Honda's Electrified Lineup: Past Meets Future

To be showcased in the course of its Honda e-Technology City Tour, Honda unveils several offerings in its electrified lineup that include:

Honda E:N1 : This will be Honda's first fully electric vehicle, which Honda will introduce for Indonesia in 2025 to become the future of eco-friendly driving.

Honda StepWGN e: HEV; a hybrid MPV, which was launched last year was seen on the roll on GIIAS 2024, and it encapsulated all innovation Honda had stuffed into its hybrid technology.

The stars include best-sellings like All-New Honda Accord RS e: HEV and All-New Honda CR-V RS e: HEV, besides Honda's e electric. Honda will demonstrate the Honda LiB-AID E500 energy storage device, designed for urban routes, as part of Honda's commitment towards sustainable energy solutions in the Honda EM1 e electric scooter.

Some special attractions of the tour include Honda N-VAN EV Prototype, which comes in as a walking café called Honda Dreams Café Mobile. The Thundercats Triumverate

This falls into both the "valid crossover lines" and "do it in that format" (upcoming) sections. But look, everyone wants the Thundercats and the MOTU people in the same size and format (and with good construction) Pot-luck your character selections from the three "Thunderverse" shows: Thundercats, Silverhawks, Tiger Sharks, so you don't get theme overload.

Ideally these would be a permanent fusion thing, but that's not gonna happen realistically.

The Hanna-Barbara Adventure-Verse

Now, this is a wacky one, but stay with me.

This stuff was all in the MOTU DNA, and the parts reuse options are actually pretty good. The majority of characters could be made with stock parts, and those that couldn't would have reuse potential anyhow. If nothing else you could sell a Space Ghost, Moltar, Brak and Modulok-y Zorak on the merits of double-nostalgia.

MOTU Vs Capcom

This would be a "Turtles of Grayskull" style mashup concept, with gear swaps, hybird characters, and reinterpretations across the board.

Your Capcom types are given a layer of barbarian lacquer and MOTU-esq accessories. A slapping-position fisto-fist for E Honda, thematically inappropriate swords and axes, Horde armor for the eviler Darkstalkers, etc. Battle Armor Ken Masters (fist shaped chest-dents), a larger-than-standard (in the Andre-the-Giant buck kind of way) Barbarian-queen Lady Dimitrescu (a mold that will be useful for a later Scorpia and other 'big gals')

Your MOTU guys get to cosplay as Street Fighters and Darkstalkers, etc. An Akuma-like 'Shin Skeletor', a He-Man in Guile/Charlie theme using chunks of the 'military he-man' prototype concept, Catra-by-way-of-Felicia, etc, Beast Man with blanka colors and electric accessory, that kind of thing.

The mashup/hybrid characters, however, are where it's really at. Mega-Man-at-Arms, Soulbinder (Spellbinder/Morrigan style succubus), Lord Scareglow (Scareglow/Lord Raptor), Radd-Blast (Radd Spencer/Rio-Blast), Mek-A-Dhalsim (MekaNek-Dhalism, uses the same arm-extension pieces as Radd-Blast), Dragon-of-Grayskull (Ryu He-Manized), Nemesis Horde (a Nemesis-ized Hordak),

Zangief is just Zangief with furry trunks.

Scooby-Doo

C'mon, everybody's doin' it...

Scooby-Doo has also crossed over with the WWE, so by the transitive property of ridiculousness, it is a viable match for MOTU.

Buff Barbarian Scooby Gang with gimmicks (Triclops for Velma with 'glasses' and 'no glasses', Jitsu-esq chopping hand-weapon for Daph, a 'friendly trap-jaw alt-head for Fred with some trap accessories, Shaggy's got a pizza shield and the power sword jabbed through a giant sandwich), Battlecat-Style Scooby with a mystery-machine themed saddle, some MOTU-ized baddies (Creeper, Ghost Clown, skeleton-men etc) and some hybrid-guys (Roboto-Charlie, Scareglow-Space Kook).

Guys I think should be in MOTU: Origins

My love of MOTU Origins is not very hidden, and they've hit tons of great points, but there's so much further to go. So, here's my rundown of what I'd want to see joint the MOTU Origins lineup.

Section 1: Give it the Sun-Man Treatment.

Blackstar

The proto-He-Man of yore, Blackstar as an IP is probably well within the price range for Mattel to sweep up to sprinkle into the line the same way Sun Man's universe was.

For advantages, it's VERY aesthetically compatible and has several strong character designs. It's no more obscure than Sun-Man, and I want hordes of those imp-demons, damnit.

BraveStarr

Again, a no-brainer. Find the character rights holders, get the rights. New Texas is out there in space, use it as an excuse to do MOTU:Origins versions of the New Adventures designs ("space travel" He-Man) and Rio-Blast. If they already own all the rights then them not having already done this is toyetic malpractice.

