The more time passes the more I miss creepy menacing Collector xD
The way season 3 shedded this Collector's side on one hand makes sense. The show needed to hammer down the fact that Collector is a kid first and I guess they didn't trust their audience to understand that creepy kids are still kids, they are not evil. and they were sort of right. only in season three the main fandom kinda accepted this idea.
But this... killed a bit Collector being out of touch with everything? He is not just a kid that doesn't know how to socialize and act around people. He is an entirely different species. A god like species. His values, his morality, his view of life and world is SO different.
When he acted creepy, he felt alienated as he is an alien. Out of touch with people and reality not that he needed that.
A kid out of this world, a little god. A god child is a scary concept.
That was toned down. Understandable, but a shame nevertheless.
#the owl house#toh#the collector#honestly if they kept collector like in season 2 like when he was a shadow#i would have been less pissed off with his ending#but they not only humanized him harder they basically shook the viewer#'LOOK AT THIS POOR CLUELESS LONELY HURT CHILD'#and kicked him out of the family he needed#to care for him to help him understand the world#this one failed arc ruins literally everything for me in this show#because of this i dont want season 4#i dont want to be constantly reminded of the child everyone failed#he deserved better#way better#i almost dont want collector lore#almost xD#prequel wont push 'look we threw away an abused kid for his own good <3' fact xD
