Bridgeport, Connecticut in the summer time was the favorite spot for most residents of the state. It was a costal town with plenty of beaches and carnivals and fairs almost every single week.
Seventeen year old Ed Warren was born and raised in Bridgeport by his mother Sarah. His father drank himself to death about four years previous but no one would catch Ed or his mother shedding any tears over him. He was an abusive asshole who they were glad to be rid of.
But that also meant that since the age of thirteen, Ed had been working odd jobs here and there, basically anywhere that would pay a kid under the table until he turned seventeen. Once he was old enough, he went to work where most of the men in the town went to work who weren’t high class. The lumber yard. And to help out even more, he fixed cars at the local garage. He wanted to help his mother as much as he could because she had lived for fifteen years with a monster who made her miserable. She didn’t deserve to have to work a dozen jobs to keep them afloat. He wasn’t that great at the whole education thing anyway. Not to say he wasn’t smart because he was. Very street smart and very smart with building and fixing things and good with his hands but he was never interested in books and studying to go to college so he focused on what he was good at. He was a working man at seventeen.
The whistle that signaled the end of the day blew loudly around the lumber yard at exactly five o’clock on the first official Friday of summer and Ed happily punched his time card out and rushed out of the building with the rest of the other men, most younger boys like him, to enjoy the weekend with his best friend, Johnny Spera. He and Johnny had so much in common it was impossible for them not to be practically brothers. Neither had a father, both had to work to support their families, and they both lived through hell at only seventeen.
“Alright, where to first?” Johnny asked Ed when they got out into the bright summer sun.
Ed chuckled as he wiped sweat off his face and onto his shirt. “Um, I think a shower is in order first and then we can head over to the carnival if you want? Eat there, waste our hard earned cash on games and rides, and throw up all the junk food we eat?”
Johnny laughed and nodded his head, smacking Ed’s arm. “Sounds like we’re starting summer off right. I’ll see you at the gates in an hour?”
“I’ll be there,” Ed said with a smile before they turned in opposite directions to go to their respective houses.

Heyy I thought of this and its kinda weirdly specific so sorry if its weird
a fluff where reader (fem) had an 'almond mom' growing up and bill finds out she never tried any fast food and fizzy drinks so he takes her to a Mcdonalds drive through and she tries everything and really likes it and idk what else but something along these lines?
ily btw💗
ᡣ𐭩 macky’s feast endeavours
you’ve never been one to indulge into the many delicacies of food. it was always kept pretty simple, pretty plain, and most importantly; pretty small. your mom was an extreme one who’d instil the emphasis of portion control and nutritional value, none of that fast food junk. oh god no.
now it wasn’t like you totally had the worst relationship with food. you just ate it to, eat it. simply curve the natural instincts of hunger and then go on with your day.
bill had no knowledge of it, but he did have some suspicions. whenever you guys were to go out to eat and grab food with either the band or just the two of you, you never ordered anything too exquisite, too loaded. small portions, barely any flavours, and it mostly consisted of greens. at this point, he was convinced that you were some rabbit.
so to his obvious surprise, when he asked you, “have you ever had a mcdouble, like, ever in your life?” and you shook your head no, his chin for real dropped to the ground. you had to explain to him that because of your upbringings, you were never really privileged with the so-called delicacies of sugary sweets and treats of fizzy sodas and a simple cheeseburger.
“oh no.. oh nonono i gotta take you right now—it’s the best thing ever!!” he exclaims while dragging you on your feet, beelining for the car. by the way, it’s 2am
you’ve never seen him so excited before, the whole car ride and i swear i mean the WHOLE car ride, bill was nonstop ranting about the menu and the millions of things that you two can try together. you can’t help but smile, he’s so cute. the pitch of his voice gets all high and squeaky. and he speaks fast, almost too fast that you as him to slow down, to which he finds himself becoming bashful over how passionate he is about mcdonalds.
pulling into the drive-thru, you stare at the enlarged kiosk of the mcdonalds menu, “do you know what you want to order? did i explain everything? oh, that’s what you want? wait—no, that one? fuck it i’ll just get everything!!”
you were indecisive, overwhelmed with the many varieties of what could be a burger, what drink to get, a soda or a milkshake? ooooh what about a side? chicken nuggets or fries?
bill on the other hand, knew exactly what to order. for him, a mcdonalds connoisseur, he gets a big mac, specifically six chicken nuggets, and a vanilla milkshake. classic, you thought to yourself. while passing through the first window to pay, you take out cash to give to bill for your portion of the food, he immediately holds his hand over yours, squeezing it.
“y/n, my treat. i want your first time to be memorable. ‘m the one who took you out, so let me pay, please? also, so you’re definitely the only person i’d do this for, don’t tell tom, okay?” you couldn’t fight back since he asked so politely. and knowing bill, he’d never make you pay. later, you’ll think of a way to repay him the favour.
˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚
sitting on the curb of the parking lot, the two of you sat beside one another as bill began to pull out the food items one-by-one from their signature paper bag. the scent of the food wafts as he passes you a cheeseburger, you’re already salivating at the mouth, impatient to try it.
