“Do you want to play a game with Mama?”
Predictably, Izuku nodded, almost hopping in place, confusion already forgotten.
“Can I seek, Mama?” He leaned forward, lips pressed in a pout, hands propped against her arms while still hopping in place, “Kacchan never lets me seek.”
“Sorry, Izuku,” Moving her hands to grasp his, Inko squeezed them reassuringly, “I want you to hide for me. It’s important, alright?”
The last thing that Izuku hears from his Mama is to hide.
Izuku is an earnest boy, a good boy. He takes those words to heart.

MORE NAGA AU!
YO! IT'S ME AGAIN WITH NY RAMBLES!
Tumblr media
Anyways! I have been able to think about it more!
Warning! Character Death! Angst!
Tumblr media
Summary!
Before I ramble if you don't know about my Naga AU Izuku is basically a bitter person who has issues and after the events of the USJ and Sports Festival transfers to the Hero Course, albeit reluctantly.
Now Onto More Plot Points!
I was thinking about his backstory because I wanted it to affect him and have Izuku hold some hatred and disgust towards his quirk. Not by a lot, he learned to love his quirk overtime but in the beginning? Yeah. He did not love it. Here's what I gathered:
Izuku was eight when he got his quirk. He had four years of quirkless discrimination under his belt already, however, how did Izuku get his quirk? Trauma. A forced activation quirk. Izuku watched his father - yes Hisashi was a good, but still not often present, father - die in front of his face to gain the quirk.
His quirk.
Another plot point is that Izuku is a descendant of All for One and Izuku knows that. He watched as his father, another descendant of All for One, die in front of him because the man, in his last moments of life, told Izuku about his family. Why his "Papa was never often... around," Izuku activates his quirk and bam!
All for One is currently clueless that Izuku is even related to him, he only knows that he's the somehow related to All Might. Or so it seems.
Why is All for One clueless? Izuku never took the Shigaraki name. Hisashi knew he was being chased and when he met and fell in love with Inko, Hisashi practically begged to Inko that Izuku will take her name rather than his.
Inko and Hisashi are said to be married, they had their vows and everything but Hisashi made sure his status was single in fear of All for One, his predecessor, taking away their lives as well.
Once Izuku realized the absolute shit crap his dad's family was, Izuku deceived his own mother, and made her believe and still to this day say that Hisashi is working aboard and sending cards like he used to. If only she knew it was her own son sending those post cards in fear of her sadness.
Izuku carries the guilt and constant fear of not being able to protect his people enough, he already failed the adult naga, to not be enough. His dad died in front of him and no matter how cruel and cold he is to everyone, he's scared of not being able to protect those who are close to him. Those he cares about.
Heavy emotional trauma and healing.
During the training camp arc another plot point appears! I mentioned before about the ocarina Izuku gave to Bakugou! Turns out he also gave one to his mother, whose a nurse, and his mother, Inko, explains about the ocarina and why Izuku became feral.
The ocarina is a wind musical instrument originated from Central America! (At least, that's what Google tells me,) back to the story, Izuku's ocarinas that he gave to his mother and Bakugou are made by his scales. They are designed to only be played by them, if anyone else plays the ocarina, Izuku will assume they are in danger and then turns feral and goes, no matter how far, to protect them with his life.
This is one of those moments where we see Izuku explicitly show worry and care to Bakugou, who for the longest time thought Izuku hated him, and 'Bakugou smirks because a league member played the ocarina that was meant to be his.
The fact that he was kidnapped doesn't help his case. Bakugou just knows that once the Naga comes around, venom will be spreading around his fangs.'
So, yeah, the ocarinas Izuku makes are made by his scales. He will know when it's played and he will know if they are in any danger.
After the training camp, Izuku starts to mellow down a bit, still guarded but a bit nicer that when Izuku and Bakugou have their (other) argument. Izuku admits straight up, to Bakugou of all people, that he cares for their class and that he hates that he will never be enough to protect them. That he will have to see another person who he cares about die in front of him while he's weak and useless.
Izuku has a inferiority complex and it will show.
So far about the snakelets, I've confirmed about only four. A pair of twins, the youngest who admired the adult naga, and the second oldest who's a teenager.
I only managed to get a sort dynamic to the youngest, second oldest, and the adult naga. The youngest naga admired the adult naga and swore to be like him. However, once he died the youngest started to project the adult naga to the second oldest and the second oldest knew. And they didn't have the heart to reject that but they knew what the youngest was doing.
The adult naga came when Izuku was nine and was processing his quirk, he hated it back then, and when Izuku cried out of nowhere the adult naga appeared. The adult naga was like a father figure to Izuku as they grew together and when he died? Yeah, it was like Hisashi all over again but worse, Izuku could've prevented that.
Which is why Izuku doesn't like Aizawa, at first, his 'father' died for this man.
Aizawa is just wondering how he can get Izuku to like him (he has seen how he acts with Mic.)
Edit: WHY DID IT TAKE ME A LONG SECOND AS TO WHY IZUKU LIKES MIC?!
(The names Hizashi and Hisashi are so similar! (In spelling.) Which could be another reason as to why Izuku likes Present Mic!
Aizawa is sobbing okay -
That's all I have for the Naga AU, which isn't a whole lot, but hey having more of a general idea helps!
P.S I have been drawing the Naga AU Izuku and I will post it when I get it done!
Bye-Bye! This almost made half of my soul cry but yeah! Hisashi wasn't a bad father, maybe absent but he had a reason! Anyways - see y'all in the next ramble!

(I just love this bird okay! It's doing its dancy dance!)

Oxygen Will Burn
Summary
Midoriya Hisashi made a choice when he left all those years ago, taking his mother's and second family’s lives in his wake. He forgot about his child, his ”daughter”, but damn will his son make it clear he never forgot. He should have tied up all loose ends: The frayed ones burn the brightest.
Inko Midoriya and the Bakugous were found dead after a house fire, except, Izuku knows it wasn’t an accident. After all these years, the culprit finally returns, but he has forgotten about his missing piece. His crime would have been perfect if it wasn’t for him. It’s not like he has new scary dog privileges or anything, after all, the cops would have contacted Hisashi if they’d found his kid.
Notes
This is a combination of two stories I’d thought up, I think this is the better outcome.
Word Count - 13,155
Izuku had a feeling something was going to go wrong. His last few weeks had gone wonderfully and the world hated him. His classmates said that his dad said that, and Kacchan used to say that. He understood that nothing would go as planned every time. No matter what, things were ruined or something had to happen, it just was a matter of when.
His sixth birthday had been a few weeks ago, dad had gotten him a lighter. He kept telling him that he could feel warm things and his dad never listened. He couldn’t make fire, not like his dad could, but he could see, smell, and taste heat. It was weird and he was curious if it was like a snake. He knew they were cold-blooded and needed heat to warm up. He wasn’t cold-blooded but sunlight and warmth were an absolute necessity for him. It felt wonderful and let him indulge in his quirk without repercussions.
The aspects were wrapped around his brain and he was curious about what activated it. He could close his eyes and focus, allowing the heat to bleed into his sight and he was curious if he could do it with them open. On top of that, he wanted to know if he could maybe change the intensity of the heat or get better at sensing them. Izuku knew his dad didn’t like his quirk, he wanted him to be useful and he could just tell.
Until he figures out the full extent of his abilities, he’s not allowed to register his power. He hates that since everyone treats him like he’s quirkless. He told Kacchan when it developed, able to sense his palms' heat up to ignite the nitroglycerin in his sweat. He found it fascinating and it was good practice to close his eyes and focus on his classmates even if no one believed him.
His aunt and uncle had been out of town during his birthday, their fashion company had become a big hit so they’d been on a business trip. Kacchan had stayed with his family, his momma loved his auntie so it made sense, since their moms were best friends. They might not be related in any biological way but Izuku still loved them unconditionally. They were on their way to his tiny apartment as his momma set everything up. She always seemed to be happy with guests so, the people coming were special to her, she was even breaking out her nice china.
He was sitting at the kitchen table as she set things up, scribbling in the new notebook she’d gotten him. His momma had even managed to get him hero stickers to decorate the plain cover with. He used all the All Might one’s already and a few of the Present Mic ones. He was an up-incoming pro, fresh out of UA, and even had his own radio show. Izuku had managed to call in the week after his birthday. The man had seemed a little baffled at his stream of questions, but he still answered some with gusto. It was funny hearing him speak happily while being able to tell he was confused.
So far he’d added a large number of new questions about him, including a few on a hero he’d noticed in the area. The man was pretty new as well and he was pretty sure he was an underground pro, the complete opposite of Present Mic. He saw him through his window before but he’s also felt his heat through the building. It was hard to tell when he was on the roof, because of the number of tenets, but people’s heat signals were surprisingly unique.
He liked watching him jump around on the roofs but he normally never got to catch a glimpse, after all, he had a bedtime and momma always tried her best to make sure he slept a good amount. He didn’t know the hero’s name yet but he still drew him in his book, it wasn’t detailed or anything but he could recognize the general features.
“What are you drawing in there Izuku? Is it a hero?” His Momma asked him, pulling him from his focus. He closed his book and nodded before speaking up.
“He’s an underground Momma, we have to be quiet.” He explained with a small hush. He watched her face brighten as she smiled and gave a nod in response, bringing her hand up and shushing him.
