Hello again, I would like to request a continuation of the story of Henrietta Pam and James Van Dyne
Maybe something about their daily life at the base.
Or about their interactions with their new team members and other superheroes.
The insect duo is back! Time to see what little misadventures and activities they have been going through.
Hope you enjoy!
Henrietta and James: Slice of Life
SFW, Platonic, Human reader
YJ
With all the hero’s work around, Henrietta was backed up a bit on her work for the university.
She didn’t know how this new scheduling was going to work out in the long run.
She was already running on fumes with her late-night projects and work at the cave.
James on the other hand seemed to be taking everything in stride.
He was the happiest that she had ever seen him, now to think about it.
Being a hero now meant that he was barely around the lab anymore.
Instead, James opted to stay around the mountain and flying around.
As much as Henrietta cared for her friend and covered for him in his duties, she couldn’t help but feel ignored.
James was one of her only friends around her age, so his absence was much more noticeable.
Henrietta gets a call from James. She eagerly answers it. Henrietta: “James?” James: “Hey Henny, just calling to let ya know I’m staying with the guys a bit longer today.” Henrietta deflates a bit. Henrietta: “James you can’t keep doing this. I keep on doing your work—” James: “Which you are doing a great job at, by the way. You know you’re the best at this Henny.” Henrietta sighs. Henrietta: “James…” James: “Please! Just one more time Henny! Please! Next bookstore and food run is on me!” Henrietta: “…I’m too good for you James. Go on, I’ll handle things here.” James: “Yes! You are the best Henrietta Pym!” Henrietta: “But this is the last time—” James: “Thank you Henny! Again, you’re the best!” The phone hangs up.
A few minutes later the door to her lab opened.
Without looking up, she politely asked whoever was there if they had an appointment.
Batman’s voice snapped her out of her concentration.
She banged her head on the table before hurriedly standing up straight to face the Dark Knight.
He shortly stated that she was needed at the Watch Tower.
Henrietta simply nodded and followed him while hurriedly grabbing her equipment.
If Batman told you to go somewhere, you just go.
Next stop, the Watch Tower.
This would have been Henrietta’s first time up there.
She couldn’t help but let her excitement spill out seeing the advanced technology and get a front row seat to the planet through the giant window.
Henrietta missed Batman’s little smile.
After the little moment of excitement, the two got to work on the issue.
The issues that was…
… There were ants in the Tower.
…A tower in space had been infected by regular Earth ants.
…
Batman stated that no matter how much the team and cleaning staff had cleaned somehow the ants had managed to make some sort of nest.
Henrietta looks at Batman absolutely baffled. Henrietta: “So let me get this straight. You came to get me from my job… to solve your ant problem?” Batman: “Is that a problem?” Henrietta: “Not at all! It’s just… not something I expected honestly.” Batman: “And I didn’t think I would have ants in space.” She snorts a bit before composing herself. Henrietta: “Let me see what I can do—WOAH!” A blur passes by her nearly making her fall if someone hadn’t caught her. She had been around Wally enough to know when a speedster was around. The Flash gave an apologetic look before setting her up straight. Flash: “Sorry about that. Wait your that ant hero aren’t you?” Henrietta: “I go by Ant Girl sir.” Flash: “Oh, there’s no need for that formality with me kid. But you are here for the ant problem, right?” Henrietta: “Yeah, but I don’t think—” Flash: “Oh thank goodness! My granola is saved!” Meanwhile with the rest of the Young Justice… The team is at the beach having a blast. James is sunbathing. M’gann and Kaldur walk over. M’gann: “Where’s Ant Girl? Did she not want to come?” James waves her off. James: “Don’t worry about it. Henny’s fine. She’s having one of those lab days. As long as she doesn’t stay there for more than 3 days it’ll be fine.” Kaldur: “Surely that isn’t healthy. And what happens after 3 days?” James shrugs. James: “Don’t know. Maybe she turns into an ant?”
Back at the Watch Tower.
Turns out the problem was a bit more… complicated than originally thought.
After shrinking down, Henrietta had taken Antony down into the cracks of the Watch Tower.
She was surprised at how many nests there were down there.
Thankfully the ants were nice enough to hear negotiations.
They were surprisingly very polite as well.
Henrietta had the ants’ words and grew back to size.