“smells good right? enjoy!” you open the carton to reveal a small burger, the bun almost perfect. bill places a beverage to the side of you, “cola! a classic, thought you’d like it for sure,” “thank you billy.. i really appreciate you doin’ this f’me.”
he shakes his head but smiles, “how could i not?? my best friend deserves this! no hate to your mom, but she was definitely punishing you by hiding this.. y’kno, i get sooo much mcdonalds, like, everyday, even more than that fatty tom! my grandma calls me macky ☺️,” he nods his head in approval to that nickname, how adorable. you think it fits him quite well.
awaiting, bill watches as you begin to take a bite of the burger. flavour runs over your tongue as you’ve felt like you just consumed ambrosia. your tastebuds are dancing, very joyous indeed. your eyes widen and you physically gasp with food in your mouth as you look at bill. there’s a glint in your eyes but his shines brighter to see such a positive reaction out of you.
it makes him happy to know that he could be there to see you enjoy what he loves. you end up taking more consecutive bites out of the burger until it was completely gone. scarfing it down, you chew, no words shared between the two of you as you both muck on what’s now become one of your favourite foods.
who knows? maybe this could become a daily thing, pray for your wallets, “oh my god.. this is so fucking good!?” “i know right??—oh wait, there’s a little sumn’ on your face..”
bill reaches out his hand to swipe away at the sauce that’s stuck on the corner of your mouth. seems as though you lost control of how messily you were eating that there was food on your face.
his touch was soft, gentle. as he uses his thumb to clean you off, he brings it into his mouth to lick off the remains as if it were nothing. you stare at him in shock, mouth, again, full of food as you were stunned and in no way capable of speaking. that was so, action forward. a heat transforms on your face as bill stares at you, innocently confused.
“what?” he asks, eyebrows a little furrowed as you lack a response. then, the realization hit him. what he did, was in fact, veryyyy intimate. hiding his face in his hands, he feels like he wants to scream. you notice his ears burning a vibrant pink, as he taps his feet in embarrassment.
he peeks at you through his fingers, “sorry! it was just instinct, i-i didn’t mean to, uh, do that..” he struggles to hold eye contact with you, putting a chicken nugget in his mouth.
giggling at him, you take a sip from your large coca cola, smiling with the straw between your teeth. putting the cup down on the ground, you lean in to place a small kiss on bill’s cheek “it’s okay, thank you billy, really, the food was amazing,” waiting for his reaction, he sits there still as a statue, until immediately slapping a hand onto the cheek you kissed him.
“you’re blushing, bill,”
“shut up before i eat all your food.”
nomnomnom , good eats .. ily 2 anon
keis makes an appearance once more !! how many more until she quits :p jk i’m just overly consumed by work

There's lots of perks to working at the ol' Pick-and-Pull, my favourite self-service junkyard of all. They won't let me get a job there, partially because I'm technically "legally barred from entry by release conditions." And also because my attorney has worked out a long-term disability deal that will evaporate if anyone sees me thinking about employment anywhere other than Long John Silver's, but that's neither here nor there. It's a pity, too, because the benefits afforded to the junkyard elite are choice.
For starters, you get your pick of the junk left inside cars when they're scrapped. Pocket change? Trendy travel mugs? Radar detectors? Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, friend. For whatever reason, cash-strapped folks desperately attempting to unload their last semi-durable asset often leave the detritus of their life within the confines of the vehicle, and all that cool stuff can be yours. Of course, you also get things like "hissing, vicious rodents" and the occasional biohazard, but that only serves to make the highs that much sweeter.
Not convinced? You looked like you drove a hard bargain when you walked in here. I respect that. Most folks hear "free Garfield window clings" and they're totally sold, but not you. Rare these days to have such a killer in my office for a negotiation such as this. Okay, how's this sound? You get to get on a first name basis with Raul, the taco truck operator.
Yes, I know that Marcel is his real name, but the public health nurse said that we shouldn't deliberately try to tell him. It will only force him further into his shell. Speaking of shells, he makes some bomb-ass barbacoa. Perhaps you've tried it? It's the perfect thing after a day of wrenching, or, in the case of the proud employees of the Pickin' and Pullin' Patrol, a day of data entry and trying to fend off douchebags pretending that a turbocharger ($50) is actually an alternator ($35.) And Marce- Raul - will cut you a good deal on whatever fell into the fryer. You'll take home more cash, and a full belly.
All this is not to mention the health benefit of working in the fresh outdoors, whenever you want. Sure, those outdoors are full of atmospheric hydrocarbons and whatever aerosolized microplastics are coming off the seat grinder, but office workers would give anything to get a chance at a crisp December morning like you'll be enjoying while desperately tourniquetting a suburban father-of-three who made a very bad choice about which muffler to cut.
Come on down to the Pick 'N' Pull employment office, and don't tell them I sent you. Long John Silver's has spies everywhere. A simple wink, nudge, and yawn-point to me wandering the yard will be enough to get my referral bonus.

Disaster Preparedness...
This is going to be a little bit of a different post. Not everyone likes being told what to pack or wants checklists, so I want to help you think of what you will need if something happens in your area
So a disaster has hit in your area. There are fires, there's flooding, debris is everywhere, and help is always slow to come.
There's also no cell communications, no power, no internet, gas lines and water lines are shut down too.
It's 110 degrees during the day, and 40 degrees at night with high wind.
So what do you do? What do you need?
Communication
When a disaster hits, how are you going to communicate with your family members who may or may not be nearby?
How are you going to tell people in other cities / states / countries that you are ok or you need help?
How are you going to stay informed about what is going on?
Do you have little handheld radios, or noaa radio with solar panel? Do you have a ham radio?
Food
Everything in your fridge/freezer is junk unless you have a generator, and even then, do you have enough energy to last a week or 2?
