my coding buddy is a cute boy in china who speaks poor english and i am but a girl who speaks poor chinese and all our interactions are spent trying to communicate highly technical concepts using 2nd grader vocabulary

#me: ur gonna have to get on board with chinglish real quick #him clearly never having fathomed such a concept as speaking a garbled mess of chinese and english #im realizing this pace of language switching is probably a developed skill #where to me its like absolutely natural to just break out into english when i dont know the word #also i feel like to anyone watching i come across as like #demeaning bc of the way i start speaking in broken english #but that i also feel like in a gathered skill from talking with my parents #where its like i will speak in wrong grammar because the direct word to word translation to chinese will make sense
