Yes, his creepy plan backfired somewhat. But can you honestly say he isn't enjoying this situation anyway? Looks like Equius wins no matter what.

Later the Dirkbot does this exact same thing. But it happens casually in the background as a gag, while Jake is being preoccupied and self-absorbed, as usual. I'm sure Dirk, who programmed the robot to do that, thought it would be a really passionate, dramatic gesture like it is here. But it turned out Jake just didn't care. Nobody cared, Dirk. Your feelings just aren't that important, sorry. What's happening here is important, though. This whole sequence was fire. Miss me with your bad and wrong opinions if you disagree.

thinking about that post talking about dirk sending jake dirkbot as like this ultimate sign of affection bc jake doesnt ACTUALLY like roughhousing and is scared of the monsters on his island so dirk gave him this robot to like. safely tumble with while simultaneously protecting him from what hes scared of

but like every time jake is shown adventuring or whatever the fuck he seems really apprehensive and scared of dirkbot just popping out and strifing with him

and THIS made me think about the similarities between dirkbot with jake and bro with dave... NEVER BEFORE TOUCHED ON HOMESTUCK ANALYSIS TALKING POINT

but really like... what does creating this thing thats frankly kind of scary as some sort of means of affection towards jake say about dirk... especially in relation to what we know about bro. AND what does it say about bro