Henrietta: “I have their demands.” Wonder Woman: “The ants have demands?” Batman: “They want demands?” She just shrugs. Pulls out her notebook. Henrietta: “First off they want some—" Green Lantern: “You actually took down their demands!” Henrietta: “Are you going to continue to interrupt me?” Some leaguers blink in surprise at the girl’s sudden talk. She clears her throat. Henrietta: “Top of the list, granola. They want the sweet granola bites Flash keeps on dropping near the trash bin. Only the brand Flash gets, and I quote ‘Flash gets the honey bites with the big walnuts in them. Under no circumstances will you get Green Lantern’s. Hal Jordan only gets the off brand one’s. Bret ate one time and lost 2 of his legs.’” Green Lantern blinks. Green Lantern: “How—How does the ant know—” Henrietta: “The ants know a lot of things Mr. Jordan. And for the record, yes, I did meet Bret.” Flash to Batman: “What do you think Bats?” Batman: “… Is there more?” Henrietta: “There is actually. A whole list, sir.” Batman: “Read it all.”
The ants demands mainly revolved around extra food and a safer place to nest.
Henrietta was asked to take the ants home, but she mentioned her housing situation was currently at the base since her apartment was no longer an option.
After a few more hours of negotiations between the Leaguers and ant colonies, peace was made.
The ants would not wander in restricted and crowded areas if they were given a bigger and safer home with plenty of food.
Specifically with Flash’s sweet granola be stockpiled.
And one more demand that had to be made.
That Henrietta would come and visit weekly.
At the Cave… The team is walking in from their day at the beach. There is a bundle on the couch covered with a blanket. Artemis: “What’s that?” James looks over and chuckles a bit. James: “Its probably Henny. That’s her blanket.” Connor: “I can take a look—” James runs over and leaps on the pile. Artemis: “Or just jump on the pile.” James: “Geez Henny did you forget to eat? Why are you—AAAAHHHH!!!!” The team runs up to James who jumps back from the couch. There is a human sized ant on the couch. James: “SHE TURNED INTO AN ANT!” M’gann: “I thought you said she would be fine before 3 days!” James: “So did I!” The ant starts raising its mandibles in defense. Robin: “Sheesh, you weren’t kidding about her liking ants so much.” Henrietta walks in with more blankets and some cookies. Henrietta: “Bret I tried finding more nuts, but I only found—” She stops seeing the team and the giant ant. Henrietta: “Oh! You guys are back. See Bret, I told you they’d come.” James: “Henrietta Pym why did you make one of your ants big again!?” Henrietta: “First off James von Dyne, I don’t think you are in the position to lecture me. Second, he wanted to come back to earth after being in space.” Connor: “Space?” Kaldur: “Again?” Wally: “…You did not just name the ant Bret.” Henrietta: “That’s his name Wally. If you have a problem with that bring it up to him.”

Janet Van Dyne (E-1285), from her big mutant coming out at the Krakoan Hellfire Gala
Born a mutant with the power to shift her physical size and mass at will, Jan’s ex-husband Hank based much of his life’s work on studying a replicating her powers--despite his main field of study being robotics--going so far as name the associated artificial version he created “Pym Particles” and claiming to have created them himself. While he pushed her to debut with him as “Ant-Girl” she settled on “The Wasp” which was seen by some as a pointed jab at her husband’s initial moniker of “Ant-Man” and at the wider White Anglo-Saxon Protestant society that she struggled to fit into as a Chinese-American girl long before she faced the struggle of being a mutant human in a baseline human world.
Approached by Charles Xavier, Janet became one of the first X-Men, forming a bond with Alex Summers that would blossom into romance years, their daughter Katie becoming the Wasp of the Age of M.
As one of the few mutants to cross the X-Men-Avengers divide, Jan is occasionally referred to as “The Most Famous Mutant in the World” alongside Henrietta Hunter and The Scarlet Witch.

Quote
If I had gone back to London, Lucy thought, I would have had no share in this. What would I be doing? Eleven o'clock. Going for a walk in the Park and deciding how to get out of being guest of honour at some literary dinner. Instead I have this. And all because Dr. Knight wanted to go to a medical conference tomorrow. No, because once long ago Henrietta stood up for me at school. It was odd to think that this sun-lit moment in an English June began to take shape thirty years ago in a dark crowded school cloakroom filled with little girls putting on their galoshes. What were first causes, anyhow?

The Infamous Countess of Carlisle
by Cryssa Bazos One of the most intriguing characters in historical fiction is Milady de Winter of the Three Musketeers. Alexandre Dumas depicted her as a lethal spy whose loyalties were sold to the highest bidder, notably the Cardinal Richelieu. The inspiration for Milady was a socialite and renowned beauty of her day, Lucy Hay, Countess of Carlisle. Though Lucy was not an agent of Cardinal Richelieu, she held court at a time of social upheaval when men were drawing battle lines against King Charles I. The real woman was even more fascinating than the fictional one.
