I'm scared to ask this but do any of the new stills from the TLFOAH trailer give you any headcanons

Violet Hollywood Lexa. Of course, the shirt would be different, but this is what Lexa would look like behind all the glamour and the makeup she wears to hide the bruises her husband leaves on her. The more success she has, the faker her smile becomes as he becomes more abusive. This almost gives me the vibes after she had her baby. How you can see how tired she is. How tabloids keep talking about the end of her career just because she had a child. Knowing her husband has used their baby to keep her and Clarke away from each other and now barely even cares for him, even less than a dad at that time would. She's tired and the roles are trickling down slowly and she keeps wishing she had grabbed Clarke's hand and let her take dher away from it all.

Farm Lexa. Just the mess of the living room as they prepare for Madi's arrival.... still a good six months away. The little pregnancy overalls Lexa thrifted and that are still oh so big on her but she is so excited for her bump to grow she wears them around the house with pretty much a rope around her waist so it'll stay put. Trying to understand the instructions of one of the few things they bought new and while she is usually pretty handy with these things her pregnancy is already making her so frustrated because nothing makes sense!!! Clarke eventually walks in and takes over as Lexa complains about feeling useless over not being able to help with the nursery painting and the furniture and how she's just sitting around and looking at baby clothes before Clarke reminds her she is literally careying their baby, thats 100% the least useless job there is and if Clarke had her way that would be the only thing Lexa did around the house until Madi is here 🥺

Quien se inventó el matrimonio?

Blanca, 16 años de matrimonio me pregunta esta semana: ´´Quien se inventó el matrimonio?´´y esto me hizo explotar la cabeza. Así que querida Blanca, te dejo mi opinión:

Cómo muchas cosas en esta vida, no tenemos certeza de dónde, como o porque iniciaron pero de lo que cada vez existen pruebas es que todo tiene que ver con una extensa narrativa que ha pasado de generación en generación y que nos ha moldeado sobre cómo deberíamos ser, comportarnos, hacer, paradigmas como la familia, la sociedad y ni que hablar del amor.

Para hablar del amor voy a tomar solo dos pequeñas líneas:

La Iglesia.

Hollywwod.

De las primeras veces que me hablaron de amor y pareja fue en el colegio dónde nos contaron la historia de Adan y Eva y como ella jodió todo lo que estaba bien por aquel entonces y nos convirtió en pecado original, de ahí en adelante en una larga y turbulenta línea de tiempo se le dio todo tipo de interpretaciones a lo que es el amor y el matrimonio. Siglos después cayeron del cielo los sacramentos que serían desde entonces el manual de ´´como evitar ir al infierno volúmenes 1 y 2´´  que al día de hoy en muchas culturas el estar o no estar casado es sinónimo de éxito  e inclusión social. 

Si a este coctel creyente le agregamos el segundo ingrediente y es la manera en que se ha adoctrinado a generaciones sobre el amor, el amor romántico, de ese que dura para toda la vida, ese que soporta y enfrenta desde batallas medievales hasta luchas con extraterrestres pues ya tenemos unas cuantas personas que no hallamos nuestras vidas sin amar, llorar y pecar no?

Al final, el marketing de los 80´s y 90´s  también hizo lo suyo vendiendo la idea de hogares felices y lo más peligroso desde mi punto de vista: La media naranja. Este concepto es complicado porque pone de punto de partida que estamos incompletos, que necesitamos otra mitad para estar completos, que en la otra mitad estará la solución de todo eso que nos hace falta … Y la naranja completa se pudre años después entre otras porque no me llenaste, no me hiciste, eras más amarga o más dulce de lo que esperaba.

Todo será más sencillo en la medida que entendamos que no necesitamos una media naranja, porque a pesar que nos cueste verlo en muchas ocasiones, estamos completos, somos una naranja completa o por completar que quiere estar en un frutero bien rico compartiendo con otras naranjas.

The theater was built in 1913 as a small-scale picture palace, a decade before Sid Grauman built either the Egyptian or the Chinese. It is located between the two, though closer to the Chinese. In 1927, it acquired a Wurlitzer Organ, Opus 697, whose current location is unknown.

The marquee we see today was added around 1938, after the theater had been acquired by Fox West Coast Theaters. In the 1970s, now owned by Mann Theaters, it was a second-run house for the Chinese, films from there moving to the Hollywood if a newer show was coming in, often because the new film had been booked in advance. This backfired spectacularly in June 1977.

Star Wars took everyone by surprise, and Mann’s wanted to keep it at the Chinese after its initial two-week run because it was making buckets of money. Paramount, however, insisted the contract for William Friedkin’s Sorcerer be honored and Star Wars was punted to the Hollywood. Mann’s paid for the installation of 70MM Dolby Sound to keep the audiences happy until the Sorcerer contract was fulfilled and Star Wars could go back to the Chinese.

Ironically, when the above image was created for ET, to invoke the glamour of Hollywwod, the theater was on its last legs. Mann’s closed the theater in 1991. It now house the Guiness World Records Museum, though the marquee remains, still bearing the name Hollywood.

The other Hollywood sign was used as an Entertainment Tonight bumper.

Aaron Sorkin is completely correct when he says - admittedly for petulant, grumpy old man reasons - that saying that only gay actors can play gay characters is intensely idiotic, because it is. I feel the exact same way about only casting trans actors to play trans characters - not because I want to limit rolls for trans actors but because I want to allow them to be goddamn actors. Let’s cast more trans actors in more roles. Let’s cast more trans actors playing cis characters - and then let’s not treat the casting choice like its added backstory to the character. A trans actor in a non-trans roll shouldn’t never be read as subtext that the character is trans in the same way a British actor playing an American isn’t read as subtext that the character is British. Every time we do this we diminish the roll of actors as actors. A trans actor no more wants to be typecast as ‘the trans character’ any more than anyone else wants to be typecast. ‘I transitioned, I came to Hollywood, and I wanted to replace Chris Pine as the next Captain Kirk - but instead the only roles I am ever offered are the non-binary alien or the ‘aren’t we progressive’ trans secondary character who gets to dance with the non-binary alien in the last scene of the movie for eight frames.’ Because that’s what’ll happen. It’s what’s already happening. You’ve got two issues here - the lack of good queer characters in Hollywood, and the bias against hiring out queer actors in Hollywood for any roles. And you’re not going to fix the former by merging it with the later, you’re just going to double-down on Hollywood’s already incredibly shitty tokenism problem - you’re condemning a whole generation of LGBTQ+ actors to fight for who gets to be Disney next ‘first gay character’ or ‘first trans character’ over fifty movies a year for the next ten years. And meanwhile straight cis actors will continue to dominate Hollywood because if only a gay can play a gay, then only a straight can play a straight, and never the twain shall meet because we want to be progressive. And men like Aaron Sorkin will silo queer actors off to their own little corral and then bitch about progressivism and nothing will get better because we won the wrong battle in the right war. Again. (Swear to God, the whole ‘what are straight people thinking’ semi-joke has started to rot the brains of certain people who seem to genuinely believe that straight and queers minds are unbridgeably different with the same level of fervour that idiots a generation ago applied to ‘men are from Mars, woman are from Venus’ bullshit. Darlings - you aren’t the unplumbable well of enigma you think you are. Hate to say it, but if straight people have never understood you, its because they didn’t care to try.)
