Very much inspired by this !!
—
Phantasm crashed into the side of a building, the rest of his team- the TeenTitans- stayed back. They were otherwise occupied, with the rest of the H.I.V.E. five attacking them.
They'd gotten a new member, one with a similar, nearly identical power set of their own new member.
Phantom.
Phantasm and Phantom, two mirror look alikes, they went absolutely feral whenever one was in sight. It was driving Robin mad, Beast Boy had joked about cloning but after they started to actually consider that option.
"Well, well, well." Phantom mocks, glowing green to Phantasm's red.
"Shut. The fuck. Up." Phantasm charges again, throwing the other into windows with a growl.
They kept bickering, hitting and injuring each other, until—
"Stop being so annoying!" Phantasm shouts, baring his fangs. Phantom, in return, stuck his tongue out.
"You're just jealous I got the Villain role!!"
At this point, their respective teams had called a draw and watched them fighting.
"You're a lousy villain!"
"I'm having the time of my life beating the shit out of you actually."
"I'm calling jazz."
At that, Phantom starts glaring. "I thought we agreed on not bringing this up to our sister?"

Touya’s been slumming it on the streets for a while now. Pick pocketing here and there, even mugging and robbery in desperate times.
He’s eyeing a couple walking down the alleyway, deciding they look like good enough targets.
You and your sort-of-ex-boyfriend have finally gotten together to grab lunch after some time separated. You consider maybe giving him another chance, after all, he really didn’t mean to steal $200 from your bank account to spend on Onlyfans.
You pause in the alleyway as another figure approaches you. Before he can even finish his sentence, “Hand over your wallet—” your boyfriend pushes you forward, you falling to the ground in front of the attacker.
Touya pauses watching the absolute pansy of a man high-tail it out of the alleyway, you sitting on the ground also watching him scramble back out to the street.
Did he piss himself?
You slowly turn your gaze to the pierced man. He looks down at you, pity on his face as he holds out his hand to you.
You take his hand, standing up. “I don’t have much.” you begin.
“Nah, forget it.” Touya replies.
“If you don’t mind me asking, what do you need the money for?” you ask.
He hesitates for a moment.
Why would you care?
“Food.” Touya says.
You pause, looking down at the bag that carried your now definitely ex-boyfriend’s leftovers. You hand it over to him.
“Here. It’s soba.” you say.
Touya takes the bag, looking it over. “Thanks…”
You nod and turn to exit the alleyway.
“What’s your name?” Touya asks.
You turn back, “Y/n… yours?”
Touya pauses for a moment, he’s been going by the name Dabi for a few months now, but for some reason when he opened his mouth— “Touya.”
You give a soft smile, “Enjoy your soba, Touya.”
Touya nods in response and watches you as you leave the alleyway.
Why did he tell you his real name? Why did it sound so sweet when you said it?
“Y/n…” he repeats, your name tasting just as sweet on his tongue.
“Y/n?!” A man calls out, Touya seeing the ex-boyfriend poking his head into the alleyway. Touya’s eyes narrow and he walks towards the man, his hand igniting in blue flame.
Names are so special.
The man screams in agony as the smell of burned flesh fills the air, blue flames eating him alive.
He doesn’t deserve to say your name anymore.

𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧'𝐬 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
yandere!villain x hero!reader
tw: Yandere theme, dark theme, obsession, violence, an: I was obsessed with villains having love interests for heroes, so I wrote for myself, hehe. sorry for being inactive for days I just enjoy the season of radiance in sky so I didn't get to continue writing this and I have 4 drafts now waiting and my class starts on Thursday.
He shouldn't form love, he shouldn't fall to his enemy, the hero, you.
One time when he was nearly death after he fought one of his rivals, when the gun was almost going to shoot him then you came into action and fought the rival of his then made them unconscious.
And you look at him in his hopeless state and then fall unconscious. After that you brought him to your place and healed him, you don't know why you're doing this but you're returning the favor when he also saves you from one of your enemies.
You know he is also one of your enemies but you are too kind-hearted and help him instead.
After healing him, he was awake and shocked to see you behind him watching him then he got up from your bed and looked at you with a serious face then left without a word.
Did he just leave without saying thank you jeez.
...
After a week now, he is behind the building watching you working at a small restaurant in front where he standing he watches you carefully and admires how hardworking you are and forgets that you are a hero to this world.
He didn't mind and forgot you being a hero, he wanted you to take your attention to him after you saved him he began to develop mysterious feelings then he started to dream about you and have hallucinations of you and that can't take his thinks of you.
He was going feral obsession.
He wanted to get you and grabbed you close to him and say how you make him like this, how you make your own enemy be like this to you, he would kidnap you and lock you in his place like a porcelain doll.
But it's not the time to let that happen, he gonna wait for the right time to get you fully to him.
How many weeks did he stalk you everywhere you went and watch you work, when some man tried to talk to you or wanted to get your number he went berserk and mysteriously killed the man and that caught your attention why every time a man you talk to, dies tomorrow.
And now he is standing behind the building admiring you as you see someone get inside the restaurant and see your friend guy as he hugs you and sits in front of you as you continue cooking.
As the villain keeps his eyes on you and then on the guy as you two talk and laugh, you are not being with him but he feels like you are not allowed to be with other men like you are owned by him, you are actually soon.
When your friend guy finished eating he got up and made a call sign to call him if you need anything you nodded and he said goodbye and got out of the restaurant.
The villain noticed it and wanted that friend guy of yours to vanish and you never meet him again, he took out the phone from his pocket and called someone after talking through his phone he hung up and put his both hands in his pocket as he admires you lastly and walks away, he has a plan.
...
After your work, your boss gives you the salary and you thank him and he pats your head, he is like a father figure to you so you two are very close.
As you said goodbye to him and to your other co-workers, you got out of the restaurant and walked through the street.
While walking you hear your phone notif and you take your phone out from your bag and see an unknown number on your screen you press the message, and it sends a voice message you click to play.
- Looks like your cat is in trouble *meow*
You hear a deep voice after the sentence the sound of your cat can be heard then the voice ends.
You immediately start running through the street, after a minute you reach your house it's not far from where you work.
You quickly ran towards your door and you opened it you tried to click the lights but to no avail is the electricity was out again.
You immediately went towards your bedroom and saw a person sitting on your bed while holding your cat.
"How much you really care for your precious kitten" you heard a low deep voice you saw your cat lying in their arms, and you heard a purr as you sensed their comfortable being in their arms.
"Who are you?" You ask as you prepare yourself to put your powers but then you hear chuckles.
"Don't worry I won't do anything bad, I'm not the villain who always does bad and I need peace too?" the person said and the curtain flowed from the wind the window was opened and the moon was casting inside your room.
Then you saw their face, it was the villain who saved you and the one you saved, you let your guard down a bit and he slowly carefully put the cat on your bed then he used his power to let the cat sleep, you gasped and looked at him.