Lucy Percy, by Anthony van Dyck [Public Domain] via Wikimedia Commons
Lucy Hay was born Lucy Percy in 1599 to Lady Dorothy Devereux and Henry Percy, the 9th Earl of Northumberland. Lady Devereux was the daughter of the Earl of Essex and Lettice Knollys whose second husband, Robert Dudley the Earl of Leicester, had once been a favourite of Queen Elizabeth, that is until he and Lettice married without the Queen's permission. Through her maternal line, Lucy was the great, great granddaughter of Mary Boleyn, sister to Anne Boleyn. On Lucy's father's side, the Percys were an old and respected bloodline having first arrived with William the Conqueror, and later, descendants of King Henry III. The family stood for centuries as the bulwark against Scottish and Welsh invasion of England. Given Lucy's stellar connections, she was well poised to be a courtly influence.
Unfortunately, her early years were marked by notoriety and not the favourable kind. When Lucy had been six years old, her father had been implicated in the Gunpowder Plot (to blow up Parliament and murder King James I) due to his kinship with one of the leading conspirators, Thomas Percy. For the next seventeen years, Lucy's father was a prisoner of the Tower of London (along with famous prisoner Sir Walter Raleigh) and during this time Percy indulged his interest in alchemy and chemistry. He was committed to his experiments (even lost the hearing of one ear) and everyone called him the "Wizard Earl."
While Henry languished in the Tower, Lucy's mother tried to secure her husband's release. She appealed to her friend Queen Anne, who put in a good word with her husband, King James I, but unfortunately the King levied a crippling fine that the Percys couldn't afford and they found their estates seized. This was Lucy's early introduction to the influence women could yield in politics as well as the fickleness of royal prerogative [1]. Sometime around 1617, Lucy Percy caught the eye of James Hay, who would become the 1st Earl of Carlisle. At the time he was a baron and a widower. Her father was furious. His imprisonment put him at a disadvantage to squelch his daughter's choice, particularly since his wife favoured the match. Henry Percy did not have a high opinion of the Scottish faction at court, the courtiers who had followed King James to England upon his ascension of the English throne, and James Hay was one of the King's more extravagent favourites. Henry Percy had been reputed to say, "I am a Percy and I cannot endure that my daughter should dance any Scottish jig."
James Hay, 1st Earl of Carlisle, by Unknown National Portrait Gallery: NPG 5210 [Public Domain] via Wikimedia Commons
James Hay was not considered a handsome man, but he was suave, charismatic and knew how to entertain in style. He introduced Lucy to a sophisticated set, lavished her with courtly masques, fine music and theatre. For an ambitious woman like Lucy, James Hay was irresistible. More importantly, he pulled her from the shadow of her father's disgrace straight into the royal limelight. In November 1617, Lucy became James Hay's second wife. Her wedding was attended by the fashionable and the powerful, including Charles, Prince of Wales and George Villiers (later the Duke of Buckingham). In the early days of Lucy's marriage, her husband served as a Privy Councillor and a Groom of the Stool. Between 1618 and 1622, Hay travelled to foreign courts on behalf of the King, counselled the King on the growing troubles in Germany and recommended England's support for the Protestants in Bohemia and the Palatinate. He was a voice for the Huguenots in France though not a successful one. In 1622, the King made him the 1st Earl of Carlisle and Lucy became a Countess. Lucy flourished in the years to come, greatly celebrated for her beauty and accomplishments. She had a gift for politics and intrigues, enjoyed poetry and theatre, and cultivated admirers by the score. In later years when she contracted small pox, the entire court feared that she would be disfigured. For a time, she wore masks to hide her healing face and managed to turn them into a fashion statement. Fortunately for Lucy, the disease did not leave lasting scars. Men waxed poetic over Lucy's charms. One admirer, John Suckling, wrote a risqué poem about the bewitching Countess of Carlisle in the form of a dialogue between himself and another admirer of hers, Thomas Carew. The poem was entitled, Upon My Lady Carlisle's Walking in Hampton Court Gardens. Here is one of the stanzas:
"Twas well for thee she left the place; There is great danger in that face. But hadst thou viewed her leg and thigh, And upon that discovery Searched after parts that are more dear"
Lucy and James Hay's star continued to rise after the ascension of the new king, Charles I, and the growing influence of his favourite, George Villiers, the Duke of Buckingham. Lucy was rumoured to have been Buckingham's mistress, and through Buckingham's influence, she was appointed Lady of Queen Henrietta's Bedchamber, while her husband received a similar honour for the King.
