An Evening With Henry Cole
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Five-date theatre tour gives fans chance to get up close and personal with TV’s Henry Cole. Henry Cole fans will be able to get up close and personal with the man himself, as the effervescent presenter of Shed and Buried and The Motorbike Show embarks on his first ever theatre tour in 2024. ‘An Evening With Henry Cole’ takes place at five intimate theatre venues throughout April and May, and will take fans on a deep dive through Henry’s fascinating life and career. Henry’s old mucker and former racing supremo Steve “Stavros” Parrish, will be hosting each of the shows. Steve will guide Henry through his incredibly varied life, covering his battles with addiction in his late teens/early twenties; his 32 years in the TV and movie industry as a director, working in both film and advertising; the founding of HCA Entertainment - Henry’s TV Production company - and the journey into presenting. There will of course also be plenty of chat around his lifelong passion for motorcycles and the tinkering and restoring of vintage machinery. Plus a good smattering of fishing, tractors, cycling and most importantly his wife Janie, two sons Charlie and Tom, and his dog Jelly Bean. If that’s not enough, host Steve Parrish - former British Motorcycling champion, teammate to Barry Sheene and ex-MotoGP commentator - will doubtless pull out a few anecdotes along the way too. 'An Evening With Henry Cole' dates and venues are as follows: - 14th April 2024 - Princess Theatre, Hunstanton - 20th April 2024 - Capitol, Horsham - 30 April 2024 - Epsom Playhouse - 15 May 2024 - Stafford Gatehouse - 24th May 2024 - EMC, Harpenden Ticket prices are set by the venue, but typically start at around £30. Contact the venue directly for tickets and further details.

You can grow old disgracefully on this bike says TV star Henry Cole
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Iconic Auctioneers Biggest Ever Motorcycle Sale Of 245 Bikes Includes Tv Celebrity Henry Cole’s Bikes At The Nec 12th November. Iconic Auctioneers is delighted to bring its largest ever motorcycle sale to the NEC Classic Motor Show next month on 12th November. With a record entry of 245 auction lots, valued at over £1.5 million, among them are two bikes owned by Henry Cole, one of the best-known TV personalities from the world of motorcycles. Mark Bryan, Motorcycle Manager at Iconic Auctioneers comments: “I am delighted to bring two of the private bikes of the well-known motorcycle celebrity Henry Cole. Without a doubt his bikes will attract huge interest. He is a massive presence in the bike world with some 78 shows to his name.” The two bikes from Henry Cole, the TV celebrity from the Motorcycle Show and Shed and Buried include a 1961 Dresda Triton 750cc, allegedly used by Dave Degens as an early race bike but no paperwork to prove this - guided at £8,000 - £10,000.
Tumblr media
1961 Dresda Triton 750cc. GUIDE PRICE: £8,000 - £10,000 Speaking about the Triton Henry says: “The Dresda Triton was part of my upbringing and to own one has been a privilege. My God it does fly! It is the quintessential Café Racer designed for the ‘Ton-up- Boys’ and is the best of British Hooliganism! You can grow old disgracefully on this bike.” The second Henry Cole bike is a 2012 Norton Commando 961 SE Café Racer 961cc. This ‘one off’ was built specially for the TV Presenter but comes to auction with zero miles and never started! It even has the factory writing on the headlight 'Henry Cole', so it will require recommissioning before use.
Tumblr media
2012 Norton Commando 961 SE Café Racer 961cc. GUIDE PRICE: £13,000 - £15,000 Henry says of this bike: “When I bought it, I thought I was buying part of a great British motorcycle future. But of course, the collapse of Norton meant a lot of people including me burnt their fingers. The reason I never used the bike, not even once, was that it was sufficient just to know I owned one the of the 200 that Norton made. You buy stuff like this to reflect your success back to yourself, there is no need to even ride it. Pride of ownership is enough.” He owns some 40 bikes he says and only rides two and feels that this Norton should be used and enjoyed. “It’s a lovely thing to have. The bike was all about hope for the future of British bike manufacturing when I bought it – an iconic part of what was to be the Great British future.” For more information on the above-mentioned motorcycles along with all the others entered in the Motorcycle sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show on 12th November, please see www.iconicauctioneers.com.  If you have a motorcycle or collection that you are interested is selling, please contact their motorcycle specialists on +44 (0) 1926 691 141 or [email protected]. British duo set new record 2-up on a motorcycle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Engineering genius Allen Millyard and TV presenter Henry Cole have set a new world record for the “fastest tandem motorcycle” beating the top speed held by an American couple for over 10 years. Guinness World Records certified their top speed of 183.50 mph (295.31 km/h), giving them a clear margin over American couple Erin Hunter and Andy Sills, who reached 181.42 mph (291.98 km/h) at Bonneville Salt Flats in 2011. The pair met when Cole was filming The Motorbike Show in 2014 and the idea for the record attempt was hatched during planning for the latest series. On 25th May they headed to Elvington Airfield in North Yorkshire, which has a 3000-metre long runway. On their sixth and last attempt of the day, the friends finally bettered the existing record speed by two miles an hour. What makes their achievement even more remarkable is that their motorcycle was designed and built by Allen in the single car garage attached to his house. Ironically their biggest challenge was avoiding going too fast. The Millyard Viper V10 is powered by an 8-litre Dodge sports car engine, producing 500 bhp, which is more than double the power of a modern superbike. It is also three times as heavy, at almost 1400 lb (630 kg), so keeping it under control, particularly without a fairing to protect them from wind blast, required huge focus, skill and determination. “It felt ridiculously fast” says Allen. “Top marks to Henry for agreeing to do it. He showed complete confidence in my riding ability and my hand-built motorcycle, which is really flattering. And I knew he’d be a reliable pillion and wouldn’t panic, which could destabilise the bike, with disastrous consequences at high speed”.    “I didn’t really think we’d do it, but thanks to Allen and the bike he built in a little garage near Reading, we’re world record holders!” adds Henry. “It’s the biggest rush you’ll ever have!” Cole and Millyard won't be resting on their laurels - they are making plans for a rerun, with the target of breaking the 200 mph barrier! For information on all Henry’s TV shows, visit henrycole.tv  Find out more about the Millyard Viper V10 on Allen’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@AllenMillyard Guinness World Records - originally the Guinness Book of Records - is the ultimate authority on record-breaking achievement, with offices in London, New York, Beijing, Tokyo and Dubai, and adjudicators on the ground around the world. See the official record on the Guinness World Records website at www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/101327-fastest-tandem-motorcycle For more news on Henry Cole and other tv related new check out our dedicated TV News page For more information on all programmes produced by Henry Cole visit henrycole.tv
