love your writing. youre awesome. you don't have to but if if you could could you make yuyu hakusho characters x reader who's into cute dresses, make up, skin and haircare routines, stuffed animals collections and girly things. would they be accepting of her, find her annoying, join her or what do you think? plz
Yu Yu Hakusho ~With a very feminine reader~
Manga/anime: Yu Yu Hakusho
Warnings: nothing
(Y/N): your name
Thank you very much for the compliment! I personally didn't know which characters you meant exactly, so I created the headcanon with the main 4 and Koenma. If you also want someone else, write to me privately and I'll include them.
U. Yusuke
He thinks you're very adorable, but he'll never join you in hair and skin care
However, he really enjoys putting on your makeup, even if he often messes up your face
When you come back from the hairdresser with your hair cut or from the beautician with your nails done, he's always playing dumb that doesn't notice anything; however, after seeing you were offended, he compliments you ("I noticed it, (Y/N). You look great.")
Whenever he can, he buys you cute stuffed animals or accessories, such as necklaces and bracelets or rubber bands and hair clips
He also gives you nice clothes if he can buy them for you, and, if you wear them, he'll blush deeply and turn his head away so you can't see his huge blush
K. Kazuma
He's probably the person who accepts you the most
Are you wearing a nice outfit? "You're so cute, (Y/N)!" Have you groomed or cut your hair? "You look great, darling!" Did you wear makeup? "You're so gorgeous! You look great without makeup, but you're beautiful even like that!"
He goes to the game room a lot of times to win stuffed animals for you; when he wins nothing, he sulks all day ("Sorry, I won nothing..." "Kazuma, you don't have to give me a stuffed animal a day, don't worry!")
You two often do skin care together, but don't tell Yusuke this or he'll make fun of Kazuma for life
To give you gifts, he often asks Keiko for advice, as he considers his sister to be one of the least feminine women in existence (Shizuru always gets angry when he points this out to her)
Kurama
He finds it very cute you always get dressed up, but he often tells you you're beautiful, even without accessories or luxurious clothes
He always, always notices when you do something different to your hair, nails or face ("Have you done anything to your hair/nails/face? You're very beautiful, (Y/N).")
Probably, you two do hair care together: you're the only person wh's allowed to care for his hair
When you wear cute clothes, he blushes slightly and looks at you affectionately and meanwhile Youko stirs inside him
He sometimes lets you find cute stuffed animals or accessories on your bed, and then he pretends he didn't put them there ("That? No, I didn't give it to you.")
Hiei
He doesn't understand you: he can't understand why you care yourself so much, and he refuses to join you if you ask him this
Despite this, one day, after seeing his sister getting her hair done by Kazuma (Hiei wanted to kill him), he decided he would do the same to you: so, he combs your hair every morning
For a while, he never gave you accessories or stuffed animals, since he thought they were useless; however, everything changed when, one day, he gave you a hair clip he had found during a mission, and he saw your happiness born from that small gesture
"I found it lying around and I thought only a person like you could wear that horror."
This is what he says every time he gives you something to wear, but it's clear he does it because he loves seeing you smile and seeing you with what he steals buys
Koenma
Like Kazuma, he also compliments you when you change your appearance, changing your hairstyle or wearing different and nice clothes every time
You two do skin treatment together: he always claims your hands have the power to make his skin soft ("Only (Y/N) can touch my face! Only she has magic hands!")
He gives you everything you want: have you seen a nice hairpin? You'll find it in your room. Have you expressed your desire for a dress? It'll be yours immediately
He forces his subordinates to have their hair or make-up done whenever you want poor Jorge
When he can (once a day), he gives you a stuffed animal

- Slow burn romance with Hiei
For a very long time, Hiei desperately tries to convince himself that he isn’t falling.
gender neutral. sfw. fluff. headcanons.
PART 2
✧༺✧༻✧༺✧༻✧༺✧༻✧༺✧༻✧༺✧༻
𓆩⟡𓆪 Upon first meeting, Hiei barely pays you any attention. He's not the kind of guy who's charmed by looks, and the fact that you're human doesn't make him any fonder. Similar to when he met Yusuke and the others, it takes him time to warm up. He's moved by personality and character.
𓆩⟡𓆪 Once you pique his interest, he studies every detail about you. Your scent, your energy, the sound of your voice—everything. With just a glance, he can spot a small change in your appearance, such as a new accessory or a shift in your mood. He doesn't comment on these things; he simply keeps them tucked away in his mind. It's like he's building a little portfolio in his head. All while denying the fact that he’s interested in you.
𓆩⟡𓆪 Hiei tries to build up a mental wall every time you appear in his thoughts, but it’s useless. The mere mention of your name makes his ears perk up like a dog! One minute, he wants nothing to do with you, and the next, he’s waiting for the moment he can see you again.
𓆩⟡𓆪 Internally, Hiei is conflicted. He thinks romantic feelings are a silly human experience. But as time goes on, he can’t stay in denial for much longer. The dilemma is bothersome, yet he thinks about you frequently.
𓆩⟡𓆪 As he struggles to control his emotions, you’ll never know how he truly feels. It’s almost impossible to catch him looking in your direction. He’s a master at observation. As soon as you try to catch his gaze, he’s staring off in the distance, as if you aren’t even there.
𓆩⟡𓆪 Despite his silent yearning, Hiei will avoid you. If you try to start a conversation with him, he keeps it short and simple. It’s difficult to create a bond, especially when he won't even look at you. However, you don’t get the impression that he wants to push you away. He’s a man of few words but his body language reveals enough. Sometimes he may stand beside you, a little closer than usual, and your arms brush. As subtle as it may be, it’s electrifying.
𓆩⟡𓆪 Even though Hiei is unsure of his relationship with you, he takes pride in the possibility that you like him too. Facing his feelings would be a lot easier if you shared them. Whenever he noticed your eyes admiring him from afar, the tiniest smirk would curl on his lips. Feeding his ego is the best way to break his shell. One time you laughed at his witty insult towards Kuwabara and he was so freaking smug about it.
𓆩⟡𓆪 Eventually, he’ll start to initiate small talk, usually when there are fewer people around. He takes the time to reassure you about upcoming fights or advise you to stay cautious.
𓆩⟡𓆪 If you have the capability to defend yourself, he worries less, but if you’re an ordinary human, Hiei instinctively keeps you safe. For instance, if there’s a huge explosion that sends rocks flying everywhere, he quickly lifts you out of harm's way. Thanks to his speed, no one notices, but the two of you are left flustered afterward.
𓆩⟡𓆪 As feelings continue to build, it's hard for Hiei to maintain his indifference. When someone else openly flirts with you, he can only stand quietly while they make their move. It’s not his place to intervene. If he were to do something brash, he risks exposing himself. Hiei is practically boiling on the inside. If you were taken away from him, he’d lose his shit.
𓆩⟡𓆪 For the most part, things stay the same (like for months). Hiei stubbornly refuses to confess. He may have accepted his human-like desires, but that doesn't mean he's ready to take the next step. Dating is too foreign and unfamiliar. Plus, you'd be put at risk if word got out that he cared for you.
