Snippet time! Garvanos sighed and grabbed Ivan's collar, holding his head close to his face. “I almost get the feeling you are trying to get rid of me. Why, is this my punishment for that god-awful dress rehearsal today?” Maybe, just maybe he deliberately added a somewhat whiny tone to his voice. Just maybe. Ivan lifted his arms and rested them on Garvanos' waist. “Yes, very, very much so.” The sarcasm dripped all the way through his accent. “With that awful singing today you are not worthy of my presence. I would only grant it to you if you begged for it on your knees.” For a moment Garvanos was seriously contemplating it. “No, not really.” Ivan pulled him into another kiss. “Promise me you have something to eat. Afterwards a nice, relaxing afternoon and then please stay not up too late. And that you have some rest tomorrow and that you try not to loose your head, yes?” He sighed. “Fine. I promise. But only if you see me off to the stage on opening night,” he then declared. His cheeks grew warm. “Maybe I'm silly, but it calms me.” #asongforghosts #novel #queer #queerromancenovel #historicalqueerromance #coverreveal #opera https://www.instagram.com/p/B81mCw9osbU/?igshid=12lqq8r32qbnd

“Sure about that?” Alexander nodded to August, who was by now trying to chat up Johannes Erhardt. The man looked supremely uncomfortable. “Is he drunk?” Garvanos wondered in a whisper. “He acts like me when I'm drunk.” “You're a lot less touchy-feely,” Johannes argued. “With you maybe.” #asongforghosts #novel #historicalqueerromance #historicalromance #queerromancenovel https://www.instagram.com/p/B8zCrspoQuR/?igshid=7eaw381i4b84

Snippet time - and meet my other lead Ivan! Ivan moved and grumbled softly and Garvanos lowered his hand again, watching as Ivan's face twitched a bit, his brow furrowed and his nose crinkled. His lashes fluttered and then Garvanos could look into the one eye that wasn't hidden behind his hair. It was bright, seemingly translucent and of a warm, pale hazel colour, like a morning in autumn. Ivan blinked and then, cocking his head slightly to the left, smiled. “Good morning.” Garvanos' chest widened much the same way it did when Ivan pulled his shoulders back. “Good morning.” “I hope you have not slept too badly. I know, the couch is quite awful.” Garvanos quickly shook his head. “Oh no, it was fine, really.” Truth was that he had quite a stiff neck and once he got up, he was sure that his back would be ready to kill him. #asongforghosts #writing #novel #queer #queerromancenovel #historicalromance #historicalqueerromance #romance #opera https://www.instagram.com/p/B8w8ZRGoyVG/?igshid=n3apnmvog5p0

Garvanos Scimia has not wanted to go to Dresden and join the Royal court theatre. But he has been sent away from his home in Milan and now here he is, a new singer at the Royal Court Theatre. It won’t be easy, he knows. His nerves and his tendency to break downs take care of that. Also he is a born Gypsy, which is just one more problem on the heap. But then Ivan takes him under his wing. Ivan who lives in secret underneath the theatre and who has the most lovely smile and the most wonderful voice. With his help Garvanos finds confidence in himself, in his voice, in his feelings and - and maybe he can make it? Maybe it will be alright? It's here. it's out. My baby is finally seeing the light of day and is now available in e-book form compatible with pretty much any reader model under the sun, purchasable here: https://www.epubli.de/shop/buch/A-Song-for-Ghosts-Manja-Siber-9783750280281/95191 To celebrate this day there are a few nice things to be had. For me, it's sparkling wine and congratulatiory flowers, courtesy of @cornelia.franke.autorin . For you all - well, get the novel today or in the next two weeks and pay only 1,99€ for it, rather than the regular 4,49. For this you get: opera drama. A bit of history. Opera singers. Capes. Pirate trousers. The beautiful city of Dresden in all her 1848 glory. So all in all, a lot of fun. It's been a blast writing this and I hope you'll have just as much fin reading it. #asongforghosts #novel #queerromancenovel #historicalqueerromance https://www.instagram.com/p/B860pyWI0HI/?igshid=hcohlb88i2f2