What are you going to eat? How are you going to prepare it and cook it? What about plates, utensils, and napkins that you can dispose of since you can't wash anything?
You're going through a traumatic event... you will either stress eat, or shut down. Prepare for that.
Water
That's great that you have bottled water... but do you have enough?? Do you have enough for basic sanitation? Do you have a way of carrying it or dispensing and rationing it? Do you have a bunch of small bottles that are a bitch to move from a to b or do you have heavy water jugs that you can't move and it's hard to dispense from? Do you have a way to filter water as well?
Stay cool
It's hot... it's blistering hot... it's humid... being indoors or outdoors is dangerous without a/c which you don't have... so what do you do? Do you have fans or chemical ice packs or cooling towels? Do you have a way to erect some type of shade/shelter if you're stuck outdoors?
How do you stay cool, how do you keep your pets cool?
Stay warm
It's cold, it's insanely cold, and the wind is even worse... so what do you do? How do you stay warm and block out the wind? Do you have chemical hand warmers, warm clothes, blankets? Do you have a way to be warm away from your shelter where you'll be going to the bathroom?
Get out of your damaged house/building
Shit just happened and your house/building isn't safe. Do you have all of your important stuff handy? Papers, photos, meds?
Doors are jammed and blocked... do you have the tools to open them? Do you have the ability to use another exit point like a window?
Do you have a way of writing/marking on the door that all of you are out safely so Search and Rescue knows?
Shelter
Inside of your home or outside of your home... do you have the ability to build a shelter that provides privacy and safety from the elements?
Maybe a tent, or a canopy, or some tarps? Maybe a portable bucket for a quick makeshift toilet?
Where are you going to sit, eat, sleep, piss and shit when it's insanely hot out and incredibly cold too? Can you carry this stuff far if you need to? Floods breed mosquitos and disease like cholera... you might have to leave and go far to be safe, even if your home is fine.
Do you have camping beds? Chairs? Tables? Lights? Bug sprays?
What do you need to be comfortable ... think of it like camping.
Travel
Do you have a paper map of your area and areas you might have to evacuate to? Cell towers are down, there is no internet, and you might be saving your cell battery for important communication.
Do you have good shoes/boots to walk through the broken glass and debris and everything else? Are they waterproof because any standing water is toxic after a disaster?
Do you have enough gas in the car if the roads are open?
Do you have cash on hand to pay for gas and other stuff since credit cards won't be usable?
First Aid & more
Do you have a first aid kit in the car and in your home? If someone cuts their hand on broken glass, can you fix that? If someone broke their leg or arm, can you take care of that? From cuts to scrapes to burns to splinters and more.... do you have what it takes to patch things up since help isn't available?
What about bigger issues - What if power lines fell and sparked a small tree fire that can spread to your home, but the water is shut off, do you have extinguishers and shovels or fire blankets? Do you have hard hats and safety glasses? What about N95 masks? Good gloves?
Do you know how to turn off the water, power, and gas to your building and neighbors if you need to? Do you have the right tools?
Do you have everyone's meds and enough to go a couple of weeks?
What if you can't get home, do you have it in your car too?
Get help
If you do need more help, how are you going to do it?
You see it all the time, someone signals a passing helicopter with a signal mirror, or a bright orange signal panel, or writes on their roof in paint or chalk.
Do you have a personal audible alarm that will alert rescuers to where you are? Or a loud whistle?
Find each other
It's 10am on a weekday... and a sudden tornado hits, or an earthquake, or a tsunami, or a volcano... something totally unpredictable.
You are at work/school, someone else is at there spot, no one is near each other... how do you get together? Do you have preset meeting points? Do you have preset contact points?
Remember - local communications are sometimes down, but long distant lines are often free! I like the idea of picking someone out of state where everyone checks in and that person can pass along the info.
Sanitation
This is one people often don't think about but do you have a shovel to bury feces and stuff? Do you have wet wipes and hand sanitizer to keep clean? Do you have garbage bags and zip ties for bloody bandages, poop, and food waste?
Do you have brooms and things to push away rotting vegetation that rats love to nest in? What about just to clean up broken glass and other crap so you can shelter safely? Do you have what ever you need to get rid of mud and dirt?
Sanity
Remember... this is a traumatic event... do you have what you need to keep yourself occupied without electricity? Do you have books to read, do you have toys to play with, do you have a guitar to just mess around with?
There's nothing to do, no where to go, you're STUCK.... you're stress eating through your supplies like crazy... what can you do to stay busy, relaxed, and safe?
----------------------
These are all things to think about because no two people need the same stuff or can use the same stuff.
Make your plans with the thought that you might not be home when it happens, you might not be able to ever GO home... home might be gone!
Make your plans with the thought that you need to reunite with your loved ones.
Make your plans with the thought that you might need to leave your home and travel quite a bit away.
Make your plans with the thought you might be stuck at home, with all of your windows broken and no gas, water, or power.
Think about what YOU need. And then make it happen.

getting used to the taste
notes: fem reader (codename Gin) x whiskey, some fluff, some undercover smooching
tagging my love @spacecowboyhotch
You’ve never liked whiskey.
More of a vodka person yourself, the dark liquor was never one of your favorites.
Too strong, too smokey; the tang of the malt that made your nose scrunch as you downed back a shot.
Your distaste for whiskey extended to Jack Daniels as well.
