hello ! this is a start of a series i hope haha (going back to my hnk roots, oh how i'ce missed it) starting with the second youngest gem in the school, zircon :D 💞

i hope the pose doesn't seem too weird, i've recently gotten really into the strange world of high fashion magazine poses and i think it shows..

btw the hnk "hair" shading is once again proving to be quite difficult

Today I offer: rocks.

I tried to keep close to the original HNK artstyle, but I ultimately resorted to my own shading methods, and what came out of it is…this. Can’t decide if I like it or not, but I’m not going to judge a piece that has been marinating in my drafts for more than a single day.

All the spiral-type decorations were actually unintentional, I’ll say that much…I was heavily struggling with Yellow Diamond’s face, and while I was trying to draw that, I just doodled something on it out of laziness and liquified it, but it somehow accidentally ended up making the theme for the rest of this drawing. It looks quite nice though, I might reuse it a few times for other stuff.
