2018 Ski & Snowboard Movie Premier Season Is Here!
Labor Day has finally come and gone. The days are getting shorter and the nights have replaced the mid-summer heat with a cool crispness throughout the mountains. Soon the white mana from the sky will fall, but until then, it’s time for our next favorite season. No, it’s not fall… but rather the 2018 ski & snowboard movie premiere season! Keep checking in as we continue to add to this list as more ski & snowboard movie trailers are released.
2018 Ski Movie Premieres
Teton Gravity Research – Far Out Film
Far Out embodies the imagination as much as it does a physical space. It is the quest to seek out undiscovered realms and inspire new waves of creativity, enlightenment and progression. It is the quest to be blown away.
youtube
The film follows the perspective of an athlete as he embarks on a journey to one of the most remote and unexplored mountain ranges on the planet, the Albanian Alps. While the final destination appears to be the ultimate goal, it is the collective of athletes, experiences and the array of locations around the world that inevitably drive the season’s adventure.
Witness mind-bending pillow lines as the crew camps out deep in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia. Experience urban madness in Kamchatka and the insanity of the Crazy Mountains in Montana. Join the crew in the Slovenian Alps for over-the-head cold smoke and watch an 11-year-old rip Jackson Hole. Discover the alien landscape of Girdwood, Alaska in January and see Sean Jordan ride into Crested Butte on a black stallion to shred the Southern Rockies. Find out if the wildest and most untamed mountains in Europe let us in and if the ultimate destination became a reality.
Featuring
Angel Collinson, Cam Riley, Clayton Vila, Colter Hinchliffe, Dane Tudor, Elyse Saugstad, Fabian Lentsch, Griffin Post, Hadley Hammer, Ian McIntosh, Jeremy Jones, Johnny Collinson, Kai Jones, Mark Carter, Nick McNutt, Parkin Costain, Robin Van Gyn, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Sam Smoothy, Sean Jordan and Tim Durtschi
Shot On Location

Matchstick Productions – Hoji
Eric Hjorleifson lets his skiing speak for itself. He doesn’t stand on the bar and shout out his accolades… he skis for brands that give him 100% creative control over the equipment that he designs and uses… he chases storms… he ditches his cell phone for weeks at a time.
vimeo
His exploits are rarely flaunted on social media. In spite of all of this – or maybe because of it – he is a hero to legions of skiers across the globe. This is who Eric is – this is “HOJI”.
Featuring
Directed by Scott Gaffney and featuring Eric Hjorleifson, Chris Rubens, James Heim and more
Matchstick Productions – All In
This film embodies the spirit of past Matchstick films with high-action ski segments, visually stunning imagery and engaging humor. Follow the crew from the lift-accessed terrain of Snowbird to the dreamworlds of Japan and Alaska amplified by a soundtrack that will be on everyone’s ski playlist next year. This film is light on story, high on action and full of fun loving personality. ALL IN is a reference to the commitment the athletes have to their sport while simultaneously alluding to the inclusionary nature of skiing.
youtube
Featuring
Angel Collinson, MichelleParker, Tatum Monod, Elyse Saugstad, Mark Abma, Wiley Miller, Johnny Collinson and Cody Townsend
Shot On Location
British Columbia, Alaska, Utah, Washington, Japan and South America
Level 1 Productions – Zig Zag
Definition of Zigzag:
1. a pattern created using alternating course. 2. another word for skiing.
vimeo
Following nearly two decades of ski movie pedigree, Level 1 documents a lifestyle of contradiction. Timeless ephemera. Love and money. Natural and synthetic. Powder and slush. Stagnant and innovative. Untracked and well-travelled. Consistent but not predictable. Swerving left, right and diagonal, yet never asleep at the wheel.
Featuring
Parker White, Laurent De Martin, Sämi Ortlieb, Chris Logan, Will Berman, Keegan Kilbride, Will Wesson, Thayne Rich, Peyben Hägglund, KC Deane, LJ Strenio, Khai Krepela, Kim Boberg, Oliver Karlberg, Tanner Rainville, Duncan Adams, Ahmet Dadali, McRae Williams and Friends.

Eagle Pass Heli, BC. Sunshine Village, Banff. Mt Baker, Washington. Sweden. Gran Masta Park, Switzerland. Hokkaido, Japan. Moscow, Russia. Helsinki, Finland. Whistler, BC. Colorado. Montana. Michigan. Minnesota.
Tanner Hall – Here After
Featuring huge backcountry jumps, seemingly endless pillow lines, mind blowing deep powder, and greasy urban rails proving once again why he’s one of the best out there on two planks.
vimeo
Tanner Hall “Here After” Teaser from ARMADA SKIS on Vimeo.
Featuring
Tanner Hall, John Spriggs, Henrik Harlaut, Pat Goodnough, Taylor Seaton and “B Devine”
Shot on Location
Montana, Alaska, California and Sweden

