do you guys think that part of the reason Gideon’s death was so devastating to Harrow was that before then, there had at least been one person who survived the mass murder that created her? two hundred souls had been destroyed for her sake, but the annihilation wasn’t complete — there was one who escaped. one who lived. do you think Gideon dying, for the sake of Harrow living, snuffed out her one last glimmer of hope for absolution?

I really don't wanna draw some more but my kids are on my mind so OC Rambles
Also since whenever I mention I wanna ramble about Cinomed Chronicles y'all usually say/have said in the past you'd be glad to listen I hope you don't mind me tagging you in this: @surohsopsisofclouds @a-soul-among-the-stars
I mentioned recently Dani doesn't like mouth on mouth kisses
Taylor and Jeremiah take advantage of this and kiss him everywhere else and see which spots make him blush more
So far it's been his nose, his knuckles/palm, and the space between his wings
Dani is actually so much lighter than Jeremiah even though Jeremiah is t i n y
Most Dali are actually really lighter than Jeremiah, weighing between 60-80lbs
Also whenever I talk about my OCs as groups they go by these names usually : Angelic Trio = Taylor, Dani, Jeremiah ; OG Trio = Evanna, Marie, Leona
Taylor and Dani are around equal height but Taylor's much stronger than him
Taylor and Jeremiah do have powers but they need these special bracelets Jeremiah helps make that's infused with some magic from some Dali in order to actually use it
Their powers also all correlate with all of Angel's abilities. Angel's abilities encompass the most common abilities that Dali have(Weapon summoning, Barrier, and Healing)
Taylor = Barrier ; Jeremiah = Healing ; Dani = Weapon summoning
When the Angelic Trio met, Taylor and Jeremiah got along fine. But they really didn't like Dani and Dani really didn't like them
Dali don't trust humans all that much. Humans in this story are really fucking annoying sometimes
Taylor loves history, especially the history of Fahndali it's just,,,, retaining that info is what she really doesn't like doing cause it just won't stay in her head
So she has many notebooks stuffed under her bed in Tongyi that are crammed with as much info as she feels is necessary
Jeremiah loves the ocean and it's the only geographic thing he'll learn about
Dani is a huge nerd when it comes to mythology/folklore and loves how some/most stories incorporate history
He's very happy when Taylor and Jeremiah give him Greek, Norse, and Irish mythology books for his birthday one year and he talked about all he read to anyone who would listen
Everyone in the Angelic Trio loves cuddling but sometimes being around each other is too much, so they all have separate rooms in the castle
The first time Dani visits Earth, it's mid-winter in Arizona and he learns that he despises the cold
Taylor teases him for weeks after he was still complaining with a bunch of layers on
Leona is very small. She's probably a few inches taller than Jeremiah
She is also very very strong.
Leona and Taylor both really don't like wearing dresses
Dani honestly doesn't mind wearing dresses, he finds them really pretty and the looks on Taylor and Jeremiah's faces are amazing whenever he chooses to wear one
They need a moment to let their minds start working again
Jeremiah has nicknames for them b o t h and it makes Taylor and Dani, who are both terrible at romance, just melt
Taylor once dated a cannibal; the rest of the Sydney family still teases her all the time about it
His name was Vic and in all honesty he wasn't the worst guy Taylor's gone out with
He's actually useful to the plot later in the story too, and has a girlfriend and kid. Taylor and Vic act like they usually did when they meet for the first time in y e a r s
Evanna has been proposed to by 11 different people throughout her life and rejected them all cause no one could get it into their heads that she wasn't interested in getting hitched to anyone
Before Erin got married, everyone in Tongyi honestly thought that he and Evanna would get together. Or that he'd at least be her consort so she'd have an heir
So much shock when that didn't happen
I really love Erin and Evanna's friendship, they can act like an old married couple or like newly weds when it comes to their banter and affection but they both know the other will never feel romantic feelings with the other
Also Erin's wife finds it really cute whenever she sees Erin kiss Evanna's forehead or cheek cause that's just What He Does
Kord, Marie's older brother, was a homophobic ass for awhile
But then he found out his wife was Pan and started to actually get educated on LGBTQ+ stuff and then apologized profusely to his sister for almost a year bc of how he acted
Also he was ready to kill a bitch once he found out Leona tried to kill Marie on multiple occasions
Leona does protect his daughter in the end tho so he reconsiders his opinion on Leona
Kord might be one of the only straight OCs I have
Vic considers himself Queer, Erin is Pan, Aki is Aro/Ace, Angel is Agender and Bi, Evanna is Aro/Ace, Serranidae is Lesbian, Leona's Lesbian, Marie is Bi, etc.
