i thought i should continue APHO2 right before i got super busy. i didn’t get that far in the story, but i did end up doing through a lot of the side stories that i piled up from raising friendship through the adventure tasks!

if i recall correctly, his story and welt’s as well as the sky people were first introduced in the alien space manga. i also sort of skimmed that manga, but it’s so cool that it’s like a prequel to APHO

i’m not sure if this whole thing will play a role in honkai star rail (which, by the way, is releasing in 2-3 days at the time of this post!!! i’m super excited about it), but i do know void archives appears in welt’s star rail splash art

(... this isn’t directly related to honkai but fun fact... lucheni was first mentioned in that one voice recording in APHO, and at that time i just finished watching tkrz elisabeth 2016, and that is the ONLY reason i know about the origin of the name lucheni)

this is the moment i realized that the current event, meow town, was the origin of the susannah and stan vlog series?! it was so surreal to see timido talk about stuff like valkyries on their days off and lewis and stuff... APHO2 was written how long ago?! and meow town just happened this patch! 

it’s really cool, i felt the connectivity of honkai story just now...

seems like lots of events in general are connecting too, and this patch is really an interlude into APHO events. like “kitty” being carole, and lyle on the moon base being, well, lyle...!

... now i want to see a grown up seele and susannah...!

i reached the end of my APHO2 screenshots... yes, i ended up leaving the story uncompleted yet again... according to my achievements list, i think i still have 2 more story parts to go through. hopefully i get to complete it soon!

i ended up not screencapping/saving a lot of conversations, but APHO2 dialogue is honestly so funny... i really love the main gang. lyle especially is great

this event is so wholesome, i love it T___T just susannah and her role models cheering her on! also some things that got revealed in this event SHOCKED me for reasons i’ll explain in the next post

-- ok, now that i reached the end of the event reaction summary, i have one thing to add... at the time i completed the event, i didn’t finish APHO2 story yet (i was up to a task where i had to break some rubilite in the old st fontain, and then i stopped) so i had no idea about the significance of this reveal that susannah and stan started a vlog series

but...! this event is about the origin of that!!! that’s so cool! q(≧▽≦q)

first time clearing 2.5x difficulty!! this took long because i have skill issue, but towards the second half of the run i started clearing floors really quickly 😳 she is fun!!! i did basic attack spam, which is more engaging than i expected

it's been a long time since i last posted, but since FoV is out, i have to come back! (don't worry, i'm still deep in the hoyo pit, i just burned out on social media for a bit...)

extremely happy with how my garuda hua pulls went! (≧∇≦人) after a really long period of saving, i managed to get her SS rank with 4/4 gear! i took her for a whirl in ER and i'm delighted with her performance, she's fun and flexible! i like to start with a evade -> attack for a cool and satisfying parry ԅ(¯﹃¯ԅ)

(when i saw the parry gameplay in the trailer, i knew i had to commit to SS... thank goodness for the expa supply bonus boxes for saving my crystals. i still have some left over for part 2!)

speaking of part 2, i'm excited for it because coralie is einstein's adopted daughter and is so cute... i'm always hungering for more anti entropy so i'm already invested in her and whatever relationships might occur between the new main crew. there's already a prologue out for part 2 (i think!) so i'm looking forward to it!

HONKAI ARTBOOK VOLUME 2 SECURED!!! q(≧▽≦q)

still about 7380 books left when i exchanged mine~

also i was GLB server-wide ranking #54... 😳

it was a bit stressful because i realized i was JUST barely missing the 600 day mission advantage. i'm really glad they gave the option of clearing the mission by retaining redlotus. i ended up doing that but had to miss a couple of tokens due to not being able to clear all 3 floors... i was missing about 75 tokens when everyone was able to trade on monday! ∑( 口 ||

luckily, the next part of the current event opened up much earlier than friday abyss, so i completed that for the 4000 lone star mission! at that point, the artbook was secured! 💪 it also helps a lot that the server is much slower... maybe it's because the missions are a bit stricter than last year's

i'm really glad they gave us the chance to get it for free again, it's a really lovely way to reward dedicated fans :') excited to complete the artbook collection!

excited to jump into the first chapter of part 1.5! 

welcome back to nagazora! i really love the mood of this place, it’s perfect to me. i think this one area and arc city really solidified honkai’s setting in my mind as something genshin can’t give. it made me glad to be playing honkai!

susannah is so funny. it was fun watching her antics, but seele isn’t having any of it 😂

honkai dev team has really improved their motion tracking for character animations! they aren’t using stock animations as much and their bodies and eyes are so much more animated. very cool!

