secreto de amor XII
chapter 12! read chapter 11 here
Tumblr media
you were excited about what happened with connie but you also felt guilty about it. you knew jean was overprotective over you with any guy but because his best friend would be involved, you didn’t know how different this would be. you didn’t know how to feel about the situation.
but one thing you were sure about was your feelings for connie. he brought some kind of spice in your life and everything with him felt natural, especially when you started to just embrace him as a person overall. maybe you were falling in love but you’ve been there before and the possibility of going back kinda frightened you.
“whatcha smiling at?” sasha asked while being all up on your phone as you texted connie.
“her man.” tia commented, which prompted you to send a death stare her way.
“man? you ain’t tell us you had a man? who’s the man?” you rolled your eyes before putting your phone down.
“i don’t have a man, sasha.”
“yet.” tia coughed.
“i’ll never have a man. especially after what happened with…” you couldn’t even really say his name, not like it deserved to be said anyway.
“who?” sasha looked at tia because she knew she’d have the answer.
“her ex.” she mumbled and sasha quickly understood.
“but don’t be like that! you’ll have a man, especially one that’s gonna treat you…not like how the other one treated you.”
“his name is gonna start with a c and end with an e…he’s gonna be funny and fine…he’s gonna—“
“t.”
“that’s very specific.”
“girl, we talking about connie!” you immediately shushed tia in case jean was somewhere nearby.
“ohhh! aww~i knew he was talking to somebody new, i didn’t think it was you though. cute!”
“we’re not a thing.”
“they kissed. tongue and everything. sucking each other’s faces off—“
sasha gasped. “oh my god…yall fucked?”
“no. just a kiss, calm down.”
“you saying that like it’s a bad thing. his dick little or something?”
“no, i’d just be surprised if y’all did. you’re so soft and quiet and he’s…he sells drugs.”
“okay, and? money money money~” tia sang.
“he’s cool and we kissed so i’m just tryna see if the kiss was a waste of time.” it obviously wasn’t because it occupied your mind for hours in a day but you just wanted to see if anything would come out of it or if you were just signing an invisible contract to become one of his throw-away hoes.
“evidently not, got you smiling at the phone and shit.” you threw a pillow towards tia.
“you got jokes, huh?”
“what’s going on in here?” jean came into your room.
“none of your business, why are you in here?”
“to let you know i’m going to the store and if you wanted to come?”
“so it’s just fuck us huh?” tia commented and jean narrowed her eyes at her.
“yep. you coming, y/n?” you nodded just to get out the house.
“you’re gonna leave us?” sasha stood up from the bed, pouting.
“no, i’ll be back. just take care of the house.”
you and jean went to the store to get more groceries because it was the first time since he’s been back.
you two were walking down snack aisle when you thought you saw connie with some girl and eventually you were sure it was him. they were laughing, giggling, and touching all up on each other and your heart felt like it was breaking into a million pieces. it showed on your face and jean picked up on your energy shift.
“hey, what’s wrong? you don’t like chocolate chip?” jean asked innocently as he held up a box of chocolate chip cookies.
“i’m okay. what else do we need to get?” you tried to shake the scene off but you couldn’t.
“umm…that’s it. you sure you okay?”
“yeah, can we leave now?”
“of course.” he nodded. the only time you rushed him was if something was really wrong or you didn’t wanna be somewhere so he understood. on the ride back, he did have questions but he knew not to bother you if you looked upset. so when you finally got home you went straight to your room but forgot sasha and tia were still there.
“what’s wrong? what happened at the store?” you shook your head but sasha and tia looked at each other, knowing something was wrong.
“you saw connie?” tia whispered. you were quiet so that gave away your answer. “don’t tell me he was with another bitch bruh…” you were quiet again.
“i’m sorry y/n…i can talk to him if you want. this might all be a big misunderstanding.” sasha rubbed your leg. you didn’t feel like crying or anything, you were just mad. his lil kiss started to get you into feelings you were kinda excited for but then he goes and have another bitch in his face? yeah you knew it was a waste of time.
“it is what it is,” you shrugged. “i just don’t think he’s for me.”
“don’t give up! maybe it was a cousin you saw him with or something.” tia side-eyed sasha.
“be forreal.”
“it didn’t look like a cousin. the way they were all up on each other.”
“were they kissing?” you shook your head. “at least that’s good.”