“I’m telling ya, it’s because you’ve never had the real stuff.”
You and Whiskey have had this conversation before. Too many times in fact,as you nurse the drink in front of you at the bar. “And what’s the ‘real stuff’?”
He waves a hand dismissively at the wall of liquor behind the bartender, outwardly scoffing at the sight of it.
“None of this junk. The top shelf here aint’ even a good top shelf.”
You can’t help but chuckle at that, eye’s doing a quick scan of the bar and its patrons. “Don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but not much here is ‘top shelf’.”
Not exactly a dive bar but certainly nothing high end, you’re happy Whiskey left his hat in the Bronco outside, lest he stick out like a sore thumb. Your jeans and blouse helped you fade into the background, but Whiskey’s usual attire was a little formal for the middle of nowhere. He’d ditched his elbow patched blazer and was left in his white button down, sleeves rolled up to the elbows.
Waiting for informants was never your favorite assignment. Sometimes they’d flake, sometimes they’d try to grease you for more cash than promised. Not a difficult mission, but frightfully boring. It’d been almost two hours now of sitting with Whiskey and making polite conversation while you waited for your man, who was looking more and more like a flake with every passing moment.
Whiskey ignores your comment on the quality of the bar, tipping back his glass and finishing the rest of his drink.
“One day you’ll let me take you out to a place that makes a good drink, and you’ll finally get what I mean.” You roll your eyes at that statement, and Whiskey cuts you off before you can open your mouth. “Not on a date Gin, christ on a cracker.”
Whiskey, just like his namesake, came on a little strong. Not everyone’s taste. A flirt from the moment you meant, you’d laid it on him early on in your working relationship that you did not date people you worked with. He’d made a conscious effort to be your friend, he really did,but most entendres and one liners dropped out of his mouth on pure instinct.
“People can have drinks together as friends. Just like we’re doin’ right now.” You nod in agreement, pleased with your partner's statement. “Even though I know ya find me devilishly handsome-”
You snort, and when you glance at Whiskey, you find a smirk on his face, seemingly holding back his own chuckle.
And yes, of course you found him handsome, you had eyes. But the day you found yourself willingly falling into Jack Daniels arms, you’d be asking Ginger for a head check.
You take one long final sip through your straw, the ice clinking against the bottom of the glass. You sigh and glance at your watch.
“I don’t think this guy is coming.”
“I find myself agreeing with ya darlin.”
Whiskey reaches into his back pocket and grabs his wallet, putting some bills on the bar before getting down from his stool.
You follow him outside, and the warm spring day has made way for a cool night, the setting sun bringing in a gentle breeze. Whiskey pulls out a pack of cigarettes from his other pocket, holding it out to you in offering. “We can wait a few more minutes, see if this guy swings by.”
“Fine by me,” you reply, grabbing a cigarette and tucking it between your fingers. Whiskey provides the lighter, and he cups his hand around yours as he attempts to get it lit, battling with the wind that passes through his fingers.
You both lean against the wall of the building, watching as cars pass by on the road in front, and you take a long drag, internally kicking yourself for this habit that you never let die. But hey, maybe you deserve a smoke once in a blue moon.
The silence is companionable, and you’re enjoying watching the last rays of sunshine color the grass gold when you both hear the raising of voices. You turn to your partner, and he nods in silent agreement as you drop your cigarette and stamp it out under your boot.
You sneak over to the corner of the building, a dumpster blocking you from view as you listen to the bickering male voices.
“-not my fault-”
“Not your fault? Too damn stupid to know how to double cross somebody-”
“-alright you two cut it ou-”
You rise up slowly from where you’re crouched, just enough to peek over the dumpster and your blood runs hot at the sight.
Son of a bitch. There he is. Your informant, wearing exactly what he said he would be. Except he is certainly not alone.
He’s surrounded by four other men, two who you recognize right away due to their faces being on the wall of Wanted men at Statesman HQ. They were who you were planning on getting info on tonight, but instead here they are, no more than six feet away from you. Shit. Fuck shit.
“No, I don’t know what they look like,” your informant hisses out, breaking you from your own thoughts. “They’re supposed to recognize me, that’s how I’m supposed to meet them.”
“Well, do you think you can lead them out here or not?”
You know that you and Whiskey could take all of them down. Hell, you could do it on your own if you really needed to, probably with a hand behind your back. Except that wasn’t the plan, and kicking the snot out of these mid level criminals wouldn’t get you any closer to their boss, which was the ultimate goal.
You’re lowering yourself back behind the dumpster, set on turning around as quiet as possible and making your way back to Whiskey when you accidentally bump your elbow against the side of the dumpster's metal exterior.
Unfortunately for you, trash must’ve gone out the day before, because the emptiness of the dumpster causes the clang of your bone against the metal to ring loud in the air.
“What was that?”
Shit.
You move back around the corner, walking as fast as you can without making too much noise, and Whiskey looks at you expectantly as he sees you try not to run.
“What’d ya see-”
“Shut up, follow me.” You grab him by the wrist, and he drops his cigarette as you pull him away from the wall.
There’s visible confusion on his face as you drag him back towards where you just came from, and you can only hope that the plan you’ve formed in a matter of seconds is one that will actually work.
You spin him and shove him against the wall, reaching down and pulling his shirt out of his pants. There’s a hitch in Whiskey’s breath and you look at him with wide eyes, hoping that he’ll be able to read you, to know exactly what you’re going for.
Thank god he’s a smart man.