𓆩⟡𓆪 But maybe you find yourself in danger, or Hiei is putting his life on the line during a fight. Emotions will be high, and the idea of losing each other is enough to bring out the truth. Possibly?

kurama x reader x hiei with “sweet heart”? i can see kurama and reader ganging up on their beloved after finding out he’s ticklish- only for kurama to betray y/n and both he and hiei end up tickling them instead as revenge?
{Candy Heart Prompts: OFFICIALLY CLOSED!}
AHH! The boys! I love them so much akrearjkaejrkaejkrjkaewrj GAWD! :D I've gotcha covered, anon!
Sweet Heart: "Oh? Is someone ticklish?"
“What was that?”
“Nothing.”
“That was certainly something.”
“No it was not-”
“What’s going on?” Kurama asked, looking over at you and Hiei.
“Hiei’s ticklish!” You grinned, poking at the small demon’s sides once more and making him twitch. “He’s ticklish!”
“I told you I’m not- gah! Kurama!”
“Oh? Is someone ticklish?” The fox teased, delighted. Soon he was joining you- poking and prodding at the small demon as Hiei gritted his teeth through reluctant giggles. “I wouldn’t have guessed- what a delightful discovery.”
“I hahahte you! Gahahha, yoohohou jeheherk, tahahke that!” Hiei shot both hands out, jabbing into both you and Kurama’s bellies. The fox jumped, giggling softly at the prod. You on the other hand all but spasmed at the touch, squeaking.
Hiei and Kurama both paused, looking at you with wide eyes. “What was…”
“Oh? Is someone else ticklish?” Kurama turned his emerald gaze onto you, sending shivers of anticipation up his spine. “What a discovery- both of you are ticklish!”
“Now hold on- Hiei was ticklish first!” You tried to back up, but said demon was behind you in seconds. Hands grabbed your arms, keeping you in place as Kurama approached. “You should help me get hi-hhiihm!”
“What was that? Get you? Insistent, aren’t you?” Hiei growled from behind, quickly placing his hands on your sides to tickle. “You sure are quick to offer yourself up, (Y/N).”
“I must say- Hiei makes a good point. You shouldn’t be so quick to give in.” Kurama cooed, bringing his own hands to your ribs, pressing in. “You must practice self preservation.”
“Yohohohou twohohohoho suhuhuhuhuck! Ahehahahahaha, wahahhait- nohohoho nohohoht thehehehree!” No matter where you twisted or turned, Kurama and Hiei had you. Small rapid fingers danced along your waist and hips, while graceful slow ones pressed along your upper ribs. All you could do was laugh and dance in their clutches. “I hahahahhte yohohohou twohohohohohoo!”
“Aww, you hear that?” They love us, Hiei.” Kurama winked, kissing your burning cheek.
“They sure do.” Hiei snorted, snickering when you let out a proper squeak. “Let’s show them how much we love them.”

NIKU!!! HELLO!!! I'VE GOT QUESTIONS!! :O
5., 7., 66., 91. <3
HELLOW RU!!! thankoo!! i have... answers!! LMAO
have you ever made a playlist about something you were writing as an elaborate means to procrastinate when you could have been actually writing and if yes drop a link, son.
yes. i have like two playlists for two wips. here's one of them LMAO. it's not technically complete oops. (i don't even remember why some of these songs are on here either tbh...)
tell us about the plot of the first fanfic you ever wrote.
i don't want to say actually, but it was really bad. i don't even know how to describe it outside of being bad. uh. it was a Hiei x Reader fic where uh, he was too late to save Reader's life. It was so bad omg.
when have you felt the most confident in your writing?
uhhh. it was not a fic. when i was in high school, i wrote a personal piece for a regional art and writing contest and i was really proud of it!! before we turned it in, my creative writing teacher pulled me aside and was like 'you know this piece is pretty good, and i know what you were trying to do with it, but there's a big chance that it might go over the judge's head.'
and it won a silver prize! but i wrote another piece for the contest that i thought was inferior and that one won a gold prize. ٩(ఠ益ఠ)۶
it's fine tho ig. it still won something LMAO.
how has your writing style changed over the years?
this is a hard question because i've never really sat down and like compared my work over the years. but a few years back i did ask someone who's been reading my work for a long time and she told me that my work is more... concise now? which is probably true? i don't care as much about word count as i did when i was a teenager so i don't spend time trying to fluff it up LMAOOOO.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You hummed quietly to yourself, to a tune that had no name but seemed to have a hold on your memory regardless, as you slowly and carefully cataloged and put away a new shipment of books your store was just provided. Fully immersing, and enjoying, yourself in the quiet ambiance your old bookstore provided you.
Most would complain, or even be creeped out, by the old and dark building; to refuse to spend a moment within its walls after the sun went down, for the atmosphere would haunt and linger on their skin - for after dark it always appeared uninviting.
But not you.
To you, the smell of books and old wood brought you comfort. For it always had even when you were a young child. Books always provided you with wisdom, and adventure, and were a constant companion. They were never fleeting or as fickle as the people around you. To see and be surrounded by books always gave you the same feeling of nostalgia, the kind you would find when you saw an old friend once again.
So it only made sense when you grew up that you wanted to hold onto that feeling; to want to learn, study, and be around the literature of ancient and modern. To you, there was no better way to fulfill that desire than to make a living around books. To sell and give to others the wonder, amazement, and comfort you had always experienced.
You prided yourself in your business too, how could you not? You were the only bookstore within miles to carry everything, anything, that a person could want. From classic old literature and poems, to grand adventures, to sweet and swoon-worthy romances, to even horrors that could shake the core of any man. That stories of unshakeable friendships and love, to the cryptic and horror, could all be found within your walls.
Due to the entirety of this, all sorts of people would come to you. Whether it be to help them get inspiration from the fantastical, help ease them through a broken heart, help them feel a thrill of the unknown, or to help them learn and research things they have never learned before.
And it was always those who wanted to come to you for research that always stayed within your mind; deep in your memory. For those people always seemed to want to learn things that perhaps they should not, and that always piqued your interest.
One such person was a raven-haired man. Short in stature, but within his eyes was the most beautiful shade of ruby; one that could rival the splendor and beauty of the gem itself. He was always curt, the questions he asked of you were always short and sounded more like a demand than an inquiry. And he never stayed long. Always used a quick stride to get what he needed, always left his money on your counter before you could properly ask for the appropriate payment, and he would always leave without even so much as a nod in your direction.
It was made clear through his actions that he wanted nothing more than to avoid you; to spare himself the chance to interact with you at all cost.
But despite what his actions were trying to convey, trying to do, he still intrigued you. Not due to his seemingly rude behavior, but rather the knowledge he wished to inquire about. The kind of books he wished to purchase from you - all of them books on demons.
You never questioned his desire to learn about them, that was a principle you always carried with all your patrons - it was not your business what they chose to come to you for - but you still couldn’t help but be intrigued with him.
Perhaps it was those ruby eyes that drew you in. That held you against your will and made you wish to seek out their gaze over and over again.
