there is so much symbolism in the grimwalkers being craved out of wood, the same way Caleb craved out a wooden mask for Pip when he was younger. the fact that he craves Caleb standins out of it, that Caleb craved Pip into the person he would become eventually. the way he always tries again with the grimwalkers.