“Okay.” She whispered, pulling a giggle from him before she stood up and kissed his head. “Mitsuki should be here soon with her boys, can you go check if your Papa’s car is in the lot?” His momma asked as she motioned towards the window. He nodded, not wanting to upset her, and made his way over. He couldn’t feel his dad around here or his car. So when he looked out it wasn’t a surprise to not see anything resembling the man.
He understood how much his momma loved his dad. She’d known him a lot longer than he had, so she’d probably seen the good in him. He didn’t understand it though. He didn’t remember anything good when he was little, just that he was away a lot. Most of the time, his father would ignore him or bother him about his quirk. He didn’t like it since, no matter how much he explained, his dad never listened or believed him.
“Dad’s not here yet,” Izuku said honestly as he walked back to the table and lifted his book. His dad didn’t like them, so he wanted to hide them away before he’d get home. “I’m gonna go to my room Momma.” He told her as he proceeded to scramble towards his room.
“Okay, but you’ll have to come out to say hi to everyone.” His momma told him, he nodded as he closed the door before slipping his notebook into his bag. He kept his most prized possessions in there or hidden in his closet. His dad had taken away his things before. He said it was because he’d broken his mom’s vase but Izuku had felt it melt and it smelt like his dad afterward.
He found his dad’s present weird, his heat would often be throughout his body, but it seemed to triangulate with his throat when he spoke with him. He knew his dad could breathe fire, it was part of why he could sense heat sources, and it scared him. It made no sense for him to activate his quirk, he was just talking with his son after all. He knew that was probably not completely true, his dad had hated it when his Momma made him change his pronouns. Izuku may have been a girl earlier in life, but he’d quickly found his joy with boy things.
His dad had said it was a tomboy faze but, when his Momma switched to using the ones for him that she used for dad, Kacchan, and uncle, it made him feel warm and fuzzy inside. He started to feel more confident and open. When she asked if he wanted to change his name to Izuku, he’d been overjoyed with it. He couldn’t contain his reaction, able to recall how he bounced and rambled on the way to the court. They even went to the store after and she got him a name tag for his bag, Izuku in big letters over the opening.
He used that for everything. The yellow may have originally been because his Momma called him Tanpopo, dandelion, but it quickly changed to being Present Mic and All Might themed. They both had blonde hair, so it reminded him of them even if he still liked that nickname. She’d started to call him Banī, bunny, after the change because he’d bounce with joy when she said his name. His dad had just opted to call him Izu because it was the only part of his new name that allied with his dead name.
Momma had been pissed at first, it almost got her to kick him out, but she agreed it was fine as long as it was a nickname. He hasn’t heard his dad willingly say that name since they had a meeting to confirm the changes with his school.
Izuku did his best to distract himself from his roaming train of thought, moving instead to get nicer clothes on. He just had an All Might shirt and shorts on, so he changed into some nice jeans and a bumble bee-themed shirt. He smiled as familiar heat entered his radius, it was only a block right now but it was bound to grow, he turned to head and he opened the door of his room. “Momma! They’re here!” He told her eagerly. He wanted hugs and kisses from his Auntie and hair ruffles from his uncle.
He smiled as he bounced on his heels and closed his eyes. He could see them getting closer, Kacchan’s hands always had more warmth than most people and Masura always had spikes of warmth when he was active. His auntie may not have as clear of a quirk but some kinds of heat would smell like glycerin, so he could easily pick up the scent that covered her. As small hands reached to knock, he pulled the door open and giggled.
Izuku had to stifle a squeak when Kacchan yelped and fell back against his mother’s legs. He was quick to grab his hand and pull him inside as his momma peaked out of the kitchen. “Mitsuki! Hey you guys!” She called out. He turned back towards the adults, a little surprised to find that his uncle had two presents in his hands. He pushed away his thought of who they were for, he didn’t wanna be seen as greedy and moved to sit down with the blonde.
Their parents got to speaking and catching up about the trip as he opened up the toy box and started to move them toward the center of the living room. “Deku, I’m playing All Might this time,” Kacchan said simply as he snatched Izuku’s figure from his hand. He looked up at him and just nodded. He wanted to fight it, he always played the villain, but he’d gotten to play him on his birthday.
“Okay.” He said simply before they started their game.
__________
Dinner had been nice. Momma had made Katsudon and spicy pork for his dad, uncle, Kacchan, and him. They all had a spice tolerance because of their quirks and honestly spicy food was amazing. He thought it was interesting that he could sense how spicy it was with his quirk. He thought it just worked with heat sources, but he enjoyed learning new things. His dad ended up not coming home for a while. His aunt and uncle were about to leave with Kacchan and his Momma had sent him to go change into his pj’s. He felt his father’s heat source pop up suddenly and a new person as well. He was a little uncomfortable with how hot they felt, so he finished his task and closed his eyes.
His father’s throat was smoldering. The bright yellow and white told him it was getting hotter as he got closer. The other person was pretty standard with their warmth, it was average other than it being warmer in their head. Either they had a mental quirk, were sick, or something of that sort. He opened his eyes and was just about to leave his room to let his Momma know when the front door was pushed open, a loud bang resonating as it dented the wall.
He immediately moved into his closet, hiding from the heat. When he closed the door, he let his eyes follow as he faced the direction of their sources. His mom had stepped forwards to greet him, upset about the door. The voices were muffled as his uncle hid Kacchan with his legs. He wanted to go help but he was scared. His dad had always threatened to hit him when momma wasn’t paying attention. He didn’t wanna get hurt or have him hurt her.
Izuku didn’t get what he wanted.
Some words were exchanged, muffled by the wall, and he managed to pick up small bits and pieces. It was mostly gibberish and didn’t make sense without context. That was when the heat moved. He heard his mother’s voice fill the air, screaming in pain as his father’s heat pushed against hers. It came from his mouth and that told him all he needed to know. He froze up as Mitsuki pulled her away from him, her heat seeming limp and too quiet for his liking. He wanted to help, and do anything, but he was only six. He could see Masura pulling Kacchan towards the door, trying to get him out so he could help.
His Auntie was next. His dad burned the doorway, keeping his uncle inside with Kacchan. He didn’t know what to do, he was panicking and he knew he didn’t have anything that could be utilized well. He trembled as the yelling became louder and louder. He trembled as he curled up, covered his ears, and closed his eyes. He was desperate to escape the noises and things he could feel. It didn’t work but he tried his best. He saw his uncle's heat light up and get brighter as he yelled out. His mom was laying on the floor, auntie shaking her as she cried out in pain. All of them had been burnt and he could see flames spread across the carpet and move towards Kacchan.
The smaller heat source was heading to his room, he heard a voice flood his ears as his best friend spoke up. “Get out! Get out of here Izuku!” Kacchan yelled for him after something fell. He tried to push the door open but something was blocking it. He had to get to Kacchan but he couldn’t. The warmth spreading through the building was becoming overwhelming and he couldn’t make out his family's heat sources anymore. He was shaking as he rushed towards the window and pushed the latch open. He could see smoke slipping into his room through the top of his door.
Izuku wanted to go get Kacchan and his family, he also wanted his Momma. He turned back for his bag, grabbed a picture of him and momma from his desk, and shoved it inside. He grabbed some clothes, knowing he’d need them if he was to be sent to someone else. He wasn’t a stranger to death, his grandparents had passed not that long ago and his mom had told him about how being orphaned worked since he’d asked a lot of questions.
He climbed over the window sill and clambered into the tree. His bag felt heavy on his back and he felt his face get wetter when he started crying and tried to make his way down. He scraped his abdomen and hands as he slid down. He sniffled as he got from the floor. He could see people rushing out of the building. He looked back towards the building, feeling it overpower him. He stepped back and held his head. Blood began to trickle down his nose and chin as he shook before beginning to run away.
He stumbled over his feet as he rushed before he caught two familiar heat waves. Kacchan was being pulled out by men, first aid: they were applying oxygen to him and his dad. His father was watching from a distance. His throat was burning so he couldn’t help looking toward him. Izuku felt his eyes swell with more tears as his dad climbed into a car, not sparing their home a second glance.
He couldn’t believe his dad had just done this. He was so mad at him for this and was completely upset. He was quick to follow after him, burning his dad’s heat into his memory. He was gonna find him. He had to do anything to avenge his family. He’ll find him eventually, even if it took years.
_________
Izuku was sitting on a roof, kicking his legs as he munched on a sandwich he dug from a nearby dumpster. It was a completely sealed Uncrustable when he found it so he made the decision it was safe. He was pretty sure it was his 12th birthday anyways, so he deserved something. He was pretty used to his environment after 6 years on his own.
When he was first orphaned, he refused to see Hizashi as his father, he managed to survive due to the help of other homeless folk but they only did it to teach him the basics. After that, he was on his own. Growing up like this was easy, at least in the sense of keeping people away from him. His quirk did wonders with safety.
His body had been changing, he didn’t understand it because he never managed to get that far in his education. When everyone thinks you’re dead you kinda can’t enroll yourself in school. He ended up making his camp/home near the public library. It wasn’t used much so they didn’t bother with cards or anything but he read a ton of the books and he’d got into a free online program for classes after he passed the entrance exam.
He’s up to date with his proper education but he didn’t know much about health or… puberty. It had scared him at first when he started to develop. He panicked and ended up going to a homeless shelter for help. The nurse they had there had explained some stuff, his pains were normal, his body was changing, etc. He still wasn’t sure but he ended up reading about it in the library.
