CANNOT stop thinking about the deltarune-rgu parallels. what if you were a doll without a heart but everyone likes you better when you're not yourself so it's okay (it's not)
yesss themes of agency & existential systemic oppression via The Narrative!!!! I like how kris and ralsei (by extension most darkners but him most prominently) are two different facets of this forcible dehumanization. kris has their agency literally taken from them and is projected on by the player, but strongly resists this (though probably has self-worth and identity issues.) meanwhile ralsei is over there rosebriding it up, telling the player that it's fine to mistreat him, treating himself as a tool, and otherwise doing his very best to fulfill his role as a cute and friendly partner to assist us on our journey. something something utenas approach to being forcibly made into a princess vs anthys approach to being the rose bride. person who is being made into a Thing and does not really want to be one despite getting social approval for it versus somebody who has been a Thing for so long that they do not have a sense of identity outside of it
also Narrative Roles as a facet of oppression thats always so juicy. shakes rgu and deltarune together in a container
#deltarune HAS to end with revolutionizing the world it HAS to#im like always insane about this. unfortunately my insanity is limited only to discord DMs and the rare tumblr DM. sadge!#always thinking about ralsei and how he interacts with his own oppressive role especially. he sees his own salvation in it#when its so fundamentally limiting & dehumanizing to be what he is#hes so sincere about it too. nanami coded?#depends on how aware he is of the player IMO. i like the interpretation that hes more jaded + meta aware than he seems personally#sorry for the blob of text. im too tired to be coherent and youve activated my autism trap card#rgu#deltarune

what do you think jjk men will be like in a haunted house with you?
since its October now its fitting to talk about halloween :D
qn for u!! do you like horror movies?
i personally wanna like em but im so scared of em :/ esp the jumpscares i hate em but surprisingly i can watch a gory zombie movie without a single flinch its so weird but it only starts and stops at zombie movies. i cant watch any other types of gory movies <\3
Not me sending an ask just as I got thisđ but ok ok here we go<3

Gojo Satoru:
Pretends to be fazed, emphasis on âpretendsâ because when I say he exaggerates everything? I mean it.
I mean, heâs Satoru you knowâobviously he isnât getting âscaredâ of anything but he doesnât let that ruin the vibe for him.
Heâs so very obnoxious too- complaining about the price of the tickets and making innuendos about you loudlyâpoking fun at the staff, all in all, punch worthy.
Inside the house? All the more. For the darkness only ever encourages satoru to cop a feel on you here and thereâblaming it all on the âbrokensms and shittyâ decoration
. Heâs a menace through and through so when bored, mid way in the house heâs already on a mission to jump scare the jump-scares â and it works so well, youâre clutching yourself, coughing out broken laughs and heâs entertained tooâa win-win situation.
Also starts giving âtipsâ to the staff onto how to make it successful.
If you ever let out a high pitched scream heâll try to make you scream louder later, heâs stupid like that.
Geto Suguru:
âŚwhy him? Like donât get me wrong per se but he finds it all so stupid? But to make you happy, suguru geto will comply.
Ps. Suguru is the kind to hook you free tickets just somehow, like he will, donât question it.
ALWAYS THE GENTLEMAN!!! He will forever hold you close, how so ever less scary it may be and always leads the way and hold your hand. Heâs coded that way, nothing can be changed.
Laughs when finally, just finally a jump scare goes past his reflexes and pops out on you guys, surprising him slightly. He will steal it.
Also I think suguru is the kind who is slightly dumb ânot obviously but like, he doesnât get some jumpscaresâjust doesnât get it. So when you guys will be walking out, heâll just go âOH,â
he sincerely doesnât give two fucks about the haunted house but when you get out, he will ask you if you liked it or no and if you wanted to try that again.
Nanami Kento:
âIf you wanted to be scared, I could just show you the amount of work I have pending,â i headcanon that itâs a task in itself to get him to go because ??? Just bake some pretty cookies for yourself Lmao.
Nanami Kento pays full price and through out the way heâs calculating the number of jumpscares that come your way and to see just how much he was charged.
Yeah, Nanami seems scarier than those stupid dressed up guys - especially when youâre trying your best to hold your laugh when a guy thinks Nanami was the jumpscare.
But but but, however mad, he doesnât break the codesâholds you close, and anytime he feels something is about to happen, he shields you with his body.
And like imagine their is booby trap on the ground (have you guys been to those?) and you notice it before him and help him get away from it? Instant head pats. Bet my ass Nanami is the kind to always and always avoid haunted house from now on and makes you repay in same way *wink wink* afterwards