“yeah i just need to take a step back.”
“a few steps all the way back.” tia’s comment made you and sasha giggle before you all talked some more. after a few more minutes, tia and sasha ended up leaving and jean was knocking on your door.
“come in!”
“hey, you okay? you looked pretty upset earlier.” jean came in and sat on your bed.
“i’m fine. just a mood swing or something.” jean knew you were lying and was battling in his head whether or not he should ask you what he really wants to ask you.
“okay…i just have a question,” you didn’t look at him but was silent just to listen to him. “what’s up with you and connie?” your heart sank again but you couldn’t explain why if there’s truthfully nothing going on, at least not anymore.
“nothing. why?”
“i overheard yall talking about him. i just wanted to ask you just in case i misheard or whatever.”
“we kissed but we’re not dating or anything.” jean had to admit he was a bit bothered by what you told him but his priority was with you, not connie.
“okay then, just…i don’t want you getting hurt. i want your heart and mind protected and honestly, connie is not gonna be the one to do that for you. he’s my best friend and all and we’re cool but, you will always come first. i’ll always be on your side, understood?” you nodded in confirmation. luckily you hadn’t gotten that far with connie for anything to change. you hoped that outside of you, him and jean would still be friends because you didn’t wanna ruin anything for your brother.

There's a tap at Alex's window. Alex ignores it. Sometimes branches sweep down over the house on particularly stormy nights, and sometimes there are birds, and there's always the possibility that he's imagined it.
The tap comes again. Alex sighs. He knows where the sound is coming from, and it's not like he'd been falling asleep to begin with, so maybe this will help in some way.
Slowly he kicks away his covers, drags himself out of bed, and opens the window.
"Hi," he says.
"Hi," Jack whispers. "Did I wake you?"
"Not really." Alex shrugs. "It's okay. I couldn't sleep anyway. What's up?"
Jack peers into Alex's room, which looks strange for how empty it is. So much of it is in suitcases or boxes, ready to be packed into the car tomorrow and driven off to college. The only thing in Alex's room that isn't quite ready to leave is Alex.
"You wanna sit out here with me?" Jack asks. He's on the roof, a place Alex's parents have repeatedly instructed them both not to climb on. Alex thinks Jack only really does this for the drama of breaking the rule, but he has to admit there is something unique about sitting on the rooftop. Especially doing so with Jack.
"Yeah," Alex says, because why not. Sleep had been a failed venture, and Jack is a familiar presence. In the strangeness of Alex's room right now, he'll take all the familiarity he can get.
Jack shuffles away so that Alex can slide the window open wide enough to climb through, trying to tread as lightly as he can. It's not that he thinks the roof will cave under them, necessarily, but it's definitely an ever-present possibility of which Alex is hyper-aware. Four years ago, when Jack first climbed up the tree to the roof outside Alex's bedroom window and knocked like some Juliet-esque forbidden lover, they'd both been a lot smaller. As they've grown up — and gotten more freedom — they've taken up residence less and less on this roof.
It hasn't changed at all, though. Maybe it's a little leafier now. Alex brushes away some leaves and stretches his legs out in front of him, and at his left, Jack does the same.
"So I guess you couldn't sleep either?" Alex finally says.
Jack breathes a laugh. "Ya think?" He shrugs. "Yeah. I don't know. I've been excited to go to college this whole time, but now that we're going it feels like…"
"Yeah," Alex murmurs.
"Yeah. I don't think I'm scared, you know? But, I don't know, maybe. It's all just so weird."
"Yeah, who'd have thought we'd ever make it this far?" Alex deadpans. "I thought for sure we'd be high school dropouts."
"I seriously didn't think they would let me graduate," Jack says.
"Nobody thought they would let you graduate. I'm still in shock."
"Just waiting for the call. 'Hello, Jack Bearcat?'" Alex laughs. Four years at their high school and somehow their principal had never managed to correctly pronounce Jack's last name. "'Yeah, we need to revoke your diploma. You actually don't get to graduate because you skipped so many classes and we hate you.'"
"It's too late," Alex giggles. "They already let you. No take-backsies."
"No take-backsies," Jack repeats, folding his hands together between his legs. "Yeah."
They fall silent, and for a moment Alex doesn't break it.