the roost is the coolest area to me, especially when you climb the stairs and get to see the rest of the flooded sunken city really high up. what’s that feeling...

after this part i got too absorbed in the gameplay portion of the chapter to take screenshots, but i really loved the “detective” moments in this game! i felt like a genius whenever i selected the correct answers when interrogating the bald guy 💪 

i want more! eagerly waiting for the next part! who is incognito?! what’s with the faceless incognito leader?! and the biggest question of all... where is red seele?!?!?! i miss her and wanted to see how she’d react to susannah...!

i really wanted to full-gear her when she was first announced and i dropped those plans when prometheus was announced, but in the end... i can’t resist SP gear discounts... 

by the way, all the gears were obtained with a couple of days in between them because i was waffling about so hard on whether to full gear her or not 

now to save for prometheus’s gear! an even juicier discount!!! (also desperately saving for whenever fu hua gets a new battlesuit hehehe...)

it’s been a while! i was stewing in my thoughts and emotions for the duration of the chapter release. i have a lot of feelings... i only began this journey january 2022, much later than other captains, but i’m still touched by the story i got to witness! 

i took scattered screenshots as i played and i’ll try to recall some thoughts i had during those times. it won’t encompass all my feelings on the chapter, but i just know that i’m extremely satisfied. my heart is full after seeing the journey of these girls (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

this screenshot was taken right when the chapter dropped. i didn’t realize it, but after completing the chapter, the moon becomes fractured! that’s such a cool detail. i’m going to miss this bridge and its ominous bgm

i REAAAALLY enjoy the philosophy that they brought up in this part. i engaged with other media before that deals with whether it’s right or wrong to determine the fate of all of humanity, even if they’re suffering, etc etc. 

i loved the stories that they walked us through and the different ways kevin and theresa tackled these scenarios. it’s not wrong to find respite in a sweet dream, whether you’re someone escaping your responsibilities or someone at the end of the rope, but it’s definitely at the sacrifice of something really important. what meaning is there in success and fulfillment achieved in an imagined fantasy? even if some people deserve a sweet dream, like the old man at the beach, it’s wrong to force this trap upon all of humanity. 

as someone who knows about the theory of the cave, i kinda screamed at this dialogue haha... let’s gooo fu hua

OH YEAH, i really enjoyed the kevin deep dive into his psyche with the philosopher stuff. he’s such an interesting character. i can’t say i have a 100% grasp on his mindset, but he has... tragic determination that’s destined to end in flames, and countless failures before achieving a single victory... i really like it. he’s just a guy.

THIS WAS REALLY THE HYPEST FIGHT OF ALL TIME (exaggeration)

i’m still reeling from how cool it was. two characters who are extremely self assured in their strength, in their strongest respective domains!!!!

this is a secret but i actually wasn’t a big fan of HoS before i met her in the story. it’s not really about her character or personality, but how fans treated her character _(:з)∠)_ luckily she grew on me a lot in this arc and now she’s a favorite. i love her cockiness!!!

they made this fight SO GOOD?! how did they do it?! it really makes you root for senti, and it’s just so cool how the cards keep getting revealed and you can’t tell who has the upper hand. and when senti, super powerful, desires to obliterate and dominate everything and impose her will, just simply can’t in the face of kevin’s sheer strength... it’s just so exciting.

GARUDA FU HUA IS SO FREAKIN COOL I’M DYING

i know a lot of people have issues with ai hyperion, but if you imagine that she’s ai chan, her integration in the story makes more sense and is actually really heartwarming. now i kinda wish they went with the smaller ai chan model for more emotional impact, but i understand that her comical nature might have interrupted the mood which is a storytelling risk that they didn’t want to take

i���m not saying it’s the right interpretation, but if you view it like the game’s beloved mascot acknowledging the players, it’s really sweet. i felt the dev’s intentions through ai 👍

GYAAAAAAAA MY HONKAI ARTBOOK CAMEEEEEEEEE FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

i was waiting anxiously because everyone was getting theirs since a week ago and i really didn’t want to miss it... i’m really happy it arrived safely!!! it’s a HUGE book and the bubble wrap is thick and sturdy so you don’t have to worry about the book getting damaged 

about the book content, the text is actually translated to english! the presentation is stunning as ever with a lot of fun touches on the text. every page was beautiful and fresh, and there was a wonderful mix of in-game artwork and interesting concept arts for battlesuits and outfits. it really makes you wonder what could’ve been. for example, there’s some concepts where mobius didn’t have a snake motif... ∑( 口 || can’t imagine it...

many thanks to mihoyo for the opportunity to get the artbook for free! (≧▽≦) the artwork and design of honkai is one of a kind and i’m grateful to witness it!