He gives you the slightest nod, and you reach into your own blouse to tug your bra strap down your arm. You can hear footsteps around the building, and Whiskey puts his hand in his hair and vigorously scrubs it through, doing his best to make it disheveled.
It’s now or never you realize, and you clamp a hand on the back of Whiskey’s neck, bringing him down close to your face. His arm winds around your back, and you do your best to let out the most ridiculous sounding giggle you possibly can.
“Come onnn-” you slur, tugging your partner closer to the corner. “No one’s around, no one will notice.”
Whiskey plants a kiss on your cheek close to your ear, and his mustache tickles your skin. “Sweetheart, you’re too drunk. We gotta go home.” His voice is steady, a tinge of laughter sprinkled in, the perfect responsible ‘boyfriend’.
“Don’t be stingy.” You whine and try one more time to pull him backwards, and when you stumble over the rocky gravel of the parking lot, Whiskey follows you, and you both find yourself face to face with your would-be informant.
You cover your mouth with your hand, giggling. “Oh my- I’m so sorry! You don’t work here do you?”
He makes a face, hands shoved into his pockets, and two of his burly friends bring up the rear, flanking behind him.
“No. Me and the boys were just out here for a smoke.”
You smile, letting your eyes drift over to Whiskey. “Oh, we were doing the same. Well, a bit more than just a smoke but-”
“Now darlin, they don’t want to know that.” Whiskey squeezes your side, and you laugh, leaning your body weight into your partner, grateful as he holds you up.
“If you don’t mind-” The informant gestures to where they had all been standing before. At a glance, you notice that the others have vanished, off to who knows where. “We’re talking privately.”
Whiskey, holds up a hand, apologetic. “Our bad. I’m just trying to get this one to go home.” He nods at you, and you press your nose into his neck, nuzzling him. “You know how it is.”
One of the men grumbles in agreement, and you can tell they’re getting antsy for the both of you to get the hell out of there.
You decide to push your luck.
You feign annoyance at Whiskey’s words and gently push yourself away from him, stumbling forward and knocking into your informant. The gravel under your feet and the heel of your boots make it easy to ‘trip’.
“Christ lady!”
“Oh my god I-”
His hand comes up to your arm to steady you, and there’s a slight kerfuffle as you regain your balance and Whiskey follows behind you, reaching out for you.
Getting your hand on the front of the man’s jacket is easy, and your sleight of hand goes off without a hitch as one of Ginger’s miniscule sized trackers lands in his breast pocket.
You apologize profusely, allowing Whiskey to gather you from behind and pull you away from the men.
“Apologies fellas.” He waves them off, putting effort into dragging you back towards the car. You can’t deny that you go a little limp, just to make him carry you. Whiskey oughta do some work on this mission.
You throw your arm up and wave wildly behind you, laughing all the while.
The two of you round the corner, but you continue your act, arms wrapped around Whiskey’s middle as you hold yourself up. You press your nose into the underside of his chin, smiling.
“Mmm, you think we’re in the clear?”
Whiskey stops for a moment and adjusts his hold on you. To anyone looking your way, you’re the picture perfect portrait of a couple who’s had one too many. “Let’s keep it up till we’re in the car and out of sight, just in case.”
Thankfully the Bronco wasn’t parked too far away, and your laughter turns real as Whiskey props you up against the car and opens the passenger side door for you.
“Alright, in ya go.”
You plop yourself into the seat, ‘fumbling’ with the buckle before Whiskey clicks it in himself and closes the door. You relax into the seat, watching him with soft eyes as he rounds the front of the car and gets in the driver's side.
The Bronco comes to life, and Whiskey turns to you, smile on his face.
“How about some sugar, sugar?” He taps a gentle finger to his lips and you have to physically refrain from rolling your eyes.
“Mmm you’re pushing it, honey.”
“And you know that’s the only way I know how to be.”
You laugh shrilly through clenched teeth, and you lean across the middle console, sneaking a glance behind Whiskey and towards the corner of the building. They’re lurking there, just as you had been before, slightly obscured by the dumpster. They’re still fucking watching.
Shit. Fine.
You slither a hand onto Whiskey’s firm chest, tugging gently on the fabric of his shirt. He follows you with ease, grinning at you. Your lips purse sweetly, and you notice Whiskey’s eyes flit down to see.
“You know what, you’re right. You do deserve some sugar.”
You want this to be over as quickly as possible, really you do. Atleast, that’s the reason you give yourself as you press your lips to Whiskey’s as fast as you can.
His mustache tickles your upper lip, but his lips are soft and there’s a lingering taste of cigarette smoke that should be gross rather than hot, but-
It’s hot.
You had planned for it just to be a peck, a quick little kiss to get those men off your back, but Whiskey tilts his head ever so slightly and presses his lips back into yours and from there, it all falls apart.
Suddenly you’re opening up your lips and letting Whiskey’s tongue peek into your mouth, your grip on his shirt getting even tighter as you actually let yourself enjoy the feeling of being kissed. Which is what’s happening here- Whiskey’s taking the lead, Whiskey is kissing you, and yeah. It’s pretty damn good.
You have a brief thought about doing this until the sun completely sets, till the patrons are forced out of the bar and folks are telling you and Whiskey to get a room when there’s a gentle hand on your elbow that’s pushing you away.
The wet sound of your lips disconnecting makes your cheeks feel hot.
