hey sorry I'm gonna talk about uprising to you my beloved longterm mutual 💕 newts possession thing could have worked so well if like. it was treated as a possession thing. like "hey here's this genius. he is being slowly brainwashed and possessed over the course of ten years by an alien hivemind from another dimension" like conceptually that rules but in the film it's mostly treated as "yeah its the same guy he's just evil now" like!!!

me if they let me behind the scenes of uprising: let him be clearly Not A Person in the scenes where there's no other people around. weird struggles with being confined to a human body vs having Someting Else in your human body. more shit like the pronoun confusion in that one scene (trans rights) Like just watch the exorcist or something please. please. also mako and jake should copilot and work on their family trauma and be siblings but thats the rest of this bad movie

Also YES I AGREE. obviously possessed newt would have made for a WAY better movie, but theyre were too concerned with maintaining the plot twist. Once youve watched it once it completely loses its value which is, like, the worst kind of plot twist, because instead of being built up to its just an “aha we tricked you!” moment

Also YES there should have been more about mako and jake being siblings like!!! And also What the fuck was up with his whole character backstory. Hated it. I have so many better ideas bc im not a coward and they should have hired me
