TMA Pokemon AU: Lonelyeyes edition
Every time I fall into a new fandom I have to make a pokemon AU just to make pokemon teams for them~ This time it will just be for Elias and Peter, but I already have Jon and Martin’s teams ready as well. (Though since Elias and Jon are both Eye avatars, you may see a few of Jon’s pokemon already)
Elias Bouchard/Jonah Magnus:
Meowstic (Female): Per dex entry, female Meowstics (the white and blue ones) are apparently more aggro and will annihilate opponents versus the males who like to play support. So for that, Elias would have a female Meowstic.
- Also Meowstic is a powerful psychic pokemon which fits the Eye as a typing and also has the ability Keen Eye. It evolves from Espurr who can’t control its psychic powers so its like the mark of a full fledged Eye avatar (spoiler: yes Jon has an Espurr)
-Meowstic is always by Elias’ side or randomly appearinf around the Institue, rarely in her pokeball. She adds to the creep factor and the feeling of watching inside the building.
Musharna: Per dex entry, Musharna and Munna eat people’s dreams and nightmares which is similar to the Eye avatars tormenting their victims in their dreams. So yeah Elias has a Musharna and it’s always emitting black mist. (Again yup Jon has a Munna)
-He usually keeps it at home or if it’s in the office, it’s unseen until the s3 murder reveal. They get to eat together 😌
Mismagius: Per dex entry, Mismagius can give people headaches and hallucinations via it’s chanting so that’s definitely an Eye power related pokemon~ It also just fits Elias’ vibes
-When both Meowstic and Mismagius are out, that means Elias is about to use his powers on you and that he’s pissed. Also both were there for *brutal pipe murder sounds*
Xatu: One of the two pokemon left from Jonah’s original team. It guards Jonah’s body in the Panopticon, always watching.
-Jonah raised it from a Natu pre Smirke and Fears, one of his first caught pokemon. Its unnaturally long life for a pokemon is an boon from the Eye
Thievul: The other original pokemon from Jonah’s team. It just looks like how most Elias design do and its a thief. It’s a fox that loves to steal and jump unwitting targets and that’s just Elias Bouchard/Jonah Magnus core.
-Similar to Xatu, this was Jonah’s first caught pokemon and its extended life is a boon from the Eye. He raised it from a Nickit and honestly it’s kind of a spoiled little creature. Thievul is good for Elias’ “i’m just a regular asshole boss” front as it hangs out in his office all day and does the fox snicker if an employee is in trouble. It only really gets mixed up with his trainer’s schemes when it’s time to body hop. Thievul usually picks out good candidates and aids in the attack for the eye swap.
Morpeko: This one was just for the fun dynamic of Lonelyeyes. Morpeko was an anniversary gift from Peter and it very nearly became a reason for divorce because Peter said it reminded him of Elias due to its whole hangry mood switch ability. He calls it mini Elias. A dex quote: “Until its hunger is appeased, it gets up to all manner of evil deeds.”
-Funnily enough Morpeko does seem to be aligned with Elias’ moods as the little rodent will go into hangry mode when Elias is mad.
Bonus: While a trainer’s team usually consists of six, there is a secret seventh pokemon that hangs about the Institute under Elias’s care. And that’s a Hisuian Zorua which once belonged to one Mr. Barnabas Bennett. Hisuian Zorua are once dead spirits reborn with resentments who died due to being shunned and unable to survive the cold. Zorua lingers within the Institute as long as Barnabas’ skull and bones remain there. Elias leaves food out for it.
****
Peter Lukas:
Litwick: Per dex entry, it leads people astray while draining their life force away. That’s a Lonely aligned pokemon. You can find them and its evolved forms all over the Lukas estate.
-Peter has a Litwick over a fully evolved Chandelure as Peter’s whole thing is to be offputtingly nice and Litwick is cute but deadly
Dhelmise: Sailor themed and it sucks away life force. Perfect for Peter~
-He found it while on the Tundra and it happily works alongside Peter on his ship. Dhelmise hangs out on the ship mostly when Peter comes ashore but will sometimes be okay with going along with the man, preferring to be in its pokeball if on land.
Golisopod: Solely for its Emergency Exit ability, it was the closest and funniest thing to Peter’s ability to just dip out into the Lonely.
-Again Peter found it while on the sea within the wrecks of a sunken ship. It’s very anxious and will dip out on cue with Peter and sometimes even before he does. It has Peter’s vibes as this huge, imposing pokemon but then immediately disarms you of that notion.
-Beartic: Big Boy Man vibes. Also it just looks like all Peter designs. Ice type for the Lonely vibes.
-Peter caught a Cubchoo when he was young, it’s what made him different from his siblings as he caught it within the Lonely when he entered it for the first time. On principle, the Lukas family isn’t really about raising pokemon. There will be no evolve via friendship in that house. Most pokemon are caught in its final evo or kept in base evo due to them not nurturing their pokemon. Peter’s neither here nor there about that but nevertheless he managed to secretly raise his Cubchoo.
-Glaceon: Another Lukas family tradition. The chosen children are given Eevees and once they are marked by the Lonely and come into their avatardom, they are to evolve their Eevee into a Glaceon. No exceptions.
-Peter would have preferred a Vaporeon but tradition must be followed. He sees other eeveelutions and sometimes, just sometimes wonders if his Eevee would have chose to evolve into something else.
Greavard: Aka two can play at the joke anniversary gifting game, Peter. Peter’s on and off again husband is a petty man with a wicked sense of humor and interesting taste in men. The following anniversary to Morpeko’s arrival to their odd…situationship was when Elias gifted Peter with a Greavard.
- Its shaggy dog energy matches Peter and it’s so very much not Lonely aligned but instead Elias calling out on Peter with its craving of attention/affection and steadfast loyalty to its master (per dex entry) Once again a divorce was almost had. Instead Peter disappeared for like 2 weeks….but he took the dog with him anyway. And he still has Greavard so Elias is smug about the whole ordeal
****
Fun side notes: In comparison to Peter, Elias/Jonah tends to raise his pokemon from basic evo and up. He’s a sentimental type (if we consider the letters and the fucking skull) and he’s very controlling so he would put a lot of work into building and raising his team to perfection.
-Pretty much all of Elias’ pokemon get to sleep in the bed with him, much to Peter’s annoyance. Usually moreso when Peter is gone. The only two that don’t is Musharna who has a cubby above their bed due to how Musharna floats above to eat and Mismagius who prefers the pokeball.
But Meowstic will be curled up in Elias’ arms (if he’s not clinging to Peter already), Morpeko rests on his pillow next to his head, and Thievul curls up at the end of the bed on Elias’ side.
-Most of Peter’s pokemon are not allowed on the bed because 1. they kill just by being there (Litwick and Dhelmise) 2. “No Peter I will not allow your huge cowardly bug and freezing cold bear in!” and 3. Peter doesn’t want to promote un-Lonely like behavior. Glaceon gets special privileges because she is the most well behaved.