Whiskey smiles at you, and it’s not the smug look you’d expect from him. It’s charming, a sweet grin stretching out his cheeks as he wipes his thumb across his bottom lip.
“Not that I don’t appreciate your zeal darlin’, but I figured we shouldn’t get too carried away out here huh?”
You glance around the parking lot, and to your luck, there’s nobody there.
Your criminal friends must have lost interest at some point when Whiskey had your bottom lip between his teeth.
You sigh heavily, letting go of Whiskey’s shirt and leaning back against the car seat, letting your head loll back.
“Oh they’re gone, thank fuck. Get us the hell out of here.”
Whiskey leans an arm into the backseat and grabs his hat, perching it atop his head.
“That was a pretty interesting diversion you cooked up there.”
You lick your lips, avoiding looking at Whiskey as he backs out of the parking lot and onto the road.
“Worked, didn’t it?”
You can’t see him, but you know he’s nodding in agreement as he drives. “Oh, absolutely.” There’s a soft silence as the wind whips through your hair and against your skin, the Bronco speeding down the road. For a moment, you have hope that Whiskey is going to let the kiss slide.
It’s short lived.
“Cherry?”
You turn in your seat. “Excuse me?”
There’s that smug grin you had missed before, plastered across Whiskey’s face as he sneaks a glance at you before putting his eyes back on the road.
“Cherry chapstick. That’s what ya tasted like. At least, that’s what I thought.”
You curse the little tube in your back pocket.
“Well that’s the only taste you’re ever gonna get of it. So, savor the flavor.”
Whiskey laughs, a short bark of laughter that comes straight from his chest.
“And I ain’t asking for any more of it Gin, cross my heart.”
“Good.”
Whiskey pipes up again a few minutes later,-
“Unless of course, you want me to.”
You laugh and shake your head, but the more you think about it, maybe you could get used to the taste of whiskey.

Get Top Dollar for Your Junk Car in Bonita Springs: How to Turn Your Clunker into Cash
When it comes to getting top dollar for your junk car in Bonita Springs, the first step is to assess its value accurately. Several factors can influence the worth of a junk car, and understanding these factors can help you negotiate a fair price with potential buyers. One of the primary factors that determine the value of a junk car is its condition. The overall state of the vehicle, including the engine, transmission, and body, plays a significant role in its market value. Vehicles with minimal damage or wear and tear tend to fetch higher prices compared to those with more extensive issues. Additionally, the age and mileage of the car can also impact its worth, as older or high-mileage vehicles may have less value in the junk car market. Key Takeaways
Assess the value of your junk car by researching its make, model, and condition
Prepare your junk car for sale by cleaning it, removing personal items, and gathering necessary paperwork
Choose the right junk car buyer in Bonita Springs by comparing offers and reading reviews
Negotiate the best price for your junk car by being knowledgeable about its value and being willing to walk away
Understand the junk car buying process in Bonita Springs to ensure a smooth and fair transaction
Prepare Your Junk Car for Sale
Once you have a good understanding of your junk car's value, the next step is to prepare the vehicle for sale. This involves cleaning and tidying up the car, as well as gathering the necessary documentation and paperwork. Cleaning and tidying up the vehicle can make a significant difference in its perceived value. Start by removing any personal belongings or trash from the interior, and give the car a thorough cleaning, both inside and out. This includes washing the exterior, vacuuming the interior, and wiping down all surfaces. Addressing any minor cosmetic issues, such as dents or scratches, can also help improve the car's appearance and make it more appealing to potential buyers. In addition to the physical preparation of the vehicle, you'll also need to gather the necessary documentation and paperwork. This includes the car's title, registration, and any maintenance records or service history you may have. Having these documents readily available will demonstrate to potential buyers that you are a responsible and transparent seller, which can help build trust and increase the chances of a successful transaction.
Choose the Right Junk Car Buyer in Bonita Springs
With your junk car prepared and its value assessed, the next step is to find the right junk car buyer in Bonita Springs. Researching reputable junk car buyers in the area and comparing their offers and services can help you make an informed decision. Start by searching online for junk car buyers in the Bonita Springs area. Look for reviews and ratings from previous customers to get a sense of the company's reputation and the quality of their service. You can also reach out to local auto salvage yards, scrap yards, or junk car removal services to inquire about their buying practices and the prices they are willing to offer. When comparing offers from different junk car buyers, consider factors such as the price they are willing to pay, the speed and convenience of the transaction, and any additional services they may provide, such as free towing or same-day pickup. It's important to weigh these factors carefully to ensure you are getting the best overall value for your junk car.
Negotiating the Best Price for Your Junk Car
Once you have identified potential junk car buyers in Bonita Springs, the next step is to negotiate the best possible price for your vehicle. Effective negotiation strategies can help you maximize the value you receive for your junk car. One key strategy is to be well-informed about the current market value of your junk car. Use the research you conducted earlier to establish a fair asking price and be prepared to justify it to the buyer. Avoid accepting the first offer, as junk car buyers may intentionally start with a lower price to leave room for negotiation. When negotiating, it's important to remain calm and confident. Avoid getting emotional or defensive, and instead, focus on highlighting the positive aspects of your junk car, such as any salvageable parts or components. Be willing to compromise, but don't be afraid to walk away if the buyer's final offer is significantly lower than your target price. Additionally, consider factors such as the buyer's reputation, their willingness to provide additional services (e.g., free towing), and the overall convenience of the transaction. These factors can be leveraged to negotiate a better deal, even if the initial price offer is not as high as you had hoped.