There might be one other straight girl(I don't have a name for her though) but she also might not be straight, still deciding
Oh, the elderly ladies of the Sydney family approve greatly of Dani and Jeremiah when they meet them. They keep hinting that they should all tie the knot
It also might be because if Taylor married Dani then it means she becomes part of the royal family but they don't actually say that
Aki is the only Cinomed that's gonna receive a redemption arc. He's gonna be the only one that lives
Really the only thing that changes about him is he stops performing experiments on humans, Dali, Werewolves, and dragons
I have only one OC whom I truly despise, and his name is Gideon Hayes and he's the exact type of human being that I would gladly punch and watch die a slow painful death
Actually wait there's two- Keegan Francis is the other for very similar but also very different reasons
Evanna and Leona both have very similar secrets- Leona's is a lot more dark and Evanna's is really really important towards the end of Cinomed Chronicles
I used to really hate Deathstriker, but looking at most of my antagonists she's really not the worst one
Don't get me wrong, she's still a shitty shitty human but Rikki, Gideon, Keegan, and Serranidae are all far worse. She's just a bit higher than Aki level of awful
I think I've mentioned this before but I don't remember- the Mays royal family(Evanna's family) is the only family of Dali to have red hair, so when Dani comes to rule Tongyi it's weird for everyone to see a member of the Mays family have brown hair
(Members not related by blood don't usually end up ruling unless they're the only family member left, however that means that their child has died and so has never really happened in the past)
Everyone just kinda accepts that Evanna adopted instead of having a blood heir, and they just have to accept that the Mays bloodline is coming to an end(or so they think) even though the family name will still remain in the family
Neva Sydney is actually part Dali, but no one is sure to what extent. Her soul-seeing ability seems to stem from that heritage
Human/Dali hybrids are crazy powerful and no one knows why, not even Aki when he tests on Neva(with permission)
Neva has a QPR with Nezu and a boy named Tyler when they're older
Taylor at one point in the story has 2 and 1/3 souls in her body, and it's bloody torture and she punches Aki when it's all over
Despite Aki being the main source of a lot of Taylor's problems she's the first to trust him and forgive him
Cinomeds are usually much taller than the average Dali(Dali are usually around 6.5 feet, Cinomeds being 7.5-9 feet) but Aki is actually pretty short, standing around 6 feet

Dreams, Rings & Other Things
Summary: Emma and Snow talk about the wish world and the secret Emma thinks Hook is hiding.
A/N: Written despite the fact that I should be working on my CSBB fic. Has some mild speculation for 6x12, and references to a certain ring saw in the 6b promo.
Read on Ao3!
Emma eyed the bottle of rum carefully before sitting it aside, deciding that the hot chocolate she was serving didn’t need to be spiked. She lifted both mugs and walked carefully back to the sofa, waiting as her mother finished putting her little brother in his crib. Her father had finally kissed her awake, and was sleeping peacefully – well, as peacefully as one can sleep while cursed – in bed.  Snow White had been none too happy to learn just how long she had been asleep, and Emma could feel the tension radiating off her as she padded around the loft. Not that Emma could blame her. She would be livid if Killian had kept her under during a crisis, as well.  Her mother’s anger was why Emma was still at the loft. Emma recognized that Snow needed a distraction of some sorts, and she was willing to provide it. Regina was acclimating Robin to Storybrooke, and Henry and Killian had gone off to do their own thing – “We’re bonding, Mom,” Henry had said with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes – leaving just Emma and Snow alone. Not that Emma minded. She enjoyed one-on-one time with her mother. With all the crises that occurred, it was all too rare.  Finally, Neal was settled and Snow practically collapsed onto the sofa, gratefully taking the hot chocolate Emma offered. “I needed this. Is there anything chocolate can’t cure?” Choosing not to answer her mother’s question, Emma instead asked, “So how are you doing?”
