When he becomes restless after significant changes at the school, he applies for a job as a tutor at Thorgill Hall, teaching the younger brother of Mr. Louis Tomlinson. Harry develops romantic feelings for his pupil's brother...

Thorgill Hall, however, holds a secret; it’s becoming slightly more eerie every day and when his life is threatened, Harry makes a drastic decision…

"You'd be upset too if you were a car named Greased Lightning with a passenger trying to get it renamed to Dusty." "To be fair," Niall explained, "the name Dusty does seem a bit more accurate." "Make sure to leave the car running while you're getting whatever you're getting from Harry," Louis said in disgust. "This car is going to choke for good after that comment and I don't want to be stuck at Harry's place when that happens." Or the one where Niall's dead car and and a foot of snow conspire to force Louis into spending time with an alpha he hates.... or does he?

His black chucks had holes in the canvas, indicating exactly how old they were, and his maroon beanie wasn’t in much better shape. The more Harry studied the man’s smoky eyeliner rimmed eyes and the lipstick he had swiped on to match his hat, the more Harry started hatching an idea. What if Harry really did bring this man home?

Welcome to the HL Regency & Victorian Fic Challenge 2018. Below you will find information regarding the challenge; any other residing questions may be forwarded to the askbox of the challenge Tumblr. Happy writing!

About this fic challenge

This fic challenge has a historical theme, based on the period between 1811 to 1901, also known as the Regency and Victorian era. 

 Are you inspired by BBC Costume Dramas based on famous English literature? Do you want to write another Pride & Prejudice AU? Are you dying to write a story taking place in Jack the Ripper’s Whitechapel? Or do you want to write your own original story about a romance between two men in either the Regency or Victorian era? Or a story based on events in the 1900’s, like the Industrial Revolution or the cholera epidemic in London? Want to write a Frankenstein AU, a Dorian Gray AU?This is your chance to write that story! The possibilities are endless! 

As long as your story takes place between 1811 and 1901 and has elements of the era in the fic. 

This fic challenge is open to writers only. However, feel free to create artwork for your fic (whether you make it yourself or have it created for you by an artist.)

The minimum word count for your fic is 10,000 words. If you have already signed up and end up realizing that you cannot complete a 10,000 word fic in time or you have to withdraw for some other reason, please contact me and let me know as soon as possible and as far in advance as you can.  Fics must be beta’d and proofread before you submit them.

Betas and Britpickers:

A beta is someone who will look over your fic for you and edit or help with particular elements of the work, such as grammar, spelling, plot, character development, etc. 

A britpicker is someone who will look over your fic and basically make sure it sounds British. This is not necessary if your characters are American or something. 

I will be compiling a list of people willing to beta or britpick fics for the writers.You can sift through this list and find someone you would want to look over your fic for you, then contact them.
