I have been inactive for quite a long time from and sadly have no recent notifications. 🙁

So, five things that make me happy (apart from the regular stuff like buying new clothes, footwear, salon pampering etc..) are -

Spending time with family especially going out with them on tours. We are leisure travellers.

Music. An inseparable part of my life. 

Sweets and Samosa. I love food, yeah ! 😋

Books and Stationery. I jump in joy when anyone gets me books or new stationery.

Keychains, Ear rings and Scarfs.

Well, I’ve been better but [Gloria Gaynor voice] I will survive. 😄How are youuu, love?

Zodiac sign:

My sun sign is pisces and my moon sign is taurus. I don’t have any idea about astrology or what my signs mean, however.

Hair color:

Naturally it’s a sort washed-out medium-ish brown, but I color it dark brown every so often.

Favorite month:

Octooooober! I love everything about it; thunderstorms, morning walks where the temperatures are so low that it hurts when you inhale too sharply while it’s perfectly sunny and warm just a couple of hours later, knitwear and boots, leaves turning different shades of red and orange and how they crunch under your feet when you step on them, anything pumpkin spice (gotta live up to the white girl stereotype), that it gets dark earlier because that means candles and fairy lights and all things cozy. 

October, to me, feels like when you finally get the change to slow down a bit and take a deep breath you’ve been holding for a bit too long, your shoulders drop and relax, and for that second there’s nothing but calm. 

Chocolate:

I… don’t really like chocolate. That’s the moment where everyone I say that to usually goes, “What?!!?!?!” I’ll eat it if I’m craving something sweet and there’s absolutely nothing else within reach, but I’m more a cookie/pastry/cake kind of person. If I had to pick, though, I’d go for white chocolate!

Agreed. Naagin 3 is farrrrr better than the chidiya ghar that was Naagin 2 (what I saw of it anyways). 

But, I think nothing can replicate the charm of Naagin 1 for me, Rivanya’s love story was pretty well narrated, simple and sweet. Rithik is one of my fav MLs on ITV. 

Things I like about Naagin 3, whatever I’ve seen of it:

1. Surbhi Jyoti and Anita H. Not just because they are gorgeous, but they are good actors as well. 

Mouni and Adaa were slightly raw, immature (?) with their performance, which was the demand of the role since Shivanya and Shesha were cousins looking for revenge. 

Surbhi and Anita, meanwhile, play more mature naagins as Bela and Vish. Bela is the queen/Naagrani and Vish is her best friend/confidant/partner-in-crime/commander, if you like. The characters require more maturity, and I like how Surbhi and Anita portray them on screen. 

I especially like Anita’s sass at the men, its one of the most attractive aspects of the show, specially her attitude towards Yuvi in the beginning. 

2. Bela’s character is a cut above other naagins, because not only is she here for revenge, she is entrusted with looking after the naagmani (old story) and the naag population. Everyone bows down to her. I like how she’s got this whole ‘superhero’ vibe to her, defeating newer enemies popping out of nowhere. 

Its not just about revenge anymore, but also duties of being a princess, heir to the Naag kingdom, and I really appreciate how Surbhi carries herself as the Naarani. 

Gone are the days of Shivanya’s impassioned hunger for vengeance against her mother’s murderers. Bela is here not just for revenge, but to punish, to put people in line, to protect her throne, and there is a more controlled rage, and a more dignified manner in which Surbhi carries herself as Naagrani. 

3. An unproblematic ML. I think Pearl needs to improve his acting skills, but Mahir as a character is really nice to watch. He is soft, supportive, but also sensible (most of the times), and though a little desperate lol, I like him.

4. Surbhi and Pearl’s chemistry is cute. I won’t say its as great as say Surbhi’s chemistry with KSG, KVB or Shoib, but its interesting enough to watch. 