“Angry. Annoyed. Bitter. Thinking up the most effective way to kill your father.” Snow laughed, the sound somewhat hollow. “I don’t want to talk about me. How are you? Your father and I aren’t the only ones with a lot going on.” “I’ve decided that no one decides my fate but myself,” Emma answered with a shrug. The wish world had taught her a lot about herself, and her battle with Gideon only renewed that hope that things could be different. Emma knew she was going to die someday, but she didn’t want that to control her. Besides, with thing changing, so could her vision.  “But that wish world – is that what you called it? – had to be different,” Snow commented. Upon waking, Emma and Killian had given a short explanation for everything that had happened while she was asleep. Her mother hadn’t pried too much about the alternate reality upon first hearing Emma’s story. She had been far too concerned over the fight with Gideon. But, now it seemed to capture her attention.   Emma paused, choosing to take a long sip of her drink to mull over her reply. Her mother had always dreamed of what life would be like had Regina not enacted the Dark Curse, damning them all to decades of separation. How would she react to knowing that Emma had hated the person she could have been?  “It was…perverted,” Emma said finally. She hugged her mug closer to her, tapping her fingers against the porcelain as she weighed her words. “It was a wish, and you know how wishes can distort things, even good things.”
“So you’re saying it sucked,” Snow commented, her voice somewhat amused.
“I’m saying I sucked,” Emma corrected. Her mother cut in, arguing that she could never suck, but Emma shook her head. “No, I mean, I sang in field of flowers and cried at a moment’s notice. I had literally no fight in me. I was happy, but in a weird Stepford princess sort of way.” Emma watched as her mother considered her explanation. She hoped Snow did not press her for more information. Emma didn’t want to explain being forced to watch her parents die, and the wish version of herself doing nothing. She shuddered at the memory.  Thankfully, Snow didn’t press further. Surprisingly, her lips quirked into a conspiratorial smile, and she asked, “So…how bad was the singing?” Emma made a noise that was half-laugh and half-groan. That was another memory she would rather suppress for entirely different reasons. “Think full Disney princess before the movies got a feminist revamp. Sleeping Beauty on steroids.” Snow was clearly trying, and failing, to suppress a giggle. “Okay, then, you were singing Disney princess. What about your brother? Did he sing as well? Or was he still a baby?” Emma glanced over the bassinet where Neal was sleeping. She felt a pang of guilt when she thought of his role in her wish world, one similar to what she felt when she considered Killian’s and Belle’s fates. “He didn’t exist. I was an only child.”
“Oh.” “It’s not that I intentionally wished him away,” Emma said quickly, feeling as if she needed to explain. She might have felt resentment when he was first born, but she never would have wished him away. “I love him, you know I do. Especially now that he no longer wakes me up every night.”
“I know, sweetheart. Like you said, wish perversion.” Snow reached out with her free hand in a comforting manner, clasping Emma’s in her own. “Besides, don’t tell your brother, but I love him a lot more now that he’s beginning to sleep through the night.”
Emma laughed, her guilt slowly ebbing away. “Oh, so I move out and he sleeps through the night? I see how it is!”
“Maybe he’s grateful to no longer being woken up by you sneaking back in at odd hours after spending the night with Hook.” Her mother had the audacity to wink, and Emma felt a blush quickly spread across her face.  Teasing about staying overnight with a boyfriend was something that she would have done with Mary Margaret, roommate, but felt awkward with Snow White, the mother. But on some level it felt nice to have a mother to tease her about her romantic life. The Snow White of the wish realm would have certainly skirted around the issue, at the very least. Not that Emma’s own wish version would be sneaking out to cavort with pirates.  “How are things with Hook, by the way? I feel like we haven’t had the time to talk about what it’s like to have him actually living with you.” This time when Snow spoke, her question had the obvious undertones of a concerned mother wanting to ensure her daughter was happy. Emma appreciated the gesture. And, Emma was grateful Snow’s inquiry had none of the protectiveness that usually appeared whenever David questioned her relationship with Killian.   “What can I say? It’s True Love. It works really well. I’m happy,” Emma said, enjoying the flutter of happiness in her chest whenever she spoke of him. She wondered if her mother felt the same way when talking about her father. Probably not at the moment, Emma reasoned, remembering Snow’s earlier ire. She glanced down at the mug in her hands and flexed her fingers, debating if she should tell her mother of her inkling. Deciding her mother could use some excitement, Emma added, “Killian’s hiding something from me, though.”
