“A pumpkin,” Legend deadpanned, arms crossed and eyebrow raised.

Sky held out his arms and looked down at his costume, then back at Legend with a smirk. “You’re just jealous of my pumpkin.”

Legend scoffed. “You look like a toddler.”

“Pumpkins are not only for toddlers!”

Twilight threw his arm around Sky’s shoulders. Sky’s pumpkin was so large that Twilight’s arm ended up just draping across the top of the costume, but it was the thought that counts.

“I think he looks cute,” Twilight said. Sky beamed.

“Fitting, since you’re in a toddler costume,” Legend said.

Sky smiled his special smile, the one he knew made the others fear him. “Legend. My dear friend. If you insult my pumpkin one more time, I will have no choice but to shove you inside my backup pumpkin costume for the rest of the night.”

“Backup pumpkin? You have two of that?”

Sky leaned forward. “Was that an insult?”

Legend’s eyes went wide. “Uh, nope. Nope, just… impressed with the dedication.”

Sky’s smile settled into a normal grin. “Good.”

Twilight chuckled and smirked. “Good choice, Legend. Your costume is much better for impressing Ravio at the party, anyway.”

Legend sputtered, ears going bright red. Sky and Twilight laughed. Legend was saved from having to respond when Wild burst through the door.

“Ta da!” Wild exclaimed. He was wearing a headband with large, fuzzy ears, a skin-tight grey crop top, a short, fitted fuzzy skirt with a poofy tail, knee-high leg warmers covered in faux fur, fuzzy fingerless gloves, and sharp black stilettos.

Legend whistled.

Wild beamed at Twilight. “I’m you!”

Twilight sighed deeply. “What have I done to deserve this.”
