Fascinating how many people see it as an academic only word, it does feel like queer loses its political meaning outside of English speaking sphere uh

I'm so curious, queer people for whom English is not their first language and/or who didn't grow up in a majoritarily English speaking place, what is your relationship to the word queer?

#like to me queer is such a revolutionary word and even a political stance #but thats within my bubble its normal that that meaning does not translate in cultures who already made place for people like us #im not the most articulate person about this sorry #its also interesting how lesbian and its translation brings discomfort to people across the world (im assumi g because #homophobia you know) like here ive known some lesbian who didnt like the word lesbienne #im not a lesbian so im just observing here #and we all experience queerness differently anyways #idk what im saying anymore