After that first encounter, you tried to engage with him the scarce few times he returned to your store; tried your best to make polite conversation. Your efforts were always rebuffed with a roll of those enchanting eyes. But you were nothing if not persistent, your want to know more ever-present since childhood, and there was nothing more you wanted to uncover in this world than the man who always appeared at your store late at night and paid you more than what was needed.
But if he refused to speak to you, refused to want to engage in your sweet hello’s whenever he would drop by, then you would just have to get creative.
Notes, that was the only thing your mind could come up with. To pass him along notes in hopes he would understand your want for connection; he had become a regular patron at your store after all. But how to do it was another issue in and of itself.
But a stroke of brilliance struck you late one night as you carefully repaired a book that was damaged by an all-too-eager child. You would leave notes in the books he wished to borrow from you, those he would not be sure would give him what he desired.
It was an all too perfect situation, one that made you have your doubts when you placed your first little letter within the old bindings he wished to look at. You hoped it would be enough to start a least a conversation, but the lingering doubt made you question if it would - wondering if instead, he would find the act creepy and disturbed.
But imagine your surprise when, a week later, that same book sat upon your counter with a note upon it.
It was a strange way to communicate, you would admit. But you knew better than anyone that written words were a better way to convey the feelings one wished to speak; to enthrall a person better than a clumsy conversation.
You assumed that Hiei, the name he had finally given you, thought the same. For without fail the books he would return would always have a continuation to the story thread you had started previously. And sometimes, you would find these little written treasures hidden within books that had sat upon your counter, or those you had yet to put away, or on shelves near where he usually sought your wares.
Hiei had a wonderful way with words, the best you had ever come across - though perhaps that was due to your bias towards him. Nonetheless, he told of who he was and the amazing journey and stories he had endured. Some seemed to be so farfetched you couldn’t bring yourself to believe them. And yet there was an honesty to the elegant scribble, one you could not deny even if you tried your hardest to.
It gave you a new sense of eagerness whenever you would come to open your shop for another day; hoping once more for a rush of exhilaration. To find another elegantly written note left for you in some surprise book - one that he either loved or knew you loved. There was a romance blooming, much like the spring flowers that adorned fields and meadow around your small shop, you could not be convinced otherwise.
But that humming you had let out, your hands that were busy putting away your shipment on their appropriate shelves, came to an end after your reminiscence. It was so harshly cut down by a sense of rejection and sadness when you realized the aisle you were in; the one of theology.
It had now been weeks, if you remembered correctly, since the last note you had written for and given to him. One that was so delicately placed in the latest book within the series he had been so enthralled in, one he had specifically asked about in his last correspondence to you; hoping to purchase it. You hoped, more assumption than anything, that he would respond back right away once he had picked the parcel up.
But assumptions truly did make a mockery of people.
You felt a fool, and your heart could not help but beat and sting with heartbreak. And as the last book was placed delicately in its new home, you sought out the only cure you had ever had in times like this - to read from, and gain comfort, from an old and favoured romance novel.
You opened it, planning to read it as soon as you could, as you made your way back to the front of the store. The soft thud that nearly echoed in the empty building caused you to halt your movements and gaze down at the old oak floors.
And there it was, a note.
One that was now nearly crinkled, that sat just before your feet, that called out to you to pick it up from the cold floor and read the words from the man that you so longed to hear from.
Shopkeeper
I suppose that name seems ridiculous now, at least it does to me. There are so many names I wish to call you now, so many endearments, but I am afraid those such notions may not be reciprocated and thus leave me with merely calling you what you are.
But really you are more than that
Over these past few months, I have learned that. I learned so many things and have had my eyes open to a world I had never known, and truly it is all due to you. All due to the marvelousness that is you.
I have been so blind, ignorant if you will, to the things around me. Shutting myself off from any possibilities that were unknown to me; for reasons, I wish I could explain myself but truly can only chalk it up to fear - fear of the unknown and what it might bring.
But that unknown brought me you. And despite my efforts otherwise, you have proved to be a constant in my life. A presence that took me far too long to acknowledge and even longer to let know how I feel. It has been a slow journey, one that I can only commend you for being so patient with, but now is the time I finally let you know everything that you are to me and who I am.
But that is the thing, isn’t it? I simply cannot find the words to describe all the amazing, and sweet, and wonderful things that make you who you are - it is simply all too much and not enough at the same time. Yet what I do know is that you are one of the only good things within my life, and I treasure you more than anything in this world and the next.
I pray, which is something I rarely do, that you feel the same. That your heart longs just as achingly as mine. And that you will allow me the chance and honor to call you mine; forever and always.
I love you, dear Shopkeeper, and I think I always will.
Hiei
You felt before you could see the teardrops that bloomed on the parchment, your eyes flowing unabashedly with the emotions those words displayed before you provided. Moved beyond belief that someone would ever write to you so heavenly, so celestially, about their declaration of love to you.
Never in your life could you ever imagine something like that could ever happen to you. And yet here you stood with those words staring back at you as you read them over and over again. Not wanting for another moment to take your gaze away from those enchanting words, not caring if the grip you now had with the delicate paper was too tight as you continued to clutch it close to your face.
Your trance was finally broken when the bell to your shop rang loudly in your ears; hurdling you away from the sublime trance you were in.
“S-sorry!” You called out, clearing your throat as best you could “But we are currently closed for the night!”
The voice that responded back, one that claimed “I know you are.”, caught you by surprise in the best possible way you could have imagined at that moment. Eyes shooting up and towards the door, as you watched the man you have fallen so deeply in love with enter; an almost smug smile on his face as he took his usual long gaited strides towards you.
“I wondered when you would get my note” Hiei murmured, not wanting the break the silence too harshly and scare you away “Though I suppose I picked the worst possible place to leave it.”
You shook your head, a smile slowly beaming across your face as you sniffled away your sadness “No no, not at all! In fact, I think this was the perfect place to put it.”
“Maybe, you’re right.” Hiei smiled in turn, reaching to grab hold of your hands - being careful of the note “But regardless, allow me to make this right. Allow me the chance to not only properly apologize for making you wait so long, but the chance to properly earn your love. Without any notes.”
You let out a breathless giggle, one that matched his happy sigh, at his last comment; unable to control your head as it bobbed up and down in acceptance.
“I would love nothing more.”

Hello everyone! I rarely write, but after rewatching Yu Yu Hakusho recently, I made a little Hiei x reader scenario. I apologize if he’s too OOC; I’m not very good at character writing—or anything that follows a storyline really. So please don’t judge me too harshly! Also, just so you’re aware, it’s written in first person. Please feel free to imagine your own context! I hope I’ve kept it gender neutral enough and that nothing is too imposing. If it sucks, I’m sorry to disappoint. But if you like it, then I’m glad I could provide you with some entertainment! Thanks for reading!
Tumblr media
Hiei x Reader Start!
“I don’t need any of your stupid human sentimentality.”
“I know you don’t…I just—” I just what? “I care about you…”
“You waste your energy; save your emotions for someone who desires them.”
How do I respond to something like that? “Please, Hiei…”
“Stop embarrassing yourself.”
“I’m sorry…” Even during your rebuff, all I want to do is wrap my arms around you, lay my head against your back. It’s obvious you want nothing to do with me. So why is it that I still want you? Why do I still want to comfort you? Is that just my nature? I know you’re simply being honest, but your honesty hurts. I hold back the tears. I didn’t want you to see just how fragile I truly am.