"You should lock the window before you go, my love," he said and you looked at him confused as you heard the last word.
"Ha I know this is stupid," he said as he looked at you with a serious face but there was something he admired and wanted to get it.
"After I saved I was full of guilt why would I save a person who wants to kill me, the person who was actually my enemy I don't know why I did it, you are also with this kind of thinking too?" he said and he chuckled to what he just said.
You just looked at him, yes he was right you have also been thinking about why you saved him in the first place, he was your enemy, the villain yet you saved the person who was going to destroy the world.
"To be honest... I was going crazy when I had those fake imaginations of you there beside me" he said and he got up slowly walking towards you.
"Seeing you stand in front of me staring at me like you want something," he said as he walked circle to you while his eyes locked on you.
You want to run but your cat is there, If you run towards your bed and get your cat he can quickly grab you and it's stupid if you're going to leave your precious cat.
"So much in mind, my love," he said as he said that word again as you kept your eyes on your cat sleeping peacefully in your bed.
Till he moves closer to you, you feel his breaths on your ear, "As much I want to kill you right now" he slowly says and you suddenly feel his hands on your hair as he slowly takes a strand and circles it with his finger.
"I want to keep you" he whispered to your ear and you heard a swoosh sound as you immediately knew he was using his power.
You quickly kneel down and use your telekinesis to move the chair to hit him as he backs away from you and you quickly grab and carry your cat out of the room.
You run towards the other room and use your telekinesis to close the door and lock it, you run towards the window to unlock it but it won't budge as you see a dark smoke thing, he uses his powers to lock your house.
You put your cat still sleeping in the armchair as you think of escape you look at the window once again you can't get out since there are window bars as you get the idea, you look at the window and focus your both hands on the window glass as you manage to break it and you do it to the window bars as it slowly moving out and manage it to break it too.
Before you could grab your cat the door was busted open and saw him as your worst villain, it really made him even worse.
You try to fight him back by moving the furniture to hit him but he gets it and move away from him as you keep doing it till he wraps dark smoke around your wrist and you fall down to the ground.
"You really want to hurt your cat," he said as he walked to you and grabbed your both wrists making you get up from the ground he used the dark smoke to carry your cat as you both walked towards the living room.
He pushed you to the sofa and before you could get up a fair of smoke tied your both feet you looked at him, as he carefully put the cat slowly in the armchair behind, your cat still sleeping.
He turns around to face you he looks at your innocent self sitting on the sofa as you look up at him, "Don't worry your cat is fine, I'll let him sleep for long hours, cats loved sleeping right?" he says as he stares at you.
"I've seen this before," he said as he chuckled suddenly a phone rang and he looked in his pockets took his phone, and answered it.
While he talks on his phone you look around your house to find something to help you out here, when your eyes land on a black box and you look confused at it.
Then you realize your phone is still in your pocket so you slowly take it as you look up at him still on his phone his back in your view, you look at his back he has this muscle back that can clearly be seen from his black polo shirt as you stare at it you shake your head and turn back to get your phone, are you stupid right now.
When you manage to let your phone out, you press your friend's guy number and dial as it starts to vibrate your phone, you hear a sudden ringing and you slowly look up at him and he turns around to face you again he is done talking, and takes another phone from his pocket and you saw your name on your friend's phone.
Your eyes widen and as you stare at your friend's phone, you slowly look up to him "What did you do to him!!?" You ask him more like you scream.
"He was really annoying," he said as he put the phone behind the box, you looked at him scared, scared of what happened to your friend.
"Answer me, God damn it!" You yelled at him and he looked at you his amused face turning slowly into annoyed and serious, why do you want your friend? He keeps asking in his head.
His hand reaches to the box behind him and slowly opens as you look at his movements then slowly grab inside, your eyes widen to see half of it, and scream.
"Stop! Stop!" You turn your head down as you see half of your friend's head, he beheaded him, no no no.
The villain put the head back in the box and closed it, he looked at your shocked expression as you started to cry.
"No no don't cry" he kneeled down to you and grabbed your face to look at him as he wiped your tears, "He was in our way I don't want anyone to get us" he added as he stared at your teary eyes.
"Stop please" you whisper as your eyes get teary you try to move your head away from his hands, and he removes his hand from your head.
You look at him furious full of anger, and you feel the rage inside you, he sees your expression those innocent, rage eyes looking at him it makes him even more impressed and wants you more he loves seeing you hopeless and vulnerable, he wants to kiss that lips of yours.
You look away from his gaze and try to move an object to hit him but he quickly realizes you have that ability and grabs your head with both hands and suddenly catches your lips.
He finally devours that lips of yours, he is been waiting for this as he keep dreaming of you together with him and now he is reaching those dreams right now.
While kissing you, you whimpered trying to struggle and move your head away from him but he gripped your face to him, as he stopped you felt dizzy and tired slowly losing vision, did he use something to make you feel dizziness.
You saw dark smoke again as he used his power to make you dizzy, any minute you fell asleep.
Now you fall unconscious he moves your hair strands away from your face as he admires your vulnerable self.
He finally made his dreams true he can't wait for you to be with him, even if you don't want to he will find and look for a way to make you fully be with him. He is now more obsessed with you.
That's what the villain wants, to do terrible things to reach their goals, and you were his goal after all.

The hero is taking their nephew trick-or-treating tonight for the first time, and they’re a bit nervous. Their nephew, Danny, is a great kid and well-behaved. The hero just isn’t used to acting as a guardian.
But as the afternoon begins, they start to relax as they see how much fun Danny is having. They watch as he runs up to a rather nice house, returning moments later with candy.
Then the hero sees the homeowner motion for them to come closer. They see that familiar form—almost seeming misplaced in civilian clothing—and their heart drops. Out of all the people they could’ve encountered… they just had to find the villain.
Gritting their teeth, the hero tells their nephew to run to the next house and stay within eyesight… before they walk up to the doorstep of the villain’s house.
“I didn’t realize you had a child,” the villain hums casually.
“Don’t,” the hero warns them.
“What?” The villain asks, having the audacity to look offended. “It was just an observation.” They blink innocently.
“He’s my nephew.” The hero spits out. They must be doing a bad job of hiding their distrust, because the villain sighs theatrically.
“Trust me, if I were up to something, you’d know,” the villain huffs. “Besides, I have… other priorities tonight.” They glance to the side and, in a few seconds, a child heads towards the doorway. The hero blinks. This must be the villain’s child.
“Um. Hi.” The hero says awkwardly, still reeling from the realization that the villain has a child.
The kid has the same eyes and nose as their parent. The resemblance is startling. “That’s a bad hero costume,” they remark helpfully. “You’re missing the amulet.”
They are missing their amulet, ironically. The hero self-consciously puts a hand to their collarbone before sighing. The villain looks endlessly amused, and also a bit wary of them—as if worried about their behavior in front of their child. The hero resists an eye roll at that, before glancing down the sidewalk. Their nephew is running back to them, bouncing on his heels impatiently as he evidently wonders what’s taking them so long.
