#throwbackthursday to Gail and Holly’s first kiss 💋. Happy pride all!! 🏳️‍🌈 This role will forever be near and dear to my heart. ~ I’ve received numerous letters and messages that have moved me to tears over the years. Letters from beautiful souls sharing how our characters helped them to love themselves more, accept themselves more, share themselves more. Letters about being honoured and represented, about feeling seen. One woman shared with me her path from denial, to discovery, to pushing past fears and accepting who she is, to marrying the woman of her dreams. 🙈😍😭 All of this has both filled and broken my heart. I’ve celebrated being a part of bringing love and light to an area of humanity that so needs and deserves it. And I’ve wept for the pain that I imagine so many experience. I’ve marvelled at the insanity that we even have to shed light on something that is so innately normal. #loveislove no if ands or buts about it. ~ Of course the real thanks goes to the writers and creators of #rookieblue for honouring a beautiful love story between two humans. The fabulous #charlottesullivan and I simply had the privilege of bringing Gail and Holly to life. ~ Love and acceptance of all people is what I pray for most in this world. People feeling free to shine their light. I am committed to do my best to find it deep within myself so that I may also inspire and share it with others. ~ If you’ve ever struggled to love and accept yourself, give me a 🙌 I think it’s so important we normalize our humanity and blow the lid off of perceived “perfection”. ~ Sending you all a HUGE hug and wishing you all the deepest inner knowing that you are valuable, you are love, and you belong.
