#learning about the kennewick man#and how the argument not to rebuey him#hinged upon the possibility that he was not an ancestor to contemporary native americans#hence nagpra not applying to him#(which was disproved and his remains were repatriated)#but like why does that matter#this man was a real person#who lived a real life and was loved by real people#who likely laid him to rest with the intention of him remaining at rest#and idk like shouldnt that outweigh scientific ideals everytime?#idk#maybe this is anti intellectual or whatever#but academias treatment of human remains bothers me a little