“Oh, Emma,” her mother sighed. But then Snow’s eyes narrowed as she considered her daughter’s demeanor. “Wait a second. You don’t seem too upset about this.”
“Nope!” Emma tried her best to hide her giddy smile behind her mug. “He’s hiding a ring.”
To Emma’s surprise, her mother said nothing. Her eyes widened, her lips pursed, and she sat down her mug. “Are you sure?”
“Um, yeah. I found it. For a pirate, he is terrible at hiding things,” Emma said, her excitement beginning to deflate. Her mother was supposed to be happy. Emma had honestly expected her to be jumping up and down or doing something else completely motherly or embarrassing. “Mom, are you happy about this?”
“Oh, honey, how I feel shouldn’t matter,” Snow said quickly. “Are you happy about this?”
Emma looked down at her bare ring finger. She’d found the ring while putting away laundry. He’d thought that keeping it hidden in his sock drawer would be good enough. It was a pretty ring, a solitaire on a white gold (platinum?) band. Simple like she preferred. She’d nearly had a panic attack when she’d found it. Killian had bought a ring. He wanted a future with her – a forever, “for better or for worse” kind of future. Emma had always known that he wanted that on some level, but the ring made it all the more real. Just one more wonderful thing she could lose. And that was the thing – it was wonderful. Because as scared as she had been seeing that ring, she had been happy. Excited, even. Killian wanted to propose, and she wanted him to do it. She wanted to get married, to get married to him. And now that she was a master of her own fate, all that was left was waiting for him to ask.
“Yeah, Mom, I’m really happy.” That was when Snow acted as expect, practically tackling Emma into a hug. It took special maneuvering to not spill her mug of hot chocolate, and she sat it down on the coffee table in order to avoid any potential spillage.
“You’re getting married!”
“Not yet. He has to ask me first.”
“I’m so incredibly happy for you, Emma,” Snow said, and Emma could see tears brimming in her mother’s eyes. She felt her own eyes begin to sting.
“You could have told me that earlier, you know.”
“I know, I just didn’t want to pressure you either way,” Snow answered, and then she pulled Emma into another hug. “But if you’re happy, I’m happy.”
“I’m definitely happy,” Emma said, hugging her mother tighter. It felt nice to share this with someone. In the aftermath of Robin’s death, Emma hadn’t felt comfortable sharing much information about her relationship with Regina, feeling it would be unfair. Killian was much closer to Belle, and there was no way Emma was going to be talking about it to Henry, except in the abstract.
When they pulled apart, and after Emma had wiped her tears with her sweater sleeve, she noticed her mother once again wearing a conspiratorial smirk. “Okay, what are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking I’m not going to tell your father that his little girl is going to soon to be an engaged woman,” Snow replied, her smile positively wicked. “If he won’t trade duties during crises, I’m not going to trade happy secrets.”
Emma couldn’t help but laugh.

The Updated/Revised List of Rip Hunter’s Angst and/or Trauma on Legends of Tomorrow
So, a while back, I made a list of all of the horrible/traumatic shit that has happened (or has been established to have happened) to Rip Hunter on Legends of Tomorrow.  Because, honestly even for the lead on a CW show, this is a little ridiculous.
I’ve been updating that list via reblogs, but that’s getting a bit cumbersome, and I wanted to refine a few of the entries anyway.
So, here we go, an episode by episode list of angst or traumatic events (updated as of 2x14, Moonlight):
1x01/1x02 - The Pilot
1.  Rip Hunter starts off this series with a sledgehammer of angst in the form of his dead wife and child.  We also see that his family home is the site of the second London Blitz in an Apocalyptic future.  I possibly could space these events into separate entries.  But honestly, this list will be long enough without that.