Understanding the Junk Car Buying Process in Bonita Springs
Factors Details
Car Condition Running or not, damaged, or totaled
Car Make and Model Year, brand, and model
Car Location Where the car is located
Local Scrap Prices Current market rates
Scrap Yard or Buyer Who is buying the car
When selling your junk car in Bonita Springs, it's important to understand the step-by-step process involved in the transaction. This knowledge can help you navigate the process smoothly and ensure a successful outcome. The junk car buying process typically begins with the buyer inspecting the vehicle and verifying its condition. They may perform a visual inspection, check the engine and transmission, and assess the overall state of the car. Once they have evaluated the vehicle, the buyer will provide you with an offer based on their assessment. If you accept the offer, the next step is to complete the necessary paperwork. This includes transferring the vehicle's title and registration to the buyer, as well as any other documentation required by local regulations. The buyer may also need to provide you with a bill of sale or other documentation to confirm the transaction. The timeline for the junk car buying process can vary depending on the buyer and the specific circumstances. Some buyers may be able to complete the transaction on the same day, while others may require a few days to finalize the process. It's important to discuss the expected timeline with the buyer upfront to ensure that your expectations are aligned.
Avoiding Common Pitfalls When Selling a Junk Car
When selling a junk car in Bonita Springs, it's essential to be aware of potential pitfalls and take steps to protect yourself from scams or unfair practices. Identifying and addressing any issues with the vehicle can help ensure a smooth and successful transaction. One common pitfall is the presence of hidden or undisclosed issues with the junk car. Before engaging with a buyer, thoroughly inspect the vehicle and document any problems or concerns. This will help you avoid misunderstandings or disputes during the negotiation process. Another potential issue is encountering unscrupulous buyers who may try to take advantage of the situation. Be wary of buyers who offer significantly lower prices than the market value or who pressure you to accept a deal quickly. It's important to research the buyer's reputation and to trust your instincts if something seems suspicious. To protect yourself, it's a good idea to have the necessary paperwork in order, including the vehicle's title and registration. This will demonstrate your transparency and legitimacy as a seller, making it more difficult for a buyer to take advantage of you.
Maximizing Your Junk Car's Value: Tips and Tricks
When selling a junk car in Bonita Springs, there are several strategies you can employ to maximize the value you receive. One approach is to identify and address any salvageable parts or components within the vehicle. Carefully inspect the junk car and take note of any parts or components that may still be in good condition or have resale value. This could include the engine, transmission, tires, or even certain interior or exterior components. By highlighting these salvageable items to potential buyers, you can position your junk car as a more valuable asset, potentially leading to a higher offer. Additionally, you can explore alternative options for maximizing the value of your junk car. For example, some buyers may be interested in purchasing the vehicle for its scrap metal value, even if the car is not drivable. In such cases, you can negotiate a price based on the weight and composition of the vehicle's metal components. Another strategy is to consider selling individual parts or components separately, rather than the entire vehicle. This approach may require more time and effort, but it can potentially result in a higher overall return on your junk car investment.
Paperwork and Legal Considerations for Selling a Junk Car
When selling a junk car in Bonita Springs, it's crucial to ensure that all the necessary paperwork and legal requirements are in order. This will not only protect you as the seller but also ensure a smooth and compliant transaction. The primary document required for selling a junk car is the vehicle's title. Ensure that you have the original title in your possession and that it is free of any liens or outstanding loans. Additionally, you may need to provide the buyer with the vehicle's registration and any other relevant documentation, such as maintenance records or service history. It's important to familiarize yourself with the local regulations and requirements for selling a junk car in Bonita Springs. This may include specific procedures for transferring the title, reporting the sale to the appropriate authorities, or adhering to any environmental or safety guidelines. By addressing the paperwork and legal considerations upfront, you can avoid potential issues or delays in the transaction, and provide the buyer with the confidence that the sale is being conducted in a transparent and compliant manner.
Reinvesting the Cash from Your Junk Car Sale
Once you have successfully sell your junk car in Bonita Springs, you may be wondering how to best utilize the cash you've received. There are several practical and strategic ways to reinvest the money, depending on your financial goals and priorities. One option is to use the proceeds to pay off any outstanding debts or loans you may have, such as credit card balances or personal loans. Eliminating high-interest debt can have a significant impact on your financial well-being and free up funds for other investments or savings. Alternatively, you could consider reinvesting the money into a new vehicle, either by putting it towards the down payment or using it to purchase a more reliable used car. This can be especially beneficial if your junk car is your primary mode of transportation and you need a replacement. Regardless of your specific financial situation, it's important to carefully consider your options and develop a plan for how to best utilize the funds from the junk car sale. By making informed and strategic decisions, you can maximize the impact of this unexpected windfall and put it to work towards achieving your financial objectives. In conclusion: If you have a junk car in Bonita Springs, there are several options available to you. You can sell it to a junkyard for cash, donate it to a charity, or even try to sell it for parts. Whatever you choose to do, make sure to research your options and find the best solution for your specific situation. With a little effort, you can turn that old junk car into something useful or profitable.

Trade-In or Junk It? When to Choose Auto Wreckers Over Dealers
When it's time to part ways with your vehicle, the decision can feel overwhelming. Should you trade it in at a dealership or send it off to auto wreckers? Understanding your options can make all the difference if your car is still running like a champ or barely limping along.
