really obsessed with boy!dad Bruce Wayne and his one perfect princess of a daughter of whom he’s had minimal conflict with now suffering under the reign of feral granddaughters he has absolutely no control over. All of his boys end up having daughters. Dick has a daughter. Jason has two daughters. Tim and Kon get married and end up adopting a daughter. Duke inevitably ends up having a daughter. And Zaydee Bruce is, of course, always willing to babysit. He’ll never say no. But he is so unbelievably out of his element. What’s he supposed to do with them? Should he really be allowing them to go out dressed like that? Mar’i, dear god, please stop shooting star bolts inside the house, sweetie.
#Bruce has ordered every book there is on female child rearing#his google searches include things like ‘who is Tati Westbrook???’#there’s an entire storage closet in Wayne manor filled with tampons#he’s so lost#Bruce wayne#mar’i grayson#batfamily#dick grayson#Jason Todd#Tim Drake#Duke Thomas#Conner Kent#TimKon

Internet Presence in Fashion and Design (The James Charles Enigma)
Having a sustainable internet presence can be an incredibly useful tool in Fashion and Design. To achieve a notable online presence, you need to put a lot of work and effort into whatever it is that you are posting. What you put on the internet is there forever, and whenever you google yourself or whenever somebody else googles you, you don’t want there to be pictures of that one time in college where you had too many Tequila Shots.
Universities and Employers both use the internet as a way to get an idea of the character of the person they are interviewing. This is common now as we are in a digital age where it's possible to put anything on the internet.
Why does this affect the fashion world I hear you ask. Well, I don’t actually hear you as I’m behind a computer listening to “Dancing Queen” and writing this. An online platform can be a great way to get your work out and into the open. When people Google “Fashion Week” You’d want to be one of the top results on Google. This means there is extra publicity to your works and achievements and in Fashion. If people aren’t talking about you you’re doing something wrong. Being public with your work means there is a heightened chance of there being more public companies who will want to work with you. This increases job opportunities.
You may be asking, what relevance does this have to anything in the world? Well in this post I’d like to talk about Positive Online Presences in Fashion, and Negative Online Presence in Fashion. This will be focusing on influencers or fashion designers who used fashion to gain either a positive or negative reputation and presence online. They may have a previous presence but for the sake of this, we’ll be ignoring that to make this a truly fair assessment of character.
But before we do that, you cannot critique others without first critiquing yourself. So here is what happens when you look me up.
As you can see, apart from my facebook account and my Instagram account, not much comes up. This is something as the career advances I’m hoping to improve and work upon, so when Universities Google me they can find a flood of pictures of my work and other things I have achieved. In images there are some pictures of random people I am not, this will change with positive usage of the internet, hopefully at least.
Anyway-
Enough about me, let’s talk about some influencers. We’re going to start with the negative, and to do that we’re going to talk about the one, the only… James Charles.
James Charles positively broke into the fashion world, there is absolutely no denying that, he started out by being the first Male person to be on the cover of Covergirl magazine. (Pictured Below)
(courtesy of Covergirl Magazine)
In 2016 it was rare for any male to be featured for makeup or fashion on the cover of a fashion magazine, it was a good thing. And then it all went wrong.
Shortly after his appearance on Covergirl, it was revealed that Charles had made racist remarks in regards to the Ebola Crisis that had happened not that long before. He was also accused more recently of stealing designs from others and overall being sour on twitter. This is a perfect example of why having a negative internet presence can decrease your job opportunities as he was shunned by a vast majority of the online Beauty and Fashion community. He has been on a downward slope ever since, having had a recent scandal involving JeffreeStarCosmetics (Makeup and Fashion line business owner) and Tati Westbrooke. His main platform for content is YouTube, where before the scandal in question he had 16.5 Million Subscribers on YouTube. He was accused by, Tati Westbrooke, of manipulating Heterosexual boys into having relations with him because he was famous and rich. Tati announced this in a 40-minute long video where she broke down everything that happened. Westbrooke and Charles had a longstanding history of being friends and supporting each other. This video came so out of the blue that it shocked the entire online Fashion and Beauty world. The fallout from this was immense, he lost 3.5 million subscribers in 3 days. This is bigger than any subscriber loss in youtube history. This includes major events such as the Logan Paul scandal in 2018. James Charles now has a tarnished online reputation that he can never recover from. This is the perfect negative example of Online Presence in Fashion and Design.
But what about the positive? Well, we need to look no further than Nina West. Nina West is a Drag Queen who won Miss Congeniality on Season 11 of the hit TV show “RuPaul's Drag Race” This means she had a positive influence on the other contestants of the show. She has constantly preached for love and the idea of pride and acceptance. This is a contrast to James Charles because she actually pulls through and donates a lot to Charity. Now you may be asking “Phoenix, this is an essay on Fashion, why are you talking about a drag queen?” Well non-existent another half of this conversation, Nina West is known for designing her Drag Looks. She is mainly active on Twitter and Instagram where she posts progress pictures along with updates on things she is doing and positive messages. One of the main things West stands for is inclusivity and love in the LGBT and Drag community. This is especially important nowadays. She’s managed to stay out of the drama and stays on track with her message. She’s been on many tours and is advertised as a “Kindness Queen” This form of branding helps her positive image and ensures that she can obtain more job opportunities and access to higher levels of the press. This has a direct effect on her income and will, in turn, mean that her work is more well known and trusted.
This is incredibly important as people are more likely to hire someone they trust and have only heard positive things about.
To Conclude;
Having a positive online presence in the art and design world can dramatically increase your job opportunities and your reputation in general. Staying out of the drama and being a decent human being goes far and will help you in the long run and will also make you more popular so you are more likely to be at the top of google search results, this means more people will hear about you.
Thank you for listening, stay jazzy
Phoenix
