BH6-Sentence Sunday--11/14/2021

I’m back, baby. \.o./

So this week has actually been really good for my BH6 fanfics (updatesupdatesupdatesthey’recomingohgoshthisisn’tadrill), enough that one of them finally got its own dedicated document.  Basically this one came from the thought that the robot Obake kind of looked like the Terminator robot at the end of the movies and eventually got kicked in the rear by that comic that actually centers around Robake (the name of the author escapes me I am SORRY but they’re here on Tumblr).

Anywho:

What was the purpose of this machine?

Frown at that—he was pretty sure robots hadn’t advanced to the point of bots building bots of their own volition.  Someone had made this thing, for some reason. But then why make it not three laws compliant?  Why make it so there was no means of stopping it once activated?

And what was he supposed to do about it?

It always came circling back to that.  Doodle some ideas, constantly checking the drone’s progress, hide the window when he went down to the garage to machine up his idea.

There was a potential match pinging when he came back up.

“Wha—yes!” he cheered, darting over and clicking on the camera—needed visual to confirm—

Blink when it showed an alley, brick and pavement catawampus like it had got caught in some lines or….

Or like someone had caught it.

“Bold of you to assume I wouldn’t notice this thing following me,” the robot said, startling him.  The pavement rushed up to meet the camera—

Two crunches—the first was probably the drone meeting the street, the second was maybe the robot stomping it.

“Okay,” he breathed.  “Okay…okay, backup plan.”  Look where the drone had been, get the second one he had machined up and sent it there, grabbed his hopefully killer-robot-killer device, and run out the door, following the drone to Good Luck Alley.

He had a robot to knock offline.

So it’s more than six sentences so sue me.

Got five or six pages added to this one today but it’s nowhere near ready for publishing but for now enjoy a snippet. :3