5. I love, love, love the costumes/sarees that the cast wears, specially Bela and Vish. 

There is this general air of lavishness to an Ekta set, which I like. Balaji has the money and it likes to spend it, and the audience loves to watch. So, thats a win-win. 

Things I don’t like:

1. The pace of the story. It seems to drag at some points, and circle around the same thing so many times...that ugh, that annoys me. 

2. The unnecessary characters who are introduced for filler weeks. I hated that chudail and that bagpiper man (whatever their names were). Ugh, truly hated them, they were so not needed. 

3. Innumerable plug-ins. There was this chain of movie promotions: Veere di Wedding, Laila Majnu, Stree, etc. So unnecessary and annoying. 

4. The lack of gore. I feel the bite is missing. Like Surbhi and Anita are carrying the burden of the naagin killings on their shoulders, the action director/writer of those scenes is not doing his/her job properly. 

I remember how Shivanya and Shesha killed Suri in the temple. I think that was my most favorite kill on Naagin ever. The drama level of that kill, and the execution, nothing comes close to that!! 

I felt none of the succeeding seasons (2 or 3) could replicate the dramatic and slick execution of action/killing scenes, although season 3 is much better. Season 2 was a failure on all accounts. 

Something about the killings in this season, like all the hard work is left to the actors, the lighting is poor and really dark, the sequence of how it plays out is not well thought out, the drama quotient is low, among other things. 

So, yeah this is about it, I think. I still have to catch up on the latest epis, so maybe my opinion might change 🤷‍♀️

Honestly I feel like I’ve been watching 2 different shows. This shit makes no sense😂 They may as well have pulled an Ishqbaaaz and done a redux LOL at least I would have less problems with it. Legit the only thing getting me through is the perfect bbys that are Shrenu and Zain. Maaaan they got done so dirty.

DAFUQ!!! Why am I seeing this post so late???? Kill me! Siyasat is on of my favorite historical fiction shows, it gives me the vibe of the late 80's DD shows where the research team knew what they were doing, in portraying the historical characters. Girls @maatikikhushboo​ @ratnas-musings we have to start discussing EPIC shows here, that channel was amazing, and I need ppl to discuss the real gems in ITV in the last 5 years!!!

EPIC is my all time favourite channel after DD. DD, DD News, EPIC and Sony are the only channels that we see on Television with family from the Hindi GEC lot. Zindagi was a nice channel, but you know after the Uri, it was made digital and pulled off. All of the programs on EPIC are so lovely. I was re-watching Daanav Hunters the other day. Everything is so classy about EPIC. 

We loved Ekaant and it came with S2 and the best part is the show’s script writer and host Akul Tripathi has been hired as the channel’s content head. And I am glad that he is doing a phenomenal job. Especially the Defence Programs and EPIC Specials are just worth it. I got to know that he was a part of KBC’s research team before. So, the stuff is definitely going to be of great quality. Even the comedy series, Yam Kisi Se Kam Nahi was too good, better than SAB channel’s shows. 

P.S : A rerun of Circus (feat SRK) on DD was being aired on Sundays 10pm

Okay, this is going to be really difficult for a person like me, because I have been exposed to eclectic music since childhood and choosing a favourite is equal to impossible. Being a singer, I shouldn’t be using the word eclectic here because my domain doesn’t cover Western Music. I don’t sing or listen to them, and I don’t know any single western song! Unbelievable? Yeah girl, there are people like me. When my peers discuss about them, I am like MEH coz I don’t understand them and sab sar ke upar se bouncer ho jaate hain. But, it covers various languages and forms of music we have in our country, (films, semi-classical, classical, folk, ghazal, sufi, devotional…) so that should be okay? 

So I am being impulsive here. Like at the moment, these songs come to my mind.

Ghost- Favorite song?

Nuvvena Na Nuvvena - (Anand,Telugu 2004)  

This song’s composition is so dear to my heart. It feels fresh every time I listen to it. A simple song, which is devoid of all these software mixing kinda things.

