“He’s not good enough for Spurs” - These Tottenham fans criticise international ace’s display
Tottenham Hotspur’s title ambitions were dealt a major setback on Saturday when they lost 2-1 to Burnley at Turf Moor. Despite Spurs’ talisman Harry Kane making a goalscoring return from injury, goals from Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes ensured that it was a miserable day for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
Defensively the visitors were poor throughout. Tottenham failed to deal with the physicality and aerial threat posed by the Clarets. Pochettino’s team selection must be questioned in that regard. Given that Sean Dyche was always going to set up with tall, powerful forwards, and then try to exploit those attributes, it was a mistake for Davinson Sanchez not to have been included in Spurs’ starting XI.
Is the emergance of a ‘big 6’ good news for English clubs in Europe? Pl>ymaker FC’s Ed Tarlton certainly thinks to in the video below…
Juan Foyth was played instead, however, and struggled to cope. The 21-year-old centre-back was confident and composed in possession, but when he was under pressure defensively he buckled. The young Argentine lacked the experience and physicality needed to cope with the Clarets’ attackers.
After the match, plenty of Spurs fans took to Twitter to give their verdict on the once-capped international’s performance…
Foyth not in the strongest 11 … really no idea why he started him in this game knowing how Burnley would play. Can only think he had one eye on Wed

He was supposed to remove Rose n put Davies also Aurier is useless we need Trippier. You also can’t have Sanchez out. Foyth continues with his silly mistakes costing the team. #Come_On_You_Spurs

Please stop playing Foyth. He’s not good enough for Spurs. Not yet anyway
— Adan (@Adan21340291) 23 February 2019
Foyth is not good enough simple , makes miles to many errors
— Heritage Driveways (@HeritageDrives) 23 February 2019
Foyth, Lamela, Aurier, Moura, Llorente – ditch them all
— Paddy Hickey (@thatsuitbloke) 23 February 2019
Foyth is a young enigma. Clearly likes the ball and has tremendous self confidence (too much?) but I’m not sure he’s a defender. Not yet, anyway. Seems a bit unaware at times and can be bullied. Further forward, he’s smooth and smart #THFC #COYS

No excuses of Injuries or fatigue today (are acceptable) -Foyth shouldn’t have started. – We need a good RB because Aurier and Trippier are the complete opposite of solid. -We need some investment in the summer. Poch Got it wrong , yet again.

We were poor, but Foyth was really really poor. And made error after error. Miles off it. Your star boy winks made lots of safe 2 yard passes again today though