Through the open window into his room, Alex can see a bare stretch of wall where there used to be a blink-182 poster. That poster is now folded up and hidden somewhere in the depths of one of the myriad boxes stacked upon Alex's floor. When he gets to college, he'll put it up in his dorm, and hopefully it'll feel more like home. But when he comes back for holidays and breaks, his room won't have the poster. The room where he grew up — really grew up, not from a baby to a boy but from a boy to a man, or whatever it is they’re calling him now — won't have Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker's judgmental gazes watching over it anymore, and neither will Alex as long as he's here.
Packing for college is just deciding how much of home you want to take with you, and how much you want to leave to come back to in the summer. Alex still isn't sure if he's one of the things he wants to leave or take with.
"At least we'll be close," Alex finally says. His voice is a little rough, but it doesn't get better when he swallows. He clears his throat. "Right? An hour, that's not far."
"You won't be able to escape me," Jack says. "I'll be at your dorm every weekend, like it or not."
"I'm counting on it," says Alex. "I’m really gonna miss you, y’know?”
Jack exhales. “I’m really gonna miss you too.” He glances around them. “I’m really gonna miss this. I don’t know what I’ll do when I can’t just walk five minutes and be at your house. Knock on your window. How am I supposed to be your annoying best friend if I can’t wake you up in the middle of the night and make you sit on the roof with me?”
“Hey, you’ll always be my annoying best friend,” Alex says, linking his left arm in Jack’s right. He leans his head carefully on Jack’s shoulder, and Jack slump down a bit so it’s more comfortable for both of them. “And I’ll sit on any roof with you. Time and place, I’ll be there.”
Jack hums. “But I don’t want to sit on any roof,” he mumbles. “I like this one.”
A dizzying feeling swoops through Alex’s stomach. He closes his eyes. “Yeah, me too.”
They’re quiet again, and so is the world. It, like Alex, might be holding its breath, waiting for some kind of resolution, some happy ending to this moment. Where Jack and Alex realize that they would rather stay together no matter the cost, and one of them decides to transfer schools; some kind of sweeping rom-com finale that has the audience in tears. But Alex knows it won’t come. Life isn’t a romantic comedy. Life is just life, and they’re both forging paths. Setting down each stone right before they take the next step across it, maybe, but forging paths nonetheless.
They’re not starkly different, but they’re not the same. As much as the two of them had dreamt of being together forever, pointing at adjacent unclaimed clusters of stars in the sky with bright, optimistic fifteen-year-old eyes and calling them the Jack and Alex constellations, Alex had never really thought they’d end up in the same place.
That might be part of the magic, though. If Alex is searching for a silver lining, he can find one in this: however far apart he and Jack drift on the map, they’ll always come back to each other. It’s only an hour now, but Alex knows the way that life can grab you by the collar and whisk you away to another state, another country, another continent, how forcefully it can shake away all the strings you try to attach to yourself to keep you from being adrift in the world. He’d been too young after his first move; now he knows better. It’s not a string this time so much as an anchor, locked around Jack’s heart, braced against his rib cage, and Alex knows with almost unyielding certainty that wherever he goes, or wherever Jack goes, they’ll always find each other.
“Hey,” Alex says, cracking the silence down the middle. “Can I give you something to bring to college?”
“Sure,” Jack says.
Alex pats his thigh. “Okay. Give me a minute to find it.”
He detaches himself from Jack and crawls back through the window into his bedroom. Compared to the breezy nighttime atmosphere, the house is eerily silent. Alex hurries over to the stack of boxes — thankfully he’d had the presence of mind not to seal them shut yet — and begins digging through the first one. He’s pretty sure it’s in this one. He’s pretty sure it’d been one of the last things he’d packed.
After emptying the box of almost all its contents, he hits jackpot. “Aha,” he mutters, carefully tugging it out from under a stack of notebooks. Ignoring the mess of stuff on his floor, he returns to the window and clambers back through it.
“What’s this?” Jack asks.
Alex unfolds the poster and holds it out for Jack to take. “You should take this to school.”
“Your blink poster?” Jack looks up from the poster and through the window, and Alex knows he’s picturing it fastened to the wall across from them. That poster has been up for almost the entire duration of their friendship. “Don’t you want this?”
“No, I want you to have it,” Alex says. “If you want, I mean.”
“Yeah, sure,” Jack says, glancing back down at the poster. “Man. The things this poster has seen. The things this poster will see. I hope these dudes can keep a secret.”