“Hi,” the hero greets their nephew, placing a hand on his shoulder. He settles down a little, but still looks eager to go to the next house.
“Hi.” He answers. Then he looks curiously at the other child and smiles at them. The villain’s child smiles ever so slightly in response. The hero studies them for a moment, taking in those familiar hazel eyes on someone far more innocent and pure hearted than their enemy. Then they notice the kid’s costume and the slight frown on their lips and wonder if the villain has taken them trick or treating yet. It doesn’t look like it, actually—and that would explain the envious glances the kid is shooting at Danny.
“You know,” the hero says, crossing their arms over their chest. They’re already making the offer before they can think about it. “I was going to take Danny here trick-or-treating anyways… I’d be happy to take your child too.”
The villain studies them for a long, long time. The tense silence is only broken by a movement from the child at their side, who hesitates for a moment before crossing the threshold of the doorway and standing next to Danny.
“Do you want to go with them, Kel?” The villain asks; their child nods brightly in response. The villain lets out a long-suffering sigh, turning their attention to the hero. “Very well. I’m trusting you to ensure their safety.”
“Of course,” the hero responds sincerely. “I’ll have them back by curfew at 7.”
“6:30,” the villain argues.
The hero squints at them skeptically, before glancing down at their watch. It’s only 4:45 p.m. That’s plenty of time. “Fine.” They agree.
“If anything happens to them-” The villain starts.
“I know,” the hero interjects, before they can utter any threats in front of the children.
“I’m trusting you,” their enemy repeats gravely. “Don’t make me regret it.”
The hero nods, understanding just how much faith the villain is placing in them. Then an idea comes to mind. “Get your phone out.” The villain stares at them for a moment, before doing as requested. From there, the hero gives them their phone number. Then they reach into their own pocket and turn their phone’s ringer on. “Okay?” They ask, looking at them pointedly. The message is clear: Call me if you need anything.
The villain is staring at them with a complex expression on their face. “Okay.” They respond. Then they look to their child. “Have fun, alright?”
With that, the hero turns their back on the villain and watches as their nephew and their enemy’s child excitedly race ahead to the next house. They can feel the villain’s gaze watching them, even as they turn the corner and head out of sight.

Very silly Togachako idea based off AU where Inko ends adopting entire league if villains before they become villains, Momma Inko cutting off all of their tragic backstories and they are all 1 chaotic family.
Toga going into general education at UA and attending with Izuku her going to bother him and seeing Ochako and instant crush.
Toga taking Izuku's form occasionally (like once because he was sick and worried about missing class and just totally falling deeper in love) and occasionally does it just to figure out if she likes her.
Izuku bursting into class 1-a like 'STOP STEALING MY BLOOD' and confusing everyone but Bakugou, he knows about all the Midoriya siblings.
Izuku: That's it i'm telling mom you keep pretending to be and snaking into class because you have a crush
Himiko: If you do i'm telling Tomura and the others you have a crush on 'kaa-chan'
Izuku: You wouldn't
Himiko: If I'm going i'm taking you with me
The sports festival being the two of them flirting, and Himiko cheering her on, deeply offending Izuku.
Also all of the siblings doing shovel talk and being very protective of their baby siblings.
Just Uraraka showing up to drop off something for Izuku and meeting the league of older siblings.

“Oh my god—“
“Not quite, love” The antagonist smirked. “If you ask nicely, however, I may be inclined to play along.”
“You’re—“
“A villain, yes.”
The protagonist tried to stop their hands from shaking as the antagonist looked them up and down.
“Why are you in my neighborhood bodega?” The protagonist said finally, and the villain quirked a brow.
“Even famous people need to eat,” the antagonist tucked their hands into their exquisitely tailored suit.
The bag of chips in the protagonists grip crinkled, and the villain inspected them.
“Not the healthiest choice.”
They gave an unamused laugh. “The cheapest.”
The antagonist’s eyes ran over their face, as if taking in their slightly gaunt cheeks.
“Heroism doesn’t pay well, it seems.”
The protagonist looked them up and down.
“Villainy does, it seems.”
At that, the antagonist chuckled, eyes glimmering like they had finally found something to peak their interest.
Behind them, the check out counter beeped and spit out a receipt, which the antagonist promptly crumpled and threw away.
“I’ll be watching,” they said with a nonchalance that did not match the threat of stalking, and disappeared out the sliding doors.
The protagonist stood in front of the machine, slightly awe struck and slightly afraid, until a clerk sidled up to them.
“Old friend?” The clerk asked.
The protagonist glanced over at them, then back towards the door.
“Not quite,” they answered.
They paid for their chips and left, hands pink with cold by the time they got to their apartment.
Attached to their door was an cream colored envelope full of money, and a note in elegant handwriting that simply said “Buy yourself more groceries. Your fridge is a tragedy.”
The protagonist never quite got rid of the antagonist after that.

Why is asking permission for certain things, both romantic and platonic, one of the cutest, most heart-fluttering things ever?
"Can I hold your hand?"
"Can I kiss you?"
"Would you like me to carry your jacket?"
"Can I hug you?"
"Would it be alright if we cuddled?"
"Can I play with your hair?"
"Might I walk you home?"
"Can I tickle you?
"Is it okay if I kiss you goodbye?"
"Can I hold onto your arm while we walk?"
"Can I rest my head on your shoulder?"
"Is it okay if I call you (nickname)?"
"I'd really like to kiss you right now, if that's okay with you,"
"Would you let me take care of you?"

After pestering him for days, you finally convince Dabi to pierce your tongue.
Beforehand, he’s taunting you the whole time saying “It’s gonna hurt really bad— are you sure you still want to?” getting a kick out of seeing you nervous.
However, once it’s time for the act, he’s surprisingly gentle as he tilts your head to face him just right and he directs you on what to do. His voice is soft, but stern.
“Stop moving.”
You start to realize how intimate this all is once he’s up close to you, lining up the needle. The two of you catch eyes for a moment, “Take a deep breath for me… and breathe out.” as he pushes the needle through, securing the jewelry in place. You blink a few times, not even realizing it’s over.
“Not so bad, huh?” he asks, putting aside all the tools while you look in the mirror.
You go to ask him what he thinks about it, but barely get the question out before he’s kissing you — something he was fighting the urge to do the entire time.

Static's Girl
This is a Secret Santa Snippet for @esperosisdoeswriting!! Merry Christmas, Esper, I hope you like it!!! Her prompt was villain dad who' loves his small child and is not afraid to kill ppl over it!
TW: Blood, violence, mention of needles
“Our target is a child?” The horror in Blythe’s voice seemed loud, even past the pound of blood pulsing in her ears.