So here he was, a couple of months later, anxious about when he was supposed to get a period. It was stupid to dwell on it but those needed him to have pads and he can’t steal those, he can’t bring himself to. Izuku was trying to have a night to himself, something to destress and think about at the moment. Of course, it couldn’t stay like that.
He wouldn't consider himself a vigilante, more a good samaritan who lives nowhere. He often catches fights, assaults, or anything with his quirk or hears people panic. Most of the time he just jumps in to help and other times he does what he’s supposed to and stays out of it unless someone’s life is in danger. A scream broke the atmosphere of chittering rats and shifty activity, causing him to drop his half-eaten prize.
He was kinda pissed about that, but he would at least see if this would need his attention. He moved across the roofs and closed his eyes. He could see a heat source struggling away from another. He opened them as he got closer before he froze up. He moved to hide in the shadow, swallowed in heavy draping fabric. He quieted down his breathing and closed his eyes to focus on the commotion. The attacker was pulled away by another source, the head area heating up with quirk use. He recognized the source, it had been a few years, but he recognized him.
The victim moved away from the fight, stumbling deeper into the dark. He knew the pro would have everything taken care of so he instead went towards the woman. Izuku quietly dropped as he spoke up. “Hey.. you’re safe.” He said softly as he kept his hands up and stayed distant from her. The woman was quick to whip around towards him, fear lacing her face. “The fight will be over soon and then you can head back to the hero.” He added on.
She seemed confused before she turned to look him over a little more, her face seemed to melt into slight disbelief as she spoke up. “You’re a child..” The woman muttered. He took a step away before closing his eyes. The hero no longer had heavy heat and the other source seemed to be unconscious.
“You can head back to him.” He told her as he moved almost instantly to climb a fire escape. He couldn’t be recognized or else they’d find him, forcing him to go with his father, and then he’d be killed. The pro called out for her so he used it to silently slip into the night. He didn’t need anyone. When the time came, when his dad returned to Japan, he’d be ready.
___________
Izuku tossed and turned all night, it wasn’t like his bed was comfortable anyways, because of his stress. Ever since that pro hero caught that villain, he’s noticed him around the area a lot more. It seemed like he was looking for something so he kept his distance and tried to just ignore everything. It wasn’t working and he was still around after a few weeks. On top of that, it was around the anniversary of his family's passing. No matter how much time goes by, this week is always the hardest.
He sneaks into his mom’s old workplace and leaves flowers at the shrine they’d made for her. He did the same with his aunt and uncle at their work. He couldn’t manage it this time because they were both right in the middle of that pro’s patrol route. It was so upsetting that he couldn’t bring himself to even try. He didn’t know where Kacchan had ended up after they took him from the hospital. The newspapers had mentioned the number of casualties as well as how he was missing. The numbers didn’t add up so he knew the blonde had survived the blaze.
He sat up from his bed, looking around the small room he’d snuck into. The building was abandoned but this one room had the most protection from the elements, so he chose it. He made his way toward his stash and began to dig through his trinkets and everything. He felt a worry flood his form as he noticed a distinct lack of food. He groaned as he stubbornly got up and slid his shoes on. He was planning on going out next week but he didn’t realize how little he had right now. He wouldn’t make it a week without anything but at least it was right before garbage day. Hopefully, he could fish up something edible from behind a store.
He pulled himself out of the building and began to scale the side of the building. Izuku hit the ground a little rough as he proceeded to move and head down the alley. He knew better than to be out in the open, that's how you got mugged, kidnapped, or something worse. He wasn’t gonna get himself killed for a stupid mistake. He’s been told he can act feral sometimes, mainly when it’s around food or keeping to himself. It made sense to despise being touched by strangers when you’ve grown up in a  situation where people only touch you if they want something.
It was late enough that he wasn’t worried about store owners catching him, but he didn’t want to interact with anyone else in his situation. Not everyone will be nice when you invade their territory. Izuku had to abandon about three dumpsters before he found one seemingly untouched. This was probably the thing he hated the most about being homeless, dumpster diving. It always ended with him smelling like trash and didn’t ensure any reward for his efforts.
He hosted himself up over the metal edge, glad no sharp edges greeted his bare hands. He couldn’t afford to need a tetanus shot. Scrambling into the large tin was honestly easy because of how much was inside. It was a miracle it hadn’t rained recently so at least the thing wasn’t flooded. He tore bags open when he was sure what might be in them. He checked expressions dates if he found anything but most of the contents were expired. He managed to snag a small box of crackers, some pocky, and a few sealed bottles of water. He found a lot more but most of it was questionable enough that he avoided it.
As he removed himself from the dumpster and shoved his prize in his bag, he flinched when a heat source suddenly landed behind him. The person hadn’t even made a noise. He didn’t bother turning around, trying to take in his surroundings and figure a way out of this. He closed his eyes for a second before he recognized the heat near him. He looked down at his feet as he held his bag to his chest, a deep voice breaking the tense silence they made.
“Look, I understand you need to eat but, you could just go to the homeless shelters for food.” The pro muttered to him. Izuku didn’t dare turn around, he couldn’t talk with him. The man would realize he was a kid and drag him to the police station. He couldn’t risk getting in his father’s hands.
“Sorry..” He responded, trying to make his voice sound older than he was. He noticed the man’s source turn more puzzled as he stepped forward. Izuku held his bag tighter before he moved rather abruptly. He threw his bag over his shoulder as he ran past the man, hearing him curse. Where his heat had made contact with his scarf allowed Izuku to dodge the looping fabric.
He was heading towards a crowd, making sure he knew how big, to hide among the people. He couldn’t get caught. He had to get away. He felt something tug his ankle as he tripped forward, he moved to catch himself feeling his hand press against the ground and bent in a way it wasn’t supposed to. He couldn’t help a small scream as a snap sounded out. He wanted the rope to get off him, feeling it tighten around his skin.
Izuku tugged at his foot as he listened to the man speaks up. “I wasn’t gonna arrest you, but you ran so I have no choice.” The pro admitted as he touched his shoulder. Izuku tensed as he felt this. He wanted to be let go and he couldn’t help squirming as the man moved him onto his back before pulling his hand away with a curse. His body felt sore as he tried kicking the scarf away, watching as it began to burn the longer it kept in contact with his skin.
He scrambled to his feet as the man looked at him in shock. The hero’s hand had a hotter temperature than before and Izuku used the confusion as a sign to bolt away from him, desperately trying to hide away from the man who found him. He was sprinting, holding his broken wrist to his chest as he heard a voice call after him.
“Wait! Kid! Come back!” The man yelled out and he felt himself speed up at it. They were gonna know he was in the area. The cops were gonna be looking for him, his dad would get him, and he’d end up like the rest of his family. He could feel himself panic as he made his way back to his home, unable to keep from puking up his stomach acids at the stress and pain in his arm. He had to be more careful from now on.
As the weeks went by he had more and more encounters with the pro, but he never once let the man get anything out before he bolted. There were even times the man hadn’t seen him but he’d sensed him. Izuku refused to trust him and he was still going around with a broken wrist, he kept irritating it and preventing it from healing right and it was rather clear to anyone who knew how to identify them.
He’d been doing well this week, he had his arm in a sprint and had it wrapped up well. He was very quietly moving around the street, trying to find a lost cat. The old lady gave him snacks often, so he felt obligated to help out.
He wanted to help but also because he wanted to ask for food as a reward instead of money. He wanted to try not to worry about anything this week food related. He was following heat signatures, trying to find the feline only for him to snag its heat source. The animal was sitting in front of an apartment. He made his way up, slowly but surely as he moved to scoop her up only for the door to be opened. He froze up in response, he’d been so focused on the cat he hadn’t considered other people.
“Stop being so im-” The man started and Izuku felt his heart droop at the sound of his voice. He looked up, making eye contact with the man he’d been trying to avoid for months. He swallowed anxiously as he stood up and held the cat.
“Sorry! My grandma was looking for-” `He started, trying to get out of the situation before the man interrupted him. He was fucked, wasn't he?
“Kid, I’ve seen you around. No offense, honestly, I know you’re homeless.” The man told him simply as he proceeded to quietly run his fingers through his hair. Despite how he looked, with his slouch, prominent stubble, and tired attitude, the man’s hair was well taken care of. If it wasn’t for that, he could be mistaken as homeless. The feline knew him so she seemed comfortable in his grip as he shifted anxiously.
“I mean… I’m not lying. A lot of us call her grandma..” Izuku found himself muttering as he held her a little closer. He could feel another human heat source inside the apartment along with a few other cats. He felt like he knew the other person, but he wasn’t certain.
“Either way, you need to get off the streets.” The man said plainly as he stepped out. “We’re gonna give the cat back and then you are coming back here with me.” The pro said sternly. He wanted to argue, really he did, but the man’s tone made him freeze. It wasn’t mean, more protective than he expected as he went ahead and made an anxious noise. He knew the man couldn’t see how skinny he was under his baggy clothes but he had a feeling the man knew.
“Ok..” Izuku told him as he looked at his legs and started to lead the man away. He’ll get a meal out of this then bolt and leave where he was. He shouldn’t be so close to his old place, even if he’s trying to catch his dad. He could feel the man’s eyes on him as they walked. It wasn’t like he knew what to say, most adults just scolded him when they found him outside of school or digging in the trash.