Alex knows what the poster has seen: the two of them, growing up in tandem, constantly pulled together by something akin to gravity, making a home not out of any room or rooftop but out of each other.
If all Jack brings of Alex to his dorm is this poster, Alex thinks that’s enough.
“I should probably go,” Jack says reluctantly, and panic seizes Alex, because however much he can kid himself that he’s ready to say goodbye, he’s never really going to be. They’ll be counting down the hours once it’s tomorrow, but until then they have forever. And Alex isn’t letting go.
“Please don’t,” he says quietly, looping his arm in Jack’s again and shifting closer to him. “Please just stay a little longer.”
Jack breathes out, leans his head on Alex’s shoulder, and nods. “Yeah. I didn’t want to go anyway.”
The breeze ruffles Alex’s hair. He closes his eyes, cheek to the top of Jack’s head, and breathes as quietly as he can, like maybe if they’re still enough the world will mistake them for statues and they’ll never have to leave. Like breathing slowly will delay the inevitable. These things are impossible. Alex knows that.
But Jack makes a lot of things possible, and Alex isn’t willing to give up just yet.

*claps* spromeo angst spromeo angst spromeo angst let specs comfort his boy romeo this is probably a weird ask but whatever you made a post about wanting prompts lol
I can assure you i have sent other ppl weirder prompts AGNXGAHSHAVS I’ve left this and other prompt requests in my drafts bcs school gets in the way from me finishing it so sorry yall. There was two other prompts before this one was sent in but i was only inspired to write this one first for the time being. Anyways I hope you enjoy!
Despite my hectic schedule with school, yall can still send in some requests! and as an extra note I love angst :) (idk if I’m any good at it. I think i’m kinda good at it but idk abt your opinions hehe)
Romeo sits in the midst of the messy boxes stored in the attic, dusty and old. His first intentions was to look for answers on his own. It didn’t took long, but the truth really stabbed his heart out.
His mind rewinds the events from yesterday. It was a normal day at the bakery after he finished his last class. His mother busy baking with the only other employee that came into work that day while Romeo was busy tending the customers.
He got to the last customer in the line, a man with a hood over his head but looks harmless. There isn’t much he can identify but he still could see a little strain of black hair falling off his head. It didn’t bother his brown eyes from starring intensely back at Romeo. He’ll admit, it’s very unsettling. Still, he pushes away the thought with a bright smile on display.
What the man said caught him off guard, “You don’t know me, but I’m your mother’s brother”
The voice was stern, a little breathless. He noted the slight Asian accent, the same one his mother has when she feels a certain way.
Romeo wasn’t sure how to turn this man away. He should’ve done that sooner, but curiosity had clouded his mind and stayed quiet with a visibly intrigued expression drawing the lines of his face.
The man took his silence as compliance and continues to explain. He only caught a few words before his hand got yanked away from the scene. Romeo’s mother stands in front of him to face the man. He can see the visible anger spewing in his mother, the only thing keeping the man alive was probably the cash register in between the two.
Romeo’s mother spoke in mandarin with the man. It didn’t matter if it was for the secrecy since Romeo also speaks mandarin.
“What are you doing here?!” The usual friendly accent his mother would use in this language has been replaced by a dangerous venom. It was the first time Romeo heard it and caused him to jump.
“I came here to see you!”
“That’s not what you said the last time!”
The other customers looked worried at the well being of the old lady who runs their beloved bakery, viciously arguing with a man in a language they don’t seem to understand. It causes a dilemma in them whether to break up the fight or let it be.
But Romeo understands. He stands still in the back, listening carefully to their argument and watch his mother’s back in case the man got out of line. His mother have always taught him to mind his own business, but Romeo can’t help eavesdrop the two.
With the knowledge Romeo has, everything they’re saying doesn’t make any sense. Though at the same time, it simultaneously does. The mysteries he’s always wondered in the past finally getting answered, but it only leads to more. He darts his eyes to whichever of the two was talking, taking in every word they throw at each other.
He was cut short by the other employee, asking Romeo for help to unload the huge oven full of freshly baked bread. He shakes out of his daze to get back to reality and walk in the kitchen, still keeping an ear open to keep listening to the argument.
It didn’t last very long. Probably after a few seconds, the argument stopped. His mother returned to her work as if nothing had happened, but stayed eerily quiet. Romeo would’ve asked for an explanation but thought it was better if he didn’t.