Fellow members of the hero’s team poured into the back of the van, one strong-arming a terrified little girl. Her wrists were bound, mouth covered and tears streaking her cheeks. The child kicked and thrashed with pink-booted feet, legs dangling helplessly above the floor of the car where the hero’s sidekick kept her firmly hoisted in the air.
She looked barely older than 7.
Blythe’s protest was suitably ignored as the team shouted instructions at one another. The back doors slammed shut and the van lurched into action. Passengers plunged themselves into their seats.
“Are you crazy?” Blythe hissed. She stood only to stagger into the side window as the vehicle made a sharp turn. “This is crazy! Why are we kidnapping a child?!”
“Bosses orders,” another said, as if it were the simplest thing in the world.
Mockingbird said “Jump” and they said, “How high?” That was just the way of things, wasn’t it? It had never concerned Blythe before–their leader was a just one.
But now…
The child’s knees were muddied and scuffed. As if she'd fallen. As if she'd run. She squealed panicked cries against the sidekick's palm.
Blythe's stomach bottomed out and pooled again with a honey-slick dread. “Who is she?”
“Static's kid,” the driver called back. Blythe caught a shiver skating through them in the corner of her eye.
“Static's ki- I must be missing something, are you crazy?” She rounded on Mockingbird's sidekick once more. “You said we were retrieving a powered weapon that could bring Static down!”
He blinked at her as if she were exceptionally slow. “That's what she is.”
Blythe shook her head, feeling an angry tremor seize her bones. “She's a little girl, is what she is.”
Blythe startled as the radio station crackled to life, flipping noisily through channels. The driver cursed and mashed at a button. Clicking on his coms device, he spoke aloud as his free hand yanked the wheel into another screechy turn.
“On our way back with the package in hand, Boss.”
Mockingbird's sidekick yelped and dropped the girl, a red welt forming on their palm where it had pressed against her mouth. The child hit the floor and scrambled on her knees to an empty corner.
The driver's eyes lit the rearview mirror. “What's–” He hissed and ripped his earpiece away from his head as it fizzled with blaring static loud enough for the rest of the van to hear. “Hey- She's interfering with our coms!”
“Probably trying to reach her father,” another in the front seat agreed. She pointedly shut the radio off as it flitted through stations of chatter and music once more.
The child’s nose was bleeding. Had it been doing that before?
“Somebody knock her out already!”
The sidekick sighed and lifted a hand. All-consuming shadows danced at his fingertips seeming to choke the air around it.
“Don't.” Blythe hurled herself in front of Static's daughter. Her eyes tingled with a familiar heat that told her they were glowing, power teeming just beneath the surface.
They stared at each other in a terse stalemate.
The sidekick’s teeth clenched.
“Listen, rookie–”
“We do not threaten children, and we certainly do not hurt them.” Blythe was proud of how steady she managed to keep her voice–firm and leaving no room for argument.
She still wanted to cry a little. How had this become her life?
Little hands grabbed at her from behind and a warm face pressed into her back. Then, a tiny sob. Blythe softened.
“You're okay, sweetpea, it's alright,” she crooned. Blythe turned to take the child gently in her arms, gathering her close in her lap. “Shh, it's alright. I won't let anyone hurt you. I promise.”
The sidekick's seething was palpable, gaze cleaving cleanly through her, but he finally sat back down.
An eternity later, they were back at the base. Blythe had smacked away any hands reaching to grab the child away from her, carrying the girl inside herself. The little one’s legs wound around her waist like a koala, bound hands clutching fistfuls of Blythe’s shirt fabric.
Blythe’s thoughts felt scattered as TV static. She moved on autopilot, only coming back to herself when the sterile-white lights of the laboratory hummed over them.
Mockingbird was there, black curls cascading freely over her shoulders and contrasting with the icy gray of her eyes. They were not particularly kind eyes, but Blythe had always thought the hero to be good, at least.
“Boss,” Blythe heard herself speak. She cleared her throat. “What exactly are we doing here? Why did we take this kid?”
Mockingbird gestured toward the lab table. “Put her there. We need her blood.”
Blythe’s eyes widened. “Her blood?”
“We are going to use her cells to create a power inhibitor for her father and a power replicator to dose myself with. When he comes to retrieve her, we inject him with it. He won’t act out when he knows we have his daughter. And with his own powers used against him, he’ll never escape again.”
Blythe’s voice came out croaky. “I think you’re putting an awful lot of faith in the self-control of the most powerful supervillain we’ve ever encountered. When we’ve taken his only child. And stabbed her with needles.”
Static’s daughter tightened around her. Blythe glanced down and murmured a soft apology against her ear.
“I don’t care,” Mockingbird snapped. It was clipped with a danger Blythe had never felt aimed at her before. It now felt like a knife against her soft underbelly, as silver and glinting as the superhero’s eyes. “We’re close. Too close to lose now. If you plan to stand in the way of that…”
She stepped closer and plucked the child out of Blythe’s arms with her own super-strength-enhanced, bionic ones. The child knew better than to thrash that time.
Blythe wondered now, nausea climbing her throat, whose blood she’d stolen to replicate that particular gift. The metal prosthetics weren’t just technology, now, were they? Blythe had never thought much of it before…
“Then you’ll have to take a time out,” the superhero finished. “Somewhere quiet where you can re-evaluate. Understand?” Her voice was a fake-chipper, then. Something Barbie-coded but full of invisible teeth.
Blythe’s powers hummed low beneath her skin, a tamed beast waiting for permission to lash out. Her fists clenched. “I really don’t think this is wise.”
“No?” Mockingbird sounded bored as she set Static’s daughter down on the table, tying a strip of elastic around the child’s forearm.
The little one jumped, blue static zapping Mockingbird’s fingers where they touched.
The superhero jerked back. “You little–”
“She’s just scared,” Blythe said, stepping between them. “I’ll do it. She’ll let me do it. Please.”
Mockingbird’s metal hand clanged into a fist. She took a long-suffering breath, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Get it done.” She pointed at the tray of tools on the counter. “Strap her down if you have to.”
Blythe’s hands went numb as she picked up the syringe. “Mocking–”
Their attentions snapped away as the speakers throughout the building crackled and spat. A wave of clammy dizziness flooded the room. Did the superhero feel the same sick lurch in her belly as Blythe did? The two clutched opposite ends of the counter to steady themselves.
Mockingbird whirled on the little girl. “Stop it, right now!”
Wide, terrified eyes stared back at her, but no blood oozed from her nose.
Blythe swallowed, choking down a roiling wave of nausea. She felt unsteady on her feet, light-headed and woozy. “It’s not her.”
A deep voice sounded over the intercom. “I’m coming to skin alive everyone who laid a finger on Verity. Those who merely stood by–don’t worry, I’ll fill your head with radiation so quickly you won’t even be able to choke out an apology.”
Oh no. Oh, they were so dead.
Blythe grabbed the child–Verity–and took a step toward the door.
Mockingbird blocked her. “No.”
“He’s going to kill everyone if he doesn’t get her back safely!”
