So we're two-weeks no-Casualty now, how are people holding up? I'll be honest, I've only really been missing the spoilers up until now, it's a weird thing to miss but it gave me something to be excited about almost every day of the week. I am missing getting a new episode tonight, though. I've just finished my first actual week of university, I'm drained from having to talk to people, I'm ill (I guess it's technically freshers flu but that suggests a level of partying that isn't really achieveable when you're still living at home and also not that into that kind of stuff - uni for me so far has mostly involved reading about medieval whalebone boxes and catching trains), and the only thing that would make me feel better is the horrible nausea of watching my favourite idiot paramedics losing every battle in the relationship trenches.
Having no new episodes also means I don't have any pressure to post about Too Much, Too Young or Switzerland yet, so I still haven't made that post. I think it's just that I wasn't too happy with how TMTY went and then Switzerland was so brilliant that nothing I could say feels worth saying... I'll get to it eventually. I do feel like the episodes were kind of in the wrong order? I think it might be that Driving Force was only 10 episodes long, making Switzerland the special episode, but I feel like it would've felt like it made more sense if Switzerland came first?? Not just because of how I feel about the episodes, I think it would've made more sense pacing-wise for the Jan and Gethin storyline if Hard Pill was followed by Switzerland since it basically happens immediatley after what happened for them in Hard Pill anyway.
I am thinking I might start a proper rewatch now that I've got nothing to do every Saturday night (I am realising as I type this how miserably boring I must be making my life seem, I have fun I swear, fun for me is watching bad movies and overanalysing things). I wanted to rewatch the Welcome to the Warzone chapter up to Once Bitten so that I could have episode reviews for all of WTTW and DF but the secret reason I want to do that is to get an excuse to talk about With a Bullet, which is probably one of my favourite episodes since the start of this chapters thing. Honestly, I might just see if I can get my non-Casualty-fan friend who I have propagandised into also caring about Sah and Teddy to watch that episode with me tonight. So maybe expect me to start posting those episode reviews at some point, or possibly expect me to just start posting episode reviews of seemingly random episodes that I just consider to be my 'favourites' ('favourite' is an interesting term in the Casualty world because there are some episodes where I theoretically hate large parts of what happened but I enjoyed how one storyline was dealt with so much that I just ignore that stuff - like I think On The Edge and Falling are also some of my favourite episodes but I don't know/know I dislike what happens in them beyond the stuff with Sah and Teddy).