So now Romeo’s left to sit in the attic all alone. A single vintage paper loosely hanging in between his fingers with two lines caused by the neat folds. His sits on an old box, back hunched down to his knees. His loud breathing rings through his ears and fills the extra space of the attic.
“Knock, knock”
Romeo turns around towards the source of the semi-playful voice. Leaning on the door frame was a tall figure with the familiar comforting smile Romeo loves.
“Specs!” Romeo exclaimed, standing up to get to him whilst still holding on the paper from previously.
He crashes into his chest and reaches up to wrap his arms around his neck. Specs rests his arms around whatever body part he could reach to pull him closer. After realizing they’ve been lingering in this hug a little too long, Specs threads through his black hair. Typical Specs, always able to read the room.
“How’d you know I was here?” Romeo lifted his head.
“The others says you went straight to the bakery after your last class”
It was convenient his home is quite literally above his own workplace. So Specs figured it out quickly when he didn’t see Romeo behind the counter. Despite being a grown adult, Romeo chooses to stay in his childhood home only because he didn’t have the heart to leave his mother living alone. Plus, Romeo works at their bakery on the ground floor.
“You disappeared on me” Specs lightly said, still stroking his hair. He was expecting to see Romeo at Jacobi’s with the others, like where their friends usually hang out after class.
“Sorry, I meant to call. I just...” Romeo trailed off, pulling away from the hug. He gestures to the paper with minimal effort and a sorrowful face.
Specs takes note of the paper’s presence with an inquisitive face then drags his eyes back to Romeo, “Are you gonna tell me what’s goin’ on?”
Romeo smacks the paper to his chest, catching him off guard for a second before grasping it properly. Specs adjusts the position so he can get a proper look at what’s causing his boyfriend to be this upset, though can’t understand the writing.
Romeo wanders back further in the attic, dropping his head and sighs, “A guy came in yesterday, telling me that he was my uncle”
He turns around to face Specs again and sits in the same box as before he arrived, “Anyone could’ve done that but when ma started arguing with him... it just... sounds real”
The taller boy approaches him, sitting next to him on another box. Romeo instinctively rests his head on his shoulder. Specs wraps one arm around him, softly rubbing his shoulders as he waits for Romeo to find the words.
“He was saying things about how they missed her and they want her to come home” Romeo explained, still not sounding sure with what he’s saying.
“’They’?”
“Her family”
For as long as he knew Romeo, his only family is his mother and no one else. Specs stops his hand strokes, fully turning his head to face the shorter boy.
“I didn’t ask her to explain and end up finding my own answers” Romeo turns to pick up the paper he gave Specs and holds it up for the both of them to view it. Specs props his glasses up to examine it as Romeo continues on, “This was a letter from her family, a reply from the previous letter she sent”
“It’s basically saying something like.... ‘we don’t want to have anything to do with you anymore, you’re a disgrace to the family for having a baby outside of wedlock”
They fell silent after that. Romeo drops the letter in his hand to the ground and burying his face into his palms. Specs pulls him closer to his chest and wraps both of his arms around him. They stay like that for a couple of minutes, the only sound filling the room is Romeo’s breathing.
“Are you okay?” Specs looks down, keeping his grip firm around his torso
Romeo drops his hands down on his lap, revealing a little redness in the corner of his eyes. Specs can see the little droplets of water nearly watering the dark brown color in his eyes. He sighs out, “I don’t know...”
He fully turns to face Specs and crashes back into his chest, gently wrapping his arms around his torso. Specs moves one hand up to thread through Romeo’s hair, while the other keep a tighter grip around him. He stayed quiet despite feeling trickling water staining his shirt. A few sniffles soon followed which he answers with a kiss to Romeo’s hair and resting his chin on his head.
Romeo pulls his face away from Specs’ chest just by an inch. He tugs on his boyfriend’s shirt a little as he looks up to face him and sniffles, “I just... I can’t stop thinking of... the idea that...”
His voice got stuck in the tightness of his throat and continues to sob instead of continuing on what he was going to say. Specs gently wipes his tears down his cheeks and pulls him closer. Romeo’s head now resting on his chest again as Specs rocks them and thread through his hair again.
“... I was the reason why my mother doesn’t have a family” Romeo whispers though his sniffles, “She wouldn’t have gotten outcasted if it weren’t for me”
Specs brings a hand to cup his cheek, pulling his face up for him to view it clearly, “Is that how you see it?”