Blythe tried to push her way past and Mockingbird grabbed her by the throat, cogs whirring in her bionic arm. She shoved, Blythe and Verity hurtling back into the wall.
“I said no!”
Blythe’s breath collapsed out of her lungs as her back hit the wall with a sickening crunch, drywall cracking and littering the floor around them.
Mockingbird turned to the monitor screen, making furious selections on the keyboard. Security footage of the whole base blipped to life.
They watched as Static strode into a room with the terrifying grace of an apex predator, tearing down anyone in his way. Radiation flooded his fists in a green glow as he punched through the receptionist’s chest, shifting to easily grab the next closest person and brace his hands on either side of their skull. The poor soul thrashed as blood leaked from their eyes, nose, and ears. When they were no longer moving, Static let them crumple to the floor.
The next group ran and Static bowled them down with infinitely multiplied radiowaves, hurling them from open palms as if it were nothing. The speakers filled with screams, the feedback whine behind the sound forcing Blythe to cover her ears.
Her blood iced over as in the top right frame, the supervillain looked up at the camera. His head tilted, making chilling eye contact with the lens until the screen cracked and went blank with buzzing stripes of radio static.
Verity was the only one in the compound who didn’t look afraid. She looked relieved.
Mockingbird moved for the door just as it burst open. She swung at Static with her bionic fists, missing and punching straight through the steel door instead.
Static stood on a platform of squiggling waves that lifted him off of the ground. He looked god-like. Untouchable. The impulse to run coursed through Blythe, but she stayed rooted to her spot, clutching the child to her chest. Static’s hands glowed green again as he lifted Blythe’s boss into the air. Those same up-and-down scribbles seized her, wrapping her prosthetic limbs and ripping them from her shoulders.
Mockingbird screamed.
“What did you do to my daughter?”
“Daddy!”
The villain’s attention shifted immediately. Verity wiggled free of Blythe’s arms, running to her father.
Static dropped his target as if she were a ragdoll, scooping up his daughter instead. “Verity,” he breathed. His eyes fell closed, stroking her hair, whispering tender praises and apologies into her shoulder.
The child clung to him. “Daddy.”
He pulled back to search her for injuries. “Are you hurt, darling? Tell me what they did to you.”
Though his voice was gentle for her, there was still a sharp undercurrent to it, as penetrating as the radiowaves that still leaked through the air. His eyes narrowed on her bloodied knees and the stained skin between her lip and nostril.
“I’m okay, Daddy,” Verity said, looking back at Blythe.
Her vision swam as the supervillain’s focus shifted, once more, to skewer her to her spot. A calm sort of rage stretched his posture taut as he stepped closer.
Blythe, embarrassingly, may have whimpered. Her hair stood on end, floating above her head.
Verity squirmed out of her father’s hold, jumping between them. Just as Blythe had done for her.
She held her breath.
“No, Daddy! She protected me.” Verity’s eyes took on a determined sort of gleam; valorant and unwavering.
The air around them fizzled quietly as another wave of illness rolled over Blythe.
Radiation poisoning. She wasn’t going to last much longer like this.
Static’s head tilted, looking from his daughter to the broken super behind her.
“She kept me safe,” Verity insisted, turning her head to look back at Blythe. Blythe couldn’t seem to speak. “She’s hurt. Can we take her home?”
“Verity.”
“Please?” Verity moved to Blythe’s side, taking her hand.
Despite her swimming vision, Blythe couldn’t help but smile softly at her. A powerful weapon indeed. Blythe believed she could move mountains.
Seconds passed and Blythe thought she may have passed out. Her vision stretched fuzzy and dim at the edges. Then she was being lifted from the floor, broken bones screaming their protest.
Blythe whimpered again, unable to help burying her face in the supervillain’s shirt.
His voice buzzed in her ear where it pressed against his chest.
“Stay close to me, Ver. Take my hand. We’re going home.”

Villain eyed Superhero wearily. Despite all their training, all their progress, Superhero had a height and weight advantage over Villain. His broad shoulders stood proud, supporting his stupid head, with his smirk that made Villain’s stomach crawl. They needed to get out of here, to get help.
They wouldn’t make it to the door in the condition they were in, so that was out of the question. His eyes flicked to the couch where he was asleep not a few minutes ago, which felt like a lifetime now. He couldn’t see his phone. He needed to call Hero, but maybe it was tangled in the blankets?
“I can see the cogs turning, Vil,” Superhero said with a happy sigh. “If you’re hoping that your precious Hero comes to save you in time, don’t. They’re too busy saving someone worth saving.”
“Shut up!” Villain growled, pushing at Superhero’s chest with their free hand. “Get off of me!”
Superhero chuckled, tsking and shaking his head at Villain’s outburst. Villain’s heart didn’t forget to beat after that, the guilt at his Brother’s disappointment didn’t still affect him. It didn’t.
“Where are your manners, Vil? Jeez, does Hero just let you run wild? That must be so annoying for them.”
“Hero loves me.”
Superhero leaned in, dark eyes glittering with malice. “Oh yeah? Then why aren’t they here looking after you?”
Villain’s face scrunched up. “Because you sent them away!”
“Or are they just so tired with you that they had to get out of the house for a while. It seems like the latter to me. God, I remember how annoying you were. Nobody, not even Hero has enough patience to handle you.”
“Hero loves me,” Villain said again, this time a little quieter.
“No. They don’t. They probably just feel sorry for you and how pathetic you are. Like a wounded baby bird whose wings are too weak to make it fly.”
“My life doesn’t concern you anymore! You don’t have to interact with me on a daily basis! Please let me go. Please, Brother, please.”
Superhero pressed a finger to his lips. “Shush. No begging yet, Vil. It’s unbecoming.”
Without warning, Superhero yanked Villain off the wall and was about to throw him to the floor when the pair froze. Villain’s ringtone played mutely from the bedroom. Villain’s eyes widened.
Hero.
Superhero recovered quicker than Villain, a cruel grin on his face as he started dragging Villain towards the bedroom. He got a hand on the back of Villain’s neck and shoved him down so Villain had to walk awkwardly bent over. Superhero opened the door to the bedroom and saw the phone lighting up on the bed.
He threw Villain to the ground beside the bed, laughing as Villain stumbled before he hit the floor with a groan, grabbing Villain’s phone off the bed.
“Aww, Vil. It’s Hero. Probably calling you to tell you that they’re leaving you.”
“Shut up,” Villain hissed, rubbing their hip that took the brunt of the impact.
Superhero turned Villain’s phone to Villain so they could see the picture of Hero laughing, ice-cream in hand, a dollop of mint chocolate chip on the tip of their nose.
“Cute,” Superhero said with a scoff, then put his finger in his mouth and mimed vomiting. Superhero waited for Hero to hang up before scrolling through Villain’s phone. Superhero raised their brows, glancing at Villain over the phone. “You seriously don’t have a passcode or something?”