“I’m Aizawa.” The hero Aizawa told him as they turned a corner. He seemed tired but not at him, just had that aura on him. Izuku is pretty sure it’s a thing about the man. He didn’t respond as they stopped in front of grandma’s place. He blinked a little before knocking on the door. The woman was delighted to have her cat back, she offered him the money and he refused it. She should keep her money anyways, it wasn’t like he was gonna be in the neighborhood anymore.
The silence was kind of too heavy for his liking. The lack of noise made him uncomfortable as they walked. The hero simply let him stay quiet, he didn’t pressure him into speaking or put his hands on him. He seemed fine with making sure he was safe as they walked back toward his apartment.
Izuku brought his hands to his chest as they moved, carefully walking. He could feel his stress rising as they continued to walk. He didn’t know what to do, he had to get out of there but he also knew he needed to eat something. He can get a meal out of this if he’s smart and does not get caught.
The man opened his door and the other heat source seemed to turn to them both quickly. Izuku sheepishly stepped inside and felt his eyes widen at the sight of the blonde hero he’d adored when he was little. He looked at his feet, not daring to make eye contact as the black-haired man closed the door behind him. The three other small heat sources were quick to scramble out from their hiding places. Two were right over and meowing at him while the third seemed to hang back. He looked at the small feline, making out her gray tabby coloring and pattern as he softly messed, and ran a few fingers through his hair before the other hero spoke up, getting out of here is gonna be harder than he thought.
“Hey, I didn’t expect you to bring home a listener Sho’.” The blonde said simply as he stepped back into the kitchen. “I’ll plate another serving!” The man added quickly as Aizawa motioned him into the apartment. He didn’t really like apartments anymore, too many heat sources, and were too small. He was anxious as he stepped over the two cats that intertwined his legs as he tried to keep his focus on the only one who kept her distance. “That's Suna.”
He brought his attention away from the cat to the man as he spoke. “She’s normally more of a hider.” He said plainly as he walked toward the kitchen. Izuku took note of how few strides it took him, far less than the amount he needed. He knew he was small for his age, he wouldn’t be surprised if they thought he was 8 or something, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t grow. He was only 12, he had plenty of years to grow a bit more and no longer be under 5 feet.
Izuku sat down and kept his hands to himself. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust them, well he didn’t but still, he just wanted to be respectful and keep from upsetting them. He watched as they brought food over to him. He was a little embarrassed to admit he couldn’t help getting excited at the sight of fried rice and a bunch of vegetables. He smiled, “Arigato.” He muttered softly as he grabbed a pair of chopsticks before beginning to eat. The blonde man smiled a little before he spoke up.
“So, what's your name?” Present Mic asked him. He swallowed nervously as he looked down at his food. He wasn’t too sure how to respond since he didn’t want them looking into his information but he knew they would figure it out eventually.
“Izuku.” He told them simply before he went ahead and stuffed another bite of food into his mouth. He wanted out of this situation. It was stressful and he had to get back to his place. It was always a risk to leave for too long since people were always willing to steal to stay alive even if it cost another’s life.
He watched as the black-haired man seemed to ponder something. He was pretty quiet in response as he went ahead and just seemed to avoid scaring him away. He ate quickly and honestly a part of him wanted to just eat a little more and relax to sleep. He got up when they did and moved closer to the door to pretend to pet the cats, he did, gently stroking two of them. Suna was near the front door, she seemed to peer at him before she stepped forward and nuzzled his leg. Izuku looked down at the cat and took in her bright green eyes.
He couldn’t help tearing up. He felt stupid for seeing his mother in those eyes but they were so similar and they told him she wasn’t one for people. Izuku rubbed his eyes before he moved and stroked the cat’s back. He could feel Suna’s rumbling purr as he gave a soft smile before opening the door. “I’m sorry..” He whispered to her, keeping the end of his apology to himself as he closed the door and bolted. ”Mom...”
_____________
Izuku could feel their heat sources fade into the distance as he ran. He could sense the sudden panic and anger before he got too far away. He could have sworn it became more regretful at the last second though. He wasn’t an empath. He knew that, but for some reason, he could feel if the heat sources were happy or not. It was weird but he opted to just ignore it.
The rush to his home was time-consuming It tired him out even more with a full stomach so he was quick to crash once he was safe inside of his hiding place. Sleep came to him easily and he was dead asleep for what felt like forever after the combination of the stress and the full meal he’d gotten. He woke up around noon the next day, taking a mental note of how long he’d slept. 9 hours was a kami sent after how hard it was to get an hour of uninterrupted sleep.
He tried his best to wake up, tapping his cheeks and sitting up as he tried to contemplate what he needed to do. His problem from last night was still present, he needed to get food, and he probably had to move further away from Grandma’s place. The pros will check for him around there so it would be a safe bet.
Izuku went ahead and used the spare time to head down to the local library and read up on some stuff. He made sure to take care of anything private beforehand, no point risking bleeding through his pants, and began to browse the collection of stories and lessons they had. He enjoyed learning about whatever he could get his hands on so a decent amount of these books had already been devoured by his mind.
He traced the spines of them with his finger as he read title after title, debating if he should move from the non-fiction stories. He’d learned what they meant, what is true and what is false. He would have learned in kindergarten and probably did, but he didn’t make it very far due to the incident and had to ask the lady at the desk. She’d been very eager to explain, it made sense considering books weren’t as commonly used anymore. It took him a while, but eventually, he stumbled upon something on quirk analysis he hadn’t scavenged through yet and began to tear into its pages.
He finished that book in about an hour, it was definitely above his age’s reading level but that didn’t stop him. Izuku moved through about three others before he had to leave. It was a nice way to pass the time and learn even if he had to do it in one sitting. Otherwise, he risked losing what he was reading even if it was unlikely.
He made his way down the alleys, taking his time as he moved and made his way toward the least popular area for the homeless. It meant he had a chance of finding something good without the worry of nothing at all. He had to go quite far into the suburbs but at least it was quiet. He looked through the dumpster behind a convenience store. He couldn’t help smiling at the sight of a bag of seaweed chips. The bag was completely sealed and he felt safe eating it, so he pushed it into his bag. He was quick to move and look through the trash more.
He was trying to be fast since the area was decently dangerous. He had a decent haul before his eyes widened. Izuku could feel something, it was familiar but not in a friendly way. He looked around, trying to track the source before he closed his eyes. He tried to focus on the source before he shot his eyes open. Panic flooded his body, blood rushed in his ears and he scooped up his bag and began to rush out of the area. His dad hadn’t shown his face in this place since his murders. It made sense considering his dad would be recognized.
He could feel his heat source fading away, headed in the opposite direction as he tried to just get away. He could feel the heat from the fire and hear the screaming again. He despised it. The sound would always plague his nightmares and he didn’t want to hear it again, not when he was awake and wouldn’t forget everything by the time he woke up.
Izuku brought his hands up to his ears, pushing against them to try and drown out the sound. He was that scared little kid again and he hated it. He hated not helping back then, not trying to stop it or getting everyone out of his room. He trembled as he climbed up the fire escape and into his home. He hastily began to gather up his stuff. He needed to leave. He had to leave.
His ears were ringing and nothing around him was registering in his brain. He could barely make out the blurs of buildings and heat sources as his body began to become drenched. He could smell rain but also smoke so he couldn’t help but shut that sense down as well. He wanted to go home. He wanted his mom, but she was gone and it was all his fault. He only had himself to blame for what happened.
He could feel how his chest heaved as he stood in front of a semi-familiar door. Izuku wanted to flee but he knew this place. It was new and somehow he felt as if it was safe. He hadn’t felt that way in years. His hands shook as he held onto his belongings. He wanted to knock but his fear and instincts were winning over his panic. The fear of going back to his dad and the instinct that adults were untrustworthy were overwhelming. He was about to leave before the door opened.
His body shook more, he couldn’t tell if it was from the cold or his panic attack but he felt something brush against his legs. A warbled voice met his ears but he was more focused on what was touching him. He stumbled forward as he pretty much dropped what he was holding. Green eyes were staring up at him. Izuku couldn’t help feeling the tension in his chest snap as sobs left him. His ears started to return, allowing him to hear the pouring rain and Present Mic speaking, calling out to Aizawa.
He didn’t care for any of that, just the purring and vibration against his chest as he clung to the feline in front of him. Suna reminded him so dearly of his mom. He couldn’t help melting in response to the pet. She seemed to just remind him he wasn’t alone even though he barely even knew the cat.
He felt as one of the men led him inside, barely glancing when a heat source began to gather up his things. He sniffled and cried as he held onto her and carefully began to stroke her back. Calm slowly began to sink into his body as he held onto the cat and melted into the mental relief she gave.
_______________
Izuku could feel himself returning from his panic. He felt exhausted despite having slept for such a long period. He looked around at the room he was in before down at the cat in his lap. Suna was purring and seemingly asleep as he turned his focus around. He felt eyes on him, and looking up he made eye contact with Aizawa. He was sitting on the other side of the couch, facing toward him. He felt embarrassed about his reaction, they didn’t know anything after all.
“Hizashi is making dinner, kid. Do you think you’ll be up to eating something?” The black-haired man asked him gently. He brought a hand over to resume petting the cat as he went ahead and softly rubbed his eyes. He slightly nodded before he sat up a little more and rubbed his eyes.
