Fullmetal Alchemist Exhibition -Hong Kong- Highlights & Cafe Menu

Guess WHO just came back from the fma exhibition today! I am still in my serotonin rush as I type out this post. Upon a mutual's request, I am sharing highlights and key features of this time's exhibition, especially the Hong Kong-only elements. Hope this helps anyone who is considering going and wants to know more about it!

Obligatory Entrance Photo!

Same as the original exhibition in Japan, at the entrance, there's the 20th anniversary Ed & Al figure, a 1:1 Al statue, and an animated transmutation circle that you can pose at.

(It is very hard to get the right timing to put down your hands though, since it moves really fast xD)

Copies of 300+ genka are shown, and as you can see here, translated versions of the comic panels are displayed underneath the framed genka copies, which I think is very nice.

Unfortunately, much like the previous Malaysia exhibit, these are not the original genkas (it's probably too risky to ship them overseas?) but seeing these copies still made me really happy and the set-up is really awesome:) (link to set-up video)

Can't forget the coloured pages, of course! There's also one original signed illustration, but you're not allowed to take pictures of it, which is a bit sad but understandable.

I am not sure if it's 100% accurate, but from what I have heard these two photo spots are Hong Kong-only. Please correct me if I am wrong!

Left: a wall with Mei's kunai that you can pose in front of and pretend to be Ed gaining back his right arm. Absolutely impossible to take a photo there while maintaining a straight face because it is ungodly hilarious and ridiculous. 6/10

Right: Gate of Truth door curtain near the exit; Very fun to push open and act out another iconic Ed scene (video link), or sit there and speak in a mocking ominous tone. 10/10

Cafe:

After the exhibition, you can find the cafe inside the gift shop area. There are two extra-special items and a few other snacks that you can order; Listing all food items & their prices below!

Because I didn't order the special items, the below three photos are from HK01's report on the exhibition.

Left: The Flame Transmutation Set is fish cake + yakitori, and when you order it you'll get the food in a small black box, then the staff will help you light it up when you snap at it; basically you can pretend to be Mustang and "cook" the yakitori yourself xD

Right: The (Full)metal Transmutation Drink is peach soda, but it comes unmixed; you can put it on a special table with a transmutation circle drawn on it, and the table will shake and mix the drink for you. The idea is you can make your own liquid philosopher's stone and drink it lol

