I secretly shoot weddings just for cake! Ok... like if you only have a little one for just you two like this couple, then I’ll enjoy the other desserts but if it’s a three tier cake for everyone to enjoy, I’m going to have a slice at the end of the night! 😂😂 What!! I’m no pro... but I guess I kinda am??? I think having successfully rescheduled 10 weddings with my clients so far... I know I can assist you if you have any questions. I think the toughest part is really taking the first step to make the decision. It’s not easy to morn the death of your anticipated wedding date... but once you talk about the bright side of things (you and family members are safe, and if you postpone — you can at least hug them), all the details can figure themselves out. For example... most vendors will probably be able to reschedule with you right now because after all, we are humans. Then major airlines and hotels (even @airbnb) are crediting back travel accommodations so the sooner you decide, the easier it’ll be for guests planning to attend from a far. This has to be one of the heavenly sweetheart tables I’ve ever seen with this custom painted linen. As the couple sits down for dinner, they will be swimming in a sky of blue. One of my wedding planner girlfriends alway told me that if you can’t afford to dress up all your guest tables with different linens due to budget constraints, you can always try to dress your event up with a linen upgrade to the sweetheart table and/or dessert table. Wedding planning is not easy... there are so many other little events that lead up to the big day: engagement announcement, engagement party?, dress shopping, venue shopping, vendor research, bridal showers, bachelor/ette celebration, dinners with the in-laws, shopping, more shopping, rehearsal dinner... Can I confess that I have more photographer friends than I have any other friends? You’d think it’s cause I “want to keep my competition closer” but actually we have great honest relationships. I think we’ve found common issues that we’ve undergone and love that we can lean on each other for support. Although we’re not getting pregnant anytime soon, I just know that when/if it happens, I have a handful of photographer friends who I can call “in case” someone needs to cover a wedding for me. Why am I even bringing this up? This is not an easy subject but - I get that question a lot in consultations - “do you have a backup photographer in case something should happen?” Don’t worry, I plan to shoot all my weddings and if I was not able due to planned circumstances like a pregnancy - I’d let you know way ahead of time but under acts outside of my control - you will still be taken care of. Today, I’m honored to share that I’m heading out to assist as a primary photographer because a friend is in a similar situation. I always get the question from brides about when I take photos of details so I thought I’d share. Typically details like this flatlay, shoes, the dress, the suit, jewelry, mementos, hairpieces, bouquets, boutonnières, vows, the rings, and SO MUCH MORE... are taken before the ceremony! It’s definitely ok if we collect them the day of when I get there but to save time and to insure that you do get the images you want of all your things, you’ll have to collect all your items prior to the day of so that it makes it easy for me to come in and just style it and capture it. Note: these things don’t just happen by accident. Every little detail is thought out. ie. Have your florist provide one or two pieces that will tie in your bouquet and floral for the day!