“Okay, well... Can you tell me what happened?” Aizawa added after he looked at the boy before he went ahead and shifted. The man seemed to be pretty calm and concerned as he waited for anything to be said or motioned.
“I can’t go to the police..” He admitted as he shifted and carefully looked around the room. He didn’t want to make eye contact with him since it was gonna make him uncomfortable.
“Why Izuku?” The hero asked, making him rub his eyes and softly sigh. He was very nervous but his voice didn’t seem pushing or forceful. It was calm and collected while also worried.
“Dad... I can’t go back to my dad..” He whispered as he curled up a little. Suna wasn’t very happy with having her spot changed, but she went ahead and clambered her way onto his shoulders, perching there without much fuss.
Izuku could feel the man’s confusion and concern before it faded to be more understanding. “It’s Izumi Midoriya? Your full name.” Aizawa asked, which made him flinch. He saw the way the pro seemed to nod before continuing. “I kinda figured as much, my friend didn’t find your body and the Bakugou’s kid asked about you.”
“Kacchan?” The mention couldn’t help but grab Izuku’s attention. “Kacchan, survived?” He asked softly as he felt the feline on his shoulders nuzzle against his head and began to purr. He instinctively brought his hand up and began to pet her before he looked up and made eye contact with Aizawa.
“Yes, the youngest Bakugou is fine. He had some bad burns but one of the nurses at his hospital had a burn quirk. She was able to minimize his scaring.” He felt his anxiety melt at knowing his best friend would grow up not being bullied for his face or anything. He nodded a little and rubbed as tears began to trickle from his eyes. “Why did you introduce yourself as Izuku?” He added on, seemingly gentle and not harsh.
“It’s my name. My chosen name.. Izumi is a girl… I’m not a girl, I’m a boy. I’m Izuku.” He tried to explain as easily as possible as he softly sighed and leaned against the cat. He could feel her tongue roughly brush over his ears, reminding him of the way his mom would gently tug on his ears when she was worried or when he was sleepy.
“Okay, I’m sorry Izuku. Did your dad cause the fire? Is that why you don’t want to see him?” Aizawa asked as he crouched down in front of him. He blinked at his tears and very calmly nodded as he felt his tears increase. This pressure that had been lifted from his chest and years of regret came back. He felt miserable for causing their demise. If he’d just told them his dad was there it would have been avoided.
Izuku was desperately hugging himself as he rubbed at his eyes as he moved to look at the cat as she meowed and tried to get his attention. He was pleased with her and the comfort she brought. He sniffled as he felt himself to just word vomit from his stress.
“D-dad came home late... We got together to have a belated birthday celebration… The Bakugou’s were gone the week of my birthday and... D-dad was mad..” He whispered as he tried to stop his tears. He could hear his mom’s screams and the way his Aunt yelled for them to run. He wanted to stay safe and just melt away from his trauma.
“He s-started yelling, he was so mad. His throat got hotter and then Momma got hot and she screamed..” Izuku told him as he tried to help the man get an understanding of the situation. He didn’t want to die. He needed to make sure someone, anyone knew what had happened. He wouldn't let his mom become another cold case. That wasn’t fair to her or anyone else they knew in life.
He wanted to stop thinking back on everything. “That must have been rough, little listener.” Present Mic said softly as the man got closer. He was quietly rubbing his eyes as he gave a very nervous sniffle. He nodded a little before he looked from the blonde to the black-haired man. “How about we eat and get you into a shower?” The man offered.
Izuku nodded in response as he looked at his feet. Suna jumped off his shoulder and onto the couch, meowing about probably the fact she was hungry. It made the most amount of sense with how late it was and the fact she moved at the mention of eating. He got to his feet and sniffled as he saw the pro on the floor stand, his knees popping as he moved before he went ahead with heading into the kitchen.
Following, the pre-teen quietly rubbed his eyes and tried his best to keep up. He was tired after his panic on top of the whole conversation. He sat down at the table and anxiously kicked his legs before a bowl of ramen was placed in front of him. He gave a very tired sound before smiling. He said thank you before using chopsticks to begin to eat the noodles and the cooked egg that had been placed inside. He was pretty sure his meal had more protein to it but it made some sense.
He ended up getting pretty drowsy as he ate, finishing up a decent amount of his meal before being unable to continue. He wasn’t used to such heavy meals as he managed to sit up. Izuku rubbed at his eyes as he was led into the house. He was drained as he stepped into the bathroom. He noticed the change of clothes inside and he went ahead and nodded as he gained some understanding.
He felt calm as he stepped forward and moved to figure out the shower. He managed to get the water warm before he stripped and got into the shower. It was nice to feel clean and warm for the first time in a while. He felt the water soak his poorly cut curls, the grime cleaning off his body and making his curls brighter and not nearly black.
His skin was darker than normal because of the dirt, and the ungodly amount of sunshine he’s gotten, but naturally, he had an almond nude color to him along with his warm undertones. It felt weird to see his skin clean and not covered in dirt but it felt nice to see all his freckles when normally they were seemingly only on his face.
He loved his skin. Yeah, he wasn’t as dark as his mom. She was African and Japanese while his dad was Puerto Rican with some Japanese heritage down his family tree. His mom had been fine with his dad’s love of his culture but he always talked down on her. He thought his child was darker than he wanted. His dad had been more of a honey while his mom had a nice deep hazelnut color.
When Izuku got out of the shower, feeling refreshed with a clean body He sniffled as saw his body in the mirror. He looked a lot like his mom to the point it made him cry. He really missed having her cuddles and being able to have her take care of his hair. She would even cut it when he said he was a boy. A small sob left him but he was quick to quiet down and calm himself.
He left the room calmly when he finished getting dressed. Suna was sitting down and waiting for him in front of the bathroom as he stepped out. He softly scooped her up and began to pet her. The cat was nice and gentle as she moved up to his shoulder. He was tired and he ended up letting Aizawa lead him to a guest room. Izuku fell asleep shortly after crawling into the bed. He felt comfortable in bed. It was nice to have a proper sleeping place for once.
____________
Izuku hadnt expected the two to keep him, but here he was at 15 with two dads and plenty of aunts and uncles. He was going to Ua. He had cried when his acceptance letter had come in and when they found out he had passed his tests. He was the next holder of Ofa because All Might had managed to see him sparring with his dad and it impressed him. He had been told he’d asked Nezu about ‘the short fighter.’ According to his papa, the pro had thought he was promising and just wanted to know if he had a good spirit.
He was mad at first, considering the Stoat had given out his personal information. He didn’t like talking about the past at all and he knew his family understood that. He kinda wished the man had tried to speak to him himself. It would have at least been nice to give him the option to share his values and past.
He was glad he met him though. Izuku got a chance to be a hero and his dad would never get him here. He was happy with his new family and Suna had become his cat with how attached she was to him. He loved that cat since she reminded him of his mom which was a weird thing. Either way, it was nice to have an emotional support animal and she’s honestly blossomed into the role.
He was pretty pleased with being with his dads. Honestly, his family was wonderful even if it wasn’t what others would consider perfect. He was sitting in the living room, tinkering with some gadget he’d found in the support classroom. Izuku would consider himself an experimental person. He liked to mess with electronics and, even though he was in the hero course, the support course had always interested him. A part of him thinks it’s because of his quirk. He can see where things are overheating or malfunctioning due to the change it showed.
He was honestly just enjoying using his hands and trying to manage to figure out ways to make his body able to contain his new quirk. It wasn’t going well but it was a good way to train his brain and allow him to work through his times of hyper-focusing on things important things. He was pretty happy with what he was doing as his Papa walked out to the living room and handed him an Onigiri.
Izuku eagerly put his work down to eat at it as he looked over to see what the blonde was wanting. He could see that he wanted to talk about something. “Your dad is thinking about having you sit out of his stealth exercise tomorrow.” He said simply.
The teen looked up at him, appalled that his dad would even suggest that. “What?! Why?” He asked in response before taking another bite from his food. He didn’t even notice the fact it had warm pork inside.
“Sho’ knows where you are with stealth, plus none of them would be able to hide from you. Your dad wants to figure out where your peers are and then throw you into the mix on a later date.” His papa explained simply. He smiled a little in response, feeling his dad lurking in the hallway behind him. He didn’t even look away from his food before calming out of the black-haired man.
“Or maybe he’s scared he’ll get his ass kicked by his son.” Izuku said simply as he grinned a little. His dad was quick to intervene in his choice of words.
“Watch your language, and no. I want your classmates to shit themselves when they think they’ve gotten better only to get caught by you.” His dad stated plainly, his smirk most definitely not well hidden behind his scarf.
He smiled as he moved back to his tinkering as his dad sat down on the couch. Suna trod into the living room and proceeded to climb up onto his shoulders. He was used to the cat as she curled up. He went ahead and worked on having her be nice and comfortable. He sat there with a pleasant smile on his face as he worked until his dads practically forced him to go to bed. He had school tomorrow after all.
He changed pretty easily, making sure his binder was off and that he had another one clean for tomorrow. He was happy to be curled up in his bed with Suna bundled up against his back. He was very pleased with her touch as he relaxed. He couldn’t wait to talk with Uraraka about their exercise. He adores stealth even if he won’t be participating in the event. He could be spectating at the very least.
