i don’t think it’s a reactionary position to feel frustrated that some students, usually in us history classes, seem only be there to put together a bulleted list of antiracist talking points

#some of the worst essays i’ve graded at girl blue school are the ones where the thesis is: America Is Racist 😦#obv i agree with their politics but as a teacher i’ve found it difficult to communicate that #history education is about rethinking processes and change + arguing persuasively #some of the worst classes are those where all you come away with are fun facts! learn how to argue facts in context!#this is also me muttering under my breath rather than contribute to this argument btwn silly people in my cohort #mine