Advantages are obvious. BraveStarr rocks. You have a POC lead hero, Tex-Frickin'-Hex, and Thirty-Thirty, who would be well worth the extra tooling to make a deluxe figure of (you can always do an upgraded Stridor repaint). You would scatter them through waves to keep from overloading with the Space Cowboy thing, but def a winner.

Also, Rio-Blast. Rio-Blast, Yo.

Skeleton Warriors

It was never strong enough to stand on its own. Give Skeletor some friends. 'Nuff Said.

One-Off Guest Stars

This section is a little different, as these wouldn't be permanent integrations, but more fun crossover one-offs rather than being a whole theme. Characters pulled from other Mattel-owned lines of the past:

Mojo Ken and Thunderpunch Barb-E

Here's the thing. This line is dead stupid, and should remain that way. Give Ken two heads (one 'bad' Mojo head and one 80s toy Ken style one) give Barbie weirdly plausible MOTU gear, the joke alone is worth the parts reuse. Best if nestled in with some Princess of Power characters.

Lets give Captain Power a hand, folks.

Its that live action TV show that interacted with the vehicles that landed in the uncanny valley between family TV and advert-traintment that never quite works!

Captain Power and Lord Dread are pretty much the only ones you'd want to hit, maybe the Soaron Sky Sentry. And really, they're not that hard to do. Captain Power could easily be made with Roboto legs and upper arms, any number of gloved hands, a new chest armor and a new head.

Any newly tooled pieces would be useful in MOTU movie and new adventure characters.

The Construx Alien demands your respect.

I know it makes no sense, I don't care, it's my list. He's amazing and needs to be big and buff with a weird hand.

Major Matt Mason has nothing better to do.

This set's a stretch, as it would require a chunk of new tooling, but again, maybe worth it for the New Adventures and She-Ra applications, plus hey, Astronaut prequel Biff Bestman, Evelyn Powers, and Captain Marlena parts!

He-Man's space-man friend is a role that could still be filled.

This is a mid engine car the new ones have outrageous horsepower the old ones have decent horsepower the real ones are kind of weak but we can have three classes you would have to anyways have three different shells and the lighter they are they're not going to go as fast for example around 1995 I think they had 200 horsepower which is bad but the car went about 180 it'd be like the Volkswagen Dream but when you put our shell on and the new cage and interior it's beautiful it's going to be a very awesome and it will resemble the other car lines of course it will go probably it'll have 220 horsepower it will go about 280 mph it's because the shell can be lighter the top speed is lower, the next step up is about 350 horsepower which is a lot and it goes up to 380 horsepower the top speed would be about 400 20 mph it's a second level of hull the materials are very nice they're top of the line they're just not as sturdy they don't have to be it makes it faster otherwise you need still around 300 mph but it's not the top of the line is about 580 horsepower it would turn into 620 horsepower and mind you it's like the mclaren that he's been looking at which is his car and we would make it like that a little bit better with some of the features of ours which is really more or less from the Vader top speed. About 800 mph plus and that hall or shell would be very nice it's very powerful we don't want to go much faster and we might have to test it and it might have to put a limiter. We are doing a lot of business it's only in the thousands that I'm opening lots of shops all over the place and in my city we have a lot of them there these things are faster than hell. And I get wicked into it and it's for my character it's not Darth Vader. Others might start doing it and there's a girl trying it with the odyssey and then now it's the spider ken M and Ken M Spider those things I like 200 horsepower in there lighter than the cars if we did it up with our shells a smaller with a light version it would be 380 mph. And she said she wants a prototype and wants to do business thank God. Go ahead with that. I do know who you are

We are seeing his business take off these are now prototypes the ones he's working on and people love it he has started on the mclaren type car and now he gets the basic concept in the donor car would be the MR2 is not true it would be the NSX and there's a bunch of those and people store them for a rainy day and this is it. This car will go twice as fast as that almost no it goes twice as fast or faster the the fastest one will go three or four times as fast six to 800 miles an hour is extremely fast. And it's a pro shop it's a speed shop it's a performance shop and he makes race cars and people are going there now this is awesome. Your son and daughter in law did perfectly. We put on a hell of a shuttle show damn it and yeah Comic Con went on everybody was **** **** these girls are walking around **** **** she had like a real gun**** **** it's not only a real gun it's extremely powerful they go through whoever's in the way right out the building and through a couple more buildings so I started laughing and I said Don't fire that thing off as so firing mechanism and it looked like it was fused and you couldn't move it and you couldn't get the barrels open and it just spun but it's metal and they told to go ahead in because they know what it is. And that's how you get away with it and someone could arm that thing and holy **** would that be a mess you have a bunch of ammo and you can't detect it because you can use caseless and he says it's made for it it's made to use all winners of ammo it's like a cannon. I've never seen someone that knows exactly what it is without seeing it says he designed it into a semi-automatic we looked at it it is a semi-automatic and it loads from the bottom it says it has an extended cartridge we can look it to a pack and the joy of it is it's for short range and you can hide the pack i've never heard of anything like this ****. Honda Jalin Kerja Sama dengan Pertamina dalam Riset Penggunaan Mobil Listrik untuk Kegiatan Komersil

BALIPORTALNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) mengumumkan kerja sama dengan Pertamina Patra Niaga dan Pertamina New Renewable Energy untuk menjalankan riset penggunaan mobil listrik dalam kegiatan niaga di perkotaan. Melalui kerja sama ini, Honda akan menyediakan 1 unit Honda N-VAN EV Prototype, sebuah prototipe mobil listrik terbaru dari Honda, untuk mendukung mobilitas pengantaran barang dari gudang ke unit-unit Bright Store, (unit usaha retail milik PT Pertamina Retail, anak usaha Pertamina Patra Niaga) di area Jakarta dan sekitarnya. Peresmian kerja sama ini ditandai dengan penandatangan Joint Study Agreement yang dilakukan oleh Kotaro Shimizu selaku President Director PT Honda Prospect Motor dan Dannif Danusaputro selaku Direktur Utama Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE), serta Riva Siahaan selaku Direktur Utama Pertamina Patra Niaga, di ajang pameran Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) tanggal 14 Agustus 2023. Berbagai aspek akan diteliti dalam kerja sama studi ini, termasuk reliabilitas baterai, proses pengisian ulang, serta kenyamanan dan kepraktisan mobil Honda N-VAN EV Prototype dalam kegiatan pengantaran barang di area perkotaan. Kerja sama untuk riset ini akan berlangsung selama 3 bulan, dimana Honda N-VAN EV Prototype akan berjalan selama 6 hari dalam seminggu mengirimkan logistik dimulai dari gudang penyimpanan barang Pertamina Retail ke 14 lokasi Bright Store di area Jakarta dan sekitarnya. Hasil riset ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang potensi mobil listrik sebagai solusi ramah lingkungan dan efisien untuk kegiatan logistik dan distribusi. Kotaro Shimizu selaku President Director PT Honda Prospect Motor mengatakan bahwa, studi yang dilakukan dengan Honda N-VAN EV Prototype bertujuan untuk memahami kebutuhan konsumen dan infrastruktur di Indonesia, sebagai bagian dari persiapan implementasi visi elektrifikasi Honda di Indonesia. “Sebelumnya, Honda juga sudah mulai melakukan studi mengenai penggunaan mobil listrik untuk konsumen di Indonesia dengan menggunakan mobil Honda e, dan studi ini akan melengkapi pembelajaran kami khususnya untuk penggunaan kegiatan komersial. Kami sangat mengapresiasi dukungan dari Pertamina sebagai salah satu perusahaan terkemuka di Indonesia yang memiliki visi sejalan dengan Honda untuk menciptakan teknologi yang ramah lingkungan di masa mendatang,” jelas Kotaro Shimizu. Direktur Utama Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, mengatakan bahwa kolaborasi ini merupakan langkah Pertamina Patra Niaga melalui anak usahanya Pertamina Retail yang mengoperasikan Bright Store, dalam mendorong transisi energi di lini bisnis Non-Fuel Retail. Hal ini sekaligus mendorong utilisasi SPKLU (Stasiun Pengisian Kendaraan Listrik Umum) yang saat ini sudah tersedia di sejumlah SPBU Green Energi Station di wilayah Jakarta. “Harapannya, melalui penggunaan electric 4-wheeler jenis mobil angkut barang, dapat menciptakan efisiensi sekaligus berkontribusi pada pengurangan emisi dalam operasional bisnis Non-Fuel Retail kami. Serta kedepan mendorong pelaku industri lainnya dalam mengutilisasi SPKLU atau charging station di SPBU Green Energy Station Pertamina,” ujar Riva. Dannif Danusaputro selaku Direktur Utama Pertamina NRE mengatakan bahwa, bagi Pertamina NRE kerja sama ini akan menjadi milestone strategis karena Pertamina NRE juga memiliki fokus pada pengembangan ekosistem baterai dan kendaraan listrik dalam portofolio bisnisnya. “Kami sangat menyambut baik kolaborasi yang positif antara Pertamina dan Honda. Saat ini pun Pertamina NRE berpartisipasi dalam ekosistem baterai dan kendaraan listrik melalui Indonesia Battery Corporation. Kami percaya bahwa kolaborasi berbagai pihak akan mempercepat terbangunnya ekosistem kendaraan listrik di Indonesia,” terang Dannif Honda N-VAN EV Prototype yang digunakan dalam riset ini merupakan pengembangan dari model mobil Honda N-VAN, salah satu model kendaraan komersial yang sangat sukses dari Honda. It can also respond to simple voice commands, and can perform face recognition. Using stereoscopic vision, it can map its environment and stationary objects. ASIMO can also avoid collisions with moving obstacles as it moves through its environment. ASIMO’s height of four feet, three inches (130 centimeters) makes it the perfect size for helping around the house, or assisting a person confined to a bed or a wheelchair. ASIMO’s size also allows it to look directly at an adult sitting in a chair or sitting up in bed for easy and natural communication.