________
Watching as his classmates failed their stealth test was amazing. He felt bad but at least none of them seemed to be upset. Izuku knew how to spar and he’d kicked Kacchan’s ass the first time they spared. He wasn’t great with some things but at the very least he was more informed than his classmates. It shouldn’t take long for them to catch up.
His range had been increased so if he closed his eyes he could see everyone sources from the waiting room. He was able to observe from the screen but he can’t actually see sources through them so closing his eyes was more comfortable than anything. He liked seeing his dad rush around the structures quickly approaching others before they would, seemingly, get scared.
He was laughing with them as his classmates returned. Mina had pouted at first before she burst into laughter as well. Izuku was chatting with his friends as his dad looked for Hagakure. It wasn’t surprising how she was a bit of a struggle, she was invisible, but his dad was on her tail from the look of it. She may be invisible but she wasn’t silent or anything.
He was smiling, watching as Kacchan argued with Kirishima. From what he’d been told, the Kirishima’s had fostered him so they had a sibling bond. It was nice to see him having a good life despite the past. He still remembered how the blonde struggled not to start crying when he walked into the classroom. Katsuki had recognized him and immediately was all over him. It was nice to see his childhood friend. He took notice of the burn that spread across his nose, one end peaking up under his left eye while the other merged down his right cheek, stopping right at his jawline.
He had struggled not to cry himself, knowing his biological father had permanently scarred his face. Izuku knew it had been weird for their fellow classmates to see how he couldn’t help touching the scar, confirming that it was real to him but also letting him to accept what happened. Now they all were peas in a pod. The whole class was like a family and he adored having them. The USJ had been frightening but it brought them closer.
An alarm sounded before too long, at first they thought it was showing the end of their exercise but when it continued to ring everyone was reminded of when the reporters broke in. Izuku was quick to move and check the camera. His dad had Hagakure, he knew they were both safe, so he took to checking the heat sources. He worked through them discounting ones he recognized before he felt his heart slip into his throat. His eyes shot open and he turned to look at his peers before moving to pull out his phone.
Izuku could feel his eyes burning with tears as he shook. He was scared. His dad was here, his bio one not his new dads. He was typing out a message to his Papa before the school went into lockdown. They were all locked up in the supervision room before Momo started to take charge with Iida right by her side. He would be helping but he hated this. He felt like he did all those years ago when his family died. “Midoriya! Can you maybe get access to the school's cameras?”
He turned to look at the black-haired girl before nodding and moving to sit down and mess with the technology. She must have seen him with the support kids, he helped with some of their coding and such. He knew how to hack, Nezu had thought it would be a good skill, so he didn’t take very long to get where he needed to. Momo was instructing his peers to protect the room, making sure the doors were secured even though they were on lockdown.
“Is it anyone from the USJ?” Kacchan asked him pretty swiftly. He knew that his friend remembered his quirk so it wasn’t surprising.
“No, it's not,” Izuku said quickly before he looked over and he could see the moment it clicked in his mind.
He watched as narrow red eyes became wide and blazing. He knew his friend was madder about the past than he was. Izuku was pissed at his dad too but the fear was stronger than that anger. “That bastard.” The blonde said quickly before he turned and looked towards the doors. “Where is he?”
“Kacchan, you can’t go fight him,” Izuku told him quickly as he clicked through the cameras. He went from the East wing to the right, checking each camera and following any flames he could find. He felt more on edge the closer he got to clearing most of the school. He began to check the outside cameras, not enjoying the trail that led toward where they were. Most of the school seemed unharmed other than his papa’s classroom.
His pa had gotten his students out and they were in the auditorium with a few other classes. He could feel the protective nature of the cameras and relaxed at seeing a decent amount of people fine. Midnight was looking for the attacker while Vlad had a few students putting out the fires.
“Who Midoriya?” Izuku heard Uraraka ask as he turned. His classmates were all concerned but also fierce. He knew they didn’t know the story, just that he was adopted, Kacchan knew the reason behind it, and, by connection, so did Kirishima. He couldn’t help feeling protected by his friends. They seemed to at least get the idea he knew who was attacking the school.
“T-the main campus is fine. He’s after me, at least that makes the most amount of sense.” He admitted as he glanced over at Katsuki before the blonde sighed and removed his mask.
“The dick who gave me this fucking scar, Kacchan said abruptly as he looked back at him. “The nerd’s sperm donor.” He added on seeing the confusion on his friends' faces. Some seemed surprised but a few looked as if they already knew who had done that. It would make sense after all. Todoroki out of all their peers seemed downright pissed as he stepped forward and spoke up.
“How does he know you're here?” The dual-colored teen asked as he seemed more defensive and protective. Izuku knew why. Todoroki’s dad wasn’t a good man either, even if he was a pro-hero. His friend had told him a bit of the story, so he understood some of it.
“Well, his quirk is called Fire Breath but it is more of a dragon quirk.” He explained as he turned back to the cameras, clicking through them before a figure showed up on the screen. He recognized those scrappy black curls with a single glance and felt himself freeze up. Izuku shook his head before turning back to his friends. “Dragons have hordes. Before the… incident, my mom and I were that. Now it’s money but… if he lost his current horde then-” Jiro was quick to finish his sentence.
“He’ll try and find any remains. He’s looking for you because he doesn’t have anything else.” She said before looking towards the camera.
“And he’s not gonna be happy to find you surrounded by random people. On top of that, the last time he was near him he nearly killed me, killed my parents, and killed his mom.” Katsuki broke into the conversation again before looking back at Izuku. “You can’t hide this time, I don’t blame you for what happened nerd. He will not stop till he finds you.”
“I know.” He said simply. He knew his dad wasn’t gonna stop. He never did when he wanted something, that was how his dad always was. He was about to continue and respond before a loud yell broke the tense conversation they were having.
Izuku recognized the voice but he kept quiet as he turned back to check the cameras “Aizawa and Hagakure are both safe. They just went into a locker room.” He told them, feeling how his classmates seemed more determined at knowing the only two that were unaccounted for were safe. His phone buzzed as he looked toward the object before checking the message. His dad was checking in on them, his message was concerning but he was quick to read what it said.
“We saw the attacker, he’s heading towards the observation room. You need to get everyone out or you all need to make sure he can’t get in. Don’t get yourselves killed.” Izuku felt an anxious smile spread across his lip as he looked up. He was worried about his new family but he had to trust his dad was safe. He knew the man would be out helping if it wasn’t for the fact he had their classmate and seemed unsure of the situation. His dad may be a pro but he wasn’t an idiot, the man knew when not to take risks.
Izuku took a moment to close his eyes and focus on his surroundings. His bio dad was getting closer to them by the second. He was quick to bark out orders, trying his best to decrease the amount of possible surprise and injury. “Todoroki! Freeze around the doors, if it starts to melt we’ll know he’s near. Momo, can you make a fire extinguisher and a fire safety blanket, we might need to cover others with it.” He was trying his best to be a leader, he may not be class president but he had been at first. His peers looked up to him at least a little bit and that’s all he needs.
Todoroki took to freezing things to the wall, he said that if something dropped it would be more alert and less likely to be ignored. Momo had two extinguishers, one for each door. Shoji held one while the other was in Uraraka’s hands; she had been pretty adamant about her getting to use one. He figured they’d be prepared as he closed his eyes once more, focusing on any heat source outside of the room. He found Aizawa and Hagakure rather easily before he felt the all-too-familiar warmth. He could smell burning flesh and taste iron. His father had always wreaked of death.
He was scared but he had his friends and new family. They wouldn’t let him hurt him but, at the same time, he didn’t want his father to hurt them. If that man laid a hand on any of them, or tried to finish what he started, Izuku wouldn’t let him go so easily. This time he refuses to hide. This time he will save his family. His <strong>father</strong> won’t ruin his life further.
The tension in the room as they waited was thick. Having his eyes closed was frightening but at the same time, he also had the advantage of knowing where their pursuer was. He was trying his best to ignore his fear, letting anger and resentment flood back into their place. He was so mad at his father. The man had taken his mom and ruined his childhood. He refused to be another victim of the man’s horrid game.
His father’s source was swirling with anger. He was pissed beyond hell and back. Izuku would have been scared if it wasn’t for the fact he’s had enough of his dad’s bull shit. The warmth of his throat was screaming with torturous heat. Bright yellow, nearly white, was so heavy he could feel it from down the hall. Izuku shot his eyes open and moved to look around the room, speaking up in warning to his peers. “He’s coming.”
“Not too long now,” Jiro added as she pulled her ear jack from the wall. They had their practical exams soon, this was at least good practice for them even if it was a threatening situation. He was relieved to find his friends were prepared, turning to spread out to make an assault harder. After all, if all your targets were bundled together it was easy to take them down in one attack.
The ice on the walls had begun to melt as the heat got closer. Most of the class was sweating when it was expected they’d freeze because of the thick frost. Todoroki was trying his best to cool the room down, not wanting everyone to get heat stroke. It didn’t take long before a low voice broke through the tension: stern, heavy, and familiar. “Izumi.”
He could feel the puzzling wave that washed over the class before the ice began to swiftly replace it as the voice continued. “Come out and I won’t hurt anyone. I promise, Izumi.” Izuku hated hearing that name. He could see the anger flooding through Katsuki’s face and all it took was a pointed glare to get him to keep his mouth shut. He stepped closer to the door, noting how Todoroki did as well. He knew that his friend had a high heat resistance, and he did too, so he wasn’t gonna tell him off.