I think they're both really stupid but in an endearing way I guess lmao

鳥（15歲時被取的渾名），看著被擺在陳列櫃裡，如同野生的

鹿一般，昂然而優雅的非洲地圖，透漏出了小小抑制住的嘆息。

穿著制服的書店店員們沒去注意到 �� 的嘆息。夜幕漸深，從

覆蓋地表的大氣，如同死去的巨人體溫一般，初夏的熱氣已經

是完全脫落的時候。任誰都會無意識的從皮膚留存的記憶，在

薄暗之中洩漏著曖昧的嘆息。六月、下午六時半，街道上已經

沒有人流汗。然而，鳥 的妻子裸體的躺在橡膠布上，如同被擊落

的雉雞，眼睛僵硬的閉著，整個身體的汗穴滲出數目龐大的汗粒，

呻吟著疼痛、不安與期待。

非洲大陸 像是趴著的男人頭蓋骨。地圖下方顯示的人口分佈

就像已經開始腐蝕的死亡非洲的頭，顯示交通關係的地方

就像剝去皮膚的非洲的毛細血管，完整呈現著受了傷的頭部。

「鳥，你不是在當誰是弱者的重要時刻就會背棄他嗎？你背棄

了 菊比古 這個朋友了吧？」妻子一說，如同看著鳥的反應，

大大的張著疲倦而遲鈍的眼。

菊比古 啊；菊比古 是 鳥 在地方都市當不良少年時候的年少

友人。他們要找出一個從精神病院逃走的瘋子。鳥 從街道的

人們聽來的關於瘋子的傳聞，沉迷於那個瘋子的性格，一直

熱心的尋找著這個把現實的世界當成地獄的瘋子。為了尋找，

他們在天一亮就放出醫院的警犬，如此一來，瘋子或許就因為

恐怖而嚇死吧。

是秋末的時分，鳥 向腦外科主任打過招呼，告辭出來，在

嬰兒室圍著抱著嬰兒的妻子的丈人與丈母娘一面微笑著。

「恭喜啊，鳥，跟你有像。」丈人說著。

「是啊。」鳥 低調的說著。嬰兒在手術後一個星期就好了很多。

「借出了 X光照片，回到家給你們看。頭蓋骨有破損，直徑就

幾個 mini 的程度，說是漸漸的在合攏。腦 其實並沒有外露

，只是肉瘤。說是瘤切開之後有兩個乒乓球大小的白色硬塊。」

「手術成功，太好了」打斷 鳥 的饒舌，丈人切入說著；幽默

的丈母娘說：「鳥，你就像一頭獅子般的勇敢。」

「你真的很勇敢的正面接受了這次的不幸」教授說到。

「要怎麼說呢；其實我一直想逃。」鳥 不自覺的修正了怨嘆的

聲音說著， 「不過活在現實生活中，結果正常的生存著卻被

強制了。就算是掉入了欺瞞的陷阱，終究是要抗拒的；差不多

就這個感覺。」

「一樣可以過現實的生活的，鳥。也是有人像青蛙一樣，從

欺瞞，跳至另一個欺瞞，一直跳到死為止。」教授說。

「嬰兒也有可能正常的養育，卻是也同時養育了 IQ 很低的

孩子。我必需為了孩子的未來努力工作。當然也沒去要教授幫

我找新工作的想法。打算切斷去當得以向上奮發的補習班或

大學講師的緣份。也許去當外國觀光客的導遊。也或許請個

在地的導遊，去非洲旅行。」

一般的說，去翻譯一本書，無論多麼具有可讀性，都盡可能

不去嘗試。耐性不足之外，也覺得必要性不大 － 自己簡單讀

一讀就好。（無所事事，還是翻了不少。笑 ）只是往往讀到

一些喜歡的文字，不免就手癢。這篇也是一樣；變通一下，

翻個段落，再簡單轉貼一下作者的序言，應該就可以足夠。

初生兒 腦部異常的父親，在兒子接受手術之後依舊無法正常

的狀態，整個人生陷入了愁雲慘霧無法自解的絕望。

大江曾一度至江之島試圖赴水而死，但對於自己如因逃避現實

而自殺實為愧對社會及妻子，因此更為奮發，種種思維影響了

他之後的作品，其子則被命名為「光」。

Nicholas Tse Defends Faye Wong from His Fans (2024)

Vic Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse and Chinese singer Faye Wong, who have an 11-year age gap, were a power couple in the 90s but broke up in 2002. Years later, after their respective marriages ended in divorce, they rekindled their relationship in 2014. Since then, despite occasional rumors of breakups, they’ve been going strong as a couple and are spotted together every so often.

According to HK01, it’s been circulating on Chinese social media that 43-year-old Nicholas Tse became upset with his fans for criticizing his 54-year-old girlfriend, Faye Wong. He reportedly called the fan club leader personally to tell his fans not to speak badly about his girlfriend, warning that he would even cut ties with the fan club. The incident is said to involve younger fans who became his supporters following the 2021 film “Raging Fire.”

While some feel that his response was too harsh, given that his fans have supported him for decades, many also praise him for his actions to protect his partner. Others joke that he can do without “harsh” fans but can never do without Faye Wong.

愛書越癡，孽緣越重；James Thurber 有一幅漫畫畫書房，四壁

是書，妻子氣沖沖指著丈夫說：「這屋子有老娘就不能有文學，

有文學就沒有老娘！」可怕之極。Seymour de Ricci 家���珍藏三萬

多本書籍拍賣行編印的書目，堆得滿滿的；有客人來，妻子忍不住

抓著客人說：「全是書！你想看看我在那兒掛衣服嗎？」客人跟她

進臥房，她打開大衣櫥給客人看，裏頭堆滿一幢幢的書目，連掛一件

衣服的空檔都沒有。「到處是書！」妻子說完掉頭走開。愛丁堡 的

Charles Sarolea 藏書之富出了名，不能不想辦法對付「內憂」老勸

太太出門旅行。太太出門旅行；太太不在家那幾天裡，他不斷打電話

請各書商把他訂下來的那一堆書都運回來。太太回來心裡總覺得家裡

的書多了好多，只是本來就有十幾萬冊，現在多了多少她實在不敢

說。Sarolea 有錢，還不至於以自己買書弄得家裡沒米。錢不多又

愛書，更煩了。多年前，英國有個窮藏書家，每買一本書，總是先

照定價付錢給書商，再請書商幫幫忙，在那本書的扉頁寫個很便宜

「癡」跟「情」是分不開的；有情才會癡。「書淫」指整天耽玩典籍

的人。「耽玩」跡近「縱慾」。人對書真的會有感情，跟男人和女人

的關係有點像。字典之類的參考書是妻子，常在身邊為宜，但是翻了

一輩子未必可以爛熟。