In this blog, you will explore when to choose auto wreckers over dealers and how this choice can benefit you.
Understanding the Options: Trade-In vs. Junking
Trade-In: The Conventional Route
Trading in your car at a dealership is a traditional route many people take. This option often seems straightforward: you drive your car to the dealer, they assess its value, and you receive a discount on your next purchase.
Pros:
Convenience: It’s a one-stop shop; you can complete everything in one visit.
Immediate Credit: The trade-in value goes directly toward your new vehicle purchase.
Cons:
Lower Value: Dealers often offer less for trade-ins compared to what you might get from selling privately.
Emotional Attachment: If you’ve cherished your car, saying goodbye in a trade-in might feel like a letdown.
Auto Wreckers: A Practical Alternative
On the flip side, if your vehicle is beyond repair or just taking up space in your driveway, auto wreckers can be a fantastic alternative. These specialists focus on recycling and disposing of vehicles in an eco-friendly manner.
Pros:
Fair Prices for Junk Cars: Auto wreckers typically offer competitive prices for vehicles that may not run anymore.
Environmental Responsibility: They ensure that parts are recycled, and fluids are disposed of safely, contributing to a cleaner environment.
No Need for Repairs: You can sell your car as-is, without worrying about fixing minor issues or detailing it for resale
Cons:
Less Convenience: It may take a bit more effort to find reputable auto wreckers and arrange for pick-up or drop-off.
No New Car Incentive: Unlike trading in, you won't receive a discount on a new vehicle.
When to Choose Auto Wreckers
Deciding when to contact auto wreckers comes down to a few key scenarios:
1. When the Cost of Repairs Exceeds the Car’s Value
If your car requires extensive repairs that are more expensive than what it’s worth, it’s a sign to consider junking it. An old vehicle with failing components is unlikely to fetch a high trade-in value, making auto wreckers a more appealing option.
2. When You Need Quick Cash
If you need cash quickly, selling to auto wreckers can be a speedy solution. The process is usually straightforward, and many offer same-day services. This can be especially beneficial if you're facing unexpected expenses.
3. When You Have an Old Vehicle
Older cars that don’t meet modern standards might not hold much value to dealers, making auto wreckers a more logical choice.
How to Choose the Right Auto Wreckers
When it comes to selecting the right auto wreckers, consider the following:
Research: Look for local auto wreckers with good reviews. Online platforms can provide insight into customer experiences.
Get Quotes: Don’t settle for the first offer. Get quotes from multiple wreckers to ensure you’re getting a fair price.
Check for Licensing: Ensure the auto wreckers are licensed and environmentally responsible.
Conclusion
Deciding between trading in your vehicle or sending it to auto wreckers doesn’t have to be a headache. By weighing your options carefully, you can make a choice that aligns with your needs and circumstances.
Remember, if your car is beyond repair or simply taking up space, auto wreckers are not just a practical choice; they can also help you earn some cash while ensuring your old vehicle is recycled responsibly.
As the old saying goes, “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” This rings especially true in the world of auto wrecking. So, when you find yourself faced with the question, "Trade-in or junk it?" let the benefits of auto wreckers guide your decision!

How Scrap Car Rates Are Calculated: What You Need to Know
When it comes to junk cars, understanding how scrap car rates are calculated is essential for getting the best deal. Many factors come into play that can significantly impact the cash you receive for your vehicle. Here’s what you need to know.
1. Weight of the Vehicle
One of the primary factors influencing scrap car rates is the weight of the vehicle. Scrap yards typically pay per ton of metal. Heavier vehicles like SUVs and trucks often fetch a higher price than smaller cars because they contain more metal. When you contact a junk car removal service, they will consider the weight of your vehicle to determine the initial payout.
2. Market Metal Prices
The current market prices for metals like steel and aluminum play a crucial role in determining scrap car rates. These prices can fluctuate based on supply and demand, economic conditions, and global markets. For instance, if steel prices are high, the payout for scrap cars will also increase. Junk car removal services generally stay updated on market trends to offer competitive prices.
3. Condition of the Car
The condition of your vehicle is another critical factor. If your car is still operational or has valuable parts that can be resold, you may receive a higher offer. Even if your vehicle is junked, having intact components like the engine, transmission, or catalytic converter can significantly influence the price. When inquiring about scrap car rates, be honest about your vehicle's condition to get the most accurate quote.
4. Additional Features
Certain features or parts of the car can also affect its scrap value. Items like leather seats, advanced technology, or aftermarket modifications may add value. If your vehicle has any special features, make sure to mention them when you request a quote for scrap car rates.
5. Local Demand
Local demand for scrap vehicles can vary, impacting the rates offered. Areas with a higher demand for scrap metal may yield better prices. For this reason, it’s beneficial to shop around and get multiple quotes from various junk car removal services in your area.
6. Removal Costs
Sometimes, junk car removal services may deduct towing fees or disposal costs from the payout, especially if the vehicle is inoperable. However, many reputable companies offer free towing as part of their service, allowing you to maximize your earnings.
Conclusion
Understanding how scrap car rates are calculated can help you make informed decisions when selling your junk car. Factors such as weight, market metal prices, the vehicle's condition, and local demand all contribute to the final payout. If you’re looking to get cash for your junk car, it’s essential to research and compare offers from different services to ensure you receive the best value. At Junk Auto Car, we strive to provide competitive scrap car rates, fast service, and hassle-free removal. Contact us today for a quote and turn your scrap car into cash!
