the last paragraph from this post by @khajiiti-dragonborn finally gave me an epiphany on why I find tes more interesting than other, better rpgs, and it’s exactly BECAUSE they dont answer any of their own questions. They propose interesting ideas (sometimes as a complete accident!) and then don’t develop them or follow them through to completion or they give an extremely unsatisfactory answer. And as a storyteller that compels me SO MUCH because it leaves me with a jumping off point and a world with pre existing lore to work in. Its like being given a prompt, but it’s even better than that because video games are an interactive medium so I can go IN GAME and hunt down locations and lore and random tidbits of dialogue to help fill the gaps, gathering inspiration as I go. (and then fulfill my lifelong purpose of writing toxic women about it)
#hi sorry for randomly tagging you I didnt want to derail your post with this unrelated ramble fjdjskks#additionally I think the uesp does a lot of leg work for my tes obsession#because when I want specific info I cant get myself I can look it up immediately#and continue my thought process#we are SO spoiled as a community by the uesp#possibly this is stupid and obvious but I’ve been dancing around the words to explain my thoughts for sooo long so. I’m posting it anyway.#if you dear reader are thinking yeah duh then consider this personal catharsis and keep a-scrollin