Teton Gravity Research – Ode To Muir Film
youtube
Teton Gravity’s newest film Ode To Muir pairs professional snowboarder, adventurer and founder of Protect Our Winters Jeremy Jones with two-time Olympian Elena Hight as they embark on a 40-mile foot-powered expedition deep into California’s John Muir Wilderness. Their journey balances the challenges of winter camping, grueling climbs up the Sierra’s biggest mountains, and aesthetic first descents with personal reflections on the importance of the natural world and those who first traveled it generations ago, all while sharing perspectives gleaned from what it truly means to explore a great American Wilderness.
Featuring
Jeremy Jones, Elena Hight
Shot On Location
John Muir Wilderness, California
Absinthe Films – …Stay Tuned
Expect an artistic endeavor about chasing the snow globally. In Absinthe’s words — Physically, mentally, intuitively…but really it’s just a movie about having fun
…and keeping your board tuned.
Featuring
Hans Mindnich, Nicolas Müller, Mat Schär, Brandon Cocard, Ben Ferguson, Severin Van Der Meer, Judd Henkes, Demetri Bales, Jed Sky, Aspen Weaver, Frank Jobin, Brock Crouch, Red Gerard, Kyle Mack, Cam Fitzpatrick, Mikkel Bang and John Jackson
Shot on Location
Cervinia (ITA), Utah, California, Wyoming, Montana (USA), Switzerland, British Columbia & Quebec City (CN)
Transworld Snowboarding – Future of Yesterday
It’s worth noting that the cast of snowboard films is often dictated more by politics than genuine relationships. The Future Of Yesterday is not.
youtube
This is a crew of actual friends, who just happen to be some of the best snowboarders in the world. Focused on doing what they want with who they want more than schedules or deadlines, the Cozy Bois have created a raucous film reminiscent of the days when there were less rules imposed on snowboarding. Enjoy this brief look into the season of one of the realest and rowdiest crews in snowboarding.
Featuring
Halldor Helgason, Tor Lundstrom, Kevin Backstrom, Ulrik Badertscher, Ethan Morgan, Eiki Helgason and Max Buri
Shot On Location
Japan, Italy, European RV Tour of Depression, Laax & Oregon

Humans Season 3 officially begins production
AMC and Channel 4 confirmed today that filming on Humans Season 3, the Kudos-produced, critically-acclaimed series, has commenced. With writers Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley leading the writing team, the series is set in a parallel present and explores what happens when the lines between humans and machines are blurred. The eight-episode third season is slated to premiere next year.
Joining the cast this season is Catastrophe and Apple Tree Yard star Mark Bonnar. Bonnar plays Neil Sommer, an intriguingly charming scientist on a government commission with whom Laura develops a strong personal connection. He joins series regulars Gemma Chan, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Emily Berrington, Colin Morgan, Ivanno Jeremiah and Ruth Bradley.
Season 3 provides a thrilling look at the evolution of technology and its effect on society. Timely and relevant, the new season unfolds on a bigger scale than ever before, in a deeply divided Britain, and continues to ask the question: Are sentient synths entitled to be treated as human?
Returning one year after the dawn of consciousness, a decimated and oppressed Synth population fights to survive in a world that hates and fears them. In a divided Britain, Synths and humans struggle to broker an uneasy peace, but when fractures within the Synth community itself start to appear, all hope of stability comes under threat.
Set against the maelstrom of political chaos, the ethical complexities of the dawn of a new species play out across a thrilling multi-stranded narrative. As the synth family, Mia (Chan), Niska (Berrington) and Max (Jeremiah) continue to battle for their right to survival, Joe (Goodman-Hill), Laura (Parkinson) and their children Mattie, Toby and Sophie struggle to come to terms with the cataclysmic events of the last season and their deeply polarised views on the implications of the singularity.
Humans is written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley (Spooks: The Greater Good), Debbie O’Malley, Namsi Khan, Jonathan Harbottle, Melissa Iqbal and Daisy Coulam. It is based on the award-winning Swedish sci-fi drama Real Humans, created by Lars Lundstrom and produced by SVT and Matador Film.
The new season is executive produced by Derek Wax, Emma Kingsman-Lloyd, Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley for Kudos in association with Wild Mercury Productions; Lars Lundstrom and Henrik Widman for Matador Films; and is produced by Vicki Delow for Kudos. The third season was commissioned for Channel 4 by Beth Willis and Simon Maxwell, and Kristin Jones for AMC.

Evil (Ondskan) (2006)
Evil (Ondskan) - Starring 'Andreas Wilson'. This is essentially the worth watching film for its emotional and yet practical message to the youths around the world. It's got suspense and psychic-elements. Set in Sweden in World War II - The film is based on Jan Guillou's semi-autobiographical novel with the same name from 1981. The message is quite clear, Erik Ponti (Andreas Wilson) who is told by the headmaster of his school in the beginning, 'You're the evil, Erik!' - on way through the movie, the audience becomes the judge in deciding, about how the real 'evil' actually look like (and it's not Erik). 'Evils' can be in shape of Erik's sadistic stepfather - or, "Otto Silverhielm" (Gustaf Skarsgad) who leads the gang of elite that bullies the rest of low-class students - by means as deemed fit for them - playing psychological tortures on Erik and his roommate 'Pierre Tanguy' (Henrik Lundstrom). Watching 'Andreas Wilson', it can be understood that this was a fairest choice to play 'Erik Ponti' - because of his physique, charm, voice, posture and gutty-looks that send a chill. Apparently Andreas was unfamiliar with acting-skills, but no doubt he delivered what could have possibly be demanded for the role. Film offers complete answers to numerous questions that be cooking in audiences' minds, such as: "How exactly Erik is going to continue to bear his sadistic stepfather---when he returns from his boarding school (who usually beats him like an animal to utter non-interference from his mother to get involved?" Ondskan was nominated for "Best Foreign Language" Oscar award. A+ (90%)