Romeo just sniffles while Specs wipes the rest of the tears away with his thumb.
“It’s crazy how many possibilities we could think of if we skip a certain event from our past” Specs said, “Things definitely would’ve been different if you aren’t here”
Romeo stays quiet, wiping another tear falling down his cheek.
“Your mother would’ve stayed in Singapore and have never opened this bakery in the first place” Specs started, the gentle voice soothes Romeo’s ears, “She wouldn’t have met you... And neither would I”
Specs smiles, warming Romeo’s heart instantly. Though, it isn’t enough to pull his smile back up yet.
“Her reality is right here, right now. Making the choice to raise you while running her very own bakery” Specs continues on, “And I don’t believe she regrets it. You can’t exactly fake happiness”
He pulls Romeo by the cheeks gently, placing a kiss on his forehead and parting his lips with a sweet noise at the end. He looks back down to the boy, “And I’m glad she gave me the opportunity to fall in love with her son”
Romeo sniffles out a small smile, though the sadness hasn’t left his heart. He lets himself be envelop by Specs’ warmth once again. But now, his breathing is following the pace of Specs’ heartbeat and his eyes has ran out of water to leak out.
Eventually, he’ll have to face his mother again. He hasn’t seen her since this morning, and he even purposely skipped breakfast to get away from the awkward tension on the dining table. He still has questions that needs to be answered from his mother. But that’s a problem he doesn’t have to deal with till later on. Right now, Romeo’s glad that Specs came here looking for him when he disappeared from their friends.
Romeo’s glad he’s given the opportunity to fall in love with Specs.

Since you asked... Hank helping Connor move in now that androids can own property?
Thank you so much! I love this ship so much and would love to write more of it. I didn’t really do a romantic relationship here so I’m sorry if that’s what you were looking for. I could easily write a romantic sequel for it if it gets up to 50 notes!
Hank would have loved to say that he had come furniture shopping with Connor to help the small man, well, not man, with the heavy lifting and manual labour, but he really couldn’t have been more useless there. Connor had no difficulty when it came to lifting boxes by himself, Hank was more there for moral support and to help Connor actually furnish his new apartment as opposed to establishing a completely utilitarian living space with a cheap bed and not much else besides his work supplies.
“I just don’t see why a bookshelf is necessary, Luitenant, I can download any literary work I could possibly desire without it taking up space that could be used for-”
“Because you can’t beat the feeling of a real book, Connor, now shut up about it and tell me which one you like more.” Hank gestured between a line of shelving.
Connor hummed and stood next to him “well, I do see the aesthetic appeal of this white one, and it could come in handy for storing case files.”
“That’s the spirit.” Hank patted Connor’s back, a touch lower than he intended but Connor didn’t react so he supposed it was fine. He then turned Connor towards the seating area “go find some chairs you like or something and I’ll handle this.”
He watched Connor wander off to test chairs with the same contemplative look as he’d had all day. Hank rolled his eyes before making a note of the bookshelf model and going to help the android.
“How many chairs do I need?” He asked, having found a large blue armchair.
Hank shrugged and checked the price tag attached to the armrest “probably enough for a couple people to hang out in, you planning on throwing any big parties?”
“Should I? Housewarming parties are customary I supposed.”
“If you want. Just find a couple you like and then figure it out from there. What do you think of this one?” Hank slumped down in the matching chair beside Connor.
Connor mirrored his body language and leaned back “it is rather comfortable.”
It was the first time Connor had prioritized anything over his work that day, baby steps. “What do you say about getting two of these if you like them and… I don’t know, a couch and a coffee table or something?”
Connor stretched, his button-up shirt riding up a bit but not enough to expose “skin” before he nodded. It didn’t take as long as Hank had expected to get a basic set of furniture purchased and set up in Connor’s new apartment. Connor had asked him to stay longer to help him with a case but Hank had refused, insisting he would only stay of leisure and not for work, which was how they ended up sitting on Connor’s new couch with Hank reading aloud an article on his phone about “Ten Small Daily Changes Androids Can Make To Feel More at Home in a New Home.”
“You know it would be faster for me to read this on my own, correct?”
