I feel like it’s really easy for me to kind of take for granted what’s happening now, and the cool stuff that’s going on. It’s easy to forget to enjoy the ride as it’s happening, and to not think about what more I could have and what opportunities I could be getting. I’m constantly in competition with myself, and I feel like I’ll never feel like I’ve written my best song, or be quite satisfied with where I am. If I’m still able to be writing songs that I truly love — which is why I do it, my favorite part — that’s all I really want.