“Don’t be.”
Your words were a little less harsh this time, but you still didn’t turn to face me. Besides, I’m sure they weren’t said with any ounce of understanding but rather admonishment. What more could I do other than clasp my hands together and stare awkwardly at my feet? “I know I’m just a weak, pathetic human in your eyes,” your beautiful, shimmering crimson eyes, “but I can’t help the way I am… Though I guess you can’t help the way you are, either. But I would never want to change you, Hiei. That wouldn’t be fair to you.” Not that anyone was capable of changing you in the first place. Not that anyone should even try.
You said nothing. The only sound was the wind blowing through the trees.
“Well, maybe you don’t need stupid human sentimentality,” I almost agreed that it was indeed stupid, at least in most cases, “but I guess I still do at times…” Did anything I say even matter? I swallowed the heavy lump in my throat. “So…could I at least…give you…a hug? Just one? If not for you, then for me?”
As much as I wanted to reach out to you, to let you know that someone was there for you, whose pain was my pain—then again, maybe your ordeals have never pained you. I suppose it was rather presumptuous of me to assume. As much as I still wanted to shower you with adoration, I knew it was borne of my own selfish desires, too.
At last you swung around to face me. Your expression was stoic as usual, not revealing much. Regardless, I couldn’t help but notice how your eyes glinted in the moonlight. You stared at me for a moment, contemplative.
Finally, you let out a sharp, exasperated sigh as you half-turned, now gazing off into the distance. I awaited your response patiently and impatiently, fully prepared for more rejection. Somehow, I felt both hopeful and hopeless.
“If I say yes…” you paused, glaring at me again with hands buried into the pockets of your cloak. Your voice was low and full of quiet indignation, “will you stop bothering me?”
I grinned meekly. “At least for tonight.”
“Tch… Fine,” you grumbled. “Make it quick.”
I didn’t attempt to contain my smile. I pranced up to you. You wouldn’t look at me, but I could see the annoyance plastered all over your face. I didn’t mind it, though. If anything, I felt special. Despite your blatant contempt for any and all forms of affection, you graciously allowed me this once in a lifetime experience. I don’t know what I might have done to earn such unprecedented generosity, but I gladly accepted it, appreciated it.
Cautiously, I threaded my arms beneath yours, linking my wrists together behind your back. I didn’t squeeze too hard. Slowly, I brought my head to rest against your chest. You were so warm. I didn’t want to let go.
You didn’t reciprocate. That was okay. I didn’t expect you to. “Thank you, Hiei,” I managed softly.
“Foolish human.”
I know.
You granted me a few more seconds before a stern “That’s enough.”
Surprisingly, you didn’t push me away. And though I was reluctant, I respected your boundaries and released you.
“Hn… Not a word of this to anyone.”
“Of course.” To be honest, my heart was still full of melancholy. For I knew you would likely never requite my feelings, if you were even capable of doing so. But I guess that was okay, too. Because no matter what might happen, I’d still be there for you. After all, you awarded me this moment. Why, I’d probably never know. But for now, it was enough.
I spun on my heel. “Want to go now?”
Again, you said nothing and began to walk away. You maintained a steady pace that suggested I was permitted to follow. Another small smile crept across my face as I trailed after you like an obedient puppy, resisting the urge to hold your hand.
We continued like that for a while: enjoying the night air together as we leisurely made our way back to Genkai’s estate in a comfortable silence.

Sworn to Stay- Hiei x GN!Reader
CW: SFW, fluff, comfort, anxiety, sensory overstimulation, gender neutral reader ---- Sometimes the world is too much, where it eats at you until everything is too loud, too bright, and when touched you feel raw. Sometimes you feel like you can’t control it, like you may explode any moment and your mind is aching as much as your trembling muscles. You can’t scream but you can’t stop yourself from crying. You can’t make yourself better and you feel like you may be shattering even though you’re desperately trying to hold yourself together.
Hiei can see it, with his keen eyes trained on you. He doesn’t scoff, he doesn’t tease, though your human worries may be simple compared to what he has experienced in the past he doesn’t ever belittle you. Because they are still your worries, they still make you terrified and overwhelmed and you are so fragile that he feels the need to make it better. You are his. It’s his duty to protect you from hardship even if it’s your own emotions causing it. However, Hiei isn’t good at comforting. He doesn’t know how to offer words of empty sympathy or strong advice. Your worlds are completely different and yet have converged because he could never imagine his life without you. So, he does what he knows best. He silently gives you support. Making you food that probably could be made by a toddler and yet you look at him like he’s given you the world. He sits on the sill, protecting you, watching the world go by and giving consistent stability as you wrap yourself in a blanket that smells like petrichor, ash, and cinnamon. Those scents that you recognize so well, a blanket Hiei handed you but won’t mention to you that he has tortured himself with its existence just to provide you with some reassurance. It's all these little things he does that stops the sniffles, slows the tears, and eases the tension. But what really calms your mind is when he notices that you are ready for him to wrap his arms around you. He does it without comment, pressing his nose against the nape of your neck and breathing steadily against you. It’s quiet, an endless promise he gives that breaks through the fear and overstimulation, a sworn statement without a word that says he will always be there. Without request he will stay with you in the way he knows how and honestly, it’s the way you crave. And when you are ready, you turn to him and whisper, “Thank you, Hiei.” “Hn,” is his noncommittal response but his cherry red eyes soften in the way that only you notice, and you snuggle deeper into his arms.  ---     Read more content at my Patreon

hey so how do you think Hiei, Yusuke and Kurama would deal with a crush who thinks the boys are really funny. Like Hiei sarcastic comments has crush giggling in the back all the time. Kurama being a bit of a troll sometimes. Yusuke snark gets them easily¿
Yu Yu Hakusho ~With a reader who thinks they're funny~
Manga/anime: Yu Yu Hakusho
Warnings: nothing
(Y/N): your name
U. Yusuke
The first few times you laughed at his jokes or sarcastic comments, even if they weren't funny, he was weirded out; then, he understood you just thought he was really funny, and he liked it when you laughed
In fact, currently he makes a lot of jokes to keep you entertained
When you laugh at his comments, he acts like Kazuma while he talks to Yukina: he blushes deeply, stutters slightly and starts acting a little stupid and strange
However, he tries not to let you know how much he likes your laugh but he doesn't succeed too much
Know he'll get offended if you don't laugh at his jokes
Kurama
He knew he loved you when he first heard you laugh at one of his comments: he understood he wanted you to keep laughing forever
In fact, he turned the same color as his hair the first time he saw you like that
However, he never thought of himself as a funny person, so your laughter confused him at first too
Unlike Yusuke, he don't make more jokes or sarcastic comments, because he's afraid you might find him excessive
Now he blushes slightly and smiles softly when you laugh and when he sees you are amused by him
Hiei
That woman is so strange...