“Don’t need it.”
Superhero scoffed, turning his attention back to the phone. Villain moved to get to their feet when Superhero’s stare snapped to them. “Don’t move or I’ll kill Hero.”
That froze Villain in their movements, their heart hitching at Superhero’s easy threat. Superhero didn’t seem too bothered by it and soon his face split into a wide smile.
“Aww, look Vil. Hero text: Superhero,” Superhero paused, grinning down at Villain pointing to himself. “That’s me.” Then went back to reading. “Superhero said that he was short staffed, and sent me to West-point so I will be home later than usual. Sorry for leaving you again, there’s soup in the freezer if you feel up to it. I love you. xx.”
Villain tightened their hands into fists by their sides, clenching their jaw against every word that Superhero read. Hero was going to be home later than normal? West-point, that was at least an hour by metro from here and who knows when they’d get home… especially because—
Villain raised their gaze to Superhero who was grinning above them. “You weren’t short-staffed, were you?”
“Of course not,” Superhero said with a smirk. “I just had to get Hero away from you for a while. Hell, even Other Hero and Sidekick should’ve gone to central hospital but I asked for them to be transferred to West-point so we could have some long overdue family time.”
Superhero tapped on Villain’s phone a little longer and grinned after locking the screen, pocketing the phone in his back-pocket. “Just in case you get any ideas.”
Villain glared at him from the ground, a sudden overwhelming helplessness returning to him that he hadn’t felt since he was a kid. Since he moved out of his family home. Now it came back with a viciousness that threatened to drown him and left him clawing against it just to keep his head above the water and his breathing even.
“Now,” Superhero said, inspecting Villain with his piercing gaze. “What to do with you.”
“Just leave,” Villain tried. “Please. I don’t— I’m not apart of your life anymore. You don’t— you don’t have to do this.”
“Vil, Vil, Vil,” Superhero sighed walking towards Villain. “Family doesn’t quit on each other. They never give up on you. I know I don’t have to try and fix you, the truth is I never did. I just wanted what was best for you.”
“Yeah right! You just wanted what was best for you! Can’t have your little brother embarrass you in public!”
Superhero, to Villain’s surprise, softened at that. Villain didn’t trust it for a second.
“You’re right,” Superhero said with a breath. “I was so worried about what kind of shame or embarrassment you would bring on me. I didn’t want people associating failure with us.”
Superhero crouched in front of Villain, tilting his head to the side. A strange smile on his lips, that Villain couldn’t quite discern. It looked whimsical and yet sad, wait— was that a genuine smile? No. It couldn’t be.
“It’s because I saw our potential, Villain,” Superhero said with a scoff. “Y’know, it’s stupid, but when I worked so hard to be Superhero, to become the best and bring prestige to our family name… well, I pushed you hard too because I always imagined that it would be something that we’d do together. Something we’d achieve together. The best brother Superhero duo in history.”
Villain’s heart cracked a little, a swarm of guilt spilling out like a leak in a dam, constricting his chest. Villain longed to reach out, to close the distance between them to apologise for not being able to live up to Superhero’s expectations.
To tell him that Villain tried. He really fucking tried, but Superhero was always stronger, faster, better than he was and he couldn’t be the same.
He didn’t though. He tightened his hands into fists and stared at Superhero who looked six feet deep in fond memories and regrets.
“I’m sorry, Vil.”
It felt as if time stopped. As if the Earth stopped turning, and the world stood frozen. The moment right before a car crash, or something inevitable happening; the cusp that hides between moments like a trapdoor spider, waiting until you lowered your guard before attacking and killing you.
Villain’s voice was a whisper: “what?”
Superhero swallowed, forcing himself to meet Villain’s gaze. “I’m sorry, Villain.”
There was no joke or humour in Superhero’s face as he said that, again. Apologised? Again! But— but— Villain’s brain was fried from their flu because this must be another trick? Another hallucination. Superhero being sorry for something? Feeling remorse?
“I’m sorry about what happened on the outside, how people perceived us, what you said and did outside the house that I didn’t even think about how it all must’ve effected you. I’m sorry that I wasted all that time trying to correct your behaviour outside the house when really,” Superhero’s hand shot out like a viper to grab Villain by the throat, slamming him back against the wall. “Really I should’ve focused more on your manners and knowing your fucking place.”
Superhero stood, bringing Villain with him and threw him across the room. Villain tried to catch themselves before their face hit the wall by throwing their hands out, but they landed awkwardly on their wrist and the pain ricocheted down their arm. Villain hissed, retracting their arm but they didn’t have time to react before a hand was in their hair and bashing their skull against the wall.
Once. Twice. Three times.
Villain went dumb from the impact, their brain struggling to comprehend what was happening, but the pain. They felt the pain spread like wildfire through their skull.
The hand in their hair tightened and Villain cried out as they were dragged across the bedroom, back towards the kitchen. They tried to gain purchase on the ground with their knees, but Superhero was moving too fast for them to keep up.
Superhero paused two feet from the doorway. Villain didn’t know why, they just slumped to the ground like a dog in shade during a heatwave. They just needed to catch their breath. Or pass out. Either was a good option.
Superhero didn’t seem to think so. He lifted his hand suddenly, dragging Villain’s head up to look Villain in the eye. Villain hissed, hands clawing at the strong grip on his hair. Superhero grabbed Villain by the throat, slamming his head back into the wall.
Villain groaned at the impact, moving his hands to try and dislodge Superhero’s hand from his throat. “God. You really are pathetic, aren’t you? Did I not teach you anything?”
Superhero stepped back, dropping all contact from Villain who struggled not to slump down the wall to the floor.
Superhero took two steps back, running a hand down his face, pinning Villain to the wall with a harsh glare. Villain’s entire body was trembling at them, struggling to keep themselves up in case they needed to bolt. But Superhero’s eyes caught every tremor, every flinch or wince.
“You’re still fucking ruining everything. It’s all you ever do, isn’t it?”
“Fuck off.”
“You really don’t know, do you? You make people weak, Villain.” Villain froze at the emotion colouring Superhero’s voice. “You make people weak, because they feel like they need to look after you, or take care of you. For fuck’s sake, you can barely stand by your-fucking-self! You needed Hero to take days off of work to mind you while you were sick, like some fucking child! Do you know how embarrassing that is!”
“My life doesn’t concern you anymore,” Villain spat, tears pinpricking their eyes.
Superhero scoffed. “Doesn’t concern me?”
Superhero studied Villain’s face, the wince after Superhero spoke. Then recognition flashed on his face, putting two and two together.
“You didn’t tell Hero that we’re related,” Superhero said, tilting his head to the side, a smile gracing his lips at Villain’s silence. “Oh that is… that is hilarious. The person you love the most? You’re keeping secrets from them?”
“We are not related,” Villain said, their voice coming out stronger than they felt in that moment. “You are nothing to me. I left you and Mom, and Dad. I left. I made a life for myself, a life where I’m loved by somebody. Why can’t you be happy for me?”