It suited Buckingham to install Lucy as a companion to Queen Henrietta Maria, in order to be informed of the Queen's visitors and activities. The Queen was passionately against Lucy's appointment. After all, Lucy was beautiful, witty and entirely Buckingham's creature, and as her duties brought her in close contact with the King, Henrietta feared that Buckingham worked to install Lucy as the King's mistress. Charles was not so easily led astray and resisted Lucy's charms; he even refused the Queen's petition to get rid of her. Over time, Lucy overcame the Henrietta's suspicions and became a close confident to her. Through her proximity to the Queen, Lucy became the centre of fashionable society, gathering poets and politicians within her circle.
George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham By Michiel van Mierevelt [Public Domain] via Wikimedia Commons
It was around this time when the story of the French Queen's diamonds surfaced, made famous by Alexandre Dumas in The Three Musketeers. A 17th century French diarist, Francois, Duc de La Rochefoucauld (Prince de Marcillac) wrote in his memoirs that Lucy stole the diamond studs that Anne of Austria, Queen of France, had given to her admirer Buckingham. Lucy's motives were reputed to be revenge for having been jilted by Buckingham by his obsession with the Queen. Dumas borrowed heavily from Rochefoucauld's memoirs and created the character of Milady de Winter in Lucy's image.
James Hay meanwhile continued his diplomatic service for Charles I, engaging in intrigues against Cardinal Richelieu of France and was even named Governor of the Caribbees. Eventually his health failed, and he died in 1636. Now Lucy found herself a wealthy widow, and it gave her a degree of freedom that she had never previously enjoyed before. Though she would not be shy of male companionship, she never remarried and so maintained her independence. During this chapter of her life, she fell in love with Thomas Wentworth, the Earl of Strafford. Intense, serious and ambitious, Strafford was the exact opposite of Lucy's late husband. Strafford had at one point been a vocal supporter for the rights of Parliament against royal prerogative, but he eventually switched sides to become one of the King's most ardent supporters. As discontent against the King grew and the country headed toward civil war, Strafford became a scapegoat for the country's ills, and Parliament called for his impeachment. The impeachment failed but a bill of attainder was passed against him, and Charles I had no choice than to sign the attainder and seal Strafford's death. To read more about Strafford's trial, see Strafford Must Die by Annie Whitehead. Politically astute, Lucy managed to distance herself from Strafford so she was not brought low by his ruin. Lucy Hay was a survivor, after all. She switched sides and started passing information to one of Parliament's most ardent advocates, John Pym. Some even said she became his mistress. Perhaps one of the most important pieces of information that she passed to Pym, and which was credited with igniting the spark of civil war, was a warning that the King was planning to arrest Pym and four of his companions. Pym managed to escape, and a week later, he returned triumphant to Parliament to resume his crusade against the King. When the English Civil War broke out in 1642, Lucy favoured Parliament, though she took care to not entirely burn her bridges on the other side. She had a growing aversion to royal prerogative. Lucy favoured moderation, where the nobility retained their privilege instead of being irrelevant by the whims of the king. By the end of the 1st civil war, when it became apparent that Parliament was being circumvented by a fanatic Puritan faction, moderate Lucy switched sides to help spy for the Royalists.
During the second civil war (1647-1648), Lucy raised funds for the king and acted as a go-between the Royalists in the north and Queen Henrietta. In the end, all her efforts were for naught. The King was captured and in January 1649, executed. Two months later, Parliament arrested Lucy and sent her to the Tower of London for questioning. They threatened her with torture but could not break her. Lucy remained in the Tower for eighteen months, ironically not far from where her father had been kept all those years. Eventually she was paroled and released. In the final years of Cromwell's Protectorate, Lucy became a Royalist agent, joining others who worked to restore Charles II to his father's throne. A few short months after the Restoration, on November 5, 1660, Lucy Hay, Countess of Carlisle quietly passed away.
Femme fatale, informant, spy, Lucy Hay was a fascinating character. Alexandre Dumas obviously agreed. In a nutshell, what will be the reaction of the DC villains to the video of Henrietta fighting with Elihas Starr (Egghead) in which, during the battle, Elihas begins to mock everyone from whom he stole inventions.
He laughed at Ivy's idiotic plants, called Mr. Freeze's wife a cold corpse, and called the Riddler a loser.
In a nutshell...
It's a very confusing time for the villains.
On one hand, they are cheering for Antgirl to kick Egghead where the sun don't shine. Serves him right for the name calling and weapon stealing.