Tu Jaa Raha Hai - (Mahek, Pankaj Udhas)

This song is so soothing. And the lyrics are just so real. Songs like this have a lot of nostalgia. We still have those tape recorder cassettes with us.

Hey, I guess you are the same anon who has copy pasted this ask to all of @hirakdesherrani @nawaazishein @mukhtaleef @tellywoodtrash and me. LOL

I was pretty much part of it. I used to post a lot, write and read fan fictions. People (read teenagers) have become too supercilious. They impolitely bash actors, forgetting the fact that actors and characters are two different persons. It’s just a noxious place now and I have no place for such things in my life.

Hey this is cuckoldedbyddlj right? You changed your blog username? Anyways, seeing the recent uproar in the fandom, I was thinking that a lot of people like Omkara and Gauri as individuals but they don't like/ship Rikara. I don't understand. Do you?

I understand because I’m one of them xD.

First things first, yes, aap sahi pate pe aaye ho. My earlier username was @cuckoldedbyddlj, which I’ve now changed to @hirakdesherrani.

So, yes, coming back to your question. Even I’m one of those who likes Om and Gauri as individuals more than the couple. Okay no, its like this. I like the 2016-Omkara and love the 2017/DBO-Gauri. And ideally, I wanted the love story between these two characters, but thanks to GulNeet these two never met. 

When their romance actually kick-started in merged IB, Gauri was watered down a lot, except for the Dangal and Bareilly track 3. Omkara was a weird hybrid of his Pre-DBO and DBO personalities. None of them were the characters I originally appreciated. 

And I know that there are quite a few people like me. So, that could be one of the reasons. 

But you mentioned the fandom…

As far as I know, when the Rikara fandom existed, it was 60% Om fans, 30% Gauri fans and 10% Rikara fans. Most of us were either Om or Gauri fans, and shipped Rikara because, chaaho ya chaaho, fans have to be invested in the romance of their fav characters. Majboori hai. 

As for Shivika fandom, 99% of them hate Gauri/Shrenu and want her cancelled from the show. The 1% which likes her, only likes her as Annika’s younger sister, when she ships Shivika or stands up for her sister. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge AniRi shipper too. But I didn’t like it last season, where it was all about Gauri shipping Shivika. I like it this season, when AniRi bond is established like any normal sister bond should be. 

But to be objective. Omkara and Gauri had their individual journeys, irrespective of each other. Omkara was properly established as a character during 6 months of IB in 2016, exclusive of any romantic pairing. Gauri, similarly had her character development in 5 months of DBO, yes, Omkara did exist but his character was there only for convenience to Gauri’s narrative. DBO was Gauri’s show. 

The audience invested in them first as individuals, and then in their romance. The romance started too late for anyone’s liking and by that time everyone lost interest in it. 

For example, if today we separate Shivaay from the Obros and Annika, then there is nothing to his character. Rather he will only be a arrogant, elitist jerk. 

But Omkara? He has his own journey, his struggle with multiple betrayals, with the guilt of the accident, his parents marriage, with drugs. Gauri? Her struggle with Kali Thakur and subsequently, defeating him. Omkara and Gauri are heroes in their own right. They don’t need each other, or complete each other, like Shivika do. So, the traditional kind of shipping which we see elsewhere, doesn’t apply to Rikara. 

Another reason could be that fans who watch IB as a whole have seen Shivaay’s journey of redemption, and compared to that Omkara did nothing. So, they think Rikara doesn’t suit or Om doesn’t deserve Gauri. 

These could be some of the reasons. But to be honest, I think most of them are just Shivika fans. And I find it reallyyyyy hypocritical of them to excuse Shivaay’s assholery but punish Omkara for the same. 

Like I said, I find many faults in Omkara, but I find greater faults in Shivaay (and Rudra). Hence, technically, I don’t ship any of the couples in the show. All are unhealthy. But because I love Gauri, I was invested in her romance. So meh!