“What, you think Hero actually loves you?”
Villain flinched at the words. “Oh you do, don’t you?” Superhero cooed, walking towards Villain again and grabbing their face in his hands. “Oh. You poor fucking idiot. You have no idea how much Hero hates you, do you?”
Villain’s eyes glistened with tears. Superhero slammed Villain’s head back into the wall.
“Do you?”
“Just leave… leave me alone,” Villain begged, tears finally spilling over his eyes. “Please.”
Villain’s hand reached up and curled his fingers around Superhero’s wrist, weakly tugging at it.
“I can make them love you again,” Superhero whispered. “I know how. I can make you worth something in their eyes, isn’t that what you want?”
Villain sniffled, nodding. Superhero cooed, brushing the sweaty hair back from Villain’s face. “I know. I know you’re scared, but big bro’s here now, hmmm? Come on.”
Superhero pulled Villain away from the wall gently, taking Villain’s wrist in his hand. “Come on.”
“Where are we—” Villain asked, their voice hitching, wiping away their tears with the sleeve of their shirt. “Where’re we going?”
Villain’s mind only registered they were walking towards the bathroom when Superhero opened the door. Then they started pulling against Superhero’s hold.
“No! No, no, no, no, no!” Villain cried, going limp and yanking backwards. Superhero dropped Villain, cursing at them for the sudden weight. Villain took the opportunity to roll onto their stomach, pushing themselves to their hands and knees and rushing forwards. They threw themselves to their feet, stumbling slightly, almost rolling on their ankles but they were standing. They bolted for the door to the bedroom, slamming their shoulder into the doorframe as they propelled themselves out and towards the front door.
A hand caught the back of their shirt and Villain cried out. They were yanked backwards, their head slamming off the doorframe to the bedroom. Villain fell like a sack of bricks and Superhero let them.
Villain blinked up bleary-eyed at the ceiling, the world swimming in a whirlwind of colour. Two Superhero’s appeared above Villain, shaking their heads, as if they were disappointed parents looking down on an unruly child.
“Look at what you did,” Superhero said, the words coming in and out of focus like pulses. He leaned down, crouched above Villain. Then a hand passed over his face and Villain’s head whipped to the side. They whimpered. “Ah. There you are,” Superhero said, only one of him now. “Still with me, Vil.”
Another slap and Villain whimpered, weakly pushing their hand against Superhero’s. Superhero easily batted it away, opting to instead pinch Villain’s cheeks between their thumb and forefinger and dig their fingers in until Villain’s mouth formed an O and they cried out.
“Listen runt, I didn’t want to hurt you! Don’t you see? I’m trying to help you. You’ve clearly let yourself go since the last time I saw you, and nobody, not even Saint Hero will love you if you’re fat and disgusting. You want to be worth Hero’s love, don’t you?”
Tears welled behind Villain’s eyes and they tried to turn their head away, not wanting to face Superhero and the truth in his words. Superhero didn’t even let Villain flinch in any direction before his grip tightened.
“Don’t you want to be someone worthy of love?” Superhero asked, his voice imperceptibly soft. Villain let out a pathetic yes, their voice muffled by Superhero’s hold on their face. Superhero’s features smoothed out and he nodded sympathetically. “I know. Come on, let’s get you up. I’m just trying to help you be worthy of Hero.”
Superhero helped Villain to sit up, openly crying now. Superhero nodded his head compassionately. “I know. I know. Shh. It’s okay. Big bro’s here now. He’s going to make everything better. Ssh. Don’t worry. Come on, runt.”
Superhero helped the wailing Villain to their feet, guiding them towards the bathroom again. Villain, resigned, followed along because they didn’t want to get hit again. They didn’t want to try and fight back and get beaten again. They didn’t want to be ugly for Hero, they wanted to be worthy of them. Hero was brilliant, perfect, why would they settle for anything less than that? God, Superhero was right.
Superhero gently pushes Villain to their knees, and tells them to: “open up.”
Villain felt the familiar fear creep back up their spine, making their hair stand on end. They shook their head, making to stand up but Superhero kept a hand on Villain’s shoulder, keeping them in place.
“Come on. You said you wanted to be worthy of Hero, right?”
Villain deflated. A part of them wanted to be perfect, to listen to Superhero and just give in, save themselves the pain. The other part was screaming at them, telling them they were worth more than this. That they hated this, and that Hero loved them no matter what. Strangely the voice telling them to fight sounded an awful lot like Hero’s.
“It’s okay, you don’t have to do anything. I’ll do it all, remember?” Superhero coaxed, his fingers tracing Villain’s jaw and resting at their bottom lip. “Come on, Villain.”
Villain didn’t protest, but they didn’t fight Superhero either, so when his fingers pushed past Villain’s lips, Villain didn’t move. Only when they went far, hitting Villain’s gag reflex did Villain start fighting him.
They shot up from their knees on instinct, but Superhero’s hold kept them down, his other hand going to the back or Villain’s hair and pulling it, yanking their head back so he could shove his fingers down further.
Villain whined, shaking their head. They didn’t want this, they didn’t want this! Villain felt bile climbing his throat and he jerked forward, but Superhero didn’t move his fingers and they hit the back of Villain’s tongue. Villain felt the warmth climbing his throat, gripping the toilet seat and ready to vomit.
Superhero pulled his fingers out at the last second, and Villain heaved. It was only bile that came out, green-hued see through slime, because Villain hadn’t eaten in days.
Superhero clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. “Hmm. That won’t do. We’ll go again.”
Before Villain could protest, Superhero’s fingers were in his mouth again, unmerciful as they shot to the back of Villain’s throat. Villain grabbed Superhero’s wrist, pulling his fingers out. “Don’t fight me, Vil. We agreed.”
Superhero’s fingers hit Villain’s throat again, and they felt the muscles in their neck contracting as another wave of nausea hit them. Panicking and wanting Superhero to just let them go, Villain clamped their jaw around Superhero’s hand.
Superhero yelped, then roared and yanked their hand out of Villain’s jaw. “I’m—” Villain gasped, but Superhero cut them off with a punch to the face. Villain’s head veered down, hitting off the edge of the ceramic toilet bowl with a dull thump.
A hand in their hair and their head was wrenched back. Superhero’s fist flashed in the corner of their eye, and struck the same place in their jaw, keeping them straight.
“I thought we agreed that I—” punch. “Know” punch. “Better.” A sharp slap deafened Villain as Superhero released them again, their head snapping to the side. “I don’t want to hurt you, but you force me to, Vil. I hate to see you like this, but as your older brother I’ll do what I have to do, to make you a better person.”
A sharp kick to the stomach, once, twice, three times and Villain lurched forward, crying out and swallowing hard to keep the rush of liquid crawling like a tidal wave up their throat. Superhero grabbed Villain by the throat. Leaning his face in closer to them.
