Recovered GAIA yesterday, Cauldron MU today... I feel like I'm doing well. Having so much fun with the new mechanics too (grappling, diving, general pullcaster shenanigans, using the ingniter, etc...)

Fun facts:
- Guerrilla Games World Designer Dennis Micka was assigned this cauldron in addition to Iota, Chi and Kappa. He named them to reflect the initials of his last name (originally there was another cauldron that got cut for production reasons).
- Cauldron Mu was the first and largest of his cauldrons.

i finally finished a video i've been meaning to make for a long time! if you like cauldrons you might enjoy watching it :)
#horizon forbidden west#hfw#hfw cauldrons#video#video link#hiiiiiii i'm alive (sorta)#not at home and haven't had great internet but i finally got to work on this video#i've had the footage hanging around for like a year+ then lost half the files and just found them the other day#so i sat down and put it together#it's my first time doing any real audio editing/mixing/whatever so uh pls be nice#i think it turned out pretty good! mostly how i envisioned#i wanted to do animated titles for each cauldron (way back on my blog you might find the one i did for MU) but it was too much work T_T#maybe someday...#(ughhh i hate making thumbnails. something always covers up my text no matter where i put it)

i Attempted Something to go with some out-of-bounds video i collected
(does it look any good? similar enough vibe to horizon’s intro?)

Cauldron Iota 1/5
After going around the greater Salt Bite lake area for the first time, it happened to be night. I peered down at the most perplexing sight: a big blue glow coming out of the ground... What the heck?!
I relished descending into Cauldron Iota, one of my 2 favorite cauldrons in HFW, how the dark and mysterious cave opened up into a vast cavern of noise and metal!
I love the unwelcoming industrial atmosphere of cauldrons, but this is where the sacred Tallnecks are made!💖🥰
Fun facts:
- Cauldron Iota was damaged by an earthquake brought on by the environmental instabilities caused by the subfunction derangement.
- They built this cauldron backwards, knowing they wanted to end with the Tallneck coming up from the ground.
- Originally they had the player adding more parts but in the interest of flow, those parts were cut and just assembling the iconic head was the task.
- Guerrilla Games World Designer Dennis Micka was assigned this cauldron in addition to Mu, Chi and Kappa. He named them to reflect the initials of his last name (originally there was another cauldron that got cut for production reasons).
- In all of Dennis's cauldrons there is a distinct openable Easter egg Zelda door with specific dialogue and Triforce symbol!

#horizon forbidden west#hfw#cauldron iota#hfw photomode#i just.#love everything about this cauldron#i had a fun time in mu#which was the first one i played in hfw#and honestly kind of dreaded because aside from the visuals#and the soundtrack#and the story told through it#i really hated to PLAY through epsilon#recycling chamber my absolute beloathed#and originally mu looked to be the same#just even more elaborate#but it was fun!#jumping the arms with the music timed to it was just amazing#and i came out of it with the biggest dumbest smile on my face#but iota surpassed that by far#the tallneck setpiece was amazing in its own#and while i was somewhat glad it seemed i could leave quickly#and sighed when the tallneck appeared to be blocking the platform#the ending of it just made it worth it
