Would you like to see showa style hensei kamen rider?

You mean kr sango? Or you mean a reimagine like amazons. Or a reiwa rider with showa values and themes? Bc if the later, I don't think showa values and themes really left (outside of the lone hero stuff, that is never coming back) they show up in one way or the other.

But when it comes to my wishslit, a showa style modern rider it just ain't it cheif, there's already the showa riders to watch, wanting new stuff just like the old but new sounds like something the fucking the g*mers™ want

I want to see new new stuff, there's more opportunities and uncharted territory in this genre to make something new if you look out in the reality, or just blend with other genres (like everything else in media is made).

I wasn't expecting them to look so good because the idea of "showa-styled heisei riders" would lead me to believe for the designs to just boil down to making them look completely insectoid. While I do see that a little bit here, it's nice how they've only tweaked the design a bit to make it look like something that came straight out of the 60's-70's.

Fourze, OOO, W, Hibiki, and Kabuto look good here. I wonder why Ghost and Gaim are missing?

Okay, let’s calm down and please give me time to answer these (even if there aren’t many haha). I got a bit overwhelmed upon seeing these after I woke up this morning

Infinity Style (Kamen Rider Wizard)

This isn’t because Wizard was my first KR + I’m one of the few who appreciates Wizard as it is - okay, some of that totals in, but I genuinely love Haruto’s final form more than anything

The aesthetic is a diamond and it’s white-blue - what’s there not to like?! Haruto was like mana-less at the time but seeing Koyomi go “dead” had him decide to screw everything because he loves her so much he’d put his own life over hers and then he formed an ultimate style with his own magic

I live for every time Haruto does the henshin, Dragon descends from the heavens and Haruto gets surrounded by glass/diamond before it shatters - some fine power up right there!

Friendship my rear end, I’m calling it the power of love - and diamonds, I’m reading so much into this I’m cackling

It’s not every day Toei makes a couple that 1) I ship and 2) I don’t need to write much for because it’s wonderful

Plus the thing’s indestructible, Haruto’s got a bad case of love

Also it has a long coat. I toss away all sense of reasoning when it comes to long coats, I can’t deny how wonderful they are

TaJaDor (Kamen Rider OOO)

Technically Eiji has like five final forms but he’s got a connection with Ankh so I’m tossing those other four out of the window

The thing flies, for goodness sake - and when he first henshins into it, there’s peacock feathers - that entire bird concept is my aesthetic and it’s cool that they didn’t simply go obvious with Ankh’s power set by including flames of all things

Okay, the thing is red considering Japan considers that colour a heroic colour (no wonder Sentai keeps getting Red Ranger focus COUGH) but I think no other red ultimate form can match the sense of honour, trust and friendship in that form. Ankh had been an anti-hero/villain, became a villain full-time and then switched to heroism for good in his dying moments - you jerk who told you to die - and Eiji is the one who is able to handle that massive power

The announcement of TaJaDor is lit, it’s like they’re summoning a king from the underworld (and rightfully so - ANKH)

Genius Form (Kamen Rider Build)

Because I’m forever biased about Sento Rabbit Kiryuu

I think being able to purify Nebula Gas-induced people is a useful ability, but the show forgot about it after getting the last Lost Bottle so *shrugs*

Also it has wonderful super speed on the likes of Hiromu Sakurada’s powers

The base colour is my favourite shade - white - and then we have all these bottles that give Sento some rainbow into the mix. I’m not exactly a fan of the design to be honest but it’s got a charm I like

It definitely shows how far Sento has come + isn’t it pure delicious that he made it from a panel of the Pandora Box

The henshin sequence features a prize giving podium I need scream

Hyper Muteki (Kamen Rider Ex-Aid)

Not a big fan of the dreadlocks but I think the face is cute! Also it’s rare for ultimate KR power ups to be gold these days (unless we’re talking Emperor Kiva form)

I just like the idea of Emu handing everyone their just desserts with that form, thank you

Cosmic States (Kamen Rider Fourze)

The form isn’t a particular design favourite for me since I think it’s a bit on the clunky side + how does the suit actor move in that thing, but the power of friendship is more than enough to compensate because of course Gentarou would get something like that

He kicks the monsters in space!! HOW IS THAT NOT AWESOME

And it’s thankfully coloured the right shade of blue, that’s the colour of my soul as I yell in all matters of friendship

Type Tridoron (Kamen Rider Drive)

I only ranked it higher than the others because this is the form I’m more familiar with. I’m actually quite “meh” about this form, though I think the debut was amazing and 001 deserved what was coming for him, you Shinnosuke-killing, Kiriko-crying jerk

I suppose the fact that Shinnosuke and Mr. Belt can switch gears is a neat fact + another reference towards cars, this show really doesn’t lighten up on them to the point of narm at times - but it’s ranked quite low since I have issues with Mr. Belt as of late

W, Gaim and Ghost

The only reason why they’re ranked lower is because I’m unfamiliar with the final forms. My opinions will change after I watched their series in full, so there’s that

So what did you think of Ex Aid?

Okay so here's my rundown. I wasn't a fan of EX-AID at first. The lv1 forms seemed lazy and the fact that it took over 25 episodes for our 3 main riders to actually work together drove me crazy. That said, after rewatching the entire series two weeks ago and finally having access to the 'True Ending' movie, I can say that I really appreciated EX-AID and I hold it as one of the best Neo-Hensei era seasons of Kamen Rider.The plot was pretty slow at first and the constant level up forms got really old and repetitive fast, but once Dan got Dangerous Zombie and Pallad got his Gashat Gear Duel, the series started getting really good, really fast. The arc where Emu is trying to find his Bugster, (and ultimately discovers its Pallad) and then begins to try to keep Pallad out of his mind/body, and ultimately succeeds at the cost of losing Mighty Brothers XX was actually pretty engaging and it was that arc where Snipe and Brave began to put their differences aside to fight the greater evil that was Dan and Pallad.The final arc of the series where Kamen Rider Khronos was introduced is probably my absolute favorite of the entire series. Khronos was a terrifying villain. He didn't care about anyone or anything. Everyone was just property in his game. He was just pure evil, even his henshin jingle makes it VERY clear that he IS the final boss. It was great watching the futile battles between the main riders and the man who was essentially their god. My only complaint from the arc was the resurrection of Kiria AKA Kamen Rider Lazer. It felt like complete fan service and he never really got the redemption he deserved.The official ending (TV VERSION) was really satisfying and felt like it wrapped up the show pretty well. Then there's the Movie, EX-AID True Ending;This movie/ending was....okay?I loved the Ninja Ride Players and by far, the greatest henshin jingle of the Neo-Hensei era came from Mighty Creator VRX. The main problems I had was that the plot was rushed, we had a few new characters join in that felt like they should've been in the TV show before the movie, and the reveal that the weeaboo CEO behind the Ninja Chronicles game was Gemdeus all along felt like a big middle finger to the series. Also as like, a side complaint, Mighty Creator VRX was shown as this godly Gashat that can surpass Hyper Muteki, but it had less than 5 minutes of screen time before it just kinda vanishes at the HALFWAY POINT DAMMIT. This is not a good review of EX-AID. So if you're considering watching the series, DO IT. The characters were great, the story was fun, and the fight choreography was some of the best in recent Kamen Rider history.