2.  Rip has also been cast loose by the organization to whom he has devoted his life, an organization that apparently thinks that sending assassins to stop a grieving widower is more appropriate than sending a grief counselor.
3.  Rip Hunter has recruited a team of people who he cannot remotely control or keep in line.  And sadly, one of them dies, because he recruited him.  Rip is devastated enough by this to scrap his own plan to get Savage to reclaim his body.
1x03 - Blood Ties
4.  We learn that Rip made a previous attempt to go back in time to stop Vandal Savage, and hesitated.  A failure which haunts him to this day.
5.  During the course of fighting Savage, Rip slips and gives Vandal Miranda and Jonas’s names.
6.  There is an implication at least that some of Rip’s experiences as a Time Master were unpleasant (” I've seen men of steel die and dark knights fall, and even then I accomplished my mission no matter what.”)
1x04 - White Knights
7.  Rip meets up with his former mentor, Zaman Druce, a man that he respects and trusts considerably, who seems to be offering a reasonable deal.  Instead, it turns out to be an ambush.
1x05 - Failsafe
8.  Gideon’s records indicate that, with Martin’s capture, the Russians will unlock Firestorm and weaponize it for an invasion.  Rip asks Sara to be ready to kill Martin to save the world, if there is no other choice.  (It didn’t happen, but he still has to live with making that order)
1x06 - Star City 2046
I don’t think there is any specific angst in this episode.
1x07 - Marooned
9. We see more of Rip’s backstory with Miranda, and their treatment from the Time Masters when discovered, including fairly horrific public humiliation and Miranda's resignation.
10.  We get Eve Baxter’s reaction and rejection of Rip’s help.  Both personally humiliating and even worse as a representation of the Time Masters and his old colleagues/family.
11. We get the fight with Mick Rory, where Rip, after some provocation, says some inexcusable things, providing Mick with the trigger to betray the group.
1x08 - Night of the Hawk/1x09 Left Behind
There really isn’t any specific angst in these two episodes to add to the list.  Unless you count Rip’s old bosses turning Mick into Chronos...
1x10 - Progeny
12.  Going by Rip’s scene with Mick in the brig, he does seem to have some self-blame for Mick’s predicament.  As we see from the way he tries to take the blame and divert Mick’s anger onto himself.
13.  The Per Degaton blunder - in which Rip chooses not to kill the dictator that will murder 1/4 of the world’s population, and in the process, speeds up the event.
1x11 - Magnificent Eight
14.  We learn, in this episode, that at some point in his career, a younger Rip Hunter befriended Jonah Hex and engaged in some heroism.  However, he ultimately chose his career over love heroics, and left the town of Calvert to its fate.  A decision that clearly haunts him to present day, and makes him quite unwilling to face his old ...friend.
1x12 - Last Refuge
15.  Early backstory angst!  Rip Hunter was once a starving five year old street thief.  And while we have no details about that time, it was apparently bad enough that he grew the instinct to stab any adult that threatens him.
(In my first draft of this list, I noted that they’d probably given him this angst so he has something to suffer about when his family angst was finally resolved.  I HAD NO IDEA what was to come.)
16.  We learn that the Time Masters recruit their members as children.  Which means that they aren’t just Rip’s bosses, they’re also the people who raised him.  Getting raised by a creepy time cult that forbids attachment totally counts for this list.
17.  We also have guilt over the risks to both his crew’s loved ones and the extreme danger of the Omega Protocol, and this ridiculous temporary solution.  Which leads into a much riskier decision.
1x13 - Leviathan
18.  In this episode, we get that lovely revelation that Rip didn’t just watch his family die once.  He actually tried to save them, only to watch them die “countless” times.
19.  Savage has set up a situation where Kendra, the only one who can kill him, has to choose between killing him and saving Carter.  Rip protests, but then accepts her decision, even though it removed his one guaranteed chance to save his family.
1x14 - River of Time
20.  In the flashback, we learn more about what happened when Rip failed to kill Vandal Savage.  He was captured, starved, and implicitly tortured.  (”Ramses’s men inform me that still you refuse to speak...”).  It’s not clear how long he was there, but it was definitely an unpleasant experience.
