Reading the current Miles Morales series is fun, and it has its good moments, but it's really weird to get the impression that Ziglar has a better grasp on Mac Gargan of all characters than he does the star of his book... 😅

Like, don't get me wrong, I don't feel it's a terrible book by any stretch of the word. In fact I'd say it's pretty delightful. Rabble was a fun villain and even Carnage Reigns was better than it had any right to be. And I appreciate Kamala being there too, and I've really come to love Starling.

But, as much as I complain about Bendis-isms... I do wish Miles had retained his confidence that he'd been essentially forced to gain over the course of his earlier years. He's obviously still very capable as a hero, but his deference to some more veteran heroes strikes me as a little weird? Like, come on, this is the same teenager who said "fuck the Avengers", burned his ID card, and helped start a team with other like minded young heroes.

But also I just think it would be funny for Miles to deck Mac with a venom-blast-powered fist next time Scorpion calls him "kid".