He always thinks so when you laugh at his sarcastic comments
At first, he thought you were either crazy or you didn't understand his comments, but then he realized you just found him funny
Every time you laughed at his comments, he got a strange pleasant feeling, so he asked Kurama what this was
Currently he blushes a little every time you laugh because he remembers Kurama's response: "Hiei, you love (Y/N), and therefore you also like to see her having fun."

Five Moments During the Dark Tournament
11/18/2022 edit: don’t mind me!  just reformatting.
summary: you and hiei, five moments during the tournament. hiei x gn!reader.
cw: gn!reader, they/them pronouns used.  canon-typical violence, swearing.  cuddling and fluff and hiei playing hard to get, as per usual.
wc: 2,220.
01.
When Hiei saw Yukina in the stand after she yelled out for Kuwabara, he thought that he would very quickly show Botan what the sharp side of his blade felt like.
When he saw you standing next to Yukina, he rectified that thought — the sword was too merciful for Botan.  She would die by his hands around her throat, slowly and painfully.
Botan seemed to know that her death was imminent, too.  She avoided his gaze guiltily, trying to shrink and hide behind you.
But no matter — when the match ended and she attempted to run off after Yusuke and Keiko, Hiei cornered her in the dim hall, his eyes glowing an irritated red.
“Oh!  Hiei, it’s you!  How — ah, how grand.”  She laughed uncomfortably, and even when his eyes narrowed in further aggravation, she opted to continue, saying, “ So, um, congratulations on your win!  You guys have some really great momentum right now!”
“Shut up,” he snapped, stepping toward her.  “Why the hell did you bring them here?  Are you that stupid or do you have a death wish?”
At his accusation, she found her voice, arguing back, “Now, listen here, Hiei; that was not, at all, my fault!  I told them they couldn’t come, but they followed me anyways!  And I don’t even know how Yukina got here!”
The vein on his forehead throbbed at the fact that she even thought any of that was a viable excuse.
“Fool, you couldn’t even tell someone was following you?  Are you sure you even deserve the title of Grim Reaper?”
She threw her hands up, exasperated.  “Okay!  Okay, I’m sorry,” she said.  “But they’re here now and making me feel bad isn’t going to change that!  They just wanted to come support everyone; is that such a crime?  You should’ve heard the way [Name] was asking about you.”  At that, Botan immediately grinned, clasping her hands together excitedly as if she wasn’t a foot away from him wrestling with the desire to impale her on his sword.  “It was very cute, actually.  Me and Keiko —”
He scowled.  “Shut up.  I don’t care.”
Botan wouldn’t understand.  Even if her feeble brain had half the capacity needed to, she still wouldn’t be able smell the scent on you, the sweetness in your blood.  On the other hand, every low-life demon in that stadium would be able to sense it the moment you took a wrong step and cut yourself trying to break your fall — because of course you would, of fucking course — and as much as he wanted to slaughter everyone in that stadium, it wasn’t ideal to have you in the middle of it.
“Watch them,” Hiei warned, “both of them — or I’ll kill you.”  With his threat delivered, he disappeared in a quick flash.
“Is Kurama the only one in this group who can say please?”
02.
Hiei wasn’t sentimental.  He wasn’t affectionate.  He wasn’t kind or generous, and he was definitely the type to swing first and completely disregard the questioning part.  Perhaps what was worse: he wasn’t interested being any of it.
But he could be heroic.  He saved a baby bird once, catching it just as it had fallen out of its nest on the branch beside him.  He had saved you multiple of times — from the man that had pinned you down, from the demon that had licked your blood, from the car that had wildly drifted in the rain.
He could be considerate, too.  Every time you shivered, he took a seat near you wordlessly, the heat from his body quickly warming you up.  Botan always joked about needing the Mystic Whistle, but you saw how he hovered or hid nearby, never far out of the group’s reach.
He could be soft: giving you his cloak after finding you in the rain, pulling up your blanket when he thought no one else was looking.
And at night, right before dawn, when it was just you and him together, the wisps of sleep still clouding his mind, his fingers searched for yours.  You knew because you always felt the bed shift with his weight.  You knew because your hand was always warm when you woke up, the heat lingering against your skin like fading, flickering embers.
So, it didn’t come as a surprise that Botan came to you, complaining that you had gotten her in trouble with Hiei because of your little sneaking antics.
“Oh, please, he’s just being dramatic,” you said, laughing.
“[Name]!  You didn’t see the look in his eyes!” Botan whined.  “I mean…I’m pretty sure he wasn’t going to kill me — but, you know, it definitely felt like a 50/50 sort of situation. His fingers even twitched for his sword, [Name]!”
“He wasn’t gonna do shit!”  You snickered.
There was a sudden thump behind you, the sound of someone landing.  You tilted your head back and saw Hiei peering down at you, eyes narrowed in his usual level of annoyance — maybe a little more so, since whenever you were involved, you seemed to too easily raise his blood pressure.  (Some would say it was a talent.)
Botan laughed nervously and you smiled innocently.
“I see you both have a death wish,” he growled.
03.
It was the smallest of paper cuts, but the scent of your blood bubbling at the open wound was enough to bring thirteen demons to the hall.
One of them, a creature mixed between wolf and ogre, raised its long snout into the air and took a deep breath.  “Is this you, human?” it snarled, its upper lip vibrating against its long teeth.  “This sweet smell?”
“Shit!”  Without another thought, you turned and dashed down the hall.  Hiei’s room was one of these, you were sure, and the stampede of creatures behind you would definitely catch his attention.  You simply needed to run until he arrived — but, of course, you fell.
Your next step landed wrong, your foot twisting.  You sent your body tumbling forward with a horde of demons right at your back.  When you instinctively looked back, your vision was immediately overcome by sharp fangs and gleaming claws, each creature slobbering in a desperation to get a taste of your blood.
Shing!
A sword sang through the air in front of you, cutting the wolf ogre straight down the middle.  Blood splattered the walls and the cloaked figure standing between you and the demons.
“It’s Hiei from Team Urameshi,” one of the demons whispered, yellow eyes darting between him standing before them with a gleaming sword and you on the ground, your smell still so tantalizing.
“Go on,” Hiei goaded.  “If you think you can take me on.  I’m sure your screams will make great lullabies for the hotel guests.”
He wasn’t arrogant, but calm and confident.  It disturbed them; you could see the fear flickering in their eyes, darting between his smirk, his bandaged arm, and his sword.  They took a step back hesitantly, and though they glanced at you longingly, none of them wanted to risk it.  Hiei quickly stepped to the side, obstructing their view and forcing them to look at him instead.
“I’m getting bored.  Make your decision or I’ll make it for you.”  He pointed the bloodied sword at them.
There was a beat where they all weighed their options — and then one demon turned around, and then the next one. Soon, they were all disappearing around the corner and out of Hiei’s range.
You let out a breath that you hadn’t realized you were holding in, falling to the floor.
Hiei stepped over to you.  When you opened your eyes, you were greeted with an irritated stare, to which you could only grin cheekily.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Hiei asked.
“I was looking for your room,” you said.
“You passed it, idiot.”  He looked around and then narrowed his eyes.  “Where’s Botan?”
You got to your feet, brushing the dust off your shirt and pants, and said, “She fell asleep.”
