hate to say it but matthew's bearable in this book
#legit like this is what he was meant to be!!#a flawed sometimes frustrating but nevertheless person you can sympathize with-even if you don't like him#the thing is that it feels off from his previous behavior#no one is ever acknowledging the pain HE inflicted on ALASTAIR#and I can't fucking get over that#his 180-or like 60 or smth-in relation to alastair half makes sense#and half feels like cc taking a shortcut to the resolution#and like!! cc didn't treat addiction awfully!! he actually got help for his mental health#I liked that part#I'll give credit where credit is due#I just wish he wasn't so bad in the beginning. maybe cc regrets what she wrote in the short stories#and just hoped we would forget about it#WE DIDN'T#anyway#chain of thorns spoilers#chot spoilers