Hank shushed him and gave him a gentle nudge with his foot “one: purchase furniture you enjoy, check, this will give you various places throughout the home to complete tasks, lounge, or anything else you could want. Two: -” Hank stopped when Connor’s ring flashed red for just a second “what’s wrong, robot?”
Connor looked at the floor and exhaled, his back falling as he did, Hank never got over how human he looked. “Do you think I’ll ever be really human?”
Hank pursed his lips, as Connor was adjusting to autonomy, Hank was adjusting to showing emotions again but this conversation was more than a bit out of his comfort zone “honestly, no. You’re gonna be better, though. You don’t have to be exactly like humans, all this isn’t to make you human, it’s to make you… I don’t know, you. Does that make sense?”
Connor shook his head “no, but I trust in time I will come to understand.”
Hankcon is a new ship for me writing wise so I apologize for using this prompt just to get their characters down. I’d love to write more if yall want to send me more. Thanks for reading!

DID YOU LIKE MY COUNTDOWN!? That was fun! I had fun. That was actually more fun than I thought it would be! There were too many good posts to name. It was very fun reading all your comments and theories.  Though side note: animal anon has no problem with people joining her BUT it must be animals and it must not mess with my countdown. No statues! Animal anon does animals, not statues. Side side note: can someone settle the debate of if that emoji is a hedgehog or a porcupine? Because I have no idea. Side note side note side note: sorry if you got multiple asks in a day...my system isn't perfected yet so sometimes I send two (or three) because I forgot I sent one and didn't want to accidently miss anyone (also sorry if i did miss you, still perfecting the system, no one has been animal anon blacklisted, i promise!)
Anyway, GUESS WHAT TODAY IS!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 It's been one year since I started animal anon! How exciting is that?! Phew, what a year we've had together! I mean what better way to start this second year than some chaos since that's how animal anon started to begin with! I will admit, it was slightly stressful coming up with something to meet the occasion of this event. I hope the countdown and this post live up to it. No, I'm not going to reveal myself just yet.. maybe that will be for year 2...😏😏. BUT I will give you some fun facts about me! So let's see; first, I'm from the Midwest (so not Canadian, but close so I do have a slight accent), but I currently live in the TriState area. Second, I am a MASSIVE theater nerd. No, seriously I have been to 21 shows since Broadway reopened in September and I'm actually going to my 22nd tonight. I don't know if this makes that fact better or worse, but I've really only been to about 12 different show because out of those 22, 10 of those are one specific show. Third, I am fluent in German and English. Though, I suck at writing in German, I never learned how to, so don't ask me to do that please. Fourth, my favorite color is red, so you can guess my favorite Taylor album (and coincidently also the show I've been to see 10 times on Broadway...). Fifth, I love to talk A LOT if you couldn't tell by the essays I send yall. And lastly, I can also confirm I am not Taylor...but I will say that I do share something very important with her... tell me your guesses down below as to what very important thing you think Taylor and I have in common, and I'll send some extra animals to whomever I see gets it right first!
So contuining on with my dissertation here, this week I have been trying to figure out a prompt to live up to this occasion. As I already mentioned, my system isn't perfect! And I've been thinking a lot about community lately and how that's been lacking for so many because of Covid. So what I want yall to do is if you get this dissertation of mine, please send a message, post, anon, whatever you want to at least 1 other blog (though you can do more), telling them something you like about them and giving them an animal emoji! That way we can keep spreading the love all day long to as many as possible! 🥰
As always, you are all brilliant, kind, worthy, beautiful and as this past week has shown, hilarious and unique human beings. No seriously, some of your posts had me kneeling over in laughter. If you would so like, you can tag #animalanon so I and everyone can read all your lovely posts! IM STARTING EARLY TODAY SO WE CAN PARTY ALL DAY LONG BECAUSE I LOVE YALL SO MUCH 🎊 🦥🦁🐯

ANIMAL ANON!!!! 🐰🐻🦊🦁 I got so excited seeing this in my ask box!!!! 😊
It’s so great learning more about you. I love how much you love Broadway! I’d love to see even just one Broadway show in my life someday. I still can’t think of you are but I’m guessing you’re one of my treasured mutuals 😊 Red is also my fave Taylor album 🙌❤️ Something you have in common with Taylor? 🤔 Do you have the same lucky number? Do you also write songs?
Thank you for creating this whole thing. It is adorable, hilarious and fun!!! 💕💕💕💕
Also it’s definitely a hedgehog 🦔