Hiei’s eye twitched.  He turned away, muttering something about Botan being only useful for torturous experiments.  Then, he turned his red gaze and fiery ire onto you.  “What the hell did I tell you about being careful?”
You shrugged.  “Um, to be careful, I guess?”
“You’re surrounded by thousands of demons who would rip you open at any chance they get,” he hissed.  “And now you’ve effectively taped a sign to your back saying, eat me.  Do you expect me to fight and babysit you?”
“It’ll be fine,” you said.  “I won’t trip again.”
He glared at you.  “Not the point.”
You thought you could see a flash of concern hidden under all that annoyance, but maybe that was just a flash of his irritation moving into anger.  When he turned away without another word, heading back to his room at a speed that allowed you to follow, you thought optimistically that it was, perhaps, the former rather than the latter.
04.
When you rolled over for the third time in fifteen minutes, you heard an irked sigh.
“Go to sleep.”
“I’m trying,” you muttered.  “The bed isn’t as comfortable as it looks.”
You let out your own sigh, rolling over again until you were facing Hiei.
The room was dark, save for a faint glowing of the night through the window; and it was cold, save for the faint heat of Hiei beside you.  While you were under the covers, he sat atop the blankets, leaning back against the headboard.
You inched a little closer to him, breathing in his sandalwood scent and his warmth.
You wondered what the others would think if they could see the scene.  You wondered if they would believe you if you had told them — the great Hiei had a little place in his chest for you.
“Hey…”  You poked his thigh gently.  “Are you nervous?”
“Why the hell would I be nervous?”  He sounded almost offended.
“Lots of strong-looking demons,” you noted.  “I’d be scared.”
“I’m not a weakling like you are.”
You poked his thigh again.  “Ouch, that’s unnecessary.”
“Stop touching me and go to sleep,” he snapped.
“Yeah, yeah.”  You yawned, stretching out your arms and legs.  As you settled back under the sheets, you inched closer to him, close enough that your nose was centimeters away, close enough that, when he uncrossed his arms to rest his hands on the bed, his fingers were on top of your hair.
Your eyes fluttered closed.  “Be careful out there,” you mumbled.  “I’m not as strong as you, like you so often like to point out, so don’t give me any heart attacks.”
“Hn.”
He shifted; you felt his fingers tangle in your [color] strands.
After a while, he said, “Don’t fall again.  I won’t save you a second time.”
You smiled, hiding a snicker.  “Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Hiei.”
He didn’t respond.  Lulled by the exhaustion of the day and the warmth of his body, you began to fall asleep.  The bed shifted again.  In the dark, you felt another tired body slip in next to you, familiar fingers finding your own.
05.
You jerked awake in the middle of the night, a drained groan turning into a sleepy yawn.  You unhooked your fingers from Hiei’s and slipped out of the bed.  When your eyes adjusted to the dark, you made your way to the bathroom.
You wondered what time it was; there wasn't any light outside.  As much as you wanted to see Team Urameshi kick ass and go home, you wouldn’t mind a few more hours in bed with Hiei.  He was so stubbornly aloof that this wasn’t as frequent an occurrence as it should’ve been.
When you finished, you washed your hands and headed back toward the bed — and screamed when you saw Hiei’s glowing red eyes.
“Christ!”  You clutched at your chest, your heart beating rapid-fire.  “I was just using the bathroom.”
He grunted, laying back down.  When you made it back to the bed, you slipped under the covers beside him, enveloped once again by his sandalwood heat.  You yawned, feeling the clutches of sleep at the edges of your mind.
You rolled onto your side so that you were facing his back.  “Were you worried?” you whispered.
“Go to sleep,” came the reply, dusted in a sleepy annoyance even at this time of night.
Hesitantly, unsure if you would break whatever generous mood he was in, you touched his back gently.  When he didn’t react, you moved closer, your hands against his thin shirt until your body was pressed against his — not heavily or lustfully, but delicately, the way you would touch a baby bird, the way you would cradle a flower with a snapped stem in your palm.
If his heart beat like yours, would it beat quickly?
“Good night, Hiei.”
You fell asleep easily against him.
In the morning, you woke up in the bed alone.  The space beside you still hummed with heat as though you had missed Hiei’s exit by just a few seconds, as though he had stayed until the very last moment, warmed by your body and breath in a way you knew he wasn’t used to, but hoped that he longed for.

I absolutely love your fics. Can you please do be mine with Hiei x Reader? I appreciate it.
{Candy Heart Prompts: OFFICIALLY CLOSED!}
AWW! Thank you friend! :) I appreciate it! I've gotcha covered with some good ol' Hiei x Reader! :D
“Smile!”
“No.”
“Why?” You pouted at Hiei, putting on your best puppy eyes.
“Cause I don’t smile when I’m told to.” He gruffed back, immune. You leaned in, refusing to let him look away. “Try all you want, it’s not gonna work.”
“Come on, please? Just one? For me?” You pleaded, your pout intensifying when he merely raised an eyebrow. “What if I smile with you? We can do it together!”
“You’re always smiling.”
“Cause you make me smile.” That got a small reaction- his eyes widened some before he returned to his usual stoic frown. “Oh, I saw something there!”
“Yeah, a hallucination.”
“Oh that is IT! Come here!” Faster than he expected, you tackled Hiei into the ground, grabbing his sides and kneading rapidly. “I’ll get you smiling! Take this!”
“Hmmph!” Hiei made a gruntled noise before clamming his mouth shut, grabbing at your hands. He wasn’t fighting that hard though, you noticed with glee. “(Y/N), h-hang on!”
“What’s wrong? Does it tickle? Is the great Hiei ticklish?” You cooed, watching his cheeks begin to pinken from exertion. “Let it out- you know you want to laugh.”
“Hmm-hmhmhmhmhph!” Muffled giggles could be heard the further back you moved along his ribs, scritching along his spine. Eventually, the dam broke- leaving the small demon giggling like a child. “Shihiihihihiiht!”
“Gotcha!” You cheered, drinking in his smiling cheeks as Hiei laughed and squirmed beneath you, feet kicking and dragging in the dirt as he failed to curl up. “Look at that- you’re smiling so much! How cute!”
“Shuuhuuht yooyohoohhur mohoohohuth, huhuhuhuman!” Hiei cried, cheeks hot and eyes squeezed shut with mirth. “Iihihihihll gehhehehehet yoohohoohou bahahhhack!”
“I bet you will.” You teased, keeping one hand on that terrible spot along the back of his ribs while your other hand squeezed along his upper ribs, making him howl. “For now though- it’s my turn!”

An unusual proposal (Oneshot)
It's been a while since I wrote in english, so please bear with me if this is not perfect. English is not my first language ;-;
Oh and this time it's a female Half!Demon/Human Reader x Kurama. Just to let you know! Again as warning, much much fluff between you and Kurama.
The Dark Tournament was looking forward to its grand finale.
Team Toguro faced Team Urameshi, consisting of Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei and Kurama. Their fifth member, Mask, or rather Genkai, was 'killed' in battle by the younger Toguro brother the night before. Although you and your friends mourned about your deceased comrade, the others were not allowed to give in to their feelings now. One single mistake could result in the next death, everyone knew that.