“Come on, Vil,” Superhero said sweetly. “You want to look your best for Hero, don't you? You want to deserve them, right?”
“Pl—please,” Villain stammered, choking on Superhero’s tight grip. “Just lemme— go.”
“Stop fighting me, runt, I'm just trying to look out for you.”
Superhero pinched Villain’s jaw between his thumb and index finger, his nails digging into their cheeks, drawing blood, and forcing their mouth open. His fingers found the back of Villain’s throat, pressing down on Villain’s gag reflex.
Villain felt the muscles in his throat tighten, the bile burning acidic up their throat and they lunged forward, Superhero withdrew his hand from Villain’s mouth, but kept pinching their cheeks so Villain couldn’t swallow. Only when he was satisfied that Villain was about to hurl did he let go, grinning down as Villain spewed into the toilet.
A lot more than last time, their stomach ached as they vomited. A momentary pause and then another bout reared its head and tears streamed down their face, sobbing as they let the feeling run its course out of them.
Superhero patted Villain’s hair like a dog. “Good, see. You did so good.”
“What are you doing?”
Villain froze at the voice. Superhero’s hand stopped rubbing Villain’s hair, but he didn’t remove it from Villain’s head. Hero rushed in, going to Villain’s side and get grabbing their face in their hands, thumbing away the tears.
“Villain, shhh. Shhh, it’s okay.” Hero cooed. Villain sobbed against Hero’s hands, the gentle touches. They weren’t worthy of this kindness. They didn’t deserve Hero’s caring love. This was pity. They pitied Villain, that’s why they looked so caring in that moment. Not out of love. Why was Villain so weak to melt at the kindness, they should be worthy of them! Hero shouldn’t have to see Villain like this. “I’m here now. It’s okay.”
Hero glanced back at Superhero, eyes narrowed into a glare. “What are you doing here?!”
“I knew you would be away for a while today, Hero. And I knew you would be worried sick about your ill partner so I thought I would come and look after them for you.”
Hero’s eyes found Villain’s, searching, scanning for any sign that Superhero was lying. Villain was skittish and heaving, not meeting Hero’s eyes. There was something wrong, was it just vomiting? Being sick? No, this was different. Villain was incoherent and violent last time, now they were just… subdued and lifeless and terrified.
“You stepped over the line, Superhero,” Hero said firmly, eyes burning down at their lover. “Please wait in the living room while I help them to bed.”
Superhero’s eyes met Villain’s over Hero’s shoulder, a sadistic smile on his lips. He brought a finger to his lips and pointed down at Hero. Then drew a line across his throat and mimicked Hero being killed.
“Of course, Hero,” Superhero said easily, while Villain’s trembles intensified. Hero waited until Superhero had walked out the door before looking back at Villain.
“Vil, oh my god, I’m so sorry. Are you okay? I’m so sorry, I should have never left you.”
They’re just saying that because you’re weak, Villain thought.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t ask Superhero to come. I didn’t know they would do something as crazy as this!”
They’re tired of you. They don’t love you, if they did they would have never left. You’re exhausting, you wear people out.
“Come on, Vil. Talk to me.” Hero said, leaning forward and pressing their forehead against Villain’s. Villain could feel Hero’s warm breath fanning against their face. They weren’t even worthy of this. “Shhh. Vil, it’s okay. I’m here now and I’m not leaving.”
When Hero wrapped their arms around Villain, Villain couldn’t hold it together anymore and they broke down into sobs that wracked their entire body. Their fingers turned to claws in Hero’s shirt, bunching it and holding on and not wanting to let go.
They were weak, they were so weak that they made the people they loved weak for them. It bled through from Villain into them, and now they were breaking Hero’s heart. They didn’t deserve Hero’s heart. They didn’t deserve any of this comfort and warmth and love.
Hero held them tightly and kissed their hair and cheek and anything their lips could reach, whispering reassurances and telling them that they loved them.
When Villain’s sobs had calmed down to mere whimpers and sniffles, Hero moved them, putting one hand under their legs and the other under their shoulders and lifted them like they were a baby. Villain curled into Hero’s embrace, a deep red blush filling their face with warmth.
Hero shouldn’t have to do this, to be the strong one. Villain was the strong one! God what happened to them?! Why couldn’t they just be perfect for Hero?
Hero put them into bed, lying beside them under the covers. They tilted Villain’s head down to lie on top of Hero’s chest, hearing their heartbeat. They were a tangle of limbs.
“What about,” Villain sniffed, “Superhero?”
Hero’s eyes darkened. “Let him wait. You’re my priority, Villain. You always will be. Never forget that.”
Villain sniffed, fresh tears streaming down their cheeks. “I love you Hero.” They said even though it broke their heart to say that. Weak! So weak!
“I love you more than you’ll ever know,” Hero whispered into Villain’s hair, kissing the top of their head.

Dabi hc’s
side note: This isn’t going to have any fluff to it, these are just some realistic hc’s I have for him. Most of these are going to be pretty angst. I hope you guys enjoy!
-He is NOT going to use pet names or cutesy nicknames. Don’t expect him to call you “doll” or “baby”, this mf is a straight-up loner and can barely understand flirting. He’s only going to use your name or a shorter version of it THAT’S IT!
-Kinda similar to the first one but if you try to create cute nicknames for him, I guarantee you that he would dip IMMEDIATELY. Calling him anything other than Dabi is a huge ick of him.
- He’s definitely not oblivious to sexual stuff but he’s probably not going to participate in it what so ever. He simply doesn’t have interest in it and definitely doesn’t have the energy for it.
-If he somehow does participate in sexual activities, it’s going to be very vanilla. Nothing flashy or fancy. He won’t mind being top or bottom. During it he’ll be pretty quiet, depending on the mood.
-In a relationship, he is going to be very lowkey and distant. He’s not going to put a whole lot of effort in the relationship but he will stay loyal if you’re loyal to him.
-He’s not going to take you out on romantic dates or spend cuddle time with you. The most he can do is hangout at your place or at a tucked away spot where the two of you can just talk.
-His way of affection is spending quality time with you. Physical affection for him is some hand holding, hugs, and occasional kisses. The kisses would be sort of awkward too, like let’s be for real.. he not going full French kiss on you (it would be shocking if he even knew how to do that). The most he can do is a side kiss or a little boop on the lips LMFAO.
-His way of joking with is you is by pissing you off. It’s pretty obvious that Dabi isn’t the nicest person so it’s expected for him to be a tease. The sly comments are constant with him.
Alternate part: This part is going to follow the scenario of if you were apart of the L.O.V. The first part was more of a broad following of hc’s.
-On missions with him he will not be interacting with you in a lovey dovey way. He’s going to be straightforward and focused on the task.
-If the fight gets too heated he would step in to at least make sure that nobody, including you, doesn’t die.
-He’ll try to watch your back as much as he can. Just in case if anything goes wrong or off track.
