I drew the aftermath of an rp writing scene bc I had some brainworms I needed to exorcise. It doesn't make a lot of sense without the context, but I tried to include some kind of explanation from the pov of the witch who acts as Hescrates' patron. This would be some time into the events of the game, where they would each have some respect for the other's skills, but not trust.

#astarion #hescrates #since I likely won't have time to draw everything I'd like I'll explain some of the subtext #i'd prefer that art speaks for itself but yknow life just be like that #hescrates catches his first manipulation but not the second #which is that he didn't intend to return the ring at a later time #he was keeping it as a distraction in case he fell out of their good graces #which is exactly what happened here #hescrates has a hair trigger temper especially for things related to the trade with the witch and being shitty tyrant is their go-to reflex #i also wanted to turn hurt/comfort on its head a bit. here the intimacy does not help #and it was not intended to help #instead the thing that deescalates it is a familiar object #one that astarion doesn't realize the significance of #artpost #comic