You hadn't left your friend's side since the beginning of the Tournament and you were even allowed to stay at their side near the battle field. Though now you were concerned about the last battle.   You had asked to stand in for Mask as the fifth participant, but before you were able to speak to the competition officials, you were prevented from doing so by your friends, mostly Yusuke and especially Kurama. It was a lengthy and exhausting discussion that followed with the two of them. Yusuke was anything but calm and tried to dissuade you from your idea with irrelevant threats for "beating the shit out of you if you continue to try to participate". Of course he would never lay a finger on a friend, especially not if he were to draw the wrath of a certain fox on him ..
Speaking of the fox. It was Kurama's empathetic and factually convincing words that finally led you to abandon your idea and not take part in the fight. As much as you hated not being able to stand by your friends, it was clear to you aswell that you would not survive 2 minutes in the ring against a member of this diabolical team from Toguro .. It was just maddening ..
Before the fight started, you cleared your throat to attract the attention of your friends.
"Before you fight, I want to get rid of something .." you began and looked at the ground slightly.
"Spit it out, [Y/n]-chan." Kuwabara tried with a calm and understanding tone of voice to reassure you that none of them were mad at you for your earlier discussions. He thought that, because you were trembling all over and he could also tell that you were fighting back tears.
"I want you .. to be extra careful this time .. Your opponents are of a completely different caliber than all your opponents before .. And if ..Uh.. when you notice that you .. can't do it .. that you. . " you stopped, the thought of what should follow your sentence stung your heart. "... you will die if you keep going .. I beg you to give up .. just give up and end the fight .. Fuck this stupid tournament, your lives are way too precious ..!" you spoke a little louder and more determined as you looked at your four friends.
Hiei's expression was disinterested as always. Kuwabara looked away, slightly embarrassed, while Kurama had put on an illegible expression. Yusuke crossed his arms before briefly closing his eyes.
"Sorry, but we can't promise that." he said then.
"W-What ..?"
When you looked up, startled, you felt a hand on your shoulder. It was Yusuke's.
"If we give up, everything was in vain. Our training, the preliminary fights. And ... also the death of that old witch ... The least we owe her is to try to defeat her killer." He continued serious, but his face showed no sign of annoyance or anger towards you. He showed you .. friendliness and a small smile. "Anyway, thank you for taking care of us all. With that knowledge, we can do our best," he added.
"B-But .." your quiet objections were stopped again when Kurama took Yusuke's place and put both hands on your shoulders. A slightly worried smile graced his pale lips.
"Yusuke is right. If we give up here, everything we have been through so far will be wasted. Besides .." he continued and his expression darkened slightly as he looked at his opponents, especially at Karasu. "..we can't allow these .. monsters to continue their mischief to continue their murders in the world of spirits, demons and humans. If we don't stop them, who should do it?" he asked you.
You didn't know the answer and looked to the side. Kurama smiled sadly and put his hand on your cheek to turn your face back to him.
"Just trust us, okay?" He said softly and lovingly before placing a gentle kiss on your lips.
"Kurama .. I trust you. But I'm still scared okay ..?"
"That's perfectly okay." The redhead whispered and you sighed softly.
"I'm serious. I don't want to go through the same fear that I did during your fight against Bakken ..."
"Mhm .."
[Flashback]
The battle against the members of Team Masho had reached worrying proportions after Kurama lost consciousness while standing shortly after he was named as the victor in the battle against the ice demon Touya by Koto. The rules of this match were like an endless battle. As long as a member could fight, he fought against any opponent. This is exactly how he had defeated Gama at first and was able to win against Touya with the last of his strength. But now the luck of the kitsune seemed to have run out when he stood bleeding and unconscious on the battlefield and Koto checked whether he was still alive.
"That's enough now! I'll take over for Kurama!" Yusuke called to the judge when the third opponent, a tall, dark-skinned man with short black hair, stepped out.
"Not so fast. That guy is still there, so I'm his opponent now." The shinobi grinned maliciously and was already flexing his fists.
"You can't be serious! You can see that he is not able to fight!" You said and looked angry at Bakken.
"You stay out of it, you brat. I say: He can fight." With these words he turned to Koto, who looked back and forth between the two parties, perplexed.
"Well .. Well .. I also think that Kurama is incapacitated. We have to wait for the decision of the competition committee before an exchange takes place .." the cat demon spoke uncertainly.
All attention was then turned to the speakers when the committee announced its decision. They disagreed with the exchange and declared Kurama's ability to fight.
Yusuke and you had to watch in shock when Bakken started hit the unconscious Kurama again and again and injured him so badly that it was a miracle if he could survive this ordeal for long. When Bakken pulled Kurama up by his top and beat him again, the fabric on the top tore and Kurama fell to the ground. Blood ran down his forehead.
While you could only watch in shock, the stadium echoed under the calls of the demonic audience, who very unanimously demanded only one thing.
"Kill him!"
"Kill him, Bakken!"
"Yes, kill this traitor !!!"
You clenched your fists in anger before turning to the bleachers.
"SHUT UP YOUR DAMN MOUTHS ALREADY!" you shouted so loudly that the stadium fell silent and Yusuke and the others looked at you too. "I CAN'T STAND YOUR HATE TIRADS ANYMORE! The next one who says anything about 'kill this bastard' will get a free ticket to hell from me. WAS THAT CLEAR?"
Your friends had seldom seen you so loud and serious. The girls, Botan, Shizuru, Keiko and Yukino were very shocked by your exclamation.
Suddenly one of the demons jumped down from the stands and stood next to you.
"Pretty loose mouth for such a shitty, weak half-breed, darling."the green-colored beast grinned and licked its lips with its iguana-like tongue. "You are nothing but a shabby one demon, who has human blood in them. It doesn't surprise me that you are on the traitors side. But don't open your mouth like that if you know what's good for you. " He threatened you.
Your eyebrow twitched menacingly as the demon extended its claws and tried to slit your stomach. You reached for your weapons,  chakrams, and a reddish-orange aura flooded the metal, your Reiki, mixed with Yoki. The audience held their breath when they could only hear lightning-fast cuts and white clouds of energy sliced the demon that was attacking you until the attacker fell dead to the ground.
"Anyone else has something to say to a " failed half-breed "? you asked the ranks, but the audience fell silent before you could finally devote yourself to the fighting again.
"T-That's enough! Kurama is on the ground and can no longer fight! I think a countdown is also unnecessary .." Koto interrupted the scene now when she saw the battered Kurama.
Bakken seemed to disagree and lifted Kurama up in the air again by his top.
"Now he's standing again. That means the fight goes on."the black-haired man smirked and wanted to make the final punch that should blow out Kurama's life light forever.
"Stop. That's enough, Bakken." a masked figure behind Bakken, another member of Team Mascho, spoke up.
"Why are you stopping me, Risho? I was just about to finish it." Bakken grumbled while Risho pointed to the opposite side of the arena.
"If you had landed this punch, that would have been your death." Risho spoke only dryly, while Bakken blinked and looked in the direction in which Risho was pointing.