He understood the need to be protective. His friend was pissed with what was happening, but he planned on taking his dad on. He didn’t wanna have anyone to deal with his dad’s manipulation and stupid tactics. He knew them better than anyone else. He rubbed his eyes before he took a deep stressed breath and stepped closer to the door as it was forced open. His green eyes met with red, then glared pretty harshly in response to seeing him. He watched as his father looked him over. His eyes were lingering on his hair and his form and he may be a little more fem-looking than he’d like.
“It’s Izuku, Hisashi.” He said sternly as he watched the man’s blood boil. His dad looked absolutely fuming at his short hair. He knew the man had despised it when he was younger. He could see his throat bubble up with heat, turning a building white. He took a deep breath before speaking up. His own anger was starting to rise to the surface along with his fear and anguish for what his dad was a reminder of.
“Why are you here.” He said simply it was more of a statement than anything else since he knew why but he just wanted him to leave. “Did you enter a hero school to just scare the shit out of me?” He added as he went ahead and stepped back. He could feel the temperature drop as Todoroki clearly prepared for him to try anything. He wanted the man to just leave. Heat sources told him that people were working towards them all, and he recognized his Papa and his new family as they got closer.
“Izumi, I’m here to end what you started. I figured I'd be courteous and let you explain why you’ve been avoiding me. I’m your father after all.” Izuku couldn’t help the bubbling frustration that built up. He was so done with his father’s bullshit after all these years.
He held his posture sternly as he stepped forward. “You don’t even know my name!” Izuku snapped at him as he crossed his arms and glared. He could feel ofa burning under his skin, threatening to flair up as he continued.
“You don’t even know your name!” Hisashi called out. He was so done with his father and he wanted his mom so badly, but he was the reason she was gone.
“Yes, I do! My name is Izuku!” He swore at him before Kacchan spoke up.
“Izuku isn’t Izumi. Izumi is dead and Izuku is in her place. Izuku is your son!” The blonde told him as he glared and stepped forward. “But you are no father,” Katsuki told the man as he glared and continued to stay back at least for the other teen.
He could see the way Kacchan wanted to fight. It was pretty obvious that he was still very mad about the past. It made sense. His best friend had to watch both his parents die and his mother’s death. “We are family! We can be a family again!” His father said swiftly as he reached to try and grab his shoulder.
Izuku pulled away and shook his head as adrenaline rushed through him. He wanted Hisashi to just go away. He let his body light up, ofa leaking from his pores and dancing across his skin. He looked so pissed as he spoke up.
<em>”We stopped being a family the moment you killed my mother.”</em> He told him. Venom was lacing every word that left his mouth. He saw the man falter in front of him. This excuse of a man was somehow a husband and a father. He didn’t see it anymore. He was confused by his momma’s appeal for him, but he wasn’t gonna blame her. Love was a strange thing. He had no doubt that his father's love was truly just <strong>obsession.</strong>
“Just leave me alone! I hate you!” Izuku swore as he moved to stand in defense of his friends and classmates. He refused to let anyone else he cared for be a victim of this bastard. He could feel his confusion, the anger was rising and his throat’s heat moved closer to his mouth. He was just about to dive out of the way before a block of ice encased his father’s face, a small huff leaving the man right before it was cut off. He didn’t expect it so he couldn’t help the strangled laugh that escaped his own throat.
His sudden laughter seemed to help the tension that had filled the room snap and bleed out the open door as Kacchan joined him before his peers added to the wave of sound. He was smiling brightly at his friends' clear joy, happy they could at least respond positively in just a stupid situation. He took a few deep breaths to allow his need to squeal with humor to die down before he looked over.
Izuku may be livid with his father, well beyond furious, but he also knew how to recognize when a battle was won. He knew his father was powerless in this situation. This entire room was full of heroes in training, after all, he’d have to be suicidal to try attacking them in their environment.
“Just give up peacefully and I won’t sick my <strong>family</strong> on you.” He told the man. Izuku got closer as his father tried to claw at the ice in his mouth and force it to break. It wasn’t really working cause it wasn’t like he was that physically strong. He stepped forward and grabbed his wrists, bringing them behind his donor's back without any effort. Ofa was still dancing across his skin and through his cells. He was way stronger than him right now either way.
He pinned him down, making sure the position would be nearly impossible to escape from. He had his knee pushed against the base of his back as he held his hands against his neck and shoulder blades. Kacchan was swift to help him as Todoroki moved to leave the room, calling out that the attacker was apprehended.
Izuku could feel his tension slipping away. It seemed like everything had started back up again but he didn’t remember when it had stopped. It could have been when his mom died but that doesn’t feel right. He has a feeling it’s been stopped for a lot longer. How long? He can’t tell, but it might have been when his dad refused him. Called him a little girl despite so much reminding. If he was honest, it would make sense. It marked the beginning of his family’s end.
He shook his head as they got up, Sero having tapped him up to prevent any chance of escaping. It didn’t take too long before his dad and Hagakure made their way into the room, the former of the two swiftly wrapping up the perpetrator in his scarf. He was at least glad he was safe as his Papa burst into the room as well, ignoring the shocked sounds from his peers when Yamada began to fuss over him.
Izuku was well used to his Papa’s protectiveness. It was normally his dad he was with when they needed to be protective but he knew full well the blonde was more viscous when it involved his family. He was at least glad to be near his safe sources as he pretty much melted into the coddling. He was fine with it in this situation at least.
Since no one was hurt, his parents seemed content with not leaving a kick or two on his donor, but also he could see the urge they had to scold and practically kill the man. Cementoss ended up meeting them halfway through campus and took Hisashi from them, no doubt to be handed into the authorities, but he couldn’t help immediately hugging Katsuki once it was over. They were safe and he could never hurt them again. Izuku couldn’t wait to visit his mom’s grave this weekend. She’d be happy to know that he was imprisoned and that they finally got justice. Even if they aren’t here to experience it.

(name) was sick, poor thing whined as he lay on whomever was willing to hold him, currently clinging to Shouta as the man graded homework single handedly "I know, your other dad is getting you more medicine" Shouta said kissing the boys head, giving the babe extra attention to calm gim. "Hows he holding up?" Hitoshi asked as he came into the dorms, often hanging here when he's not in his own dorm and was worried about his baby brother dealing with a nasty flu "he's less than thrilled, his tempature is steady" Hitoshi took the little babe who grunted but didn't stop it as the teen carried him "want me to take him for a walk? Get some air?"
"If you want kiddo" Shouta looked a bit relieved as he watched the two, Hitoshi took his role as big brother very seriously to both Eri and (name), he was thankful the two didn't see the boy as the son of overhaul but their baby brother who loves custard and giving kisses.
Hitoshi wandered around the dorms with (name)s little bag, the babe just staring at passerbys who cooed at him "poor thing" a student said as Hitoshi rubbed the boys back, shushing his whine "it's alright bud, let's head back yeah?" Pops should be back by now.
"Toshi?" A voice called out and the purple haired teen turned to see a few of 1-A together "oh my gosh! It's (name)!" Mina said barreling to the two as (name) whined "awww what's wrong with him?" She asked and Hitoshi looked at Izuku who looked focused on the kid, mumbling something he couldn't catch as Kaminari poked the babes cheek "he has the flu, in just giving him some fresh air" he explained and Kaminari stopped poking him when he heard flu. "Well, we better head back... Later" Hitoshi still didn't really know how to interact with his classmates "I'll join you!" izuku said almost abruptly as he bid his classmates goodbye.
"This might be a loaded question but... Is he related to... Overhaul?" Hitoshi halted for a second before glancing at his classmate "come with me"
The Yamazawa parents were surprised to see Izuku with Hitoshi, the teen handing the babe off to Hisashi who wasted no time giving the boy his medicine "Izuku... He has a question I don't know if I should answer" he said awkwardly and the teachers gave their full attention to the green haired teen "is (name) related to overhaul?" The room was silent after Izuku spoke those words "he is" Aizawa said softly after a few beats of silence "though you will now have to sign an NDA about this, for his protection"
"So he has his quirk?"
"Possibly, we won't know till the future"
"He's gonna be able to help a lot of people...!" Izuku said excitedly and the two adults looked pleasantly surprised at the reaction "he sure can problem child, he's no longer the son of that scum though... He is a Yamada-Aizawa now"
Izuku grinned at the babe "no wonder Eri was so protective of him"
The group continued talking and Izuku got to hold the little one who frankly wasn't having it as he turned to look at Aizawa tearily and reached out "papa..." He whined and the room looked in awe "that was his first word"
"And it was directed at you!" Yamada pouted playfully as Izuku handed the boy to his teacher "no more tears yeah?"
(Name) cuddled into his sweater and eventually Izuku left the family "papa..." He mumbled as he fell asleep, safe in his dad's arms.

It has been a few months since Aizawa was no longer a hero. After the fight with Shigaraki, the sleep deprived man had no choice but to sever his leg from the rest of his body in order to stop the decay from spreading. Although immobilizing him to an extent, Aizawa still had the perks of being a UA teacher to his students.
