#ASTROAD - my experience
I know we’re all a bit weak and emotional over the ending of the first day of #ASTROADinSeoul, but I just wanted to put in my ten cents about Astro (as if I don’t already lololol).
I’m sure most, if not all of us, just went through a bloody emotional rollercoaster on Twitter with the incredibly kind Arohas updating us by live-tweeting about the concert and allowing us to experience some inch of it from the comforts of our couches and beds, tens and thousands of kilometres away from South Korea. We all heard about the boys wearing all white (god bless) and Moonbin (and JInwoo, later oh my GOD) not wearing a shiRT (I basically combusted), Minhyuk bringing back the sleeveless tank /screams into the void, Myungjun exposing his smooth shaved leg (what a sight to behold), Sanha and his confetti tears, Dongmin being the Piano Maestro he is, playing his way into our hearts with Innocent Love. And last but not least, their ments at the end where eventually, they all kind of cried (and so did I, so did I). They told us how thankful they were and some of the worries they had, and most, if not all of us collectively sobbed when Jinwoo started crying, and then Dongmin, who expressed his worries and how we all cried because he is definitely, definitely not a burden to Astro or us at all. When Myungjun teared up, I think the rest of us who were trying to hold back our waterworks in vain, also cracked, and I hit the last straw when Bin’s voice wavered during his ment.
Their love and gratitude to us is infinite, and so is ours to them.
They’re always sending us messages of hope and support through all forms of social media be it through the fancafe, Vlive, Twitter (no matter how butchered it comes out after Twitter translates it), and our blessed Arohas who never fail to come through with the multitude of translations for the rest of us around the world.
Astro are constantly expressing their gratitude, pride and complete adoration for us, for providing them with all of these opportunities and experiences, which is really the result of their hard work, talent and modesty, as well as a myriad of other things. They don’t give themselves enough credit for what they’ve worked so hard to achieve. From planning and creating various performances every week during Rising Star, to acting in To Be Continued, again performing as Astro during the Meet U Project, to debuting and fast-forward a year, coming out with an official lightstick (Robongie~) and performing at their first solo concert. It amazes me how far they’ve come, and how much further they’re going to go in the future.
I consider myself to be a fairly new Aroha, only really getting into them at the beginning of this year after one fated Confession performance, and a few variety programs and Vlives, yet my love for them is immeasurable and this concert further reminded me. I’m sure a lot of you guys can relate :’))
I wasn’t here to witness Thankx Aroha or their debut showcase, but if it was anything like a few hours ago, then goodness gracious me, kudos to you for making it here without bawling your eyes out the whole way through.
We are always going to be our boys’ pillars of support, hype men and women, and their source of motivation. So, the least we can do is continue to be that for them, for many more ASTROADS and solo concerts in the future. Whether you’re an international fan, or a national fan, your words of support and love are felt and appreciated to the same extent. Remember that you’re appreciated by the Astro + Aroha community for your fancams, fansite photos and videos, gifs, updates, memes (oh lordy thank you), text posts, gfx edits, fanart, translations, appreciation posts (haha who what me? no!), tweets, fanfiction, fancafe tutorials, and many, many more things that you provide for us :)) You guys are the very base of the fandom and you don’t get appreciated enough!
Enough of me, more of you! I’m only speaking from my ‘experience’ so if there’s something I missed in this monster of a post, feel free to add on! I’d love to hear what you have to say as well <33