Yusuke and you stood there, both of you in your strongest attacking postures. Yusuke was ready to use his "Rei-Gun" while your chakrams had turned into icy-tessen (Metal fans), the tips of their spikes were reinforced with your Reiki and turned into razor-sharp blades that could be shot individually. You were both ready to kill Bakken if he made any move.
"Tch. Fine. Well, you can have him back." Bakken sighed and threw Kurama carelessly out of the ring. Yusuke and you immediately rushed to the passed out Kitsune and Yusuke carried him to the edge of the ring. You were right behind him. After Yusuke dropped him off, you kneeled down at Kurama's side and looked up your human best friend.
"Yusuke." You spoke in a serious tone. Yusuke turned to you. questioningly. "... Beat the shit out of him. Hit that asshole really hard with a greeting from me." You muttered with bared teeth. Yusuke grinned and gave you a thumbs-up.
"Rely on me, [Y/n]. I will make sure that he gets a proper rubdown. And greetings from you. Just take care of our Kurama." Yusuke answered with a wink.
You nodded gently and put your hands on Kurama's damaged chest to let your Reiki flow into his body. That should give him enough energy to activate his own self-healing powers. At least that was how it prevented him from having too little energy.
He almost died ..
When Kurama woke up a little later, he promised you to never again risk his life so lightly.
[End of flashback]
"Remember your promise." you said softly and took Kurama's hand in yours to give it an affectionate squeeze. The fox just looked at you apologetically, but he was weighing whether he could really tell you that he couldn't keep this promise.
"I'm sorry. This may be my first promise, which I can't keep, as much as I would like to. But ..." he began before you could sigh in frustration. Kurama smiled and put a strand of hair behind your ear. "I'll give you a new promise for that." He said and made you blink in curiousity.
"One that you will keep?" you asked.
Kurama smiled and pulled you close for a moment.
"Yes. I promise you, if I survive my fight against Karasu .." he almost sounded as if he didn't believe in it himself, which only unsettled you even more. "... I will take you as my wife as soon as my human body is 18 years old."
Your eyes widened, speechless, at these words. Kurama, who had sworn off love and certainly did not want to settle down in the human world, had just given you the promise of marriage if he should emerge victorious from the battle ..
"K-Kurama .." you started, touched, when the Kitsune put his index and middle fingers on your lips and gently shook his head.
"I have to go into the ring now." He said, because the referee Juri had to call his name again.
Kurama broke away from you and went to the battlefield, where Karasu was already waiting for him. You held your breath as the fight began. It was going to be the hardest fight of all time for him, you were sure of it.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
The fight was clearly dominated by Karasu for a long time, who seemed to foresee every one of Kurama's steps. His rosewhip basically crumbled to dust before it could hit Karasu due to a miniature bomb that the black-haired man had already placed. Knowing that Kurama would resort to his signature attack.
Even the transformation into his Youko form only briefly gave Kurama the upper hand in this fight.
Karasu was strong, incredibly strong. Kurama was already bleeding profusely on his legs and arms from the bombs that hit his flesh. The transformation into his demon form had already reached its limits. Now everything seemed to be over for the redhead when he went down and his robe was already completely bathed in red blood.
It was a horrible sight, almost worse than Bakken's back then. Kurama stopped moving when Karasu tried to put an end to it.
With the very last of his strength, Kurama was able to mobilize his last reserves and thus also make his Reiki to zero when he conjured up a large, gray plant. Shortly afterwards he sagged dead and his friends, as well as you, cried out in agony.
"KURAMA!"
Karasu stopped. Not because he thought his opponent was dead, but because something had pierced his chest. Everyone stared in disbelief at the three vines of the plant that Kurama had conjured up with his last strength. They seemed to suck out Karasus blood.
"What is happening?" Kuwabara asked in disbelief.
"The plant sucks out its blood. Like a vampire." You explained and looked a little more composed again. Apparently you knew this technique. Since dated Kurama, the others weren't surprised.
Before the crowd could properly process what had happened, Karasu fell to the ground. His skin was pale from massive blood loss and his eyes were blank and torn. He was dead.
But what about Kurama?
Kurama opened his eyes. The bleeding wounds had closed again as if by a miracle and he straightened up slightly wobbly. Did the vampire plant fed him with the blood of his victim to save his life? It was the only logical explanation.
Tears now ran down your cheeks. No tears of sadness, tears of infinite joy. He was alive. Kurama had kept his promise and survived this fight.
Without hesitation for a second, after Juri made him the winner, you ran onto the battlefield and threw Kurama to the ground in a stormy embrace. The Redhead was unprepared for the impact and lost balance when you buried your face in the crook of his neck.
"Idiot. Idiot idiot idiot." You repeated several times, still sobbing slightly. This kitsune almost seemed to enjoy causing you so much grief by letting himself be beaten up in every fight.
Kurama smiled gently and caressed your back soothingly.
"Ssh. Everything is fine.", He whispered and heard only briefly loud sobs before you pulled away from him and stared at him.
"DO. THAT. NEVER. AGAIN." You warned and if Kurama wasn't grinning at you so sweetly, your anger would also come across convincingly. Instead, you just sighed softly and patted him gently on the shoulder. "But you also have to keep your promise," you added.
"Don't worry, I will." Kurama chuckled and turned to Yusuke with a hand sign. You blinked perplexed when Yusuke grinned and threw a small velvet box to him. Out of the corner of your eye you could see that it was a box with a beautifully decorated rose on the lid.
"Kurama .."
Kurama got on one knee and took your hand in his.
"I should do this formally and properly, don't you think?" He laughed and you suddenly realized something.
"... You already planned everything in advance, right ...?" You wanted to know.
Kurama gave a small laugh and kissed your palm lovingly before looking intensely into your eyes.
"Quite possible. No, but .. I've never met a woman like you in my life - and that applies to my human and demonic life - and I never expected to lose my heart to someone who makes me as happy as you. "
"Kurama .."
Kurama smirked when you didn't let him finish and cleared his throat to continue.
"Originally I wanted to stay in the human world because my mother and my friends were so close to my heart. But now there is another reason why I don't want to leave this world anymore. I want you by my side until the end of my days and ... start a family with you. In the human world. That is why I ask you, here and now, [First Name] [Last Name], do you want to be my wife and eternal mate? ", He asked and opened the box. Inside it was the most beautiful diamond ring you ever saw. Its sides were adorned with two beautiful jewels, a shiny [gem with your eye color] and a shimmering emerald. It was more than obvious that these jewels symbolized the eye colors of the both of you.
"Yes .. Yes, I want Kurama. Of course I want that!" You said overjoyed and let a smiling Kurama put the ring on your finger before he pulled you to him and kissed you passionately.
"U-Unbelievable! A marriage proposal during the final of the Dark Tournament! I've never seen anything like it!"Koto announced, she sat in the crowd as the second announcer and looked dreamily at the engaged couple.
You smiled and looked at the ring.
"So beautiful. But something's missing," you mumbled.
"Huh?", Kurama asked and you turned to him and grinned slightly.
"A topaz." You answered with a smile.
Now Kurama was the one whose eyes widened and he even blushed a little.
A topaz as golden as Youko Kurama's eyes. His demon form.
Now he was more certain than ever. He would never let you go again. He swore to himself.