Instead of fighting crime late at night into the wee hours of the morning, Aizawa finds himself catching on things he hadn't been able to do or complete for some time. This included reading literature, taking care of his plants and gaining much more rest than he had before.
It felt refreshing, he felt renewed but a small flicker of want called out to him. Of course, Aizawa had no idea what it could possibly be. Aizawa felt hopeless, like nothing could fill this growing void that garbled inside of him. It wasn't until one day that Hisashi, Aizawa's closest friend figured out what has made him so drained.
It was a night out for both Aizawa and Yamada; a bit unfortunate that Midnight wasn't able to attend due to a last-minute mission that required her assistance. Instead of crying over one less friend, they both decided to head out to a bar nearby. As the two settled down and ordered drinks, Hisashi started off the conversation. Gleefully updating Aizawa on the outer world things since Aizawa chose to move away from the world heroics and politics.
“So what have you been up to since you have all this time in the world now?” Haisahi questined, his drink in one hand and his chin laid flat on his open palm facing toward Aizawa. The man in question huffed, downing the cup of whiskey he had ordered earlier. “Not much. Other than school and reading a few literature books here and there.” Hisashi raised an eyebrow which caused the raven haired man to sigh in annoyance. “No Hisashi, there’s no ‘special person’ in my life.” Shouta commented, earning a dramatic groan from the blond next time.
After Aizawa left the heroic life, Hisashi pestered the man to find something that would take up most of his time, rather than sleep, working out and reading books. More so, Hisashi hinted at him getting into a relationship, but Aizawa quickly shot down the idea; claiming that him getting into a relationship of some sorts wouldn’t help him in any form or fashion so Hisashi pestered on. Aizawa never really had any love life as others would call it; in all honesty, he wasn;t interested in such trivial things.
A friendship seemed as pleasant as a relationship so what’s the big idea about a relationship? Was it the status, the wants and needs of being held? Aizawa never focused too long on such things, they were always on the back burner for him.
“I know you said you didn’t want a relationship of some sorts but have you tired being a sugar daddy?” Hisashi asked, a malicious smile on his face when he saw the way Aizawa’s eyes widen before coughing up the drink he had just downed. The poor man barely caught his breath before sneering at Hisashi, who seemed to have a blast at his misfortune. “Why is that even an idea for me? “ Aizawa asked, not bothering to stress of hte reason Hisashi thoughts this was a good idea in the first place.
“Oh come on, I mean, it isn’t a relationship as you said you had no interest in but you know, you have allllll that money sitting peacefully in your bank account and with me knowing the type of person you are, you won’t spend a red cent unless it is absolutely necessary for you to. So why not give the sugar daddy thing a try. Just for one week. If you don’t like it then we can totally stop whenever you are ready.” Hisashi voiced, giving Aizawa the option to opt out if he isn’t feeling it.”
With many thoughts running through his head , Aizawa stared at the empty glass in his hand before quietly answering, “I’ll think about it.” Hisashi squealed in delight, causing some of the others in the bar to look at him for a brief moment before turning back to whatever they were doing.

The alarm from your phone went off around 6:30 a.m. causing you to groan. The yawn that fell from your lips was a testament to how tired you were from your last shift. You stretched your limbs before moving from your position in your bed. After fixing your bed, you made your way over to your closet, pulling out your uniform from inside. The cold shower washed off any remaining tiredness that was in your body, soothing your skin and pushing your mind into a work state.
After locking your door, you made your way out of the apartment and onto the street, quickly checking your watch to see that you only had half an hour to get to work. ‘Shit.’ you thought, you ran over down to the metro station which was only a couple minutes away from your home. Hopping on, you placed your headphones into your ears, shuffling your playlist as you were on your way to work.
Upon entering, you quickly went over to your locker, the small tabby cat sticker that you had placed on it when you first came to work there. After pushing your bag into your locker, you quickly grabbed your apron before heading over to the cashier to start your day. You worked in a pastry shop as a source of retaining money. You first started it off as a way to pay off your student debt, but after a while and a bit of saving, you were able to move out and move into your own space.
Now it wasn’t massive or anything, but it was good enough for you to reside in. As you greeted customers with a smile and cashed in their orders. When it was close to your lunch hour, you exchanged with your other co-worker. After taking off your apron , you clocked out before grabbing your phone and heading down to a cafe nearby. As silly as it sounds, there was a small cafe nearby that you normally venture to during your lunch break. It was a small cute cat cafe that you heard about from some people back at where you worked.
You were cashing out an order when you heard Maxi, a chubby girl, who;s entire aesthetic was surrounded by barbie and white lace was gushing to her girlfriend Ana, who had been the complete opposite to Maxi; arm tattoos, piercings almost everywhere and bubble-pink hair. Without noticing, you tuned into their conversation. “Come on Ana, it’s super duper cute and they have cute cats there too. And I know how much you adore cats. It’s called Cat’s Haven you know, the people that own it, bring in rescued cats and give them a place to live.”
You zoned out after hearing about the cats, focusing on the customer that was in front of you. When it was time for your lunch hour, you handed over before going over to Maxi who was rolling the dough. “Hey Maxi, I uh, overheard you this morning talking about the new cat cafe that opened recently, I didn’t mean to listen in on your conversation I just -”, you were interrupted when Maxi shook her head at you before answering. “Oh, no worries. I kind of figured you would tune in since I do recall you telling me that you love cats.” She gushed, handing over the rolled dough to her girlfriend before facing you.
“You remember where the old flower shop that Ms.Hatti once had?”, you nodded your head in agreement, remembering the times when you would go over there after you finished work and bought daisies for your mother on your way to home. A bittersweet memory when you think about it; mainly because your mother hadn’t been interested in much of anything pertaining to you during that time, even up until now. Ridding yourself of those negative emotions, you zoned in on what Maxi was saying, pushing away those negative thoughts that tried to force themselves inside the centre of your present state. After you were given directions, you thanked Maxi before heading out to the cafe.
Outside was a bit warmer than you had expected, so you pulled off your cardigan and wrapped it aroumd your waist, tying the sleeves to the front so that it wouldn’t fall. Once you got closer to the cafe, you could hear the slight buzz and chatter from those who were nearby. The feeling surrounding the cafe was that of newness and solitude.
As you entered the cafe, the bell jingled once you opened the door, alerting customers as well as workers. A comfortable buzz fell through the air as you entered, small meows and soft purrs filled the air . You looked around at the variety of cats that were all over the cafe. Small and big, different types varying from american bobtail to balinese.
Your heart warmed at the sight before spotting a lone maine coon resting near on a table near the back of the cafe; an empty booth where the lone cat rested. You were close to approaching when one of the waitresses stopped you. “ I know where you are going and i would advise you not to, “ she paused before continuing, “ that particular cat isn’t one we let customers interact with because of previous incidents. She’s known to be aggressive towards customers. Unfortunately, we can’t giver her back to the shelter so we just advise customers to steer clear from her.” You nodded in agreement, taking in the lady’s words but still hell bent on going after her. You thanked the waitress before walking over to the same table that you were warned of.
You slowed your actions, making sure not to startle the cat. Once you sat down, it seems that the cat that laid before you noticed your presence; so in return, she sat up and hissed in your direction, probably hoping that you would leave her alone, but you stayed. With a bright smile on your face, you pulled out a few treats from the little cat bag you were given when you entered.
Placing a small treat on the table for the orange cat, not bothering to annoy her. You stayed silent as the cat whose name you learned was Cinnamon, stared you down for while before slowly moving to the treat you had placed on the table. “Atta girl.” you whispered, silently placing down another treat for her to pick up. Many customers watched in awe and adoration of how you handled the cat.
As she ate, you watched in silence, barely resisting the urge to pet her. In a calm and cool environment, both you and the cat sat in silence, not bothering to intrude on one another’s presence but merely enjoying the low noise with hardly any interaction; other than you slowly feeding her treats, time and time again.
It was couple minutes before your lunch time was up so you decided to finish your treat before giving Cinnamon the rest of her treats before getting up to leave. Once you stood, you gathered all that had been yours and started towards the door.
Before you could leave, you were stopped by the same waitress who had warned you earlier. In awe and amazement at how easily you handled the fiesty cat, she gave you a warm smile, almost begging you to come back more oftern and tame the said cat.
“You must be some sort of cat whisperer,” she started, “I’ve never seen someone tame that cat as how you did, even more so stand aroundher for so long.” she mentioned, looking back at the said cat who rested quietly on the table, looking through the window at the birds outside. You giggled at the compliment before shaking your head. “I’m no cat whisperer, I’ve just had experience with cats like her before.” you smiled before making your way theough the door back to your job.
Now weeks after, going to the cat cafe had been a routine for you, once your lunch started, you quickly took off your apron and made a bee line straight to the cafe, only sitting wherever Cinnamon had been. You weren’t the only one who the cat had tolerated. Apparently, there was some other person who was able to do just as you did with the cat. Were you jealous, somewhat; since you did want that particular cat all to yourself but you didn’t catch a hissy fit over such things.
As you sat quietly in the booth, patiently waiting on your order, you watched as Cinnamon pushed her head against the palm of your hand, you chuckled before combing your hands through her fur, sighing at the vibrations her fluffy body made.
You really weren’t paying attention to your surroundings when it came to other people; you were a bit too engrossed by the fluffball in front of you. “So you’re the other ‘cat whisperer’ I’ve heard others talking about.”
