#y am i posting this? bc its 2am and its 80+ degrees outside and probably around that temp in my apartment as well#im a healthy young person so im fine but like idk living thru this heat wave is genuinely quite scary#like in an existential way. like in a this does not bode well for our immediate future way#like i did not grow up in a place whwre the temp is 100+ consistantly but like its so hot#like the sun has like a physical weight even with low humidity. its oppressively hot#and i only live in an area where its 102-107F or 38.9C-41.7C#just. if ur in the southwest stay safe. if ur outside the southwest or another place currently experiencing a heat wave: its pretty awful#real life#heat wave#and id anyone tries to come at me on the science. i literally have 2 advanced degrees in environmental science. this is just one year but#its notable that its happening especially with record highs popping up across the globe. not just in the summer. it does not bode well

Hey, I just learned that because I have asthma, my pulmonologist can prescribe a window a/c unit. Fellow Americans with asthma do with this information what you will.

Humidity at 85% should be illegal

It's apparently going to be 45 degrees tomorrow (that's 113f) and humid, with a thunderstorm 😖😬😰 and it's only the start of summer!
Praying that it doesn't get that hot, we only have an evap aircon and it won't work in humidity 😑

waking up early to open all the windows and doors and get the last of the morning chill inside before it starts to heat up!
today is a practice run for the heatwave we're about to get :')
#we have bigger day/night temp swings here than i'm used to which is great (tonight's low is 17c and tomorrow's high is 37c)#i'm considering tinfoiling a couple windows that get a lot of sun but don't have shades or blinds#i do have an air conditioner for the first time in my adult life but it's one room & i don't want the rest of the house to be a furnace#one of my big concerns now is humidity in the basement 😭

I am the PERFECT temp rn im so happy
#i took a cold shower and have my ac on full blast and my fan on level 12 so my core temp is perf#i love being cold!!#anti hot#my manager took me out of the air conditioned office i was in and put me out in the garden center today#:(#heat index of like 105 and i saw 110 at one point#ngl heat doesnt even bother me as much anymore like i would have thought it was high 80s lmao#idk if thats good or bad#but yeah basically i wanna be cold af after that#oh add 67% humidity on top of that temp