21.  Rip makes increasingly bad decisions trying to get the Waverider to Vanishing Point, culminating in putting Jax in a very deadly situation.  His self-loathing after is palpable.
22.  And then of course, Rip finally gets Savage to the Time Masters, proof in hand, only for that lovely, final betrayal.
1x15 - Destiny
23.  Rip learns that not only are the Time Masters working with Savage, they DELIBERATELY sent him after Miranda and Jonas, in order to set their plans in motion.
24.  The death of Leonard Snart, which Rip takes so badly, that he tries to abandon the entire crew in the next episode.
1x16 - Legendary
25.  Rip achieves his goal of killing Vandal Savage, but fails at saving his wife and child.  It’s not quite a pyrrhic victory, but it’s still fucking depressing, almost culminating with suicide by sun.
2x01 - Out of Time
26.  This is subtle, but Rip spends most of the episode looking anxious and perturbed.  Like he’s waiting for the other shoe to drop.  As we saw from his goodbye message (which, as we see in Raiders, he had to have recorded much earlier), he definitely expected to have to flee.  From the look on his face in the flashback in JSA, he may well have realized what happened to Rex.
2x02 - JSA to 2x08 - Chicago Way
Rip isn’t in these episodes (except a tag scene and flashback.)  So no angst.  A few secrets, like the armory and tape.  But no suffering.  Yet.
2x09 - Raiders of the Lost Art
27.  We learn exactly what happened after the nuclear blast in Out of Time: Rip Hunter, in an attempt to hide a piece of the Spear of Destiny, undergoes “temporal electrocution” obliterating his identity and memories.
28.  “Phil Gasmer”, film student, is attacked out of the blue by the Legion of Doom.  He has no idea what’s happening or why.  In the process, he loses his script and film.  He also has terrible hair.
29.  “Phil Gasmer” is arrested without any clear charge or cause.  He is kept in an interrogation room, with no visible access to a telephone or an attorney.
30.  “Phil Gasmer” is kidnapped by people straight out of his script (pretending to be his psychiatrist!), informed that his life is a lie, and insulting him to his face.  And then, in an attempt to save them, he is kidnapped.
2x10 - Legion of Doom
31.  “Phil Gasmer” is tortured for an undisclosed amount of time, by two expert torturers.  He loses a tooth and is forced to wear a terrible purple suit as well.
32.  Eobard Thawne gets access to Rip’s mind and makes alterations.
2x11 - Turncoat
33.  Well, look, if you don’t think Rip isn’t going to be torturing himself for years about this entire episode?  You don’t know Rip Hunter.
2x12 - Camelot
34.  There are more things that Rip is likely to torture himself for, including the murder of Doctor Mid-Nite, the dead knights that he’s mind controlled, Galahad.  He also got abandoned and left to die by Damien Darhk.
2x13 - Land of the Lost
35.  Yet more guilt (this time for overriding Gideon and crashing the ship).  We also learn what the inside of Rip Hunter’s mind looks like: with the last bit of his own, true identity, imprisoned, hurt and terrorized by evil version of his friends.
36.  The team uses a machine that Rip himself thinks is too barbaric and violating to use, in order to go into his mind.  I doubt Rip will complain, as it had the desired results, but well, two mind-rapes make a right, I suppose.
(I considered adding the Gideon thing, but well, let’s see where that goes.)
2x14 - Moonshot
37.  Rip, having left an amiable Commander Steel in 1965, is greeted promptly by a punch to the face, and a cold shoulder from someone he seemed to think of as a friend.
38.  Rip is also dealing with the changes to the team since he was gone, and is at a loss regarding his role going forward.
39.  Rip’s proposed solution (opening the hatch) worked to save the ship.  However, Commander Steel sacrificed his life to do it.  More angst.  Yay.
--
39 incidents.  In 30 episodes.  He wasn’t IN SEVEN OF THOSE EPISODES..
And what are the odds that an episode called “Doomworld” will go remotely well for him?
At this point, I can’t bring myself to ask for a beach episode, because I think it would end with a shark biting off his foot.