Then comes the surprising part.
Antgirl publicly DEFENDS them.
Calling Egghead cruel to pick on someone's beautiful wife in hard times, that at least Poison Ivy could grow her beautiful plants by herself instead of buying plastic ones, and calling the Riddler a formidable person when it comes to mind twisting puzzles that give everyone a run for their money.
...
The villains are putting Antgirl from under 'Don't hurt too badly' to 'Talk?'

Hi again, could you write an interaction in a nutshell between Dcpool and Antgirl and the Wasp?
If Dcpool had accidentally been thrown into the universe of Henrietta and James.
In a nutshell...
DCpool only knew it was a matter of time before he met Henny and James.
Of course he is going to know a bit more about them than what they let on. He's DCpool! he is going to know this stuff!
James thinks he is going to have a blast with DC, but goes into shock seeing how Henny grabs his attention first. He thought that meta to meta connection would happen.
Henrietta is just as surprised as James, but isn't complaining to much. DCpool's teasing is light hearted and subtle self esteem boosters.
DCpool knows what he is doing.
And he knows WHY he is doing it.
...
...
...But that's a secret for him to know and for you to find out dear readers!

Yj nutshell henrietta and James meet the red green depression trio please
In a nutshell...
James is immediately hitting it off with the lanterns.
He can fly.
They can fly.
He can do cool things.
They can do cool things.
The sisters are a bit wary on leaving Max alone with Antgirl, but after seeing the only thing that was dangerous about her was boring him to death, they figured it was a good idea to leave them alone.
Max has become friends with the Watch Tower ant colony as well as Antony. Henny is glad that someone appreciates her ants and work.

In a nutshell, what will be the reaction of the Young Justice team and other superheroes to the situation when Henrietta was called on television to talk about her latest achievements in quantum physics, but it turned out that the host is a hater of metahumans and a fan of Lex Luther, which is why the interview slowly escalated into a tough dispute about the rehabilitation of supervillains and the place of metahumans in society. And at the end, before Henrietta leaves, she says:
"I believe that everyone has the right to a second chance and that everyone has the right to a peaceful life without fear of being persecuted. Have a nice day, sir."
In a nutshell...
It wasn't Henrietta's fault that word soon got around about her achievements. She didn't know that the host was going to eventually start talking about hero things and Lex Luthor.
She just wanted to talk about her ants and quantum physics for goodness sakes!
The discussion escalated far to quickly for her likely, most likely for the views, before Henrietta spoke about her true beliefs of redemption and rehabilitation.
She dreaded going back to the cave to face the other, hoping dearly that they didn't see the show.
Too bad, they saw the whole thing.
The Young Justice already know Henny's stance when it comes to villains. It is one thing that stands out about her beliefs. Does it make some of the villain's capture harder? Yes, but she means well.
Henrietta doesn't even want to hear what the others have to say and just goes to her room to sleep. Today was way too much for her. She just wants her head to stop feel stuffy right now...
She gets a call a few minutes later from some Leaguers asking about her quantum physics work and if she could swing by the Watch Tower someday.
Maybe today wasn't so bad.

Hi, In a nutshell, what will be the reaction of the Young Justice team and the Justice League to the strange adventures and strange enemies of Henrietta and James?
Example:
1)One of the beetles in Henrietta's laboratory accidentally fell under the radiation of her experimental apparatus and gained intelligence, after which he used Pym particles to grow to gigantic proportions and begin to destroy humanity.
2) Their old enemy Whirlwind (a guy in a green suit who can create tornadoes) tried to rob a jewelry store, but Henrietta and James came to stop him (in each of their ways) Henrietta tried to persuade him to come to his senses and embark on a path of correction, and James just fired blasters at him and showered him with name-calling.
But in any case, it only ended with a huge tornado in the center of New York.
Hi mr-mxyzptlk!
In a nutshell...
In the case of the beetle, the Team is making a mental note to limit the amount of creepy crawling bugs Henny keeps in the lab. They don't care if they can help. There is one currently rampaging through a city right now!
Henrietta is trying to make sure that the team does as less damage to the beetle as possible. Though tactics change a bit once more than half of the team gets down.
In the case of Whirlwind, this is one of the villains that Antgirl and Wasp struggle on. Not because he is hard to capture. Its because Henrietta keeps trying to reason with him but keeps on getting interrupted by James firing his blaster away. Most of the time it because a bickering matter between the two heroes than the villain.
Its only when the tornado forms that the heroes put their differences aside to take him down.
Henrietta doesn't speak to James for a good couple of days afterwards.
