In 2014 I started watching Supernatural, and I fancast Jensen Ackles as an OC in my White Collar fanfic series Caffrey Conversation. The portrayal of Dean in SPN had the angst, protectiveness, and humor I wanted for my Henry Winslow character. So Henry looked like Dean circa SPN season 1. Was that entirely consistent with how I originally described Henry? No, but I liked the fancasting too much and I just went with it. And then...

I introduced my co-author @silbrith to SPN, and she created a sub-series of Caffrey Conversation that was a crossover with SPN. But now we had two characters -- Henry and Dean -- who looked exactly alike. And then...

Did we have Dean and Henry impersonate each other? Of course! Silbrith wrote that plot line and traced them back to a common ancestor, too.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of crossovers and the wild things you can do in them, and Henry remains my all-time favorite fanfic OC.
