. Porygon is his fave bud tho ofc he wouldn’t admit to having a fave. Magnemite WILL paralyze you don’t tempt him. Absol and Houndoom are a power couple and better than u in every way. 

Dailesa (Pen’s mom) probably like a rescue/breeder type person? Rescuing abandoned pokemon or something? Likes the less ‘cute’ pokemon, hasn’t competitively battled in years but would most likely fuck u up.

tbh I assembled her team mostly under the ‘doesn’t really appeal to me so it’ll appeal to her aesthetic’. Shiinotic is her first choice in battle bcus I said so. Rockruff is her most recent rescue not usually her style since hes cute but hey.

Suha, ok I’m just being self indulgent at this point I have no idea how Suha and company would fit in this AU maybe something to do with the Aether foundation I really don’t know ok. There’s a cult somehow somewhere for these nerds ok? Good.

I found my tablet and did actually doodle these guys aside from Sylveon bcus he’s hard to draw. (ignore that Suha’s lap is like huge, ok. idk abt their names. Suha is probably more creative than 10yr old Reese but like who knows. I am obv not creative so.)

Whatever life they lead in this AU I’m sure Ellison is still under his father’s thumb and doing his dirty work for him. While still probably being hopelessly in love with Suha. I’m sure its fine.

Elias, (Ellison’s dad) def still terrible, self serving and narcissistic I’m sure.