I was gonna add Sukuna and others too but ehehehe

Komamami would be interesting, whether platonic or romantically
Anon I sure hope you meant Komaeda/Amami and not Komaeda/Nanami because I went ham on this.
Itâs not platonic or romantic, but I did think itâd be fun to write Pregame AU for once.
Ao3 Link Here.
When it comes to survival, there are all kinds of stats and skills at play. Whether it be offense, defense, evasion, stealth, strategy, so on and so forth. This is why as heâs filling out the form, thereâs a lot to think about.
âThere are talents that act as bolsters for strength,â he muses. He taps the application paper before him. âBut wouldnât it be better if you had a talent for charisma? In that case, itâd be easier to gather up allies as well as pawns.â
Of course, there was one stat that so easily flipped things regardless of skill.
Luck.
In the second killing game, the one who defeated Ultimate Despair had been Ultimate Luck, later dubbed the appropriate Ultimate Hope. It set the stage for the rest of the franchise, and a good number of contestants salivated at the chance to be the next Ultimate Hope. That sort of wishful entitlement only grew with Danganronpaâs popularity. Even at his own school, Naegi Makoto had been a symbol to aspire towards.
While he did think Naegi Makoto was fine, he didnât forget about the other Ultimate Luck.
Komaeda Nagito more accurately encompassed what others turned out as in their pursuits of Ultimate Hope. Desperate, simpering, frantic, helpless, hopelessâthe kind of person the most and worst suited for destruction.
Someone who still couldnât help but survive regardless of their efforts. A puppet on a string dragged from place to place, manipulated with ease even as it squirmed and struggled.
Someone like that represented others well, despite themselves.
He didnât resent them. He didnât have any ill feelings towards Komaeda Nagito. If anything, that brand of incessant survival was the main appeal. Among...other things.
--
âIn the end, thereâs no increase or decrease of hope as the show goes on,â he says. âItâs just a dreary cycle at this point and one we canât escape but canât imagine life without.â
âGeez,â Shirogane pouts at him. âWhen you put it that way, it sounds a little despairing!â
âItâs not despair,â he corrected. âMore...complacency.â
âThatâs even worse!â
âKomaeda Nagito was pretty complacent, wasnât he?â he asks. âDespite framing his aspirations and efforts as intended to evoke hope, all he was doing was playing to the tune of the crumbling world around him. There were justifications to be made, of course. Canât have hope without overcoming despair. Canât know happiness without sorrow. Canât know light without darkness. Regardless of the journey, as long as you reach your destination...â
âAah, stop, stop!â Shirogane waved her hands frantically. âI donât care! I really donât!â
âGeez,â he mimicked her before. âI thought you were a Danganronpa superfan, Shirogane-san.â
âI am, I am,â she insisted. âBut, you know, thereâs just... Thatâs a way of thinking that I donât care for.â
âBecause it exposes the artifice?â he can only smile. âHonestly, I like that about Komaeda Nagito. Naegi Makoto is too...sincere for me.â
And for the rest of the world, for that matter. Itâs Komaeda who is more realistic.
âYouâre way too cynical for Danganronpa!â Shirogane exclaimed with an accusatory finger. âIn that case, why even join?!â
âAhahaha. Well, it is either this or nothing. Everything else is quite boring. I guess you can blame it on the fact that Iâm aimless.â Tilting his head back, rubbing his nape, he couldnât help but smile blankly at the dreary ceiling. Even with Shiroganeâs bright personality, there was no undercutting this monotony. It was no wonder anyone would fixate on Danganronpa, especially those more anxious. Like Shirogane. âI guess for me, itâs about...the experience. The adventure, you know?â
Shirogane harrumphed, unimpressed.
âThen, you better not die first.â
Sheâs not looking at him anymore, but the tightening in her face suggests that sheâs quite upset. So upset that he almost wants to reassure her, but he doesnât even try to reach for her. Itâs like he canât even muster up the energy.
Yeah, he thinks blandly, unimpressed with himself. I need the experience.
--
In the waiting period, he does slip on the VR. He slips it on his head, lays back, flicks the switch, and opens his eyes.
Itâs an eternal summer sun above, with Komaeda Nagito peering down at him.
âHeyâcan you hear me? Are you alright?â
It should be meaningless. Just a video game character reciting the same lines of text. No variation, no matter how many times the game gets rebooted. Everythingâincluding this person was just lines of code locked in a purgatory of repetition, all at the mercy of mere clicks of the button.
He clicks through, and eventually, Komaeda Nagito reaches out. Offers his hand. Itâs not to him, not really. Even in this position, heâs all too aware that heâs just playing another mindless character. One that grips Komaeda Nagitoâs hand uncomfortably tight and pulls himself up. One that justâlike everyone else in this worldâjust wants to feel special and important.
Itâs pitiful, really, but when Komaeda Nagito gives a sweet, reassuring, calming smile...
He feels something.
--
âHave you submitted your application?â
He doesnât know why Shirogane would inquire this beyond boredom. He offers her a wry smile, and it just causes her face to scrunch up. Her brow furrows for good measure.
âIâm asking because Iâm curious,â she said. âI need to know what Iâm potentially working with! Not that Iâm going to give you special treatment even with our history.â
âI donât expect you to,â he laughed without amusement. âWe never did get along. Weâre not really friends.â
âBecause your attitude is unpleasant,â she said; as if that were a defense. As if this strained relationship needed any kind of justification. He found himself wishing that Shirogane would just take things in stride sometimes. But, Shirogane has more to press, âCan you tell me what you put down?â
âAmami Rantarou,â was his reply. âHow does that sound?â
Her face just sours more.
âI was thinking Ultimate Adventurer, maybe?â he goes on. âJust becauseâI do care more about the journey than the ending. I was thinking about Ultimate Luck, yes, but I have no delusions of grandeur, so...â
âIâll say,â Shirogane muttered. âIf I had it my way, youâd die first. The way Komaeda Nagito meant to. I think itâd suit you!â
He shrugged, but was there any point in denying it?
Stillâwhat was up with Shiroganeâs expression?
âYou wouldnât even be a good sacrifice,â sheâs mumbling now, barely audible. âYouâre just...too miserable, cynical, and untrusting.â
All he had to offer was yet another (worthless, hopeless, but calm and easy) smile.
